Far away from the bustling city near the mountains. Also, home to a small blacksmith shop called the "Four weapons." As the afternoon sky turns orange, a tall beautiful woman clothed in a white dress with a straw hat on top of her head with a walking stick in hand made her way up the winding cobblestone path to the blacksmith shop. Inside, a red-haired girl with a hammer in hand, working under the intense heat of the forge. "SUNSET!" The girl jolts up and bumps her head against the shelf above her. "Ow!" She rubs the top of her head and looks back at the person who called her. "What's the matter now?" She asks. The person who called her is a boy who couldn't be older than twelve years old. "S-sorry," He says nervously. "I just wanted to check up on you." Sunset rubs some of the soot off her face. "I'm fine, just busy at the moment." She replies. She takes the sword off the anvil and lets the metal cool off in a bucket of water. "To forge the perfect weapon, you first need the right metal and plenty of heat. Cool it off… and…" She raises her sword and looks at it in disappointment seeing as the metal was curved into a spiral shape. "Great... Just perfect." She says in frustration and tossed it aside into a pile of the other attempts. Sunset rips off the apron and gloves, setting them in their proper place. "I'll close up shop," Sunset says to the younger boy behind her. "Can I help this time?" He asks. "Please?" Sunset nods motioning him to follow her upstairs. The two start cleaning up the shop, Sunset puts all the armor and weapons back on display while her younger brother Sunburst sweeps the floor. "Is making weapons difficult? Or do you just suck at it?" Sunburst says with a smug smile on his face. Sunset glanced at him and sticks out her tongue. "Very funny..." Sunburst chuckles at his older sister. "You made it too quickly, Sunset. Be patient. If mother was still here, she'd say—" "I know. No matter how much fire you have, experience isn't something you learn overnight." Sunset rubs her forehead. A tall woman clothed in white with a straw hat on her head that covers the upper half of her face walls into the shop with her walking stick in hand. "Um, excuse me, ma'am," Sunburst calls out. "We're currently closing. Do you need something?" He asks the mysterious woman. Sunset leans against the wall with her arms crossed, she watches as the woman looks directly at her. For some reason, the woman felt familiar to her. "So uh, are going to buy something?" She asks, Sunset felt weird around this woman, too out of her element. She didn't like it at all. "Hmm… your metal is loud and heavy. Useful to slow one down. Useless in the art of stealth." The woman finally speaks up. She inspects a set of iron armor that was on display before looking back at Sunset. "All tools for a samurai, but nothing for a ninja?" She lifted her hat a bit, Sunset could see the glint in the woman's eyes. Sunset shakes her head. "Ninja? Huh, you're a long way from finding a ninja in these parts." Sunset replies. "Also the shop is called "Four Weapons," not "For Browsing." Either buy something or go peddle your insults somewhere else we're about to close up for the night." Sunset glares at the woman. "I'm so sorry ma'am, my sister didn't mean that! She's just a bit of a hothead." Sunburst says apologizing. The woman simply chuckles. "It's alright young one," She says. "I think I've found what I was looking for." Sunburst motions to Sunset to show the woman around. Sunset rolls her eyes and takes a helmet off the shelf. "If it's something special you're looking for, let me sh—" She turns around and the woman in white is no where to be found. "What is it?" Her brother asks. Sunset points to the entrance where the lady was standing. "She was just… forget it." Sunset says tiredly. A dark cloud then appears over Ignacia, heralding the arrival of the Nightmare Forces. Upon the arrival, three nightmare generals appear on the Skull Truck. "Oh, oh! Let me go first! Please, oh please! I'm dying to go down there!" One of the generals, Blueblood says. "You nitwit, you're already dead! Try to control yourself in front of Master Shadowfright." The other general Jerome says, and then chances his tone facing Shadowfright. "But with all due respect, last time… you did say… I could go first." Jerome says, Shadowfright glance at him. "Sorry boys, this one is mine. Just remember what we're after and find that map. Attack!" Shadowfright orders, all the Nightmare Skulkin Vehicles accelerate in full speed. The citizens of Ignacia charge towards the oncoming trucks. "Boo!" Shadowfright shouts causing the villagers to runaway. Sunburst looked out the kitchen window. "Um, sis." He say's. The two of them had just finished eating dinner. Sunset puts on a set of armor and grabs a sword. "What are they?" Sunburst asks following is sister. "I don't know. Stay here." Sunset tells him. "But—" "Just stay here and don't come out the house no matter what." Sunset says sternly before going outside, Sunburst could only watch as his older sister closed the door behind her. Sunset gets into a stance as a Night marchers wearing black armor with a moon symbol brought up it's axe. Sunset ducks under it's swing and gives it a roundhouse kick knocking off it's head. Another Night marchers decapitates itself and bites Sunset's foot. "Ow! Little piece of crap." She kicks the nightmares's head away. As two Night marchers clap for the extraordinary performance, Sunburst sneaks up behind them and performs a stealth attack. "I thought I told you to stay back!" Surprised seeing her brother out there with her. "Go back inside," Sunset kicks one of the Night Marchers in the chest sending tumbling down on a few other, they hit the ground like domino's. "And what? Let you have all the fun?" Sunburst say's and knocks another one back with a large tree branch. "I don't remember you being this stubborn." Sunset shakes her head. "I must've picked it up from you then." "I'm so getting you back for that when this is over." As the siblings fight the Nightmare Forces, Blueblood and Jerome sneak inside the shop unnoticed and start looking at the merchandise inside. "I can't find shit in this place," Blueblood says and knocks down a shelf full of shurikens. "You're not looking hard enough!" Jerome say's, he hits Blueblood with a samurai helmet. Blueblood pounced on him and the two generals started having a fist fight inside the shop. As the two generals continue tussling, they come across the map Shadowfright was looking for. "There it is!" Blueblood says. "Let's hurry up and take it before that girl with the red hair comes back!" Jerome grabs the map that was hidden behind the now fallen sign of the "Four weapons" shop. Sunset finishes off the last of the Night Marchers of the Nightmare Forces when Shadowfright approaches her. Sunset takes out her weapon while Shadowfright takes out six more. "Six arms, really? That's a bit overkill don't you think?" Sunset says nervously. "You look like someone from a star wars movie like... General Grevious." Shadowfright growls at Sunset. "Okay, I have no idea why you're here but, if it's money your after I suggest you go rob a bank instead of this little shop I have going on here. So I'd really appreciate it if you'd, ya'know. Leave my brother and I alone." Shadowfright says nothing as he charges at Sunset with pure killing intent. Sunset uses her sword to block his strike, the general pushes all of his weight on Sunset making her kneel on the ground. The cobblestone path underneath them cracks. "In the name of Nightmare moon, the spawn of the Sun must be destroyed." He slashed at Sunset's side and kicks her chest. Sunset covers her wound trying too stop the bleeding. "You have fought well for a child." Shadowfright says and points the tip of his sword at Sunset's neck. "But, you must be eliminated. Goodbye Sunset Shimmer." //-------------------------------------------------------// Episode two: When do I start? //-------------------------------------------------------// Episode two: When do I start? "But, you must be eliminated. Goodbye Sunset Shimmer." Sunset covers her face as Shadowfright is about to give her a deadly blow, a golden beam of light hit hits him sending the general away from Sunset. Sunset looks up and see's the woman from earlier standing infront of her. Her white dress adoring with gold jewelry, long wavy tri-colored hair that flowed in the wind. Her walking stick was replaced with a scepter that has a Sun emblem. The goddess looks down at Sunset giving the girl a motherly smile. "Are you alright my child?" Sunset slowly nods, the woman turns back to Shadowfright. "Celestia, your magic looks rusty." Shadowfright hissed. The woman named Celestia simply chuckles at Shadowfright. "It's been awhile. And besides, there's nothing like bone to sharpen its edge, Shadowfright." Shadowfright looks back at Sunset and at the water tower above her, he tossed four blades and destroys one of the support legs to crush Sunset with the tank. "Look out!" Sunburst yells, Sunset looks up and tries to crawl away. "Oh no..." A golden tornado approaches Sunset and moves her out the way. Celestia gently sets Sunset down as Shadowfright retreats back to his vehicle. "Nightmare moon says take the boy!" Celestia eyes widen. "Nightmare moon..." Jerome laughs as he launches the truck's bone hand to grab Sunburst. "No!" Sunset yells, she gets up and runs after them. "Sunset wait!" Celestia yells after her. "Hey! Stop!" Sunset yells after them, her vision blurry and unfocused due to blood lose. Celestia dashed to the red haired girl catching her. "My.. brother..." Sunset's eye's slowly start to close as she's in Celestia's arms. "Shhhhh.... It's okay." Celestia tells her. "We'll get him back, I promise." Celestia feels Sunset fall unconscious in her arms. The sky turned back to normal, Celestia stands up and carries Sunset back to the blacksmith shop. A few hours later, Sunset wakes up in her bed fully healed. But her brother was nowhere in sight. The door knob to her bedroom turns, Sunset hoping that it was Sunburst but instead Celestia walked in with a tray of food. "Welcome back to the land of the living little sun." Celestia sets the tray down on Sunset's night stand. "So... it wasn't a dream after all," Sunset says sadly. Her Sunburst, who she sworn to protect was snatched right under her nose. "I'm afraid so young one." Celestia sits next to Sunset. "I'm going to get my brother back!" Sunset throws the blankets off her gets out of bed still filling the stinging pain from the wound on her side from Shadowfright. "Where they go, a mortal cannot. That was Shadowfright, king of the Underworld. And if it's true that he's carrying orders for Nightmare moon, then I fear things are much worse than I ever thought." Celestia warns. "I don't care, Sunburst's mother was the only family I ever had. My birth parents dropped me off here when I was just a baby she took care of me when my real parent's whoever they are." Sunset explains. "Sunburst, is the only thing I have left... So what the hell do two kids have that's so important to them?! And why would they take my brother?!" Sunset's turquoise eyes narrowed at Celestia. Celestia sighs, the look Sunset was giving her is the same one that her younger sister Luna used to give her when they were younger. She couldn't help but smile a bit seeing Sunset as a younger version of Luna. "I'll tell you everything, Long before time had a name, Equestria was created by the First Spinjitzu Master, by using the Six Weapons of Harmony: The Scythe of Quakes, the Nunchucks of Lightning, the Shurikens of Ice, and the Sword of Fire, the scepter of life, and the Hammer of illusions. Weapons so powerful, no one can handle all of their power at once. When she passed away, her two daughters swore to protect them, but the youngest was consumed by darkness and wanted to possess them. A battle between sisters broke out, and the youngest was struck down and banished to the Moon. Peace returned, and the older sister hid the weapons, but knowing her younger sisters relentless ambition for power, she placed a guardian to protect them. And for fear of her own demise, gave a map for an honest woman to hide." Celestia explains the story to Sunset. "You're the older sister? Then you came here looking for the map?" Sunset asks. "No. I came for something greater—you." Celestia lightly taps Sunset's shoulder with her secptar. "Since my sister cannot enter this realm, it's obvious she has struck a deal with Shadowfright and somehow managed to travel to the Underworld sometime after I banished her to the moon. If she were to collect all six weapons, even I would not be able to stop her again. But you! You have the fire inside. I will train you to harness it. Use it. Become a Spinjitzu Master. You Sunset Shimmer, must defeat Nightmare moon." Celestia tells Sunset. "I'm flattered but, I have no interest in being a ninja. I just want to get my brother back." Sunset says. "Unless there's some ancient prophecy that says that I specifically have to defeat some great evil or whatever then..." Sunset stops talking and see's Celestia's eyes looking at the floor. "You've got to kidding me." ================================ The next day, Sunset makes her journey up the mountain of impossible height. As she struggles climbing over rocks Celestia gracefully walks over. Sunset doubles over exhausted from the mountain climbing during the past few hours. "How long is training gonna be? Aren't we in a bit of a rush since they have the map?" Sunset asks Celestia. Celestia simply smiles. "Patience little Sun," She opens the doors of the monastery. "You will be ready when you are ready. Not a minute sooner." She motions for Sunset to walk through the doors. "A monastery? You expect me to learn to fight in a place of peace?" Sunset asks surprised. "Not fight. Train. In order to become a true ninja, first you must be able to see what others do not." Celestia explains to her new student. "But there's nothing here, what am I even supposed to do? Meditate?" Celestia pushes a sun statue, which reveals a secret button. She pushes it, activating all the training equipment in the monastery. Sunset looks around in awe. "Whoa! Is this gonna teach me how to do that cool move?" Sunset asks amazed. She goes on top of one of the training poles and does the pose from one of those old karate kid movies as it descends. Celestia pauses for a moment. "Oh, dear." Sunset gets launched into the sun symbol and falls back on the ground. "Complete the training course before I finish my tea. Then we will see if you are ready." Celestia drinks the entire cup. "Today you failed. Tomorrow you will try again." "Wait what?" Sunset asks, her brain trying desperately to process everything that transpired. "Come with me, I'll show you to your room little Sun." Celestia says, she opens the doors and walks inside. Sunset quickly gets up to her feet and follows her inside. After walking through the corridors, Celestia finally stops infront of one of the doors. "This shall be your room now that you'll be staying here." Said Celestia and opens the sliding door. She gives Sunset a gentle push assuring Sunset that she could go inside. The room was fairly large, bigger than her bedroom back at home. The main theme of the room was red and turquoise, it was almost as if Celestia had already had this room made specifically for her. On the rug in the middle of the room and on the comforter of the bed is a golden sun symbol that has a yin-yang design. "W-when did you do this?" Sunset asks. Celestia just smiles and pats Sunset's head. "All will be revealed when you are ready little Sun." Celestia says and goes to walk out the room. Before leaving she gives Sunset one last glance. "I hope to see great things from you Sunset. Your training will continue tomorrow morning." And with that, Celestia leaves closing the sliding door behind her leaving Sunset to her thoughts. 'Why do I have a feeling that I know her from somewhere... And why is she being so cryptic!?!?' //-------------------------------------------------------// Episode four: Teammates //-------------------------------------------------------// Episode four: Teammates Sunset gets thrown through the roof of the monastery with the girl wielding a war hammer following after her. "Weeeeee!!! This is so much fun!" The girl swings her hammer left and right with a huge grin under her mask. Sunset scrambles backwards trying to avoid getting hit. "Why are you all attacking me!?" Sunset slides down the side of the roof and runs into one of the other girls holding nunchucks lunges at her causing the two of them to roll off the roof and hit the ground. Sunset kicks the girl off of her then turns on the training equipment. The girl with a staff gets squeaks as she gets hit in the face by a sand bag while the girl wearing the cowboy hat ties up Sunset and accidentally her partner with her lasso, making the other three dog pile ontop of Sunset. The doors open revealing Celestia. "All of you stop." She commands. The five ninja get off of Sunset and untie her. "Yes Sensei," The five say in unison while Sunset looks at everyone with a confused and aggravated expression on her face. "Wait, they're your student's too?" Sunset asks and Celestia nods. "This was my final test wasn't it." "Woah, woah, woah, woah!" Says one of the ninja who takes off her hood to reveal a girl with rainbow colored hair. "You never said anything about a sixth member!" The rainbow haired girl points at Sunset. "Get your finger out of my face before I break it." Sunset growled and the two girl's glare at eachother. The cowgirl takes off her mask and gently pushes the two younger girls apart. "Now, now, yall don't need to start fightin'." She says and looks at Sunset. "The names Applejack but you can call me Aj." The cowgirl named Applejack says giving Sunset a smile. "Sorry about Rainbow Dash, she's.... you'll get use to her. And also sorry about the whole sneak attack on ya'. No hard feelings right?" Sunset narrowed her eyes on Applejack before letting a 'Tch' sound. "Yeah, no hard feelings or whatever." Sunset say's. "But could someone please explain what's going on?" "The six of you have been chosen as the new guardians of the Elemental weapons of Harmony. The most powerful weapons to ever exist, they created by my mother the goddess Aine." Celestia explains. "The goddess Aine? I thought that was just an old fairytale?" Sunset says. "It's very much true. The six of you are the only ones that can stop nightmare moon. But first," Celestia snaps her fingers and in a golden light the six girls are wearing different color gi's. "Sunset, Master of Fire. It burns bright in you. Rainbow Dash is blue, Master of Lightning." Celestia lists off. "Heh, that's not all I'm the master of." Rainbow says and Applejack and the sighs. "More like "Mouth of Lightning"." Sunset snickers and Applejacks comment as Rainbow glared at the two girls. "Black Ninja is Applejack, solid as rock, Master of Earth." "It really is nice to meet you, Sunset. I got your back, and for the record, there ain't nothing in this world I'm afraid of. "Except for dragons!" The curly pink haired girl said. "Dragons aren't from this world, Pinkie. I said in this world." "And White Ninja is Rarity, Master of Ice, and generosity." Rarity then gives Sunset a wave. "Nice to meet you darling, if you ever need fashion advice please come to me. And I just love your hair!" Rarity says. "Pink Ninja is Pinkie, Master of Illusions. And the yellow ninja is Fluttershy, Master of life." Pinkie Pie zooms up to Sunset and gets the red haired girl in a bear hug. "Hi! My name is Pinkie Pie! We're so going to be best friends!" She squeals and tightens her hold on Sunset as Fluttershy just gave her a small wave. "Ow...! Ow...! Can't *gasps* breathe!" Sunset gasps and tries to wiggle out of Pinkies hold. "Pinkie, you outta let go of her!" Applejack says and takes Sunset out of Pinkie Pies death hold. "You good, sugarcube?" Applejack rubs Sunsets back as the younger girl catches her breath. "I'm fine," Sunset says and looks at Celestia. "When do we start this little adventure?" //-------------------------------------------------------// Episode three: I don't like this Final test! //-------------------------------------------------------// Episode three: I don't like this Final test! During the first couple of days, Sunset felt like she was dying. Celestia had tossed her off one of the many mountains around the monastery and had left Sunset with these parting words. "Make sure to be back at the monastery by tomorrow morning, try not to die!" And tossed Sunset off the mountain. Fortunately, Sunset had fell into a river and made it back to the monastery a little before midnight. Sunset ate good that night. For the next couple of days, Sunset trains at the obstacle course, but fails to meet Celestia's expectations, making Celestia fail her over and over again. Celestia winced as Sunset got hit in the face by the sand bag and get thrown around like a raging doll. "Fail. Fail. Fail! Arrgh, so fail! And… fail." Sunset's back hits the wall before she falls face first to the ground battered and tired. Celestia approaches her and helps Sunset up to her feet. "Easy little sun, you can always try again tomorrow." Celestia kept telling her after every try. The next day, stubborn and determined as ever. Sunset goes though the training equipment once again as Celestia watches. Just as Celestia is about to drink her tea, Sunset knocks her cup away with her sword to stall her. When Celestia pours some more tea into another cup and looks up, she notices that Sunset is nowhere to be found. Celestia then notices Sunset sitting beside her with a tea cup in her hand with a smirk on Sunset's face. Celestia gives the flame haired girl a smile and pours tea for the both of them. "So, does this mean I've finished my training and when will I learn this Spinjitzu?" Sunset asks sipping her tea. "You already have. Come with me Sunset, I have something to show you." —— "Watch your step," Celestia guides Sunset up the summit of the tallest mountain in the region. The afternoon sun shines brightly in Sunset's face, feeling the warmth from it in the cold. They were far above the clouds watch them slowly go past. Sunset watches Celestia bathe in the sunlight. "What do you think? Isn't it beautiful up here?" Celestia says, her hair gracefully blows in the wind. "My mother would take my sister and I up here to raise and lower the sun and moon." Celestia says feeling a bit nostalgic, Sunset stands next to Celestia. She couldn't help but agree that the scenery was breathtaking. "Wait, your mother raised and lowered the sun and the moon?" Sunset asks. "Your joking right? There's no way she could do that." Sunset couldn't believe a word Celestia said. Someone controlling both the sun and the moon was ridiculous. "Watch this," Celestia moves behind Sunset and puts her hand on the younger girls' shoulder. "Relax and hold up your right hand towards the sun." She took Sunset's hand and raised it up, a soft golden aura emitted from Celestia and enveloped Sunset. Celestia lowers both of their hands and the sun started to set. "There's no way...." Sunset's eye's were as wide as saucers, once the sun went down Sunset as if all of her energy was sucked out of her body. Celestia let's Sunset go and raises the moon with ease. "Did you really just-" "I think you mean did 'we'? Yes, we did." Celestia answers. "You might feel a bit woozy, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon." Sunset's head starts spinning after hearing that she might have to do it again. "A-again? She couldn't help but think to herself. "I suppose I'll teleport us back." Celestia said seeing that Sunset looked like she would pass out from exhaustion or shock. With the snap of her fingers, Celestia and Sunset were back at the monastery. — Later that night, Sunset stood infront of her bathroom mirror brushing her teeth aggressively while mumbling to herself. Above her, five females clothed in black ninja outfits sneak into the monastery and into Sunset's room. Talking to herself, Sunset gestures wildly holding her toothbrush like a sword. "Oh yeah?! Well take this!" She say's. The first ninja is a tall girl with emerald green eye's with a cowboy hat ontop of her head. She drops down silently near the front door holding a Scythe with a lasso on her left hip. Sunset soon faces another girl wielding a wooden war hammer and soon the other three drop down surrounding Sunset and the five girl's prepare to attack her. "Well... This isn't good." The girl with the Warhammer was the first to speak up. "Hiiii~!" She sings and takes a swing at Sunset who back bends to avoid getting hit in the face. Sunset then rolls out the way as the fourth ninja throws their Shurikens at Sunset's head. "Okay, if this is Celestia's final test then I REALLY don't like the way it's going!" Sunset says getting back up to her feet. All five ninja rush at her. Author's Note Hello everyone, sorry that this chapter is pretty short. I just wanted to atleast get this one out before I start school this Wednesday. And yes, I'm starting out with all six EQG girls and Twilight along with Spike won't make a appearance until the Tournaments of elements.
