A realization for Rarity and Spike.

Author's Note

This'll be the end of this little story. I might at some point do a part two, with a little time skip into the future.

I left it open on purpose so the imagination can have fun.

A realization for Rarity and Spike.

Wild Rose and Rogus said in the main area of Rarity Boutique. Wild Rose was stretched out on a particular red couch. Rogus was setting in front of it with Wild Rose’s front hooves wrapped around his shoulders. They could hear a shower going and couldn’t help but grin at the memories between them.

Soon after Rarity and Spike came out and found the other pair relaxing. “Thank you for staying around.” Rarity could feel the weight of her wet mane as it lay in small loose curls down by her front legs. “Spikey heard you two come back and apparently also heard you two talking but has refused to tell me what was said.”

“And as I said you’re going to turn red Rarity,” Spike replied.

Wild Rose grinned at the situation between Rarity and Spike as she recalled what she’d been talking to Rogus about earlier. Rogus and I had been talking about what my scent’s unusual does to creatures. She recalled.

“Ah...yeah, I know she’ll blush,” Rogus replied playing along with Spike.

Rarity tapped her hoof on the floor. “It’s rude to keep a lady waiting.” She looked right at Wild Rose, “Darling please tell me what you and Rogus were talking about?”

“I bet you noticed my scent than as you do now?”

Rarity could still smell the heavenly scent of roses. “Of course darling, it simply smells divine.”

“Well…” Wild Rose smiled. “It just brings animals together, not against their will. It works on feelings already there in the heart.” She said it just as she had earlier.

Spike watched Rarity's expression slowly change as what Wild Rose said started to sink in. Rarity’s mouth started to slowly open as a little sound came out followed by her eyes widening. If she were a teakettle, she would hear herself whistling. “So…” Her voice trailed off for a second. “So…um…” She tried to fight the grin that wanted to show on her lips.

Spike watched as a tent of pink came in slowly and darkened, eventually her face had turned red as did most of the rest of her body.

“Not a word Spikey.” Rarity said and could hear her voice at a higher pitch than normal. She could see the look on Spike’s face, his eyes sparkled as he let the smile on his scaly lips grow larger.

“All I was going to say is that you always look beautiful, even if you are now a nice shade of red.” He held up his index claw. “Now, are you going to deny what is now obvious?”

“And what would that be my darling Spikey-Wikey?” She lowered her long eyelashes at him casting her sapphire eyes in shadow and slowly lifted her head. She reached out a hoof and ran it from the base of his chest up to his neck.

Spike fought his eyes from closing at the feeling of her touching him in such a way. His heart hammered in his chest, and he tried to speak but nothing would come out.

“I seem to have my dragon now at a loss for words. Whatever could I do to fix this?” She let a grin slide across her lips. Her hoof came across his cheek and stopped just under his chin. “Would a kiss be of help?”

Spike felt his legs starting to shake, the desire in her eyes and the sultry sound of her voice had his voice frozen. Just simple acts from the unicorn that had captured his heart all those years ago had him falling apart like this was his first time seeing her. He found that he was only able to nod.

Rarity could feel the heat of his scales on the bottom of her hoof that was still under his chin whenever she was near or hugged him that heat would always increase. She pulled him close and let her lips pressed against his.

Spike let out a warm breath as his tongue touched her lower lip and flicked some of the fur. He could hear a little sigh as she opened her mouth and turned her head slightly as her tongue found his. His arms came around her neck.

Rarity allowed herself to be willingly pulled deeper into the kiss as her tongue danced along with his, she felt the points of his sharp teeth. She wasn’t phased by this if anything it made this more exciting.

Spike could feel the emotions pouring out from the kiss. Words can be beautiful when spoken, yet actions can be so much louder. He pulled his tongue back into his mouth as Rarity broke this kiss to take in a much-needed breath of air.

“I got a bit carried away darling. Lost in the moment as it were.” Rarity managed to say after catching her breath.

Spike was all smiles with a dreamy look in his eyes, his mind was still spinning from the kiss. He could feel the fire burning hotter in his chest, with steam wafering from his nostrils.

“I can tell your tongue works just fine now, how about your voice darling?” Rarity asked.

“Sorry love, my head is still spinning,” Spike replied noticing that his vision was still a little blurry.

“So sorry darling…I-” Rarity’s voice had caught in her throat at the same time her mouth dropped open.

Wild Rose and Rogus had caught what had made Rarity’s jaw drop open. They look at one another with a questioning looks on their faces.

“Do you think-” Rogus started to ask

“I have no idea.” Wild Rose replied.

Spike close his eyes and shook his head to clear the cobwebs. Opening them he found his vision clearing. “Huh?” He asked hearing Wild Rose and Rogus. He had his mouth covered by his clawed hand.

“Darling, don’t you recall what you said?” Rarity asked.

Spike nodded. “I said. Sorry, my head is still spinning.” He knew Rarity wasn’t able to see the tiny grin on his lips.

“Are you sure about that darling?” Rarity asked tilting her head a bit. “I could have sworn I heard you say something else.”

Spike felt a laugh starting to rise in his chest, he cleared his throat to suppress the urge to let it out.

Rarity eyed Spike for a few seconds and happened to catch a twinkle in his eyes. “Darling, are you...giggling?”

Spike dropped his claw, kept his grin, and turned his emerald gaze to Rarity. “What? I can’t have a little fun with the mare I’ve loved for years-”

Rarity had jumped up into the air and pounced on Spike who was able to catch her in his arms. “My darling Spikey-Wikey.” Her mane fell over his snout, tears welling up in her eyes as her hooves came around his neck in a tight embrace.

“Guess we came back at just the right time.” Wild Rose said with a smile on her face and a gleam in her eyes.

Rarity turned to Wild Rose and Rogus while she dabbed her eye with her hoof. “Where’d you to wander off to?”

“To a little corner store in Ponyville,” Rogus replied and smiled while he added. “She was in a particular hyper mood; a big grin and she wouldn’t stop jumping up and down.”

“Pinkie Pie-” The second Rarity said that she heard a familiar giggle. Turing her head she spotted Pinkie Pie looking through the window of the Boutique.

“Took you two long enough, glad it finally happened.” The Pinkie Pie darted off in the blink of an eye.

“It won’t take long for her to spread the word.” Rarity said as she shook her mane. “Guess our future is now what we make of it.”

“Yeah, the imagination is the limit to what could and will happen,” Spike replied.
