T’was a bright and sunny day this afternoon with hardly a cloud in the sky and what seemed to be the most ideal temperature one could possibly hope for on such a beautiful Saturday afternoon. With the wind whipping through his mane, Soarin couldn’t be much happier as he soared through the sky around Cloudsdale. It was his day off from Wonderbolts duties and he not a care in the world as he enjoyed his flight. He had started the day off with a delicious blueberry pie at a local café and from there he joined up with fellow Wonderbolts stallions and had a blast of a time for several hours at Cloudsdales amusement park. It was the best theme park a pony could go to outside of the ones in Las Pegasus. Them from there, Soarin had an late lunch with a few drinks with said fellow Wonderbolts before finally departing with them and opting to go on a long casual flight in and around Cloudsdale all afternoon.
It has always amazed him how much one can see and observe while flying around. With the ability of flight one can see pretty much all the beauty that Equestria has to offer, and from a perspective that earth ponies and unicorns can’t or rather don’t get to see very often. Not to mention how quick somepony like him can get around, whether it be the time it takes go get around in a city or from one town to the next or even across Equestria if he so choose to. He honestly couldn’t imagine not being a Pegasus. Sure Earth pony and Unicorn magic had their advantages, but to Soarin Pegasus had it the best as it seemed like the gift of flight gave him the most freedom.
Soarin had flown most of the afternoon below Cloudsdale at a low altitude, not much more than a hundred feet so as to get a very up close look at all the beautiful nature Equestria had to offer. Though as the day wore on he opted to finish his flight with some high altitude flight in which not only to enjoy the high bird’s eye view of the world but also having to put less thought and care into flying as there’s much less to worry about flying into something by accident.
Soarin at this point was flying in the upper outer airspace of Cloudsdale that was mostly empty of fellow Pegasi as it was far away from most of the transit routes to and from Cloudsdale so most of the few Pegasi he could see were all pretty much doing the same as him and were just enjoying a nice casual flight. After a little while longer he noticed a small patch of clouds off in the distance and decided to fly around them a bit as is was even more secluded and he that after a bit more flight time that the clouds would be a great place to stop and take a break.
Soarin began to gently weave in between the clouds and occasionally bouncing off their soft surfaces. He then rose above the clouds so as to dive bomb them a few times and just when he got to the perfect altitude to do so he noticed something out of the corner of his eye or rather somepony. Now normally he wouldn’t pay them any attention and would just make sure to stay away and not bother them. However upon doing a double take he instantly changed plans as there was no mistaking that color pallet from where he was. Now most ponies would be all but impossible to recognize from how far away he was but when you see a pony with ALL of the colors in the light spectrum it doesn’t take much to conclude that the pony you’ve just run into is none other than the one and only Rainbow Dash, fellow Wonderbolt, fellow friend, Equestrain savior, and all around best pony.
‘’Huh, I never thought I’d see Dash today.’’ thought Soarin to himself as she had stated yesterday that she was to be in Ponyville all weekend. ‘’Well I was due for a break anyways so I might as well drop in and say hi while I’m here.
As Soarin got closer he noticed that Dash seemed to be curled up lying down on the cloud as if taking a nap, but as he get even closer something seemed off. He has caught Dash sleeping off and on the job plenty of times and this didn’t look like one of her casual napping positions. So rather than making a loud entrance like he or Rainbow Dash herself would normally make, he opted instead for a quiet and gentile landing a few paces behind her. He was going to give a hello as soon as he landed but decided not to at first as not only did she not notice him, but also as he took a few steps towards her it became very apart that not only was Dash not sleeping but rather awake and crying!? Not a full blown crying but he could most certainly make out some light sniffles. This was situation that Soarin has rarely seen Dash in as she herself stated that Rainbow Danger Dash is to awesome to cry. Which he knew was silly and untrue, but still it was very rare to see it and the few times he did it was usually right after her making a huge mistake while trying to carry out one of her grand ideas. Regardless right now something isn’t right and so he had to be careful, he wanted to help in anyways possible. Not just as her superior but also as a close friend, and the last thing he wanted was to accidentally make her situation worse. So after walking up right behind Dash and stopping he observed her for a few moments to gather his thoughts and think what to say first.
‘’Uh hey Crash, how’s it going?’’ asked Soarin asked calmly and politely as possible.
‘’BWAA What the holy crap!’’ exclaimed Rainbow Dash as she jumped up in surprise.
‘’whoa sorry there I didn’t mean to surprise you.’’ said Soarin in a reassuring tone.
‘’Oh it’s just you! Thank Celestia.’’ said Dash with the latter part being said under her breath.
‘’Yeah it’s me, now is everything alright?’’ Soarin asked again now that Dash was calming down.
‘’Oh uh yeah everything is totally fine!’’ Dash blurted out frantically with a blush. ‘’All is good and I was just hanging out and just um taking a nap after some intense stunts I just did!’’
‘’Uh huh, sure.’’ Soarin said with a slight deadpan expression. ‘’Then why were you crying if everything is fine?’’
‘’What me crying!? Quit joking clipper as Dash doesn’t cry!’’ blurted Dash trying to sound cool and calm but clearly wavering in tone.
‘’Dash please don’t lie to me.’’ said Soarin after he had let out a sigh as he could see right through her charade. ‘’Please as a close friend I beg that you be honest with me. Whatever the problem is I want to help and even if it’s something embarrassing I won’t judge.’’
‘’I said there’s nothing wrong!’’ exclaimed Dash trying her hardest to get out of the situation.
‘’There is something wrong and the tear streaks running down your face are proof of that.’’ said Soarin in a slightly elevated tone while Dash started rubbing her face in a vain attempt to hid the evidence but to no avail. ‘’Now again I’m asking as a friend whom not only trusts you, but also one that you’ve state you closely trust as well. Now if you still refuse, that’s fine I as a friend can respect that. However as Co-captain of the Wonderbolts I can’t let an issue like this slide. Especially with a top member such as yourself and I don’t want whatever is going on to affect your performance and thus the Wonderbolts performance, especially from a safety standpoint. So while we are both off duty right now, I will most certainly make your life a living hell come Monday.’’
‘’What!? You can’t pull rank on me like this!’’ exclaimed Dash while knowing that overall Soarin said all that in jest, but that overall he still would do it if she didn’t comply.
‘’Oh yes I can.’’ said Soarin with a small smirk as he knew he had her. ‘’Now spill the beans’’
‘’Fine.’’ responded Rainbow after a long drawn out defeated sounding sigh. ‘’But you had better not make fun of me or tell anypony else!’’
‘’Dash am I not one of you closest friends? It’s me Soarin. If I were oh say Fleetfoot I’d understand the reservations but its best stallion were talking about here.’’ said Soarin joking yet serious.
‘’You… you’re right and I’m sorry.’’ said Dash with another defeated sounding sigh.
‘’Thank you very much Dash. Though please we should be at rest as you look as shaky as a willow tree in a tornado.’’ Soarin said with an ever so slight chuckle.
‘’Oh uh thanks.’’ said Dash with no rebuke of any kind which completely surprised Soarin.
‘’No problem.’’ said Soarin with a continued surprise as Rainbow Dash didn’t just sit down but rather laid down completely in a fully prone position. Which told him that it must be something important and very personal and therefore he did the same and laid on the cloud right next to her.
After they both had gotten comfortable there was a bit of a long silence with no noise other than the wind and their rhythmic breathing. It wasn’t a totally awkward silence per say but that Soarin had nothing to be able to start the conversation and Dash was thinking about what and how to start. For Soarin he had no issue with Dash taking her time with coming up with what to say as it was obviously important and he wanted her to be at ease as much as possible.
‘’Soarin, have you ever had a day where overall it’s a decent average day but then just one minor thing sets you off and just changes everything and makes your life a living hell? Or at the very least just makes you realize everything in life can just suck and make you feel like crap?’’ asked Dash in a very somber tone.
‘’Well ummm.’’ started Soarin but unable to think of a good answer right away due to the vague yet deep nature to Rainbows question at which he decided to respond with a question of his own. ‘’I think I need a bit more context. I mean are you saying that you were totally fine and just one random thing got you into this funk or are you saying there’s been a buildup of a lot of little bad things and that today was the breaking point? Or am I totally wrong all together and am misinterpreting the question?’’
‘’No you nailed on the head with the latter.’’ said Dash with a sigh.
‘’Oh well ummm I guess I have a time or two over the years. Or at least I think so if my interpretation of what you’re saying is correct.’’ said Soarin delicately and continued. ‘’But please tell me from the start so I can understand and figure out how to help you as best as I can.’’
‘’Oh boy.’’ said Dash with yet another sigh while staring down at her hooves. ‘’This is going to get real deep.’’
‘’Dash I am here for you.’’ said Soarin as he put one of his forehooves on her shoulder and gave a short rub. ‘’Just let it out and however it naturally comes to you.’’
‘’Okay.’’ said Dash after acknowledging Soarin’s sincerity. ‘’This will be a lot to unpack but I guess I might as well start with today first and then add on all the past crap.’’
‘’Again I’m here for you.’’ Soarin said while waiting patiently for her to begin.
‘’Well earlier today I was in Ponyville hanging out with my friends there like I usually do when I’m not hanging out here in Cloudsdale in my off time, and today was another training session day with Scootaloo helping her fly, and well after struggling again today she came out and said that this was all for nothing and that she is well aware that she will never be able to fly good let alone grate. Also that she will never get to fly alongside me at any given time let alone with the Wonderbolts.’’ said Dash with the beginning of her story.
‘’Oh Dash, I’m so sorry to hear that.’’ said Soarin with the utmost sincerity. ‘’But I know we’ve talked about this before. Scoots is a wonderful filly and a bright and very talented one given her current handicap.’’
‘’Thanks, but as you’re well know I’m fully aware of the situation.’’ said Dash calmly before continuing. ‘’Look I will admit that after all these years of helping her that even I’m well aware that she can never be an accomplished flyer. And while I also admit that I haven’t yet admitted that to her yet, I will also admit that the reason why I haven’t yet is because I don’t want it ruining her confidence as I still believe with enough development and determination I can still at least get her to a point where she will be able fly on her own, even if it’s for short periods of time of just normal average flight. I know I will have to be honest with her sooner than later but I’m scared and sad and mad because I don’t want to hurt her and even more so I hate that ultimately that would mean I lied to her all those years ago when I said I could help her.’’
‘’Oh Dashie.’’ Soarin began once she paused. ‘’I know you don’t want to hear this because of how proud and determined you are, but it’s okay that this endeavor of yours more than likely won’t end in total success. You are literally an older sister to her and you’ve done everything an older sister can given the circumstances. Heck even I love her to death at this point and I’m well aware of how excited she gets when she’s at a Wonderbolts event or at the Wonderbolts headquarters. She’s practically our mascot at this point. Though make no mistake I to believe you can get her to a point where she can do basic flying and believe that once her body fully develops that she will have enough strength along with the experience to be able to do basic flying. However I do believe that you should be honest with her sooner than later, but also look into and play with the strengths that she already has. I mean she’s pretty awesome on that scooter of hers. The tricks and stunts she can already do, is quite amazing. In fact she reminds me of you and your determination. So don’t sell yourself short Dash and whether you’re willing to admit it or not. Scootaloo is following in your hoof steps even if it’s not the same way you did it.’’
‘’Oh Soarin, thanks for saying that.’’ said Dash as she began to sniffle a bit again before going on. ‘’Look I will say that I’m well aware of everything you just said and you’re right I will have to confront her soon and make the hard but necessary changes to her training and ultimately her future plans and goals once she grows up.’’
‘’You are very much welcome and please if you and Scootaloo need any help, please don’t hesitate to ask me, as I love hanging out with her just as much as I do you Dash.’’ said Soarin with a warm and genuine smile.’’
‘’Celestia damn it Soarin. You’re too good of a pony for your own sake you know that right.’’ Dash said with a light hearted chuckle as she continued to sniffle some more.
‘’I try my best and you’re not the first pony to tell me that.’’ said Soarin with a chuckle of his own. ‘’But I know this wasn’t the only reason I found you here. You said there were several other things. So please continue.’’
‘’Yeah I can, but this is the part where it gets deep.’’ said Dash as her slight smile turned into a slight frown. ‘’And if it’s alright with you I’d prefer no interruptions as this is really hard for me to talk about.’’
‘’Dash I understand and I am all ears for you. So please take your time.’’ Soarin said sympathetically as he got comfortable and waited for Dash to continue.
‘’Thanks Soarin, and while I’m still figuring out how to tell you all this I will say that these issues are my experiences over the years since I was a filly and that they may not be in chronological order.’’ said Rainbow Dash and she looked at Soarin whom in return just nodded and gave her a reaffirming look within his eyes and thus felt comfortable enough to continue. ‘’I guess I won’t go into individual stories but rather overarching problems I’ve had to dealt with over the years. Problems that shaped my life as a filly, and still are an issue to some extent to this day.’’
‘’I understand.’’ said Soarin patiently.
‘’Okay, so here goes.’’ Dash began. ‘’I haven’t really told anypony this in detail before but I had a rough fillyhood. Rougher than most ponies know and theres a few aspects that really hurt me badly while growing up, and most of it revolves around me being me. As in the way I physically am. As you and everypony else know I love myself a lot because of how awesome I am and how awesome I look, but because of my awesome Rainbow mane and tail that I have there were so many ponies and not just bullies whom accused me of being gay. Or rather the gayest pony in all equestrian! Even before I knew what gay or rather lesbian even was! And the worst part was it was just dumb jock stallions but many fellow mares in my class as well! To be ridiculed day in and day out. To be constantly called a filly fooler almost every day by fellow classmates and even adults take a toll on a pony and it was made worse by the fact that I am the way I am! I’m a tomcolt! I love sports, I love being the best at anything and everything physical. I especially love being the best at flying and have always wanted to be the best at most types of flying competition. Heck that’s one main reason why I’ve always dreamed of becoming a Wonderbolt! So between my natural looks, my gender, and me being highly athletic many ponies treated me like shit. For awhile I was confused and scared as to what to do in life and what love really means. For instance there were these 3 dumbass jock stallions whom for years have made my life miserable, and yes they are the ones I’ve told you about before. The ones that still now are bottom feeders working at the weather factory. Anyways because of them for awhile I began to hate stallions all together and started to think that everypony was right in saying that I was gayer than Aids and subsequently my first few sexual experiences though minor were with mares. But here’s the thing, mares can be bigger assholes than stallions as they can be mean and nasty without having to hide behind the gender card that stallions generally have too. And just like the jocks there were plenty of mare in my class that were jealous of my success and for me being me. I mean don’t get me wrong looking back I do accept that there were many times I rubbed my success and my awesomeness in their faces, but I only did that to get back at them for being so mean to me. Which always made it worse and go full circle time and time again. Anyways like I was saying it got worse with the fellow mares in my class as they could easily spread false rumors to the rest of the class and then would blow said lies way out of proportion. So finally it got to the point that for the remainder of the time I stayed in school I just kept to myself for the most part, and then I think you more or less know how the rest goes when it comes to me dropping out of flight school and moving to Ponyville to quickly become lead weatherpony and then became one of Equestrias saviors and then the awesome Wonderbolt you see in front of you!’’
‘’Oh my sweet Celestia Dash, I’m so sorry to hear that!’’ exclaimed Soarin with great concern once Rainbow had finally taken a pause in her story.
‘’Thanks but I’m not done yet.’’ said Dash with a bit of a renewed vigor despite it clearly visually being hard on her to speak about it. ‘’So like I said I dropped out and kept to myself because I couldn’t handle it anymore and while it did get better once I fully became a legal independent adult I still dealt with the same shit because even though it wasn’t as bad or frequent as it was in school I had to often endure it in a passive aggressive manner, and by that I mean many ponies would make jokes and or assumptions about me without knowing or rather caring how much it hurt me and so even though it was less frequent and not as intense as back in school it still hurt just as much. So like I had said earlier for awhile I avoided stallions for a while and started to think that I must truly be complete lesbian like everypony was saying, but then I noticed that even without trying hang out with other mares I was getting plenty of mare hitting on me without knowing or asking if I was lesbian let alone alright with it. I had plenty of times in the lockers or even out in public where some random mare would try and play grab ass with me or try to suggest having sex. What makes it even worse is that there were older mares doing that to me when I still was just a filly yet! I mean I had to endure things that would put any stallion in jail and on a sex offenders list, but because it was a mare that was doing it well… double standards you know. Though so you don’t worry and before you ask, no there was no time that any mare was ever able to fully take advantage of me. Though attempts were and still once and awhile to this day made, though due to my status and fame it makes it really easy now to turn anypony down. So anyways what I was getting at is after awhile I realized it didn’t matter the gender there were ponies from both sides whom not only made fun of me but also whom wanted my body for just being the way it is and the way I am. At which point I became much more confidant in my sexuality and found out that I am okay with fucking and making love to who I want when I want regardless of gender! Though you and many others that I’ve laid with know full well by know that when push comes to shove I prefer the D over the V!’’
‘’Oh I know.’’ said Soarin with a gentile laugh along with Rainbow with that last statement, but then as quickly as it came it was replaced with a deep concern about the dear friend next to him and her entire livelihood.
‘’So that’s a couple issues that has eaten at me for a long time, however there’s another major issue that I have had to deal with a long time and still do to this day that continue to bother me.’’ said Dash as she again paused to stare at her forehooves while she began to lightly cry some more despite doing her best to hold it back.
‘’Dash I had no idea you had these terrible troubles!’’ exclaimed Soarin quietly and without thought or hesitation he moved his left foreleg over Dash’s back onto her left shoulder and used it to pull Dash onto her side and into him so in order to give her a hug and to hold her close.
‘’WHAA SOARIN!’’ gasped Dash in surprise as she was not expecting that.
‘’Please relax and keep going.’’ pleaded Soarin softly.
‘’Uhhh….sure’’ Dash said with a bit of hesitation as normally she wouldn’t give into touchy feely stuff so quickly, but given the circumstance she was currently in decided to let it go. Plus while she wouldn’t open admit it, she did like it. Then once settled in she continued. ‘’Well the other major problem I’ve had to deal with my whole life is that I’m a meat head and not an egg head.’’
‘’Oh I see.’’ said Soarin with a slightly sarcastic tone as Dash gave herself such a colorful description. ‘’And by that you mean?’’
‘’I mean that for most ponies whether it was when I was in school or now as an adult they only seen me as this dumb jock of a mare whom only likes sports and is a complete dummy when it comes to being smart. And what makes it worse is they were right as I was terrible in class. I sucked at math and science and I didn’t give two hoots about magic and whatnot. But it wasn’t because I hated learning those things but rather it’s just hard for me to learn those things they way that ponies normally learn them. And it wasn’t until later that I found out I’m a hooves on learner only. But again because of that ponies often treated me as this stupid crazy mare. Tough I will admit that this has been less of a problem not that a savior of Equestria and a top Wonderbolt, but that’s only recently been a thing and a lot of the past traumas are still fairly fresh and no matter what will always stick with me in some form or fashion no matter how much life gets better for me.’’
‘’Dash I am so sorry to hear that and I’m so sorry I didn’t know bad you’ve had it all these years and I’m so sorry I nor any other ponies were ever around to help you when you needed it most!’’ exclaimed Soarin as he did his best to comfort Dash who was crying and shaking more than she had before.
‘’Thanks, but don’t…don’t worry about it Soarin.’’ said Dash as she continued to cry. ‘’I gotten over most of it and I’ve learned to deal with the remaining issues for the most part that still crop up from time to time.’’
‘’Dash…’’ was all Soarin could quietly respond with as he contemplated what to say or do next. Meanwhile Dash still continued cry and shuffle around in the spot she was in which unintentionally started to become a problem for Soarin. For even though he himself was heavily focused at the serious issue in front of him, little Soarin on the other hoof was beginning to think about something else entirely or rather the only thing it ever thinks about. As Dash continued to fidget in place while in close contact with Soarin, his loins began to stir which was begging to result in a boner. And while at the same time he was surprised that Dash hadn’t noticed the raging boner rubbing her back. Either Dash was just that much emotionally out of it or she just didn’t care as it’s not like this was the first his schlong massaged her back. Probably both the more he thought about it. Though he had to admit that this was either going to work well or was he was going to crash and burn hard for a good week…no a month! But it was getting to be do something now or things will just get worse for Dash if this silence and self loathing went on any longer. So with a deep breath and quick prayer to Celestia above he went for it.
‘’Dash you are wrong!’’ exclaimed Soarin, but before Dash could say anything he continued ‘’You are very much wrong and I will tell you why. However before I do I want to do something first but I need you to tell me that you trust me!’’
‘’What?’’ asked Dash followed by some more sniffles.
‘’I’m going to do something you may find shocking. But something that I feel will help out. Though I must admit, despite how well intentioned I might be misjudging this which would ruin everything today and well I will just leave it at that. But PLEASE as one of your best friends please trust me and wait till I’m done with what I want to do and say before you judge.’’ explained Soarin quickly yet calmly as Dash gave him a weird look.
‘’I…I promise.’’ stuttered Dash.
‘’So you trust me?’’ stated Soarin reaffirming her commitment.
‘’Yes I trust you Soarin.’’ responded Dash with a slight annoyance for not knowing where this was going.
‘’Okay good, let me get into position.’’ said Soarin as he pulled his left forehoof off of Rainbow’s shoulder and leaned back and spit in his hoof just before bringing it to his shaft as he began quickly began rubbing the spittle all over the end of his cock all while scooting downwards so as to get access to his goal.
