It was a lovely afternoon in Las Pegasus with the perfect weather for being outdoors. Shining Armor and Cadance were enjoying some coffee on the balcony of their royal hotel suite. So far, their vacation had been a great little reprieve from all their duties. Sunburst is more than capable of foal sitting for the week or so they’d be gone. Shining leaned over the table and gave Cadance a light kiss smiling. “Mmm, this is a nice day, isn’t it?”
Cadance nodded, fluttering her wings as she enjoyed the breeze. “Indeed, just nice to unwind.”
“You did seem to enjoy the bungee jumping experience on the blimp yesterday. And here I thought my mom had the adrenaline side.”
“Oh, I’m supposed to play with dolls instead?” Cadance teased as she gazed over the balcony at the pool area on the ground floor and observed the foals splashing around.
Shining gasped, “Models.” He retorted, although he knew full well she was just teasing. He glanced at where Cadence was looking and smiled. ”It is the perfect weather for a swim now that I think about it.” He watched the foals playing in the water with the sun reflecting off a few pool toys. He found himself amused by the goofy grins and shiny surfaces and turned to look at his wife as he thought about something.
“Yes, let’s go for a swim,” Cadence said. The two got up from their seats and walked into the suite. As Cadance started to take her regal hoof shoes off, Shining spoke again.
“You know, honey, I just had this fun idea for the pool,” Shining said with a smirk.
“Oh? Did you somehow pack some water guns when I wasn’t looking?” Cadance asked, setting her shoes next to the queen-sized bed.
“No, not this time at least,” Shining chuckled as he admired Cadance’s lovely form. “Was just thinking that every pool needs a pool toy.”
Cadance tilted her head, puzzled. “But, there are already plenty from what I saw.”
“I know. It's just that I had this funny thought that you could be a pool toy for me. My royal flotation device.” Shining said, moving up next to her to give her nose a light boop.
“Hmm, being a pool toy? I suppose that could be an interesting thing to try.” Cadance tapped her chin as she thought it over.
“Plus, nopony would give a second glance at a toy. You’d avoid being swarmed by fans.” Shining added.
Cadance nodded. “Oh, I suppose that is a good point.” Even while on vacation, it didn't stop ponies from wanting to see her or even asking for advice. Not that she minded giving advice or making other ponies happy. But this was a vacation she shouldn’t need to worry about such things.
“Oh, not only that, but I heard from Twilight that Starlight experienced it once,” Shining said, recalling when he got a letter from her sister mentioning that story. “Although she did it to herself, she thought it was enjoyable.”
“You did?” Cadence asked, surprised. “When?”
“Yesterday, before we left,” Shining replied. “But, I guess I forgot to tell you. Sorry.”
“I see,” Cadance said. She raised an eyebrow, knowing fully well that her husband never forgets to tell her things. But, to be fair, that was his first, so she decided to pass it aside.
Another idea popped into Shining’s head. “And hey, afterwards, when we dry off and come back here, I can deflate you and fold you up, then fill you back up with air and turn you back to yourself. What do you say?”
Cadance looked towards the window before staring back with a smile. “Alright, Shining, I trust you.” She sat down on the floor and watched Shining's horn light up. His face scrunching a bit as the stallion focused the spell onto her. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths in preparation. Firstly, she felt a prickling sensation run down from the top of her head and down to the base of her tail. She shifted some as the aura of magic around her increased, a cool sensation starting to flow out from around her slender belly. The feeling spread along her barrel like rippling water as she glanced down and watched as her pink fur turned into smooth rubber. Moment by moment, she felt an odd hollowing feeling inside her as the spell reached her fore and hind legs simultaneously as seams appeared. “Mmmm!” Cadance cooed, feeling the slight expansion of her hind quarters, along with something poking out of her on her right thigh. Turning to look, she saw what appeared to be a valve attached to her and was located a few inches above her cutie mark. As she converted, she found her legs pulled out in front of her and laid out behind her with her belly partly propping her up. Her tail soon swelled up as it became rigid yet vibrant as ever. She tried to move her hooves as the spell started moving up to her neck and wings but found that they didn’t respond. Her body felt much lighter and stiff as pressure grew inside her. She was silent as the magic washed over her head and forced her eyes wide while her smile became painted onto her muzzle. Her ears were full of creaks and squeaks as her form started to settle into place.
Shining smiled as he lifted the toy off the floor, setting it on the bed. “Oh, you look very nice, Cadance.”
Cadance found it a bit weird being unable to move and stuck looking straight ahead. Every little touch tingled her form even as Shining moved a hoof along her back and wings. “Mmmm,” She let out a mental gasp as Shining smacked the rump and heard an audible thunk as he did.
“Oh yes, very nice,” Shining said, unaware of how Cadance felt as he floated her up in his magic and headed for the door. The mirror near the door let Cadance see herself more closely, noticing her regalia was all painted on with a bouncy crown on her head. Shining continued his trek heading down the ground floor using the elevator. The inflated princess noticed a few stares here and there. Of course, all the ponies would see was a pool toy upon a stallion’s back and thus didn’t pay her much attention. It was a relief, in a way, to not be so noticeable and let her thoughts wander. As Shining exited the lift and carried her along outside, the cool breeze pleasantly tingled her squeaky skin.
The pool area was full of sounds of joyful fillies and colts with their parents around. Various ponies waved at the prince of the Crystal Empire. Shining waved back, relieved that nopony saw his inflatable wife in the air and tried to crowd around her. He lowered Cadance’s belly into the water before climbing onto his rubbery princess. As the toy bobbed, his hoof circled her side while resting on Cadence's head.
Cadance purred at all the new sensations she was feeling. From the contrast between the warm air and cool pool water to how good Shining’s touches felt. From her fixed viewpoint, she watched a few foals playing with some pool noodles. “Oh, this feels amazing, like a constant massage,” she thought, able to sense every shift Shining made upon her back. A few minutes passed as Shining pushed her about the pool, letting her see new things from time to time.
After about ten minutes, Shining shifted some, moving the toy closer to the edge as he leaned to Cadance’s ear. “I’ll be right back, dear. I just got to use the bathroom,” he said before getting off her to climb out of the water.
“Wait, what!? Don’t leave me,” Cadance mentally whined as her body floated higher in the water without a rider. She caught his tail in her held gaze for only a moment before hearing him rush off. “I hope he won’t be long,” she thought, as the waves caused her to drift slowly away from the edge and float in a random direction. It wasn’t long till one or two fillies saw her as one climbed on her back and bounced up and down giggling.
“Look, a princess,” the young filly chimed, having fun jumping. Cadance was both embarrassed yet feeling joyful at the child’s energy. She felt as happy as her rider.
The mother of the filly looked over at her foal. “Oh, so it is,” she replied.
Cadance saw a few other eyes on her. This time around, she didn’t mind because they were simply admiring a cool pool toy. “Seems I couldn’t avoid attention after all,” she thought but couldn't help but giggle as her form bounced up and down in the water. A few more young foals take turns floating on top of the princess, hugging her neck and letting adults take photos. As it went on, Cadance continued to feel happy about the anonymity of it all. She was just a toy to be adored and enjoyed. She internally moaned with bliss, losing a sense of time with each bounce.
As Shining returned minutes later, he saw the sight of the foals playing with the pool toy and blushed a little. “Oh hehe, Oops,” he remarked, walking his way closer to the gathered ponies. He wondered just how to resolve the situation. Although, Cadance didn’t seem to be in any real danger as more of the colts and fillies took turns on the toy’s back.
Cadance was partly lost in the delightful sensation washing over her form, partly spotting Shining Armor in the corner of her vision. “Mmm, there he is,” she cooed, listening to the energetic laughter of the foals around her. “How will my knight save me?” she giggled.
Shining moved closer to the crowd smiling. “Oh yes, uh, that Cadance pool toy is mine,” he said calmly.
A few looked surprised, while others were confused. “But why aren’t you here with your wife?” one asked.
Shining bit his lip as he contemplated his best excuse. “W-Well,...” he started while stammering. “Cadance is out getting souvenirs for our daughter with a friend that lives here. I told her we should go swimming before then, but she told me her friend doesn’t like waiting too long for other ponies' arrival. And that pool toy was a Hearth’s Warming gift from her. So whenever I feel lonely, I can take that out to the pool and swim with it.” A bead of sweat ran down his brow, hoping the ponies would buy his fib.
The guests mill it over for a few moments before letting the prince pass and climb into the water. A few fillies giggled as he swam over and soon climbed back onto his wife and patted her head. Cadance, all the while, snickered about Shining’s quick thinking. The princess watched as the patriots soon dispersed, leaving Cadance mostly alone with Shining. “Hehe, it's fun being played with,” she thought as Shining kicked his hooves to push her around the pool.
Shining was still a little embarrassed after seeing that little moment. “I’m terribly sorry, darling,” he said apologetically. “I guess you were gonna gain attention after all.” His hoof gently petted the rubbery neck. A memory popped into his mind. “That reminds me of another story Twilight told me while visiting her. She said she tried this spell that backfired on her. It turned her into a plush toy, and everypony came running up to her and started cuddling her and calling her fluffy. It sounded rather strange.” Another ten minutes pass before he finally climbed out of the pool, floating Cadance out with him.
While being carried along, Cadance is amused at the thought of Twilight being a plush. With every little droplet of water falling off her form, she grew to miss the feeling of the pool beneath her wanting to feel its cool embrace. Her form creaked as she soon sat down on the floor of their hotel suite. “Mmm, over already?” she thought.
Shining stretched, shaking off a little bit of leftover water from his fur, before sitting on top of Cadance, his hoof tracing along her flanks. As he freely did so, his hoof brushed up against the valve where it had appeared during Cadance’s transformation. A smirk worked its way onto his muzzle. He did make that compromise with Cadance before she became a pool toy. “You know, it’s always good to put your toys away when done playing,” he teased, knowing there was no way she could protest it.
“Eeep, oh no! My husband is going to deflate me!” Cadance thought, embarrassed. Despite being inanimate, her shiny cheeks managed to tint a cute shade of red as she felt Shining’s hoof fiddle with the valve. As he opened it, the princess felt a shiver run down her rubbery spine as she felt air start to rush out of her. Every push from Shining’s strong hooves caused her to main faintly in her head, her body getting lighter with every push. She felt lightheaded as her form went flat. The next step was to pack her away as Shining placed her on the bed before beginning to fold her limbs and tail. Her vision spun as her form was shifted from side to side, feeling each fold making her more compact, and there was nothing she could do about it. Simply along for the ride.
Shining soon had the toy neatly folded into a square with the princess’s pretty blushing face on the top. Shining kept smirking as he leaned down and kissed the rubbery forehead before unzipping one of the suitcases and moving a few things aside. “Ah, this will do nicely,” he giggled, scooping up the toy before laying the princess into place. He was amused seeing the face redden more.
“Shining, this wasn’t part of the plan!” Cadance whined, helpless as she watched as her husband reached a hoof over her and closed the lid leaving her in the dark. Sounds of the zipper closing echoed in her ears, now packed away soundly. She felt strange stowed like this. Right where a toy belonged, she supposed. It still didn’t make it any less embarrassing.
It was quiet for a while, but after two hours, Cadance heard Shining return to the suite, walking over to the suitcase and opening it up. “Hehehe. Okay, Cady, break is over,” he sang, pulling her out and laying her out.
“Mmhmm, it’s about time,” Cadance mumbled mentally before watching Shining summon a tire pump. He plugged the nozzle into the valve and began to move the plunger to pump air into her form. The soothing air rippled across her body, slowly making her rise and fill out. It took two minutes to inflate, but each rush of air felt amazing. Once he sufficiently filled her up, he brought out a camera from the suitcase and took a picture of Cadance in her rubbery form. He wanted to remember this moment forever. As Shining’s magic began to activate, the princess felt it wash over her once more, sensations returning in force as her rubbery body changed to normal. Cadance took in a deep breath as the transformation finished, stretching out her limbs and sighed. “Oh my, that was an interesting activity, Shining.”
“You did look rather cute floating there. I had a feeling you would like it. Despite all the attention you got in the end.”
Cadance stood up, stretching once more before nuzzling him. “It’s alright, Shining. I still got to relax. Did you really have to deflate me and put me in a suitcase?” She asked with a playful pout.
Shining, in return, gave Cadence's nose a boop. “Oh, of course, it was so I could go shopping for souvenirs for Flurry Heart. Couldn’t leave a toy laying around.”
Cadance rolled her eyes. “Oh ha-ha, maybe next time you’ll be the floater.”
“Maybe we’ll see,” Shining chuckled, showing off two little plushies of a griffon and a dragon and a doll of Princess Luna to his wife. “What do you think?” Cadance let out a squeal with joy.
“Oh my, they’re so adorable!” Cadance cheered happily. “She’ll love them!” She quickly placed her wing around him and nuzzled him once more as they enjoyed each other's company. Overall, a nice fun vacation and experience for both of them. A thought came into her mind. “Hey, before we head home, can we stop at Twilight’s place along the way? I’m really intrigued by these transformation stories she’s been telling you.”
Shining nodded. “Sure,” he replied. “And I would be happy to show her that picture I took of you in your pool toy form. Then, that will be her third transformation story she’ll discover.”
Cadance blushed and rolled her eyes. She then quickly pressed her lips against Shining’s, only to try to forget all those hours of being just a toy she’d been teased enough for one day.
