Author's Note

Because Discord hasn't had as much time as he would have in cannon to be around this AU, "Make New Friends but Keep Discord" really wouldn't happen. And the friendship mission quests wouldn't change like, at all. However, I've been secretly building up something. Better believe that it's time for a new main character.

Chapter 62: Trixie's Permanent Return (Make New Friends but Keep Discord Skip & The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone Background)

As Twilight was waiting to hear from Rainbow Dash & Pinkie Pie about their friendship quest, she and Flash had been doing a castle date when there was a knock at the castle's front door.

"Now who could that be?" Twilight asked before she went to open the door. There, she found none other than Trixie. "Trixie?"

"Yes it is I; the Great and Mysterious Trixie! I have come to grace you with my prescence once more, Princess of Friendship!" Trixie said. "...Yes, Trixie heard the news on her travels. Sorry I wasn't there. Was on tour at the time." She added.

"It's alright Trixie. You've been keeping up with the mail at the least." Twilight said as Flash came up to the two of them.

"So, this is Trixie Lunamoon..." Flash said. "Wait a minute, NOW I recognize you. You're that drop out of Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns." He added.

"...Wow, way to bring up a bit of history I wished to forget..." Trixie said. "Besides, Trixie didn't drop out, she was expelled! There's a HUGE difference." She added.

"That's only because you failed both your mid-term exam AND your re-entry exam." Flash said.

"Well Trixie is not that mare anymore, thanks to Twilight." Trixie said.

"...Wait, you actually helped her?" Flash asked.

"Well, I really wanted to learn Illusion magic. It was the one field of magic I wasn't an expert in." Twilight said.

"And seeing as I wanted to get better at actual magic, it was an easy partnership." Trixie said.

"Though it did bring your half-sister Checkers to Ponyville chasing you. Complete with a magic amulet that made her as powerful as an Alicorn." Twilight said.

"Checkers has always been trying to put Trixie down, and when you helped Trixie become an overall better mare, she became furious that she could not bully Trixie any further." Trixie said.

"Wait, is that why Cherkers Lunamoon is considered highly dangerous?" Flash asked.

"Wow, guess Princess Celestia took that little incident seriously." Twilight said.

"Now come on Twilight. Even if she's your mentor, Princess Celestia is your fellow Princess. You can drop the pretext now." Trixie said.

"You too Trixie?" Twilight asked.

"Guessing she already wanted you to do that huh?" Trixie asked.

"...Yeah..." Twilight said.

"Wow. In that case, your former mentor is outright giving you PERMISSION to do so. So why not take it?" Trixie asked.

"...I'll think about it." Twilight said.

"...It's almost like I'm not even here." Flash said.

"Sorry Flash. Guess we got a little carried away." Twilight said.

"Yes. Trixie is sorry." Trixie said.

"I suppose it's fine. Honestly, it was kind of fun to see you two bounce off each other like that. Guess that's what makes you such good friends." Flash said.

"Speaking of, don't know what purpose you have for your visit this time Trixie, but thankfully, the only thing to note is that Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie are off on a friendship mission." Twilight said.

"...Friendship Mission? What's that?" Trixie asked.

"HOLY CELESTIA, THAT IS A BIG MAP!" Trixie said once she saw the friendship map.

"Yeah. I think this covers all of Equestria and a couple of surrounding areas." Twilight said.

"Oh you bet it does. Trixie recognizes everything here." Trixie said.

"So why are you here anyways?" Flash asked.

"Yeah. Your last letter said you'd be back in a couple more weeks." Twilight said.

"That was Trixie's original plan. But..." Trixie bit her lip. "...Trixie...has been everywhere she can..." She added.

"...Say what?" Twilight said.

"I'm serious Twilight. I've seen everything Equestria has to offer. My last show was in Manehatten. That was where my show before Ponyville was. And once I had finished that, that's when it struck me: I've gone full circle, Twilight. There is literally no where in Equestria where I haven't been." Trixie said.

"...You...you just said that whole thing without once talking in third person..." Twilight said. "You only do something like that when it's serious." She added.

"Yes. That is why Trixie has decided that she will be moving to ponyville on a permanent basis." Trixie said. "Considering the size of this castle, I'm sure you can afford to have me around here." She added.

"Well...that's not something I thought I'd be hearing today." Twilight noted.

A couple of minutes later, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie showed up. "Oh, speaking of Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie." Flash said.

"Hey we're back. Also, hi Trixie." Rainbow Dash said.

"Hello Rainbow Dash." Trixie said. "Well then, Trixie has things to unpack." She said and left.

"...Wait, what's that about her unpacking?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I say we swap stories, because I'm sure all of us have something to mention." Flash Sentry said.

"OOOOOOO! I LOVE SWAPPING STORIES! I mean I've never done them, but it sounds super mega ultra fun like super mega awesomely so!" Pinkie Pie said.

"...Pinkie, you can really give out headaches sometimes, even when I'm not trying to understand you." Twilight said.

Every pony just laughed before they swapped stories that day.
