Author's Note

As the title says, the first two chapters of A Walking Chestnut - Rewritten are uploaded and published!

The rewrite is a lot more focused than what we had here, so I'll be spending more time building the characters before I introduce a new one, and then take them out of the story for ten chapters. Like, Five chapters in a row here were about Samuel being on a ship without any story happening!

The chapters are also longer, I'm trying to make each of them at least 2,000 words minimum, and I'm also taking more time working on each chapter before uploading.

I think one of the biggest Issues I had was my uploading speed, I wanted to get chapters out quickly and so I quantity over quality, you can see that in the earlier chapters where we have almost daily updates before a short break and then return to daily updates. This time I'll be taking my time, prioritizing Quality over Quantity.

I also actually have a planned plot to follow now, I'm no longer flying by the seat of my pants making stuff up as I go along.

There's not much else I can say, the characters will be different but still the same, Samuel is still going to be a lovable asshole.
Oh, and there's a major change to his character thanks to CURRENT WORLD EVENTS so... Yeah... I think you can guess what that change is...

The rewrite is going to be less comical than the start of this story, with more focus on the serious aspects of living as a Pokemon. There's still going to be humor and stuff here and there, but it won't be a big enough part of the story to have a tag for it.

The other humans will remain tho, they are important, I know a lot of you didn't like them, But I do, and I'm the author so I win automatically lol.

What else... What else... The new story will have a lot darker and more serious moments...

I'm sure the Rewrite might not be the cup of tea for a lot of people, especially the genre changes, but I really enjoy how It's currently going.

Sorry to surprise you all with an update more than a year after I dropped this story, just wanted to notify y'all in case you don't follow me and hadn't seen the new story up.

I also wish to once again thank all of you who read till the end of A Walking Chestnut, even when things got kinda... bad. I'll admit, the writing after chapter 10 was terrible. Actually, The writing after chapter 4 was terrible.

In the past year, I've grown a lot as a writer, and I think I improved enough to really give A Walking Chestnut another go.
