Dear Princess Celestia

I apologise that I'm writing to you so early. I know I only just sent my previous letter yesterday, but I made your assistance or… at least you to clear something up for me.

Today, while I was in the library of the castle of friendship, I was skimming the library for something to read. I had noticed you gave me a lot of books I had never seen before, so I was just seeing if there was anything interesting… when I came across a peculiar book.

The cover of it was white, along with some gold lining on it. But, there were also speckles of all different colours on the book, like someone had flicked a bunch of paint over it! There was a circle in the middle with the words 'A burst of colour' in all different colours on it. At first, I thought this was probably a fiction story, so I decided to open it and see. It was only a short book, after all.

All of it hoofwritten, and It spoke about an alicorn named 'Colour Burst', a beautiful young alicorn who was covered head to her hooves in bright colours. I had really never seen or heard of anything like this… I mean, the only alicorns I know about are you, Luna, Cadence, Flurry Heart and myself! I figured this was probably a myth… but I kept reading.

The next page began a story about Colour Burst. It spoke about how, a very long time ago, she created rainbows for everypony. It even said she aided ponies getting their cutie marks by giving them sparks of Creativity, which gave her the nickname 'Creativity'. She was very open with the ponies of equestria and was very friendly, but… after Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, she was almost killed, and you sealed her away.

The story ended after that… Like I said, I suspected it was just a legend as I had never heard of such a story before! But, when I turned the page, I found a secret compartment hidden in the book, and in it was a necklace of shorts. The necklace had a crystal ball at the bottom that was all kinds of colours, and the chain holding it was golden. I picked it up with my magic so I could inspect it better, but then there was a bright flash.

I dropped the book and the necklace and tried to move back, but… the flash was gone as quickly as it came. When I looked up, I saw… well, Colour Burst. She was just lying on the ground, but she quickly bolted up afterwards.

She's just looking through my books now… please, if you can, get back to me as fast as possible.

Signed, Princess Twilight Sparkle.

Twilight put the quill down, using her magic to roll up the parchment and tie a ribbon around it, but before she could, thr parchment was snatched away.

"Hey! Don't send that to Tia now!" Colour burst said, holding the scroll in her hooves before using the magic to lift it up. "I just got here! It would be rude to just send me back!" She giggled, hiding the scroll under one of her colourful wings. Twilight glared at the colourful alicorn before her. Normally, she tries her best to keep calm, but this particular pony wasn't easy to keep underway.

Twilight glanced at the mess of books behind Burst, and she sighed, getting up from her work space and trotting over, picking up all the books with her magic. Burst hopped over, seeming in awe.

"Wow, you can pick up a lot of things with your magic! Isn't it difficult?" "No?" Twilight replied, putting the books away one by one. "You're an alicorn, can't you do the same?"

"Heh, you'd think that," Brust giggled again. "Nah, I don't use my magic that much. I just used it for my main talents! Like, making rainbows and making ponies want to be creative! Probably why Celestia put me away, because I couldn't fight Luna after she turned." Burst shrugged before sitting down on the floor.

"... It is a shame Celestia let me go so quickly, I guess maybe she forgot to bring me back?" Burst said, and Twilight raised an eyebrow at this. "... Well, if you give me back my scroll, maybe she'll come and meet you again?" Twilight suggests and Burst sat up again. "No way! It's been years since I've been out, and the first thing I see is another alicorn! I've never seen you before, let alone heard about you! What's your name?"

"Uh, Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship." The purple pony replied. "Princess of Friendship? Wow… that's something new… last time I was here, you just had the Princess of Equestria!" Burst giggled a bit. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Twilight!" She said, hopping up to her hooves again. "I hope we can be great friends!"

Twilight stared at her for a moment, and Burst seemed to pout at that. "Hey… you've barely said a word since I got here! That, and you've been acting super grumpy! Come on, you're the first pony I've got to see in years! Can't you at least be somewhat welcoming?"

Twilight blinked a bit. "Oh!" She let out, looking away quickly. "Well, uh," she tried to begin, but couldn't find the words. "I know what's wrong, you're confused!" Burst said. "Sorry, I get over excited from time to time, hehe." She laughed a bit, quickly zooming up into the air and landing on top of one of the book shelves. "My name is Colour Burst! Princess of Creativity and Rainbows! … well, not really 'Princess'... but, you're the Princess of Friendship, so I want to title Princess too!!" She said happily, seeming as giddy as a young foal.

"Wait, so you aren't a Princess?" Twilight asked. "Nope! Not until today, that is! Celestia never referred to me as a Princess, she just mentioned me by name. But I think it's a fun name, don't you think?" Burst said happily. Twilight actually couldn't help but smile at this. "Heh, yeah… it's fun."

"Ooh, it's been so long since I've been around equestria, can you show me around? I'll give your scroll back if you do!" Burst said, hopping down onto the ground again as she trotted up to Twilight. "Um… right now?" She asked.

Burst nodded enthusiastically. "Of course!"

Twilight thought about it… she didn't have anything better to do… besides, it may be a good idea to get her friends involved… maybe they somehow knew something about Colour Burst that she didn't? Or maybe…

Twilight had an idea.

"Well, alright, how about we go and see my friend Fluttershy? I'm sure she and her friends would love to meet you."
