*Dren’s POV*

I appreciated Nazuna help carrying Zoey as Ashrah’s kriss kept glowing.

Ashrah spoke "Quran Chi is close. The emanations of his evil grow stronger."

Baraka spoke "That is a powerful weapon."

Ashrah spoke "And my perfect ally. As I smite the evil it finds, I am further purified."

Johnny asks "Now I’ve done steps, so I’m all for self-help. But when does a demoness wanna be less evil?"

Hehe, if only you knew, Cage.

Noe spoke "The same could be said about me since I used to be a glitch."

Ashrah spoke "I had spent eternity damned to the Netherrealm. I had assumed that’s all there was to existence. But then I saw Earthrealm, saw Outworld, saw the other realms. Saw there was a better way to live. And that to have it, I needed to cleanse my soul. My sister demons were furious at my change of heart. Kia and Jataaka were the first to hunt me."

Noe spoke "The path to redemption is a long one. I know a cat that would say the same thing."

Syzoth asks "Quan Chi is also a demon?"

Ashrah spoke "Actually, he’s an Outworlder. But he mastered the dark magic needed for unfettered travel to my realm."

An insect buzzed by before Syzoth’s tongue lashed out, catching the insect before being it into his mouth as he crunched and ate it.

Johnny asks "Any idea how he buddied up with Shang Tsung?"

Ashrah spoke "They share a common benefactor. She plucked them both from obscurity, taught them everything they know. I’ve never met her, but there’s no question that she is a sorceress beyond compare."

Noe spoke "We can't give up now guys!"

Ashrah spoke "*With her kriss humming louder* Quan Chi is near.

We kept moving forward as we then heard chanting in the distance before we saw Quan Chi performing some kind of spell on a device.

Johnny spoke "Well this plot just got thicker."

Ashrah spoke "The other realms are in grave danger. Just one soul stealer can kill hundreds of thousands. If he unleashes a battery of them-"

Baraka spoke "Millions will die."

Soulfire spoke "Not good."

Kung Lao spoke "He must be stopped."

Ashrah spoke "I will deal with Quan Chi. Most of you will subdue the others."

Johnny spoke "*Stops Kenshi* Whoa there, big fella. This stop’s where you and Zoey get off."

Kenshi spoke "You heard her! Millions could die."

Johnny spoke "Which is why we don’t want you or Zoey tripping us up out there. Now. Give me your sword."

Kenshi asks "Why?"

Johnny spoke "Just give it."

Kenshi did that as Johnny gave him Sento, much to his shock.

Kenshi spoke "What?! I can’t. Not when you’re-"

Johnny spoke "You saved my life. It’s yours."

“Nazuna, please keep Zoey safe.” I requested as Nazuna nodded.

Nazuna spoke "Okay."

Those of us fighting charged in as we noticed a winged woman, a female demon, and two men.

Winged Woman spoke "Quan Chi!"

The sorcerer stopped as we stopped.

Quan Chi spoke "Yet again you evade capture, Ashrah. And now it appears you’ve found allies.

Ashrah spoke "We are joined against you, sorcerer. You won’t be stealing any souls!

Ashrah clashed with the winged woman as Nazuna and I came in to help out before she slashed her arm, leaving a cut.

Winged Woman spoke "That blade’s enchanted!

Ashrah spoke "It was forged to destroy evil. It’s slain many of your vampire kind.

Winged Woman spoke "We can’t help what we are. That we feed on blood doesn’t make us evil.

The three of us started fighting the woman before we managed to knock her down.

Winged Woman spoke "*Gets up* Is that your best, demon? You’ll need much more.

We then fought her again as we later defeated the winged woman.

Ashrah spoke "I am one step closer to redemption.

Quan Chi kept chanting as we heard spirits wailing, being drawn into and swirling around a green vortex from the Soul Stealer.

Johnny spoke "My god. It’s a… soulnado."

Quan Chi was still chanting as he continued the spell with the forest looking darker, causing something to appear.

Ashrah asks "what dark magic is this?!"

Diddy spoke "Uh-oh!"

The mass of voices spoke "We are Ermac. A collection of souls, bound by Quan Chi’s magic. We live to obey his commands."

Quan Chi spoke "Kill them.

Erma’s started fighting us single-handedly as he sent me, Ashrah and Nazuna flying before we got up, facing the man and the shades guy.

Scarred Man spoke "Quan Chi must succeed if I’m to liberate Orderrealm. I’ll not let him fail!

“You’re making a mistake, buddy.” I warned.

Noe spoke "Don’t go through with this."

Ashrah spoke "Killing one realm to free another is a heinous proposition! One I won’t let you fulfill."

We fought the scarred man with Reptile, Diddy and Knuckles’ help as he had the shades guy to assist him before we managed to knock him down.

Ashrah spoke "*As the scarred man got back up* That you aid Quan Chi speaks volumes about you."

We fought him and his friend again with Reptile, Diddy and Knuckles’ assistance before we soon defeated him.

Ashrah spoke "Take your chaos elsewhere."

Ashrah deflected a magic skull projectile as Quan Chi approached us.

Quan Chi spoke "I always feared you would be trouble, Ashrah. You were not compliant like your sisters."

Ashrah spoke "And now they’re dead by my hand, because you sent them against me. I’ll never forgive you for that Quan Chi!"

We then fought Quan Chi, him using dark magic before we soon knocked him down.

Ashrah spoke "*As Quan Chi got back up* This has been a long time coming, sorcerer."

We fought Quan Chi again as we later managed to defeat him.

Ashrah spoke "When I’m finished here, I will finish you."

Ashrah threw her sword at Ermac, only for him to catch it with his soul power before Ashrah fought him alongside us as he was beating us single-handedly again. Kenshi had Sento drawn, wanting to help us. “I can’t let them die.”

Kenshi charged with a yell before he was sent back flying, dropping Sento. He got back up and searched for Sento before the sword glowed.

A mass of voices spoke "…Kenshi Takahashi…"

Kenshi asks "What?! Who is that?"

The voices spoke "Your ancestors. Come to us."

Kenshi crawled towards Sento and picked it up while standing again.

Sento spoke "In this, your time of need, the Taira will not fail you."

Kenshi’s eyes glowed behind the blindfold before he started fighting Erman as he then stabbed him, drawing in some of the soul collection’s power before Ermac pushed him and Sento away before the sword floated and deflected the projectiles on its own as Kenshi grabbed the sword.

Kenshi spoke "It siphoned his Souls. It now has his power!"

Ashrah, Noe and I caught up with him.

Ashrah spoke "That was unexpected."

Kenshi asks "You’re telling me. *As Soulfire and Applejack arrived to help* Shall we finish this?"

Ashrah spoke "Let’s. *As the six of us confronted Ermac* This fight’s not over. I’ll defeat all of Quan Chi’s minions."

“Don’t worry, you won’t do it alone.” I assured.

Soulfire spoke "You got that right."

Applejack spoke "Darn tootin’."

Ermac spoke "We are many. You are one. We will destroy you."

Ashrah, Noe and I then fought Ermac with Kenshi, Soulfire and Applejack’s help as the collection was assisted by the other demoness before we soon knocked him down.

Ermac spoke "*Getting up* Quan Chi requires your deaths. His demand will be satisfied."

We fought him again with our three friends assistance as the enemy demoness helped him fight us before we later defeated him.

Ashrah apoke "Resistance is never pointless."

Ermac spoke "*Voice distorting* We are many. You are one. We will destroy you."

Kenshi spoke "What’s wrong with him!

Ashrah spoke "Kombat must have weakened the magic that binds his souls together.

Ermac spoke "*Mouth and eyes glowing with a different face and voice* Sindel! *Reaches out* I’ll find you! *Returns to normal before falling unconscious*

Kenshi asks "What was that?"

Ashrah spoke "Watch him. I’ll shut down the soul stealer."

The demoness ran towards it before stabbing the crystal empowering it.

Quan Chi spoke "Ashrah, don’t!"

The crystal then shattered, splitting in half before a burst of soul energy sent her flying with souls escaping the device as one of them flew towards Quan Chi and grabbed him by the head as he screamed in fear before it siphoned something from him, turning his skin completely white before it vanished, leaving him to fall unconscious on his back.

Ashrah spoke "*Walks towards Quan Chi* Since that didn’t kill you, I will."

Kenshi spoke "*As Ashrah was about to finish Quan Chi* No, Ashrah!"

Ashrah spoke "He’s too dangerous to let live."

Applejack spoke "Let him live so Liu Kang can find out what Shang Tsung’s plans are."

“Sounds like we need him alive. But for the other enemies, I say we leave them here.” I said.

Ashrah spoke "*Sighs* Very well."

Everyone else was alright as our friends came to us.

Johnny asks "Well… clearly I underpaid for that. Did you know what it could do?"

Kenshi spoke "The legend never mentioned mystical powers. The souls of my ancestors within it… They intend to guide me."

Johnny spoke "Just don’t forget who gave it to you, Takahashi."

Takahashi spoke "I won’t, Cage. Now let’s get him to Earthrealm."

Johnny spoke "I know home’s here for you, Baraka… but Syzoth, Ashrah… You can come with if you want. I’m sure Liu Kang will welcome you."

Ashrah spoke "I’ve never had a home. That would be wonderful."

Noe spoke "I guess this will be the last time we see you Baraka but you're welcome to visit Equis or Mobius any time."

Baraka spoke "I suppose."

We then started heading out as I carried Zoey while with Noe carrying Quan Chi as we left the rest of our unconscious enemies behind.

*Diddy's POV*

Reptile, Soulfire and I were walking and jumping on rooftops, seeing a festival happening in Sun Do with General Shao, his troops, Li Mei and the police forces in the city patrolling the place. The three of us then noticed Mileena leaving before we decided to head back to the others as they were wearing festival disguises, having put ones on Zoey and an unconscious Quan Chi.

Johnny spoke "Night, night, sweet Prince of Darkness. *Notices the others' disguises* Oh! Perfect. You'll fit right in."

Noe spoke "I look ridiculous..."

Ashrah asks "You couldn't steal a more functional hat?"

Johnny spoke "What? It hides your face. And honestly... it suits you."

Kenshi spoke "I still don't know about this. Carrying him and Zoey around will attract unwanted attention."

Johnny spoke "Look at it out there. It's like Mardi Gras. People will think they just partied too hard.

Noe asks "What's Mardi Gras?"

Johnny spoke "Bud, you have a lot to learn.

Syzoth (Reptile), Soulfire and I jumped down.

Falco asks "Directions?"

Syzoth spoke "Go towards the stage, then right to the portal gate. But there are soldiers and constables everywhere."

Kung Lao spoke "Are you sure these are enough? One person spots us... and we are dead."

Syzoth spoke "And that's why Diddy, Soulfire and I will create a diversion."

Kenshi spoke "They're out for you too, Syzoth."

"Ooh! Ooh ooh ooh ooh! (Come on! I'm a monkey! I can be stealthy!)" I grunted.

Soulfire spoke "I can conceal my aura, making it easier for me to go unnoticed."

Syzoth spoke "And to catch me... they must see me. *Suddenly vanishes, becoming invisible, surprising me and the others*"

Johnny spoke "Damn. You didn't tell me you could go full Predator."

Noe spoke "What we need is a diversion.. and live bait."

Soulfire spoke "Don't worry, Syzoth, Diddy and I can handle that."

I snicker "This reminds me of the time when Chameleo dressed in drag and did the hula."

Noe spoke "I'll move in the shadows towards one of the princesses and warn her."

Soulfire spoke "Hehe, gossip another time, Diddy."

Soulfire and I went off after Syozth as the group later walked through the parade as they saw a few guards ahead.

Kenshi spoke "We could use that diversion."

A rocket whistled before it exploded, knocking down lanterns as a fire started, causing the crowd to panic and flee.

Ashrah spoke "Good work to you and your friends, Syzoth."

The group then started moving with the fleeing crowd as Syzoth, Soulfire and I moved stealthily.

General Shao spoke "Douse the fires! Find who set them!"

Li Mei spoke "Stand down, General. This is my problem, not the military's. *Notices something* Look!"

Due to fireworks going off and exploding in the sky, Li Mei and General Shao noticed the three of us with Syzoth in his real form before we started jumping rooftops again.

General Shao spoke "Syzoth."

Li Mei asks "You know him? Who is he?"

General Shao spoke "nimportant. But it means the otherrealmers are here. Reiko!"

Reiko and Li Mei started following us before the soldier threw a shuriken, cutting Syzoth's left hand as he fell down before fleeing invisible as Soulfire and I followed him, not knowing of the blood trail he unintentionally left behind.

Li Mei spoke "I'll get them."

Li Mei and Reiko continued following us as Kenshi, Applejack and Falco noticed us in trouble.

Kenshi spoke "Syzoth!

Falco spoke "For crying out loud..."

Applejack spoke "Let's go!"

The three started running towards us as Syzoth turned visible as I noticed our surroundings.

Li Mei gasps "Green blood?! You're Zaterran. How can you-"

Syzoth spoke "There is much you don't know. Like what the General is truly up to."

Li Mei spoke "Surrender, and I'll hear you out. I can't if you resist arrest."

Syzoth spoke "You arrest me, he'll execute me. That's not how I intend to die."

The three of us fought Li Mei with Kenshi, Applejack and Falco's help as Reiko assisted her before we soon knocked her down.

Syzoth spoke "*As Li Mei got back up* Our quarrel's not with you. Let us pass."

We fought Li Mei again with our three friends help while Reiko assisted her before she managed to hit us pretty good a few times, knocking the three of us down.

Li Mei spoke "*As Soulfire, Syzoth and I got back up* You have one last chance to surrender. For your sake, take it."

We then fought Li Mei one more time with AJ, Kenshi and Falco assisting us as Reiko helped her fight us before we soon defeated Li Mei.

Syozth spoke "Know that we are sorry for disturbing Sun Do's peace.

Kitana then noticed us. "*Disgusted sigh* Ludicrous."

Tanya spoke "*As Kitana started heading for the three of us* Princess, no! You could be hurt."

Kitana then attacked the three of us, followed up by Tanya before we knocked the Umgadi back.

Kitana spoke "Insurrection from a Zaterran? This is a day I never thought I'd see."

Syzoth spoke "*As Kenshi, Falco and Applejack backed us up* You misread our intentions, Princess. Sadly, we've no time to explain them."

The three of us fought Kitana with her assistance from Tanya as our three friends helped us fight her before we soon knocked her down.

Kitana spoke "*Gets back up* For one who claims not to be a rebel, you fight tenaciously."

We then fought Kitana again with Kenshi, Applejack and Falco's help as Tanya assisted Kitana before we later managed to defeat her.

Syzoth spoke "Soon, you will know the truth."

A Zaterran Umgadi showed up in yellow clothes as she helped Tanya up.

Syzoth spoke "Take the Princess and go. Our fight's not with her... or you.

Tanya spoke "It is now that you've laid your hands on her. I will take your lives as punishment.

We then started fighting Tanya with our friends' help as the Umgadi Zaterran assisted Tanya before we soon managed to knock her down.

Syzoth spoke "We haven't hurt the Princess. This need not continue.

We continued fighting Tanya with the assistance of our three friends as the Zaterran Umgadi helped Tanya fight us before we later defeated her.

Syzoth spoke "Our sentences is suspended, Umagdi."

Soulfire spoke "Thanks for the help."

Applejack spoke "Don't mention it."

We then started heading off before we saw the group surrounded by General Shao, Goro and his soldiers with Quan Chi having escaped as we swung in.

Syzoth spoke "If we die today... we die together."

Johnny spoke "Not comic, but definitely plucky."

We then started fighting the soldiers as Syzoth, Soulfire and me focused on General Shao.

General Shao spoke "It's unlike Shang Tsung to leave loose ends."

Syzoth spoke "Now that I'm free of him, I'll reveal your conspiracy to all of Outworld."

General Shao spoke "*Laughs* You'll do nothing of the kind. Dead men tell no tales."

Soulfire spoke "The truth will come out someday, one way or another."

"(Grr! You'll be getting a kick in the face!)" I hooted as we started fighting General Shao as we soon knocked him down.

General Shao spoke "*Gets back up* You're more grit than I expected. It will make your defeat that much more satisfying."

We fought General Shao again we later managed to defeat him.

Syzoth: You won't silence me, General!"

Everyone else defeated the rest of the guards here as more guards started showing up with Motaro.

Dren spoke "*As he and Nazuna carried Zoey* We gotta leave right now!"

Johnny landed one more punch on Goro while running with us. "Boom! Ha ha!"

All of us managed to escape into the portal and found ourselves back at the Fire Temple as we readied ourselves for anymore fights before the portal closed, allow us to breath and relax as Liu Kang showed up with some Shaolin monks.

Liu Kang spoke "Everyone, you have safely returned."

Dren spoke "Noe got grabbed though."

Noe chuckles "*Pops out of Dren's Shadow* Heh, don't count your Torchics before they hatch, Dren."

Dren was clinging to the ceiling due to his catlike behavior.

Dren spoke "For the love of Deep Blue, quit doing that Noe! You're just as bad as Pigment, if not worse!"

Zoey unconsciously giggled a bit.

Liu Kang spoke "*Notices Kenshi's blindfold* By the Elder Gods!"

Johnny spoke "We had a run-in with Princess Mileena's inner demons."

Kenshi spoke "She took my sight. But Zoey, and in a way, Sento, helped restore it. *Lifts bandana, revealing healed eyes*"

Liu Kang spoke "I am glad that Sento bonded with you. Though it seems that the means might have been different this time."

Kenshi asks "This time?"

Liu Kang spoke "Forgive me, Kenshi. I misspoke. Go. The monks will tend to yours and Zoey's wounds."

Nazuna spoke "Zoey's energy is just low but with her alicorn stamina, it should recover fine."

Zoey groans as she slowly woke up.

Zoey asks "Dren, where are you?"

Dren spoke "*Goes to Zoey's side* I'm right here, Zoey."

Zoey looked around and saw her beloved mate.

To Dren's shock, Zoey's eyes were damaged.

Zoey asks "What happened?"

Johnny spoke "We found Shang Tsung, but he got away. I can see why you're twitchy about him. He's neck deep in some serious shi-"

Liu Kang spoke "Rest. Eat. Then we will discuss."

Johnny asks "*As Kenshi lended Zoey his blindfold* Can I also get a martini? Shaken, not stirred?"

Rei asks "*Shows up* What are you, James Bond now?"

Ichigo shows up via warp ring with Josuke in tow.

Ichigo spoke "I sensed something was off about my black furred counterpart so I had to get Josuke's help."

Josuke spoke "Don't worry, I'll fix them in a jiffy."

Johnny spoke "*As Josuke healed Zoey's eyes* Ahhh. I'm sorry. Meet the newest members of the Earthrealm and Otherrealms Players. We wouldn't have made it back without them."

Liu Kang spoke "Ashrah and Syzoth.

Syzoth asks "You know us?"

Liu Kang spoke "As Earthrealm's Protector, there is much I know."

Ashrah spoke "Do you also know of my former master, Quan Chi? He colludes with Shang Tsung."

Liu Kang spoke "A new deadly alliance? Come, all of you. You must tell me all you know."

Liu Kang walked off with Syzoth and Ashrah.

Johnny spoke "Well... So much for that martini. *Follows the three*"

"Oooh... (Oh boy...)" I sighed.
