Story one: Princess Celestia's Foal part 3

Previous Chapter

Later that evening, Spike was walking through the streets of Canterlot after picking up some foal supplies for Celestia, mostly just diaper-changing supplies. The young drake looked somewhat nervous as he was with Twilight, who had a few presents stacked on her back. Spike was still nervous as he hadn't been able to tell her the truth about Rarity as she thought that Princess Celestia really was adopting an orphaned baby alicorn. Spike knew he had to reveal the truth eventually, but he just needed to know when.

Twilight turned to face him as he toddled along, and she must've noticed he was nervous and asked, "are you ok? You seem tense."

"What me tense!?" Spike laughed and threw a claw over the top of his spines. "I'm not tense; I'm just excited that we're meeting a baby alicorn, is all."

Twilight nodded in agreement and said, "yeah, me too; strange, I don't think there's ever been a recorded natural alicorn birth…maybe she's related to Princess Cadance?"

"Yeah, maybe…" Spike mumbled under his breath; he remained silent as he knew who the alicorn baby really was but kept that information to himself until he could find a good time to reveal what he knew.

The young drake was then escorted through the Canterlot palace, and the place was filled with light purple streamers, purple balloons, and confetti that covered the ground. Then there was a banner that read "Happy Baby Shower!" Twilight just stood there and gasped, "Oh my!"

There were tons of motherly mares, chilling, drinking punch; Celestia was sitting on her throne wearing a foal carrier with a bit of baby alicorn strapped around her chest. Spike immediately recognized the baby Rarity with her swirly purple mane and tail. Celestia turned to Twilight, and her face lit up into a bright smile, "Twilight!"

"Princess Celestia," the violet alicorn replied and bowed as the older alicorn trotted over and hugged her. "Oh, please forgo formalities this evening; let's celebrate my new daughter."

"Yes, I see!" Twilight exclaimed, somewhat astonished by seeing the baby alicorn up close. She kicked and cooed about in the carrier as Spike placed a claw over his face seeing he knew who she really was. He had to find a "polite" way to explain everything, but doing it here in the middle of a party filled with the princess' guests would be a bad idea.

"Oh, hello, Spike!" The princess exclaimed as she looked downward at him.

Spike squeaked instead of suddenly being addressed and quickly waved a hoof, "h…hello!"

"Hello!? Is that all you have to say?"

Celestia bent down to Spike's level and said with a smile, "oh, I'm so glad you're here! Do you want to say hi to my daughter?"

"Oh uh…sure!?" Spike replied with a somewhat unsure tone in his voice.

The young drake looked downward at the filly and waved a claw Rarity kicked and squealed at him. But since all that came out of her mouth was gibberish. He couldn't help but wonder if she was still there or was "Rarity" he knew was gone!?

Twilight looked around and said, "wow did you set all this up yourself?"

Celestia's cheeks flushed pink as she explained, "well…it was my sister Luna. I went out to get foal supplies, and when I returned, this was all here."

Spike and Twilight both let out an, "awww."

Twilight looked at the baby alicorn as cute. Her body was rather chubby, with a small twirl of violet mane and a small curly tail popping out from her diaper. She had wide blue eyes and drool coming down her chin. The violet alicorn couldn't help but pinch her cheek and cooed, "what are you going to name the little cutie?"

Princess Celestia was somewhat confused as she tapped a hoof to her chin and asked, "Oh!? Well, I thought we could do that later; I'm still not sure yet."

"Oh, there you are, dear sister! Are you enjoying your baby shower!?" Luna exclaimed.

Celestia turned to Luna, flying over towards her, and hugged her. "Oh yes, thank you for doing this for me!"

Luna nuzzled her and cooed, "oh please, it's no problem at all; I still can't believe you didn't tell me that you had a daughter!?"

Princess Celestia squeaked as she looked around to see that her guests were all snickering. With sweat coming down her brow, she quickly said, "Um…Luna, she's not my daughter technically."

Luna looked down at the foal and tickled her belly, making the little filly squirm. After looking at her for a few more minutes, she scratched her mane and asked, "but she has so many similarities to your likeness!? Are you absolutely sure she's not yours?!"

Celestia rolled her eyes and said, "yes, sister, I'm sure I would remember if I gave birth."

Luna looked up and shrugged, then replied with a sigh, "well, I'm just making sure…oh well!"

The princess of the night then turned to her soldiers escorting her and said, "guards, please bring my sister her gift."

Princess Celestia gasped upon seeing a crib with beams and a cute purple mattress. The mobile overhead had little moons and stars in the crib, made by hoof and well crafted with fresh wood wafting. Princess Celestia was overwhelmed by the gift; her eyes were filled with tears as she cried, "oh sister, you didn't have to get me something?"

Princess Luna came over to her sister, wiped the tears with the rip of her wing, and exclaimed, "of course I did! If we were going to raise a baby alicorn, we better have everything need,"

Celestia's cheeks flushed pink, "oh, Luna." The two hugged, and this just made Spike feel even worse. How would he tell the princess that her foal was really Rarity now!?

The two then continued their time at the party as Rarity was being dawwed and given so much attention. But seeing Spike and Twilight made her feel self-conscious, especially about how guilty Spike looked. She was starting to realize this was going too far, but she had no way of telling Celestia who she really was.

As the party was wrapping up, Celestia clanked her glass getting everypony's attention; she then said, "good evening everypony, thank you for coming to my baby shower…despite this foal not being my biological daughter, that doesn't change the fact that since she'll be formally adopted by me."

This got a round of applause from the ponies surrounding the princess. Rarity was getting rather excited, bouncing up and down in her foal carrier. Princess Celestia popped a pacifier into her mouth and waited for the foal to calm down before continuing her speech. "Now, for the moment, you've all been waiting for what to name her?"

Before she could say anything, Spike shouted, "it's Rarity!"

"Rarity!? That's a lovely name Spike," Celestia chirped which made Twilight laugh as she slapped the drake on the back, "oh yes, of course, you would want her to name the baby Rarity."

Spike rolled his eyes and shouted, "of course not!" he slammed a claw seeing he had to confess what he knew as he said, "no, that baby…that baby is really Rarity!?"

Twilight blinked as she looked over at Rarity, who nodded. The violet alicorn was taken aback and said, "wait…" she looked over at the baby alicorn. The resemblance to her friend seemed to hit her rather suddenly, and she shouted, "Wait! Spike might be right!"

The baby alicorn squealed as she wrapped her wings around her, as Princess Celestia looked over at her. "Are you sure? How did she end up like this?"

Spike gulped as he explained, "well…you see, I uh…found a book in your old castle."

Celestia gasped upon hearing this and said. "Wait, was the book made of stone and had spikes on it?"

The young drake slowly nodded as Celestia looked downward, "I see…":

"Yeah, I gave it to Rarity to help her, but it regressed her into a baby alicorn."

Celestia gave a slight nod acknowledging the information but seemed hesitant. She then levitated the foal up to her face and said, "Rarity, if you can understand me, if that's really you, nod your head."

Rarity paused; the desire to be a princess alicorn could be raised by Princess Celestia herself. She could simply babble and kick about, acting like a typical foal. But then she would lose her life's work and friendships, and worse, Sweetie Belle would never forgive her for abandoning her. Rarity then looked up at Princess Celestia and gave a simple nod.

Everypony gasped as Celestia burst into tears and hugged the foal wrapping her wings around her as she cooed, "well, Rarity, I…I guess it's goodbye…."

Rarity couldn't help but whimper and cry, too, feeling so bad for deceiving the princess she was then placed down as Spike took the little foal and held her. "Shshhing" her as he took her to Twilight, who placed her onto her back. "Well, I apologize, Princess Celestia; we ruined your baby shower."

Princess Celestia shook her head "no," then said, "please, I rather we knew who this baby belonged to. And seeing she's your friend getting her back to normal is more important."

Rarity turned around, held out her hooves, and cried, "thank you, mama."

This made everypony daww as Celestia placed a heart over her chest, as a tear came to her eye. "Oh, it was my pleasure being your mother, Rarity, even if it was for a day."

Luna pouted, lowered her head, and grumbled, "awww, I wanted to be an aunt."

Princess Celestia gave her a pat on the back as she whispered, "you'll still be an aunt or even a mother one day; just be patient."

Everypony dawwed and clapped as Spike bowed asTwilight did the same, and then the two walked off together.

Back at Carousel Boutique, Rarity was stowing away all the baby clothes and diapers she created when she was an alicorn baby. She decided to keep the foalish articles of clothing as she planned to have a sale.

Spike then came through the store and said, "hey, Rarity!"

Rarity turned to face Spike and gave him a bright smile as she waved a hoof and exclaimed, "oh, hello, Spike!"

"Hey, I'm just checking on you," Spike replied squeamishly as he entered the boutique.

Rarity bowed and said, "I am doing well; I want to thank you for helping me."

She felt rather annoyed at herself as she admitted, "I have to confess, I did enjoy being a baby, and I was tempted to stay as a Princess Alicorn."

She then held a hoof to her chest and said, "but if that meant sacrificing who I am, it wasn't worth it."

"Right, it was because of that stupid book I found. I had Twilight stow it away for study." Spike replied with an assured tone.

Rarity ruffled his spins and said, "well, it was fun being a foal minus using diapers. I definitely don't wish to do that again," Spike snickered as she gave a sheepish cough, then continued, "would you mind helping me get all these baby clothes and diapers put away? I was planning to put them on sale tomorrow?"

"Yes, mam!" Spike exclaimed; he then went about and helped Rarity gather the articles of foal clothing and diapers along with her.
