Jon Snow, the 998th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, is dead.

He was slain by his own Black Brothers in the shadow of the Wall, named a traitor by cowards. Melisandre might believe in Stannis Baratheon, the true king and the Prince That Was Promised, but she has seen Jon's face in the flames too many times to let him die. The Red Priestess of R'hllor moves to enact a desperate gamble to prevent utter disaster from falling on Westeros.

Winter is coming, and the Others are marching on the Wall. Everything they slay rises again as a blue-eyed wight, and they will not stop. Only Lightbringer and Azor Ahai can end the Long Night.

Equestria is at peace.

With the banishment of the wicked King Sombra and the return of the Crystal Empire, the north is open for the first time in centuries. The Crystal Empire is a thousand years behind, but Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Prince Shining Armor are beloved by the Crystal Ponies, having just welcomed their first foal to a rapidly expanding empire. Railways and settlements are springing up throughout the north, sponsored and encouraged by the royal family to help integrate with Equestria.

And Ponies are disappearing. The new settlements are found abandoned, seemingly overnight. Rumors of Changelings and King Sombra are spreading. Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends have faced every challenge, but they are not prepared for the cold winds rising in the north.

This is a crossover with A Song of Ice and Fire. Knowledge of Game of Thrones will also work.
Update schedule will be better than George RR Martin, but no promises otherwise.
