Author's Note

Your probably looking at the chapter title right now and are probably wondering which episode this chapter takes place alongside. Well for that, you'd have to read this blog post of mine: Draconic Sister Announcement - Fimfiction

And yeah, if it was obvious from the title, I will be doing my best to make Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon more involved with the story going forward. Because seriously, after their reformation, they make non-speaking role cameos from this point forward in the show, and that upsets me. Why they didn't follow up from the reformation, I have no idea.

Chapter 68: Improving One's Self

"Wow, so this is your clubhouse." Silver Spoon said. She & Diamond Tiara were at the CMC's clubhouse.

"By the way White Flame? I am...sorry about Carol." Diamond Tiara said.

"It was her time. I just wish I would've had more time with her." White Flame said. He sighed. "It's going to be lonely at home without her." He added.

"Do you think you could get another pet snake?" Diamond Tiara asked.

"Diamond, that's not very nice to ask. Carol was very special to White Flame." Silver Spoon said.

"No, that was actually a very valid question because I...I just don't know yet." White Flame said. "Trying to think of what Carol would prefer me to do...has me wondering if I should actually try and get a new pet snake." He added.

That actually made Silver Spoon look at him. "Are you...are you serious? Do you believe you could just replace Carol like that?" Silver Spoon asked.

"Silver Spoon, can't you see White Flame is struggling? It's obvious that he's struggling with this enough as it is." Diamond Tiara said.

"I'm...actually surprised Diamond Tiara is being so understanding..." Babs Seed said. She was visiting from Manehatten.

"Tell me about it." Smolder said. She and Spike were there too.

"Well ah know one thing..." Apple Bloom said. "Even if you do get a new pet snake, Carol will always have a place here." She said, putting a hoof to White Flame's chest.

That made White Flame Smile. "Th-thank you, Apple Bloom." White Flame said.

"Dang, no wonder you two like each other. I still have some ways to go before I'm more comfortable with talking with any colts like that. I want to get better as a pony. Being shown a better way was just the start honestly." Diamond Tiara said.

"Growing from your mistakes...I've been there you know. I told you." White Flame said.

"Still can't believe we have someone who basically went Nightmare Moon but turned up to eleven living in Ponyville." Silver Spoon said.

"Silver Spoon!" Diamond Tiara said.

"That's actually a fair assessment. Yeah, it's made me more self-aware of things, but I feel like I can become a pony better then I used to be. It helps that this world is so full of friendship and hope." White Flame said.

"From what I understand, it took ponies nearly freezing to death over not trusting the other races to come together like this." Scootaloo said.

"Err...no offense, but since when did you learn about that?" Apple Bloom said.

"The hearth's warming play my mom and her friends did in canterlot that one time. Duh." Scootaloo said.

"Huh...you know, I sort of forgot that was a thing. My how long it's been since then." White Flame said.

"Yeah, no kidding." Spike said.

The group would then head for the nearby lake. "So why are we here?" Diamond Tiara asked. "I know I asked you to help me become a better pony, but I fail to see how this factors into that." She added.

"It was White Flame's idea." Apple Bloom said.

"Never been Waterboarding before? It can be kind of fun." White Flame said.

"Fun? Is there a point to me having fun?" Diamond Tiara asked.

"You mean outside of just having fun for the sake of having fun?" Scootaloo asked.

"We're foals. This sort of thing should be normal. Plus, don't you want to loosen up a bit? Well then learning to just have fun with other foals is a good start to that." White Flame said.

"Err...but won't Diamond's mom get mad over this?" Silver Spoon asked.

"Why should I care what she thinks of what I do? I'm doing this! I've never tried having plain old fun before." Diamond Tiara said.

"That's the spirit." White Flame said.

"Some pony please tell me where that lone tree came from?" Silver Spoon said. She and the rest of the foals were covered in tree sap. The two dragons however, were not.

"More importantly, how in equestria did we manage to all crash into it? The only tree around for miles, and we ran into it." Rumble said.

"Be nice Rumble. We all had fun. Wasn't that the important part?" Scootaloo asked.

"I guess...still sucks we all got covered in tree sap." Rumble said.

"My sister is gonna make sure I have a bath when we get back in town." Sweetie Belle said.

Button Mash looked at his crush. "...I thought my mother was picky about how clean I am..." He said.

"Her sister is Rarity, in case you forgot." Apple Bloom said.

"Oh right. Yeah we're all taking a bath when we get back." Button Mash said.

"Wait...we are covered in tree sap right? This isn't an illusion?" Silver Spoon asked.

"Yeah. what's the problem?" White Flame said.

"...Uh..." Babs Seed was looking at Diamond Tiara who was looking at every pony.

"Oh..." White Flame said.

But then Diamond Tiara smiled. "You know...I bet we all look very silly right now~" Diamond Tiara said, before she started having a giggle fit.

The other foals and even the two dragons just stared at the pink earth pony.

Later that day, every pony was heading home. "So, what was that Diamond Tiara?" Silver Spoon asked her friend.

"What was what?" Diamond Tiara asked.

"How come you didn't get mad at...you know..." Silver Spoon said.

"And what would that have accomplished? White Flame was right, I should try to loosen up more. So I figured I'd try making light of a huge mess." Diamond Tiara said before she headed home by herself.

"...I am so not going to get used to the new Diamond Tiara." Silver Spoon said.

Meanwhile, there were a pair of colts watching. "I don't buy this..." One of them said.

"Me neither. No way Diamond Tiara has changed for good." Another said.

"Hey, what are you two doing in this bush?" White Flame said.

"RUN!" The two colts; Snips and Snails; ran for it.

"...Yeah I miss Carol already..." White Flame said before heading home himself.
