Petals in the Wind
Epilogue
Previous ChapterBeing dead was rough. Once again Petal found himself awakening back inside Necrosis’ home, the same bed that he had been lying in when he had been recovering the first time. His body was covered in stitches and wounds that had been bandages up. Everything was sore, but he had come to expect that.
He thought that his end would have come when he faced down Hatter, so the fact he had done it and managed to survive was a small miracle in itself.
The hulking form of Lavender the Barbarian was watching over him, those light purple eyes fixing down upon him as he slowly awoke. “I hope you forgive me for robbing you of a warriors death.”
Petal almost scoffed, before realizing just how much that might end up hurting the hulking mass of muscle and willpower.
“No, it’s fine Lavender. I’d rather not die just yet.”
The barbarian nodded softly, “I have devolved feelings for you, Petal.”
This Petal did scoff at softly, “I can’t say that I noticed. You’re about as subtle as a house brick Lavender. I like that, you don’t seem to hide your feelings or intentions in the slightest.”
Lavender gave a soft nod, “I wanted nothing more then the death of a warrior, to go off towards the great hall to drink and have songs sung about me until the fall of the world. Death never scared me in the slightest, but… When I am around you, I… I… Well, I feel like there is more to life then trying to fight the biggest and toughest foe around.”
As he spoke, his normally calm resolve falling apart as he struggled with something that he couldn’t just clobber with his hooves.
“Would you like to spend time with me… L-I… Just doing things together?” He asked.
“You mean like a date? When I get my insides patched up I’d love to.”
Lavender the Barbarian blushed darkly beneath his fur, his hooves tapping lightly against the ground, giving a soft smile that spread into a wide grin.
“I would like that very much….”
“Then, it’s a date.”
