Orbital Dispersed Action Marines O.D.A.M.'s
The Orbital Marine checked her powered armor ratings again, not liking their situation. She hunched over as another explosion hit the column she was behind. Barely looking around the column, the Marine spotted the airlock across the storage bay. She yanked her head back and hunched over as the alien’s released another barrage. She raised her head and made eye contact with the glowing eyes of her fellow Orbital Marine. Her comrade's armor was a light cyan with her left shoulder plate being stripped rainbow. The other Marine nodded, it was time to go. Together, they shouldered their respective, bulky, assault rifles and racked the charging handles.
Simultaneously, the two Marines left the cover and sprinted, heading to the other side of the room. Just in time as one of the aliens had thrown a high explosive grenade at where they used to be. The Marines dove over the first boxes headfirst. The Cyan Marine rolling in midair to face to the right, firing while her Lavender counter-part fired at the aliens straight ahead. Both tucked their heads down as the grenade behind them imploded. The grenade's shock wave helped the Marines roll as they hit the
floor and began running again, almost halfway there.
The Cyan Marine angled her body to the right while dashing to fire at the cluster of aliens. Her Lavender partner covered her comrade's front as there were few to none on her left needing killing. Another grenade blew, throwing shrapnel that left a big scuff on her left shoulder. Partially ruining the elongated eight pointed star. Slightly angered, the Marine quickly drilled a three round burst into the alien that had thrown the offending device. Neither Marine said anything on their open mic channel, only listening to each other's heavy breathing and occasional grunts. A bigger than normal alien jumped in front of them, carrying a very large cannon held at it’s waist. Without word, both Marines fell backwards and slid legs first, massive cannon rounds flew over them, only a foot over them. They slid to the small barrier wall in the middle of the wall, stopping and crouching behind it.
The Lavender Marine raised her assault rifle and racked the under barrel shot-gun. The Cyan Marine nodded and stood.
She walked along the wall firing at the alien, successfully drawing his attention towards her. The alien lumbered towards the wall, trying to get a better angle on her. The Lavender Marine waited than jumped up and blew apart the alien's chest at point blank range, she stood still as purple blood splashed across her armor, not being very visible against her Lavender color paint job.
Both Marines vaulted over than took off running again, the Cyan Marine ran a little behind the Lavender now taking point.
Another large alien ran out to meet them, although with no weapon, this one planned to tear them apart with it's bare hands.
The Lavender Marine slid the bulky assault rifle on her back, locking it in place. With nothing in her arms she took off faster now. The Cyan Marine followed suit and holstered the large rifle. Sprinting faster, the Lavender leapt onto a cargo box tan flipped over the alien, barely brushing his head. As she went upside down, the Lavender Marine drew her sidearm and started firing into it's back.
The Cyan Marine, not to be outdone, slammed into the alien's chest with the eight inch standard issue knife in hand and plunged into it's neck. The Cyan yanked her knife out and rolled away, coming back up to her feet next to the already running Lavender Marine. Almost out.
They ran towards the airlock, assault rifles in hand again. Six alien's dropped down from above in front of the airlock. The Cyan raises her assault rifle and fired at the red crate next to the airlock. With a loud explosion in the confined station, the crate blew, blowing the airlock open. The aliens tumbled out in the sudden vacuum and the Marines went with the flow. The leapt and went flying out the broken air lock and into space. They rolled and twisted as they tumbles through the alien mass, graceful swans among charging bulls. All the while stabbing and shooting the enemies.
The armored Marines turned away from the sprawling mass of bodies and angled themselves down, feeling the heat start to build up as they plunged through the atmosphere.
The Lavender Marine listened to her comrade's heavy breathing and heard her's match it. They shot through the lower clouds, aiming for one of the tropical islands.
Together the flipped over and braced their legs, knowing full well that they'd be lucky to be even found in one piece.
They simultaneously slammed into the ground, creating two deep furrows. Both Marines rolled and flipped slamming face first into sand.
The Lavender Marine's armor systems came back online first, only being out for a few moments. The helmet's glowing eyes flickered then came back on strong. She put her hands down and brought herself to her knee, flexing her fingers and cracking her neck. She looked around briefly and tapped the Cyan Marine's shoulder blade. The fellow Marine's eyes lit up, almost as if responding to the tapping.
The Lavender Marine grabbed her rifle and stood, taking in her surroundings. In front of the two Marines stood a massive coastal defense base. The Marine ran hand down her face while her Cyan partner stood. The other Marine grabbed what would have been the bridge of her nose had it not been for the helmet as the numerous, massive, cannon turrets of the base swiveled and pointed at the crash landed pair.
