Starlight the Nightguard: Five Night's at Freddy'sby Catpaw616ChaptersHesitation and PersuasionNight 1: The BeginningNight 2: DiscoveriesNecessaryNight 3: A New ChallengerNight 4: Drawing NearNight 5: One Last TimeHesitation and PersuasionStarlight awoke from her bed and brushed her mane to get rid of the tangles that hid in her purple and turquoise mane. Then she headed downstairs and made some haycakes for breakfast. As she set her plate down, she heard a knock on Twilight's door. Starlight opened the door to see a mail pony at the steps with a newspaper in its mouth. Starlight grabbed the newspaper with her magic and nodded in thanks. When she got back to the table, she sipped a drink from her mug and read the articles. Some were shocking and boring, and some that she just didn't care. But she found an article that caught her eye. Help Wanted Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Family pizzeria looking for security guard to work the nightshift. 12 am to 6 am. Monitor cameras, ensure safety of equipment and animatronic characters. Not responsible for injury/dismemberment. $120 a week. Starlight felt a little creeped out when she saw the "not responsible for injury/dismemberment." part of the newspaper. Plus, the bear in the picture looked creepy too. Just then, Twilight entered the room, along with Spike. "Good morning, Starlight!" Twilight said in her usual cherry tone. "Good morning, Twilight." Starlight greeted more hesitantly. Twilight's head titled to one side. "Something wrong?" "Nothing." Starlight rustled the newspaper and turned the page. "Just a weird ad about a pizzeria called Freddy Fazbear's Pizzera, and that weird note near the end. But nothing too big." "Oh no." Spike stopped what he was doing and stared at Starlight. "You said it." "Said what?" Starlight asked, confused. But was caught off guard when Twilight instantly grabbed the newspaper with her magic. "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza?" Twilight said in excitement. "This has to be a sequel to Fredbear's Family Diner!" she continued reading the article. "...what." Starlight tried to comprehend what she just heard. "There's more resturants that are owned by the same company? And what kind of name is Fredbear?" Twilight stopped reading the newspaper and put on shocked face. "Starlight, you haven't heard of Fredbear's Diner? It used to be a very famous restaurant until..." she put on a grim expression. "Until what?" Starlight asked, but from the look on Twilight's face, she might regret asking that question. Twilight shook her head. "You don't want to know. It's pretty grim." But Spike joined in and put down his plate with jewels stuffed with muffins onto the table. "Basically, a colt died by an animatronic there. He got shoved into its mouth." Spike answered, but when Twilight gave him a warning signal, it was too late. "An... animatronic did this?" Starlight was even more terrified now. She might not look at an animatronic the same way again. "But that was a long time ago, and times have improved since then." she said dismissively. "But even though the incident happened, it was still a very fun place to be in." "Really?" Starlight looked skeptical. "When I was a filly, my dad took me to restaurants with animatronics, and I never viewed them as 'entertaining'. She shivered, remembering what the animatronics looked like. The weird eyes, the creepy music... She looked at the newspaper again and back at Starlight. "This may sound weird and sudden, but I think you need to take this job." Starlight instantly spats out her drink and almost choked. "WHAT?" "I know now that you don't like animatronics, but just look at this payment. And besides, you need to step outside your comfort zone a bit." She could not believe what she was hearing. "B-B-But my comfort zone is a good zone, and I would prefer to stay that way." "But you were out of your comfort zone when you defeated Chrysalis. And look how much you've changed since then. Why should this be any different? Besides, it might be fun!" "You're crazy if you think I'll work in that pizzera." Starlight spat. She turned to Spike who was peacefully eating his muffins. "Spike, help me out." Spike simply shrugged. Twilight put a hoof on Starlight's shoulder. "Look, I know that you don't want to do this, but I think it's worth giving it a try, and knowing that it may not be so bad after all." Starlight glared at Twilight for a few moments but sighed in defeat. "Fine. But I'm working for only one week. No more than that." I pray to Celestia that nothing goes wrong. It was the dead of night when Starlight traveled to Freddy's. She did not enjoy being on the outskirts of Ponyville, but she just shrugged it off. All she cared about is to get this week over with or else she will never hear the end of Twilight lecturing her of "giving up so easily because you're scared or something." Starlight finally arrived at the facility. It looked even creepier in nighttime. Starlight could make out the logo of the facility. She recognized Freddy but didn't know the other three animatronics. Funny that the logo makes them look cuter than the actual animatronics. She went inside the restaurant and felt startled when she saw the animatronics standing in pitch darkness. Their mouths hanging open and their eyes staring at nothing. This will be fun. Just then she heard galloping, and she turned around to see a black and white unicorn walk towards her. "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza! Which-" he stopped to get a piece of paper with his magic and read what it said. "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where kids and adults can enjoy good pizza while hanging out with their furry friends." he said flatly. "I have to say this everytime someone new comes in." Starlight just smiled nervously, still creeped out by the animatronics. "Anyways," the unicorn put the paper away. "I assume you are here for the night shift?" Starlight shrugged, trying to hide the nervousness that was rising inside her body. "Yeah, I guess." "Hmm..." the stallion stared at her. "I still don't get why ponies want this job, but I guess I can show you around the area. You have to remember them in order to really do a good job with guarding." "Won't I have cameras?" Starlight asked, confused by his statement. "Just take it from me. The areas are important to remember, ok?" “Well, there is your office.” he showed the mare. Starlight investigated the area. The front wall was caked with artwork that was seemingly made by foals, and next to the artworks was a poster of Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica, and it said “Celebrate!” on top. “There is your monitor.” the black stallion pointed. “And I would explain more but we recorded a call for new night guards here, so I don’t need to go on and on about what you need to do.” Starlight just looked around the room and sat down on the chair. “Enjoy your night here.” the black stallion said. “I hope you make it out.” “What.” Starlight was caught off guard by the last sentence, but the stallion walked off. The lights except the ones in the office went dim and heard the restaurant doors slam shut and heard the doors lock. This was it; it was the night that Starlight would conquer her fears of hating animatronics. Author's Note Starlight is going to have fun working at Freddy's :D Night 1: The Beginning 12 AM The night began. Instantly regretting her life choices, Starlight stared at the monitor and spotted the animatronics. You guys look ugly. I do not get why kids like you. Just then a loud ringtone rang in the office, which startled Starlight so much that she almost fell out of her seat. Starlight couldn’t believe it. I am usually not this jumpy. she thought bitterly, then calmed down. It’s fine. I can do this. Being more prepared and on guard, she picked up the phone. ”Hello? Hello, hello? Erm, I wanted to record a message for you on your first night.” a male voice was heard on the phone. “Ok.” Starlight said as she looked at the cameras with a bored look. "Now I will have to warn you before I continue, the animatronics do get quirky at night... like tend to wonder around the resturant..." Starlight’s heart almost stopped. “What do you mean ‘quirky at night?!’” she screamed at the phone, even though it's a voice message and it would not directly respond to her question. ”And your first week can be a bit overboard, but you will get used to it as you continue to work this job for the rest of the week." Nope. It was bad enough that she had to watch over creepy animatronics, but now she has to deal with animatronics that move around. With that knowledge in her head, she quickly put on her monitor and stared at them through the cameras. But then she noticed a percentage at the bottom left of her screen. "What is this?" she asked aloud. Starlight realized that the message was still on. She figured that it’s wise to listen to him since he might say useful information that could help her. ”You know, the animatronics used to wonder around in the day, you know. But then there was the Bite of ‘87... yeah its amazing how a pony can live without the frontal lobe.” The Bite of ‘87... could that be the bite that Twilight was talking about? A kid that got shoved in an animatronic’s mouth? Starlight thought deeply. But according to Spike, the victim died, but according to this guy, the victim lived. Unless the victim did die, and he was just saying that to make me feel better. Well it didn’t work. It made Starlight more scared than ever about what an animatronic can do to a pony... "They seem to have certain malfunctions when it comes to certain things. But then again, they haven't been cleaned in 20 years so honestly malfunctions like that are no surprise to me." Malfunction? It didn't sound like a malfunction. More like a horrible accident. Starlight thought. The story was starting to confuse her now but honestly, she didn't mind. She doesn't want to hear any more about what happened in past. After a few moments of listening to the phone guy, she checked the monitor again. But when she checked the Main Stage camera, Bonnie disappeared. "WHAT?" Starlight screamed. "THEY ACTUALLY MOVE? I THOUGHT THEY WERE KIDDING!" She quickly checked all the cameras until she spotted Bonnie near the tables with birthday hats. "HI." Starlight said in a high-pitched voice when she saw Bonnie's silhouette at the camera that faced the tables and the party hats. "Alright, have a good night, and I'll talk to you tomorrow." The message stopped. "Oh, good you finally shut up. Now I can panic in peace without having to hear you." Starlight said as she checked the cameras again. Bonnie was still there, and the others haven't moved yet. Starlight realized that she was panting so hard that she is almost going to pass out. "Calm down, Starlight." she said to herself. "Deep breathes, deep breathes..." She checked the cameras and noticed that Bonnie was gone, and the chicken was missing from the stage, with Freddy the only one remaining. "NO." Starlight desperately clicked the cameras around to find them. But found Chica in the Restrooms camera, while she found Bonnie in the Backstage camera and was startled by Bonnie's face being extremely close to the camera. His eyes were all black with only his tiny white pupils remaining. Starlight wished that she brought a paper bag with her if this was going to cause her this much stress. But normally she never has too. She was known to be calm and cool when it comes to situations like this, but this is a whole other level. Chrysalis was one threat but being hunted down by robotic animatronics is a new kind of threat. She checked the cameras again and saw Chica and Bonnie remain in the same position, but when she checked Pirates Cove, she saw the torso and the head of Foxy the Pirate peeking out of the purple curtains. "HELLO." Starlight raised her voice again and blocked her mouth. Why does she talk like that now? She had to control herself if she is going to make it through the night. Speaking of which, she checked her clock and it said 2:00 AM. Normally Starlight would be really tired by then, but with threatening animatronics literally right near her, she was up and ready. However, her battery was at 50% I guess this is wasting power Starlight looked at her monitor. I guess I better be careful with it. She resumed back to her duties, and Starlight's eyes widened with alarm when she saw Bonnie and Chica at both of the hallways, getting extremely close to her office. "Yay! The creepos are coming to my office now!" Starlight said to nothing. Starlight immediately checked the lights, only to find nothing. Starlight looked at the monitor again. Foxy was out of Pirate's Cove, but its head was crooked heavily at the right. “Stop moving for the love of Celestia.” Starlight groaned. “I’m dealing with your friends here.” Just then she heard a groan from her left side and saw Bonnie standing at the doorway. Its eyes were dark as night and let out some static noises. Starlight immediately closed the left door, letting out a sigh of relief. But then she turned on the light on her right side to see Chica staring at her through the window, her expression the same as Bonnie’s, but blood was trickling from her mouth. Starlight literally leapt to the other side of the room and pushed the button to close the door. “No way I am doing this for another six days.” Starlight groaned. She was literally out of breath. After a few seconds, she heard banging on her left door, causing her power to decrease. Starlight turned to see that she had 25% of power left, and the doors kept draining it by the second. Although she didn’t want too, she opened the doors when she saw that the animatronics had left and went farther away from the office. But that won’t last long. She checked on Pirate’s Cove and saw that Foxy had returned to his corner. She checked the time. It was 5 AM Just one more hour left... She checked the cameras and saw Bonnie and Chica getting closer, Freddy remained still the whole time, and Foxy remained where he was. But when Starlight looked at one of the East Hall’s cameras, she almost jumped in fright when she saw the posters of Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica being replaced with black posters featuring three kids crying their eyes out. What does this mean? Starlight said in deep thought, although she felt her body shake with tension. Could this be the drawing of the kid that died in Fredbear’s Family Diner? Or is there more to it? Even when she was wrestling with the animatronics, she had a lot of questions about the pizzeria. Why are the animatronics out for Starlight? The dude on the phone probably had an answer for me, but I was so scared that I ignored it. Starlight sighed. She hated being here, like, a lot. But something told her that she needed to learn more about Freddy’s, and Fredbear. Secrets that were hidden from the world. and whether the Fazbear franchise is safe or not. Most likely not safe. And whatever secrets that are in this building, she will be the one to bring them to light. Even if it means being here for more nights. I hate myself for doing this. 6 AM finally arrived and Starlight was greeted by the same stallion when he returned to the pizzeria. She told him about the robots that tried to kill her, but the stallion denied Starlight’s claim, but Starlight knew that he wasn’t listening to himself. And the stallion, for whatever reason, rejoiced when Starlight said that she will come back tomorrow for her other shift, despite Starlight’s conscience telling her it was a bad idea. She returned to Twilight’s castle for a long nap. She was so tired that she ignored Twilight’s greetings and headed to her room. When she laid down on her comfy bed, she now had questions whether it was worth her life learning the secrets of Freddy Fazbear. I’m not doing this for me, I’m doing it so people will be wary of this franchise and know what a dangerous resturant it is. Starlight thought. No one would believe her if she told ponies that the robots from Freddy’s attacked her at night. Plus, she would most likely be fired if she spreaded “false information” about the restaurant. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, trying her best to hide the fact that she had to deal with it all again tonight. Night 2: Discoveries Starlight arrived at Freddy's Pizzeria. But only this time, she was ready for what she has to face. She now knew the routine, the strategy, and most importantly, how to keep her cool. Freddy and his friends won't stop her tonight. She opened the restaurant doors and was greeted by the same unicorn from yesterday. This time, he was wearing a dark grey uniform with a golden security badge on it. "Time for me to turn in for the night." The unicorn said to her. "You know the drill, watch over the animatronics, and of course, don't die." No, really? Starlight thought sarcastically, but she just nodded. "Alright, I'll lock the doors, and I'll see you tomorrow." The unicorn passed by Starlight, but before he could leave, Starlight touched his shoulder. "Just out of curiosity, what is your name? Since I will be here for a while I might as well know." "Oh, my name is Liles. Liles Burton." he replied. He exited the restaurant, and locked the doors, leaving Starlight alone again. "Liles..." Starlight thought. "I'll remember that." Before she went to her office, Starlight walked over to where Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica stood on the stage. "Listen here, you gave me quite a fright last night." She said to them. "But don't think that you can get me so easily." She looked towards Pirate Cove that was nearby. "And that goes to you too, fox." Starlight felt like she was crazy. Talking to animatronics? Who even does that? But she wanted them to know that if she was going down, she will not be going down without a fight. Starlight sighed deeply when she saw the clock go to 12 AM . The terror has now begun. A few moments later, the phone rang again suddenly, making Starlight jump once more. Oh come on! I need to not be like this. Starlight thought in frustration. She answered the message. Uh hello? Hello? Well, if you are hearing this message, then congrats on making it through last night. "Thanks." Starlight said bluntly. *Cough* Well, it might be a good idea to continue your duties while I talk. They are more active as the week progresses... and honestly we don't really know why. "Yeah because I would rather stop to listen to you all day." Starlight rolled her eyes. However what the phone guy said turned out to be true, as when she checked the Main Stage, Bonnie was gone. "You got to be kidding me. We're not five minutes in yet you're already moving." Although what Phone Guy said next caught her attention. Now, I would advise you to check on Pirate Cove more regularly. Erm... mostly because the character behind the curtain won't be active as much if the camera is always directed on him. But of course, try to keep an eye out for the others too. Stare. All I have to do is stare. Starlight will try to remember the phone guy's tips in her mind. Once the message ended, she saw Foxy's head appear from the curtain. "I know what to do with you now. Don't like being watched, huh?" Starlight mocked. She turned to see Bonnie staring at her through the door. Trying her best not to scream, she closed the door with her magic instead of jumping across the room like she did yesterday. "Yes, you've been shunned. Join your weird chicken friend or whatever." Since Bonnie and Chica were not much of a threat at the moment, Starlight looked at the Pirate's Cove camera from her monitor, although she has to remind herself not to drain her power. She noticed that the sign said: "Sorry! "Out of order!" This now brought in more questions. Why is Foxy out of order? Speaking of which, on the monitor, she can hear a deep humming coming from Pirate's Cove. Starlight assumed it came from Foxy, although she didn't realize that Foxy can sing still. Who would think that Foxy could sing since he is out of order? And come to think of it: how can the animatronics be alive at night? Sure it must be a feature added to them like a "night mode," but something told her that it was more than that. What if the answer was as bad as Starlight would think? I made a promise to myself that I was going to uncover the secrets of this place. And dammit, I will keep that promise. Starlight checked the cameras and found out that the Kitchen camera was disabled, and heard some noises on the camera. Starlight could hear pots and pans clattering, but she has no idea who's making them. She decided that if it wasn't important, then she should ignore it. Starlight was still surprised that Freddy still remained on stage the whole time. Phone Guy implied that he was a big threat, but so far, as much as Starlight knew, Freddy didn't move a single inch since she started working here. Which is good. One less pain off of my back. However, as the night went on, Starlight found other weird things... While she was fending herself off to the animatronics, she saw that on one of her cameras, there was a poster that replaced Freddy's usual poster with the one that looked like Freddy was ripping his own head off. Weirded out by the mysterious poster, Starlight looked at the other cameras, Bonnie and Chica were once again in the hallways. "You guys are so predictable. Its honestly not fun anymore." Starlight said to the animatronics, although knowing that they didn't hear her. Starlight looked at the clock and it read 4 AM. Not a bad night this time. Although I'm sure the next night will be far worse. Starlight said she sat down in her chair. And Starlight didn't need to worry about power. She had 30% of power left. This night was a breeze. Once Starlight's shift was over, she waited for Liles to come inside the restaurant, and when he did, he gave a warm nod. "You're getting good at this now." he said as he walked towards her. "You learn a thing or two." Starlight shrugged. "But, mind if I ask you, do you know who owns this company?" Liles tilted his head. "What do you mean?" "I mean, who operates this resturant? Who made the animatronics? And come to thing of it, who was in charge of Fredbear's Family Diner before it got shut down?" "Oh." Liles understood now. "They were owned by two stallions, Henry Emily and William Afton. Good ponies, those two. Although," Starlight tilted her head. "What is it?" Liles stared at the animatronics nervously, but afterwards he replied, "When this resturant opened two years ago, Henry's daughter was killed sometime after the grand opening. Henry did not take her death very well, but then things got worse in Fredbear's Family Diner when the Bite of '83 happened, and unfortunately for Henry, he was forced to close his restaurant down." "The Bite of '83?" Starlight was taken aback. "But I thought that was the Bite of '87." Liles sadly shook his head. "No, the Bite of '87 either took place here, or in the other location, I don't know." Starlight felt herself shaking. Two incidents? And no one thought of shutting these restaurants down? At least they took down Fredbear's restaurant but why did they keep this place open? Where there could be the possibility that a murder happened? "And to make matters worse for Henry, there's The Missing Foals Incident that has been happened a while back." Liles sighed. "The what?" Starlight didn't quite catch the last part. Did he say missing foals? But Liles completely shook his head and put on a happy expression. "Don't worry, just go enjoy your freedom while you have it. I'll handle this here." "But," Starlight didn't expect to leave but Liles kept trying to push her out. "I'll be fine, Starlight. Just be here tonight for your third night shift. Ok?" before Starlight could respond, Liles walked away and closed the doors when he pushed her out. "Rude." Starlight said when she walked away. Strange how he let go of the grim matter so quickly. It was as if he was hiding something... But thanks to Lile's testimony, there is more secrets about this place instead of the Bites. First Henry's daughter and now the Missing Foals Incident. Will this ever end? But the more important question is, how did I get myself into this? Sighing, she walked to where her home town is, which is not too far away. And once she gets back, she hoped she had the energy to say "hi." to Twilight and Spike this time if they are there. Then something hit Starlight. Since Twilight is a geek when it comes to this franchise, maybe she will give me some kind of answer or some clues as to what happened in all of the incidents. But will I be prepared for what answer she will give me? Only one way to find out. NecessaryAuthor's Note I forgot to adress the Bite of '87 and Bite of '83 confusion in my blog about me clearing up some of the potential questions about this series. So now I will do that here. So everyone knows that the Bite of '87 clearly means the Bite of 1987. And I just cleared up that this story takes place in Season 7, so is there a reason why its called "87"? When I first started making this story, I did not think that any FNAF events would contradict anything in the pony universe. Cuz the main idea was for Starlight to experience the frightening adventure as a night guard with Freddy and his friends like in the game. Nothing else. But then I thought more about it and realize that maybe I should try to blend in the FNAF and MLP verse so it would make more sense. And I hope it did so far. So the Bite of '83 and the Bite of '87 are numbers that they came up with as to when the events happened after the franchise opened its doors. So the Bite of '83 takes place 3 years after the franchise was created, and the Bite of '87 takes place 7 years after the franchise created. So they kinda kept track. This will be explained as the series goes on, but for now, just bear with this fact. This shit is hard to answer when you haven't thought of things clearly when writing a new story, and I didn't think things clearly but I am paying the price. I made this thought-provoking hell and I am trying to tame it. Anyways, enjoy this chapter. And apologies if its rushed, but I just wanted y'all to have a sneak peek on how the job not only affects Starlight, but Twilight as well. Necessary After having a five hour nap in her bedroom, Starlight walked towards the library where Twilight was organizing some books, as usual. "Twilight?" Starlight peeked her head inside the door. "Are you busy? I want to ask something from you and I don't want to interrupt." "Oh you're not interrupting anything, come in!" Twilight greeted her and set some books down on a nearby table. Starlight walked inside the room and closed the door behind her. She looked at her left side to see Spike sleeping on one of the pillows with a candle safely nearby. "I didn't expect you to pop in." Twilight admitted. "Ever since you worked at Freddy's you never had time for us anymore since you've been overly tired." "Well Twilight, you're the one insisted that I work this job." Starlight retorted back. "And I work for six hours straight at the dead of night. Of course I'm going to be tired." "Fair enough." Twilight said with a small tint of sadness. She cleared her throat. "So you said you have some questions?" "Yes. I want to know the history of the Fredbear's Family Diner, and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza." "Starlight!" Twilight looked taken aback. "My, my, I did not expect you to ask me questions about the history of Fredbear and Freddy's. Since I just assumed that you didn't want anything to do with the restaurant in general." "Believe me, I want to stay away from Freddy's Pizzeria as much as possible, but the restaurant has some hidden secrets and a history that just cannot be ignored." she answered back. "What do you mean by hidden secrets?" Twilight tilted her head. "Well, Liles, the pony who manages the place, I think, said that there was an incident called The Missing Foals Incident and I was wondering if you heard anything about it." Twilight was in deep thought. "Yes, I heard about the incident a while back. And it was not one of the most pleasant news I heard..." "Do you know what happened?" "How can any pony not?" Twilight went through one of the bookshelfs near the top and pulled out four pieces of ripped newspaper articles from a book. "Read these." Starlight levitated the papers and read them one by one. Foals vanish at local pizzeria - bodies not found. Two local foals were reportedly lured into a back room during the late hours of operation at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza on the night of June 26th. While video surveillance identified the pony responsible and led to his capture the following morning, the foals themselves were never found and are presumed dead. Police think that the suspect dressed as a mascot to earn the foal's trust. Five foals now reported missing. Suspect convicted. Five foals are now linked to the incident at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where a stallion dressed as a cartoon mascot lured them into a back room. While the suspect has been charged, the bodies themselves were never found. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has been fighting an uphill battle ever since to convince families to return to the pizzeria. "It's a tragedy." Local pizzeria threatened with shutdown over sanitation. Local pizzeria, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has been threatened again with shutdown by the health department over reports of foul odor coming from the much-loved animal mascots. Police were contacted when parents reportedly noticed what appeared to be blood and mucus around the eyes and mouths of mascots. One parent alikened them to "reanimated carcasses". Local pizzeria said to close by year's end. After a long struggle to stay in business after the tragedy that struck there many years ago, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza has announced that it will close by year's end. Despite a year-long search for a buyer, companies seem unwilling to be associated with the company. "These characters will live on. In the hearts of foals, these characters will live on." - CEO Starlight couldn't believe what she just read. "Tragic, I know." Twilight sipped her drink that was on the nearby end table. "F-Foals have died in Freddy Fazbear's? In the back room?" "Seems so. Freddy Fazbear definitely has a checkered past." Twilight took the notes from Starlight and put them back where she had them. “Are you saying you know that Freddy’s is a death trap?” Starlight was both angry and sad at the same time. “Why did you send me there in the first place knowing that a murder happened there?!” “Relax, Starlight.” Twilight raised both of her hooves, although Starlight can see a tiny glint of hurt in her eyes. “I knew that a murder happened at that place, but I didn’t know that animatronics were on a killing rampage at night. If I did, I would never have sent my former pupil there.” Starlight's expression softened and calmed down. Why would she think that Twilight would want to hurt her? She wouldn't do that? Will she? No. "I'm sorry, Twilight." Starlight rubbed her forehead. "Things have been stressful lately... and these sudden new incidents I'm learning about are not helping me at all..." "That's why I was shocked that you asked." Twilight explained. "Honestly Starlight, if it helps you mentally, its ok to quit." Twilight reached her hoof to Starlight, but after hearing the last part, she smacked it away. "I'm not quitting." she insisted. "Even though my conscience is still begging for me to quit, I won't let a few creepy animatronics scare me into leaving. Besides, I asked those questions for a reason." "But I can tell that this job is starting to affect you! Your sleep schedule is wack, and I barely see you anymore!" Starlight almost laughed at Twilight's remark. "Twilight its been two days. What are you even talking about? And besides, it was your idea for me to work there. Not mine." "It's just-" "Look, I appreciate the help, but I'm fine." Starlight exited the room and slammed the door behind her. Starlight entered her bedroom and laid down on her comfy bed before getting ready for her third shift. She looked at her left side and saw a picture of Twilight and Starlight together. They had happy expressions. Starlight levitated the photo so she saw it face-to-face. I didn't mean to storm off like that. Regret started sprinkling in her mind. I am getting more agitated. And I am usually not like that. Was Twilight right? Should she quit working there if she was starting to affect her in a way that she didn't want? Starlight shook her head and put the photo away. Just three more shifts to go. She thought as she closed her eyes. Although Twilight's suggestion still lingers in her mind. Night 3: A New Challenger Oh boy, here we go again. Starlight sat on her office chair with a tired look. After her argument with Twilight, Starlight barely got any sleep because unsettling thoughts kept creeping into her mind. Who killed the foals? Do the animatronics think I’m the murderer? And most importantly: Why didn’t the princesses do anything? Starlight assumed that it was not Twilight’s place to demand the resturant to be closed. She is the princess of friendship after all. But why didn’t Celestia do anything? Surely, she would not let stuff like this slide. She must have heard about the incident. But then again Starlight remembered that the newspapers said that the police did find the suspect, but after having no evidence, they let him go. And they also threatened to close the restaurant down. And so, it will, maybe. Why do I torture myself? Soon, the phone started ringing, and for once, Starlight didn't jump by its sudden noise. "Hello, hello? Uh, hey, I'm impressed by your work in progress! Most ponies don't last this long! Uh erm, I mean they move on to other things. I am not implying that they died. They didn't." Starlight was clearly not convinced. "Erm, hey, I got an idea! How about when they are near the office, you play dead! Oh, but then again, they might think that you're an empty costume, and they may try to put a metal endoskeleton inside of you somehow..." "Wow, thanks for the lovely information." She called out as she muted the call, refusing to hear any more. Then, she heard low laughter in the distance. "What was that...?" Starlight opened the monitor and saw that Chica andFreddy was off the stage, but for some reason, Bonnie is the only one staying. "You've got to be kidding. Now I have to deal with the bear?" Starlight groaned. It was bad enough that she had to deal with those three psychos. But what was worse was that unlike them, Freddy is hard to spot. I think I remember Phone Guy saying that he's only in dark areas... When Freddy moved again, she once again heard the laughter in the distance. She felt her body shiver. "STOP LAUGHING." But she was screaming at deaf ears. Something told her that Night 3 will not be as kind to her as Night 2, as such, Chica gets extremely close to the office that quickly, and Freddy is hard to monitor in the cameras. Not to mention she has to deal with Bonnie and Foxy, although thankfully, they don't really move a lot. I guess I need to be quicker then. She saw Chica appear at the door window, giving her a death stare. "No." Starlight said as she closed the door. She checked the cameras again to see Freddy at the restrooms. Although for some strange reason, he was in the girl's restroom and not the boys. "Freddy are you secretly a girl?" Starlight asked aloud. She assumed that Freddy was a male character, and he is. But why there? Just then the camera suddenly went static, and followed by Freddy's laughter, he vanished to another room. She checked on the other animatronics. Chica finally left and opened the door. Bonnie was standing at the West Hallway, and Foxy's head appeared from the curtains. These guys are more active as before "Well, I'm ready for you guys." Starlight said, determined. She then rolled her eyes at herself. "Why am I talking to myself?" But she wasn't ready for what came next. As Foxy got out of Pirate's Cove, ready to run to the office, Starlight screamed in shock when she encountered flashing images of Bonnie and Freddy all staring at her. Followed by a garbled voice. And the words "IT'S ME" kept flashing too. "What the hell?!" Starlight yelled, but then covered her mouth. She normally doesn't swear like that, unless very scared or angry. Then she heard rapid footsteps, and by some miracle, she closed the door right before Foxy appeared, and started to bang on it. Starlight noticed that by each bang, her power started decreasing more and more. Even when she was safe for now, Starlight was still panting hard. What did she just witness? She saw Bonnie with black, soulless eyes; Freddy with bloodshot eyes that... don't look Freddy's normal eyes. Or any eyes of an animatronic in general... But the most confusing part was that the saying "IT'S ME" kept appearing rapidly. "Who is you?" Starlight looked at the animatronics through the cameras. They all stood still. More evidence that needs to be brought to light. she thought. The night was shorter than she expected. Even Freddy wasn't that much of a hassle to her. As long as she listened to his eerie laughs, and his footsteps, then he isn't that much to deal with. Although she was annoyed that Chica kept appearing at her right side. She was more active than usual. When it turned 6 however, she didn't leave the restaurant eagerly like she normally would. She saw that that the animatronics mysteriously went back to their normal positions, despite them being in different areas just seconds before. She investigated the animatronics, and once she got a closer look at Freddy's mouth, she could smell blood coming from it. Starlight suddenly remembered that one of the newspapers said that the animatronics smelt like blood and mucus, which is one of the reasons why the restaurant is closing down. Did they even bother to clean them? Surely cleaning an animatronic isn't that hard, right? But then Starlight remembered another thing she learned about this franchise: Never get close to an animatronic's mouth. Quick as a flash, Starlight instantly leapt backward, and when she did, Freddy's jaw suddenly closed shut. Starlight breathed heavily. She almost died. I could've died. She was startled when she heard doors opening, and turned around to see Liles staring at her. "What are you doing?" Liles walked up to her. "Don't you know not to tamper with animatronics?" "Tampering? I wasn't tampering. I was just curious about what the animatronics smelt like, and what I found is alarming. Don't you guys ever clean those things?" "Honestly I wish they did, but right now, that is none of your concern." Liles dismissed her. "Anything concerns me when it comes to robots trying to attack me at night." "It doesn't matter anymore. Your shift is done, and now its time for you to leave." Liles kept pushing her away until she reached the exit. "No." Starlight stood her ground. "Why do you keep pushing me? I have four legs you know." "The faster you leave, the safer you'll be." Liles propted, his hazel eyes starting to get scared now. "Normally I don't care if other night guards hang around, but you are a different story. They'll think that you're him." "Him?" Starlight was more confused now. "Who do you mean by him?" "You don't want to know." Liles shook his head. "Now, for the last time. Leave." Hesitantly, Starlight walked out of the restaurant and watched with suspicion as Liles quickly locked the doors. You're hiding something from me. Starlight thought suspiciously. You can't keep a secret from me. At least not for long. Night 4: Drawing Near Once again, Starlight, unwillingly, traveled to Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria for another night. Thoughts still lingered in her mind as to how this place wasn't shut down faster. Surely Twilight or at least Celestia would look into this pizzeria and deem it unsafe for foals. Or they haven't looked hard enough. Starlight thought, with a tiny bit of bitterness edged in. Maybe I could make a good police pony. Starlight giggled at herself. She could somewhat imagine her on the job, arresting ponies and stopping crimes, and, most importantly, shutting down restaurants that were clearly unsafe, or in fact not suitable for society. She shook her head, letting out a good chuckle. "Twilight would go crazy." At the mention of her former mentor, she lowered her ears. Ever since the argument two days ago, things had been awkward between them. She would normally nod her head every time she saw her, and she would nod back, but they haven't really talked lately. And when they did, it would only be small talk. Even Spike noticed this, and when he asked what was going on, she would normally reply with, "It will be over soon.". Not that it would probably help anyway. Trying to take Twilight away from her thoughts, she entered the pizzeria. But this time, Liles wasn't there to greet her. But instead, she saw a few keys on a nearby table, along with a note that said: Dear Starlight, Since I don't feel the need to lock the doors every night, I trust that you would lock up the restaurant whenever your shift is ready. I'll come by at 6 as usual. Don't do anything stupid or you're fired. -Liles "Can't blame you." Starlight sighed as she read the note. After looking through multiple keys and locking the restaurant doors (after three failed attempts since she didn't know which keys go where), then she went to her office. "Alright, let's see what he says now." Starlight sat on the office chair and brought in some hot chocolate this time, which she heated up with her magic. She even amused herself when her mug had Trixie's face on it. The phone suddenly rang, and when she opened the message, what she heard was alarming. "Hello, hello? Wow, day four. Wow, I knew you could do it." Phone Guy said, although he sounded a lot more worried than he was before. "Hey, I might be around to send you a message, this night has been a bad one for me." After he said that, Starlight could hear a loud banging in the background. She looked at her sides and the cameras. No one has moved yet. So it must be from the message. "I'm kinda glad that I recorded those messages, w-w-w-when I did." He stammered. "What's going on?" Starlight asked, and the amusement inside of her instantly died away. "Don't tell me..." "Hey, if you ever manage to make it through, and would you do me a favor and check those suits in the back? I'll try to hold out until someone checks. I always wondered what was in those empty heads, back there." He said those last words with a chuckle. Then music was heard on the phone, along with groaning. "Oh no. Oh no." Just then a loud screeching noise was heard, and the phone suddenly hung up. Starlight stared at the phone in horror, and rubbed her eyes, almost knocking over her Trixie mug. "Did I just witness a pony die?" Starlight tried to process what she just heard. "That's it. If this isn't proof that this restaurant isn't safe then I don't know what is." She then looked at the cameras. Everyone was gone, and Bonnie and Chica were near the doors already. "Yay, you must be so excited that a pony with flesh has arrived! Can't wait to dine?" Starlight said nervously, although thoughts lingered in her mind. What would she even taste like? Then she heard Freddy's laughter in the distance, along with heavy footsteps on her left side. She instantly closed the door. She didn't even bother to look out the window to see if that was the right call. Then on her right side, she heard unusual groaning noises that almost sound like something made with flesh would make. She instantly closed that door, too. Starlight kept sipping on her hot coco nervously, and she was shuddering so much that the cup started shaking too. It even started cracking due to the pressure, causing it to spill. "What's wrong with me?" Starlight asked herself. "This is just like all the other nights and I was fine." After the doors were closed for a few moments, she opened them again. But when she looked at Pirate's Cove, she saw the curtains wide open, and knowing what it meant, she closed the left door again. Loud bangs were heard afterwards, causing her power to drain. "Great, I'm at 50% and its not even 2." Starlight breathed in and breathed out, trying her best to be calm. It was hard for her to not leave the office altogether and run away from the restaurant as fast as possible. She's not like that. If that was Fluttershy, then most likely, but not her. "I can take on Twilight and her magical abilities. I can take on a brainwashed village, I'm sure I can take on this." She thought, trying her best to make her proud of herself. She failed miserably. She sighed. "Thank Celestia this is the night before the last one. I don't know if I can take this anymore." She looked at her power percentage. It was 35%, and it was still 1am. That was when she had thoughts that she would not make it. This would be her last night alive, and would end up having the same fate as Phone Guy. "Stop it." She told herself. "It's not over until its over." But she didn't believe that either. ... Three hours had passed dreadfully, and somehow, by sheer luck, Starlight is still holding on. Although, the percentage was 10%, and the time just turned to 5am. Starlight was sweating. "It's fine, It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine." she repeated. She got so tense that she didn't even notice her mug shattered into pieces, with hot chocolate flying everywhere. "I'll clean it up." She said mindlessly. "I will." She heard Freddy's laughter again. He was near the office. "Seriously. Really." Starlight was annoyed that these crazed animatronic animals kept appearing every five seconds. They wouldn't let her catch a breath. It was either Freddy or Foxy that annoyed her the most. Most likely Foxy because every time he appeared, he would drain her power, and that was tedious. "I swear if I make it through this night and tomorrow, I want a bonfire." Starlight zipped through the cameras. She looked at the power she had left. 5% She would not make it. But like she said before, she would not go down without a fight. After seeing Bonnie and Chica at the doors, she tried to close the doors, but when she did, the lights suddenly went out. Is this the end? Starlight sat there in silence. Then a musical jingle played, and she saw Freddy's eyes stare at her in the dark. "HI." Starlight's horn finally glowed ominously. She didn't care what Liles thought. If any of Freddy and his friends draw near, she would not let them get to her that easily. Then Freddy's eyes stopped glowing and the light completely vanished. ... Starlight waited, expecting the feel of the animatronic hands touching her body. ... The clock rang. "No." Starlight stared in disbelief. It was 6am. Starlight used her horn as a light, and she saw that Freddy was already looming over her, almost about to forcefully grab her. "Thank Celestia." Starlight sighed in deep relief. She somehow clutched it. She gleefully bolted out of her office, and enjoyed seeing the sunrise that loomed behind the mountains. As she saw the view, she saw Liles walking up to the restaurant doors. "Hey, Starlight." Liles greeted her. "How was it-" "Good, almost died, but good." Starlight interrupted. "Anywho, I will take my leave now." Starlight immediately handed Liles the keys, and instantly jammed out of the restaurant, leaving behind a confused Liles. Night 5: One Last Time This was it. The final night. Starlight looked into the mirror and stared at herself. "You can do this." she said to the mirror. "You can take on a few animtronics, and if the power goes out before 6," her horn dangerously glowed, and a recording of Starlight and Twilight showed when they were battling each other to the death while she was trying to stop the Sonic Rainboom. "I'll give them all my power the way I gave all my power to Twilight." She walked out of her room with a comfortable smirk, but she didn't look where she was going and bumped into Twiligiht. "Oh, sorry Twilight." she bowed her head apologetically. "I didn't see you there." "No problem, Starlight." Twilight said with a cute grin. "Is this your last night?" "Yes, finally." Starlight sighed happily. "And if I make it through, I won't have to worry about Freddy and his friends any longer. Twilight's smile faded away, replaced by a confused look. "If you didn't like working there, you should've quit earlier." Starlight gave her an annoyed look. She now remembered why they were so apart in the first place. "Twilight, that place may be scary and death threatening, but I'm not a wuss." "But what if you made one tiny mistake? One that could end you permanently?" "Twilight, if I made any mistake, I would be dead by now." "But think about it," Twilight placed her hoof on Starlight's shoulder. "You are risking so much, and if you were to die, you could lose everything. Your friends, your home, everything." "Twilight!" Starlight shoved Twilight's hoof away. "Yes, hearing that me staying is ludicrous, but trust me when I tell you, I will be fine." She looked outside, time was being wasted already. "Look, we can talk more after my final shift is over, and yes, I will make sure I'll come back alive." She trotted out the castle doors before she let Twilight reply. Twilight stared on as she left and rubbed a hoof under her chin. Starlight opened the pizzeria’s doors, and like last time, Liles wasn't present. Another note appeared with the keys next to them. The note said: Hey, Starlight, I decided to take a break from this establishment. I hired a friend of mine to give you your paycheck when your shift is over. So don't expect me to appear whenever your night ends. When your shift ends, just stay put, and he will come. He won't appreciate it if you leave the restaurant and he's all alone. Good luck on your final night. -Liles Starlight was a little disappointed that she would not get to see the stallion one last time, but she shrugged. Maybe it was best if he left the place altogether. But then something was different about the note: the hornwriting. It was different on this note. Lile's hornwriting was sloppy but still readable, while this hornwriting was very formal and it was hard for Starlight to read it sometimes. She looked at the note in suspicion, but she didn't care. She wanted to be out of here as quickly as possible. She got into her office chair and turned on the monitors. But then she jumped when she heard the phone rang. Who would be calling me at this moment? Starlight thought. He literally died. The message opened, and instead of hearing a voice, she heard demonic garbling, along with loud screeches in the background. She immediately hung up the phone. "That's it." Starlight grabbed the phone with her magic. "I'm taking this to Celestia as proof that this restaurant shouldn't still be here." As she grabbed the phone, a burst of purple magic burst behind her. Somehow the magic knocked Starlight forward and she hit her stomach on the desk, and the phone banged on the wall, and hit the floor, shattering it to pieces. "Oh gee, Starlight! I'm so sorry!" Starlight's heart may have skipped a beat when she recognized the voice. "Twilight?" Starlight said in complete shock as she stood up. "Why are you here?" "Well since this is your last night, I wanted to see what you have been doing these past nights." Twilight looked at the buttons on her left side. "What do those do?" When she pushed the light button, Bonnie was in the doorway, giving them a creepy look. "No!" Starlight ran over and closed the door. "Phew." "Wait, this is what you have been doing the whole time?" Twilight acted as if she couldn't believe what she saw. "Yeah, what did you expect?" Starlight said, annoyed. She felt a sharp pain in her hoof when she stepped on something sharp. She looked down and saw the phone smashed to pieces. "The phone!" Starlight gasped. "The proof!" Twilight looked at her, confused. "What proof?" "There was a recording of a pony that died to these animatronics." Starlight said as she scanned through the cameras and closed the right door. "And I would've shown it to Celestia, but then you came along." She sighed. "I'm so sorry, Starlight." She said sadly. Starlight looked up. Was she holding back tears? "I-I-It's fine, Twilight." Starlight stammered. "Not that it really cared anyway." She said, although she was lying to her and herself. "Well," Twilight sat down on the floor. "If I'm going to be here, I might as well be useful." "Wait what." Starlight looked behind her. "You're staying here?" "Yeah. If your going through your final night, I thought it would be good to have a friend with you." "Well, thank you." Starlight nodded, grateful. "But you might have to go through the basics, such as, don't mess with those lights. They drain power." Starlight said as Twilight kept pressing the light button. "But it seems that Bonnie is gone so..." She opened the left door, which made Twilight jump. "I can't believe that you had to go through this..." Twilight stared in disbelief. "Yeah? Well, I'm a tough pony. I can handle a few animatronics, but hey, I'm not scared of them anymore." Starlight simply said. "If the power goes out and/or they are in the office, I'll kick their butts with my magic like how I kicked your butt when I went back in time." Twilight looked at her hotly. "Now hold on just a minute-" She was interrupted when Starlight silenced her with her hoof. "Listen." Twilight gasped when she heard low pitched laughter in the background. "Who is that?!" "Freddy." Starlight answered. "The big bear himself, and a very tedious animatronic to deal with. Mostly hangs around in the shadows." Twilight jumped a little bit when she heard low humming in the background. “And who is making that noise?” she asked as she pointed to the left side. “Foxy. Another tedious animatronic. He’s unlike the others.” “What do you mean?” Twilight was startled when she heard running footsteps at her side. Starlight rushed to the door button, but Twilight was faster and quickly pressed the door button, causing the power to drain. “Like that.” Starlight said after Foxy ran off. Hours had passed and Twilight was finally getting the hang of what to do. She was on the left side, while Starlight handled the right. Starlight instructed her about the sounds and what to do when the others drew near. She looked at her tablet, only to find out that the percentage is 34% “Twilight, are you using the doors a lot more often?” Starlight turned around to face her former mentor. She saw that the door was closed, and no animatronic was even around at the time. “Twilight Sparkle!” Starlight let out an exasperated sigh and opened the door. “What? The animatronic might be hiding, you never know!” Twilight defended herself. “Oh, they don’t hide. You can hear their footsteps, making them easily spotted.” she said calmly but she was still angry. She literally told her to only close the doors when the animatronics are nearby, yet it seemed to fade away in her mind. Twilight sighed. “I’m sorry, Starlight. I just can’t get used to this atmosphere. Honestly, I don’t know how you do it.” Starlight’s anger faded. She sighed too. “It’s ok, Twilight. You didn’t know.” “But I’m putting you in danger.” Twilight almost looked like she was about to cry again. “Maybe I shouldn’t be here.” she lit up her horn to cast a teleportation spell. “No!” Starlight stopped her, while keeping an eye on the animatronics at the same time. “Twilight, please stay. I’m sorry I got angry at you. It's just been stressful lately. In fact,” Starlight’s ears lowered in shame. It was about time she told her this. “I’m sorry about my outburst a few days before. I know you’re just trying to protect me.” “And I’m sorry too.” Twilight said after a few moments of silence. “What do you mean?” “I should’ve pushed Celestia into closing this restaurant days before. And it's all my fault that I didn’t. The truth is, I wanted to give Fazbear a chance.” “You what?” Starlight couldn’t believe her ears. “But you heard about the murders, the Bite, everything that was fishy about that place!” Twilight interrupted her by raising her hoof. “I know, but I put aside those facts because... well... I loved this franchise. I was happy the day that it opened. I just thought that maybe Fazbear would surprise me. That it would grow out of the weeds of the murder phase and be the pizzeria that anyone can enjoy. But I guess I was wrong.” “So that’s why you didn’t insist to close it?” Twilight slowly nodded. “I knew it would close down eventually, since Celestia ordered it. But I was hoping that it would have a good run while it lasted.” Starlight looked at her in a shocked, but understanding way, while looking at the cameras and closing the doors. “Twilight...” she was at a loss for words. She looked at the clock. 5am. “Well, Twilight.” Starlight touched Twilight’s chin to look at her. “It’s almost over.” “That’s a relief. I don’t know if I can stay here much longer.” she chuckled a little bit. She and Twilight exchanged smiles. Then the lights turned off. “WHAT?!” Starlight screamed in horror. Twilight immediately got up. “What is it?” “The power went out.” Starlight gazed in horror. “I think I left the doors closed for too long.” “So, what now?” Just as Twilight said that a jingle played beside her and Freddy’s eyes glowed. “Gah!” Twilight jumped back. Starlight and Twilight held on to each other as the jingle continued playing, both terrified to the core. Starlight didn’t check the time to see if she was close or farther from six. She prayed that it was the former. The jingle suddenly stopped, she and Twilight were in pitch darkness now. Cmon, 6am. COME ON 6AM. “So is something supposed to happen or-” She was suddenly cut off when something grabbed her horn and her mouth. She let out muffles of screams through the mouth. “Starlight!” She could make out her muffled name through her mouth. “Twilight!” Starlight lit up her horn and saw that Freddy lifted her up in the air and made demonic static noises. Starlight’s horn burned brighter and charged up her magic to save her friend from death but was instantly slapped away by Chica. She was knocked to the wall, and Chica stared down at her with a death glare. Her eyes were replaced with black eye sockets, with only a white dot remaining. Then she grabbed her horn similar to how Freddy grabbed Twilight's. Starlight turned to see Freddy holding Twilight near his mouth, almost about to bite her, just like the previous victims. "No-" Starlight was choked out when Chica grabbed her throat. When she looked at the chicken, she saw the same hallucinations of Bonnie and Freddy, with the words "IT'S ME" hovering above them. Starlight closed her eyes, her ears being deafened by Twilight's desperate screams for help. Starlight felt like a monster. She was the reason it was happening to them right now, and all because she left the door closed. And now she can't even help Twilight. She now expected to hear either the skull crushing sound coming from Twilight, or expected herself to feel the same way. ... ... ... Starlight opened her eyes, and Twilight suddenly stopped screaming. She saw that Chica loosened her grip, while she was still staring at her, not moving, while Freddy was in locked position. Just then, Twilight was startled by a sound that came next. While to Starlight, it was the best sound she heard in her life. The clock chimed six. "Thank Celestia!" Starlight let out a deep breath. She then realized that she wasn't clutching to her horn as much. She used a teleportation spell on herself, and on Twilight, teleporting them outside the office. Twilight was stunned like a deer in the headlights. Her hooves were staggering. "Twilight?" Starlight waved her hooves to the mare. "I- we just- how did-" she was stummering like crazy. Starlight closed her mouth with her hoof. "I know. I can't believe it either." Twilight then staggered to the restaurant door. "This. This place. Has NO CHANCE. Of being open. Any. Longer." she rubbed her forehead. "I'll see you back at the castle. I got an essay to write." She said as she flew away. Starlight chuckled, while looking at the sky from the inside. Thankful that she and Twilight somehow made it through alive, and that her days of being here will finally be over. While Starlight stayed at the pizzeria, waiting for Lile's friend, the rest of the pizzeria staff went over and put the animationics back in their places. Starlight gazed at the animatronics with a somewhat respectable look. They tried. They tried to hard to beat her. And they were very close, but unfortunately for them, miracle was at Starlight's side. Better luck next time, creepos. Then something caught her eye as a pony opened the door. He was a purple unicorn with dark purple hair. He was wearing a white suit with a black tie. His cutie mark was a yellow badge. "Hello?" he called out in a husky voice. "Anyone here named Starlight Shimmer?" "It's Glimmer." Starlight corrected the pony. "Ah, sorry. These names are kind of hard to remember." He dipped his head apologetically. "No worries. I assume you are a friend of Liles?" Starlight asked the purple pony. He nodded. "Yes I am. He wanted me to give you this." He handed out a sack of bits. Starlight opened up and inspected each of them to make sure that the make wasn't filled with rocks. "This makes my time here worthwhile." Starlight murmured. When she looked up, she saw that the purple pony was staring up at the animatronics that were on the stage. "Sad how these guys will be going sometime soon." He said mildly. "I'm not." Starlight added. The pony chuckled. "Of course not. You had to endure the pain of watching over them." "Yeah, and my life was on the line a few times." Starlight sighed. "But I'm just happy that this whole thing is over." The pony nodded. "You know," he said suddenly. "You're one brave pony. Anyone would've left the restaurant as soon as their first shift ends. You are very different from them. And I have to say, me and Liles are very impressed." Starlight was shocked. She never expected a compliment from a pony that she just met. "Thank you." The pony was about to say more, but he was interrupted when one of the staff members screamed in pure horror. "What's wrong?" The purple pony demanded. The staff members went behind the stage and dragged out a pony's body. And Starlight felt tears flow through her face when she recognized who it was. It had been weeks since her final night at Freddy’s. Newspapers had been going on like wildfire since the news of the death of Liles Burton, who would be the last victim of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Starlight remembered that cruel morning, where she saw the death of a potential friend. He died the same way that Twilight would’ve died, his head had been bitten brutally. But even if Lile’s didn’t die, Twilight made sure to Celestia that Freddy’s was an unsafe place for foals and that it needed to be shut down immediately; Lile’s death was just the cherry on top. So, Celestia shut the business down, finally, and sold the animatronics somewhere else. Hopefully far, far away from where Starlight and her friends are. And after going through torturing nightmares since that day, Starlight can finally rest well, and not have to worry about going to a death trap every night. She brushed her mane once more and headed downstairs to where Spike and Twilight were eating some haycakes. “Good morning, Starlight!” Twilight greeted, and Spike said the same thing. “Good morning to the both of you.” Starlight sighed happily. She grabbed a packet of hot coco and poured it onto some hot water in her brand-new Trixie cup. “I still can’t believe that we went through that nightmare.” Twilight said, remembering the night where she and Starlight were dangerously close to death. “But you managed to pull through.” “Yeah, I guess I did.” Starlight heated up the cup with her magic and drank from it. “I’m sorry that your friend died though.” Twilight added sadly. “But at least he will be the last victim at Freddy’s for a good while.” “Yeah.” Starlight sadly remembered Liles, and someone else. “Especially his friend, he looked pretty shaken up when he heard about the death of his friend.” “That purple pony you were talking about?” Spike added. “Yeah, him. He’s mysterious, and he’s a pretty decent pony.” Starlight looked out the window. “I probably won’t see him again sometime soon now that Freddy’s is discontinued.” “I see.” Twilight joined her at her side. “Did you ever get the name of the pony?” “He never told me his last name, I don’t think.” Starlight pondered as she stared outside. “But I do remember his first name though.” “Which is...?” “William.” Just then she got startled she heard whispers that kept saying “IT’S ME.” numerous times. “Is everything ok?” Twilight asked when she saw Starlight’s sudden reaction. She just shook her head. “No, just a gust of wind.” Author's Note I hope you guys enjoyed this last chapter (which is admittingly a little darker than the previous ones), and the story in general. It’s been really fun writing the chapters about the mysterious Freddy Fazbear’s, and of course, writing Starlight is fun too. And if you didn’t like it, well, thank you for at least reading this note. I greatly appreciate it. Now she won’t have to worry about Freddy Fazbear’s anytime soon :D For a while at least -Catpaw616
Hesitation and PersuasionStarlight awoke from her bed and brushed her mane to get rid of the tangles that hid in her purple and turquoise mane. Author's Note Starlight is going to have fun working at Freddy's :D
Night 1: The Beginning 12 AM The night began.
