Detective Rarity and The Case of the Stolen Heart
The Interrogation of Gemini Dream
The door to the office opened, and there entered the suspect himself, Gemini Dream. The moment he entered her office the detective just knew that he was guilty, only guilty people enter an office like that!
"You wanted to see me, Rarity?"
The white unicorn's face was obscured by a large hat, she tilted it up to look him in the eyes, her eyes narrow with suspicion.
"Have a seat, Mr. Dream." She uttered.
"Alrighty then..." He did just that, sitting down in the chair opposite the Detective. "So... What's with the outfit?"
"We will ask the questions here darling!" She responded firmly.
"Rarity, who is ‘we?’"
"Would you like me to repeat myself?!"
"N-No?" He said, sounding absolutely confused.
"Splendid. Now, tell me Mr. Dream, are you aware as to the reason I have called you here?"
"Uhh... No? Did I do something wrong?"
"In a way, yes. You did. You are suspected of committing a very heinous crime my dear Gemini." She got up from her desk, walking around and standing to the suspect's left.
"Is this about the cookies? I told you I was sorry!"
"Have you been? Never mind! But indeed you have stolen something. Something of great importance to me in fact!" She circled around him like a shark, the tension was absolutely palpable.
"Could you maybe elaborate?" With every passing second Gemini was just growing more and more concerned, searching deep within his own memories to try and figure out what he did.
"Not talking, eh? Well, we have our ways of getting what we want. Perhaps we should play a little round of good cop, bad cop?"
"Can I be the bad c-" Before he could finish, she had pressed her hoof to his mouth, silencing him.
"Ah ah! We ask the questions." She retracted her hoof. "Now, Mr. Dream. Where were you on the night of the crime?" She spoke in a very calm manner, this must be the good cop.
"Dearie what crime are you referring to?"
"Don't play innocent with me! You know exactly what you did!" She held a light in front of him, seeming to have switched to the bad cop. "Now where is it?!"
"Where is what?" He squinted from the bright light in his face
"Don't play dumb with me!" She barked.
"I'm serious dearie what are you on about?"
"You're a tough one, Gemini Dream. Never in all my years as a detective have I seen someone so hard to crack." She leaned in extremely close, speaking in a quiet almost seductive tone. "I know you did it darling~, I know you stole my heart, and one way or another, I will get a confession out of you~" They leaned back.
The tone abruptly shifted, Gemini swore he could hear a record scratching somewhere. "Wait... Did you just say..." Realisation hit him as he now knew what was going on. "Your heart huh? Yeah, I stole it! And you know what? I don't regret it either!" He said smugly, playing along with her act.
Rarity gasped in faux bewilderment. "You savage! Caught, as a thief, and refusing to return what you stole?!"
Gemini was beginning to find this to be very enjoyable. "Yeah! What are you going to do about it?"
"Why, I don't know, you ruffian! With an act like yours you surely belong in jail." She spluttered.
"Exactly! Lock me up and throw away the key for all I care, you aren't getting it!"
"Well, I can't exactly do that if you have my heart, it's the key you know!" She winked.
"Well... You're just going to have to steal it back yourself!" He leaned up right in her face to intimidate her. To counteract this Rarity moved closer, putting herself right in his face.
"That's just it!" She gasped, "I'll just have to steal your heart, that way we'll be even!"
"Yeah? Try and take it! I want to see you try!" He glared at her smugly, being met with faux glares from her.
"I think I already have, Darling~" She returned to the almost seductive tone that Gemini could not resist.
"P-Preposterous! How dare you make such an assumption?" His act was beginning to fall apart, as he began to get flustered.
"How dare I NOT make that assumption?" She replied, "Why, Darling, you've fallen head over hooves for me!"
"Is it a crime to be in love, Detective?!" He was only digging himself deeper and deeper by this point.
"No, but theft IS! I'm arresting you for theft of my heart. I sentence you to one night of cuddles and detective motion pictures with yours truly!"
"Make it two nights if you have to! I’ll serve my time!" He blurted out.
The detective rolled her eyes. "Do not tempt me Gemini Dream~"
"So be it then. The punishment does indeed fit the crime." Gemini said.
Sometime later, Gemini was already "serving his sentence," finding himself plopped up on the couch, as Rarity came into the room with some popcorn.
"Well, Darling, I suppose the time has come for you to serve your sentence!" Rarity said, taking out the tape.
"Looks like it.” He said, way too happy for someone about to be incarcerated. "Lock me up darling!" Rarity sat down next to him, levitating the tape into the player, and pressing play, before leaning on Gemini, and putting the popcorn where they could both reach. Gemini grabbed a clump of popcorn with his wing and ate it. "And just so you know, you still aren't getting that heart back."
"Then you won't get yours." Rarity said.
"Keep it." He nuzzled her cheek.
She nuzzled him in return, "Oh, I plan on it. I’ll cherish it forever~" Gemini wrapped one of his wings around Rarity, pulling her in close as the movie started. Rarity rested her head on his shoulder, wrapping her hooves around him watching the movie with him, yet she suddenly remembered something.
“Now, about those cookies?”
Gemini gulped, laughing nervously.
