The neighborhood had been quiet except for the occasional passing car. The quieter it was, the louder her thoughts were, and so as she entered his empty home which housed a quiet so large a drop of a pin would be highly audible, her head filled with a mass of concepts. She trudged his way up to her room, carrying her jacket in her hand as she carelessly threw her keys onto the desk and collapsed on her bed. She waited a while, her turtle being the only thing keeping her company, and it wasn't bad company. All he had were regrets and scenarios of brighter futures had she made better decisions in the past. It's been lonely since she moved away from her friends in Canterlot. She moved into a rather big house in the old part of her town. She lived alone and didn't bother to get to know anyone. Suddenly she heard a ring come from the other side of the room. It wasn't coming from her phone, but from the vintage telephone, she had found in his house when she first moved in. She had only spent a day trying to repair it but immediately gave up, but now it seemed to be fully...working. She ran to the phone and answered, "Hello?" "Howdy, Pinkie! can ya believe Mayor Mare had a heart attack and died, all that in the same day? That's nuts!" A girl on the other end of the phone mumbled into the phone. "I'm sorry, but you must have the wrong num- Today?" Dash asked, incredibly confused. "Oh well sorry then, but yeah today. It's all over the papers!" The voice answered, not bothering to end the call even though it was the wrong number. Dash raised her brow, "Are we talking about Mayor Mare of Canterlot?" "H'Yeah, who else?" The girl answered, her shrug visible in her tone. "Mayor Mare died over fifty-two years ago, though. Is this a joke or something?" Dash chuckles. She thinks this is entertaining. The girl laughed loudly, "Ah don't know about you, but I don't remember Mayor Mare dying in 1918." Now Dash knew damn well the girl couldn't do math. Fifty years ago was most definitely not 1918. "Everyone knows it happened in 1970. Then his right-hand woman Raven was almost shot by a gun the next day." Dash told the girl. She did not know why he was so hellbent on correcting a stranger, but she did so nonetheless. "Raven? Everybody loves Raven. She's fine and giving a speech right now, listen." The phone sounded like it was moving, and suddenly put up to a radio. The radio was barely audible, but Dash could make out words like 'This is a tragic loss.' and such. It definitely sounded like Raven. Dash figured he was talking to a crazy person and hung up. She walked over to her bed, thought about the phone call for no more than 3 minutes before falling asleep. It was the next day. Dash lazily brought up a bowl of cereal to her room to eat. She seemed to stare at her phone, waiting for calls and texts of 'How are you?' from people that never seem to come. She booted up his computer to watch videos when suddenly the old telephone started ringing again. Dash hesitated for a bit. Did she really want to talk to that crazy person again? Then again it wasn't like there was anyone else that would talk to her. She sighed then picked up the phone. "Hel-" "How'd ya know?..." The same girl said into the phone. "What?" "About Raven. How someone was gonna attempt to kill 'er today." She asked seriously. Dash rolled her eyes, "I told you. Everyone in the states knows, we learned about it in school and everything. Didn't you? Also, why do keep saying 'today'?" "What's the date for you?" The girl asked Dash. "Uh..." Dash tapped his phone to check the date, "July 20, 2022." No response. Just heavy breathing that sounded like hyperventilating. After a while the girl spoke again softly, "It's July 28, 1970 here." Now, this was confirmation that whoever Dash was talking to was crazy. "Look if this is some kind of prank I'm going to hang up. This isn't my phone and I'm not 'Pinkie' or whoever that is." "WAIT!" The girl yelled, "Do you live at 034 Acres street?" Dash started freaking out. The girl knew his address. He was going to end the call and contact the police or-or "Don't ya freak out!" The girl read her mind, "That's mah old house. Well, it's my 'old house' for you but ah live there right now. Does the upstairs bedroom still have the hideous flower wallpaper?" "Yes." Dash answered hesitantly." "That means they haven't changed it since ah lived there! Give me a sec." The girl was silent for a while until Dash heard a clicking sound. It was a pen uncapping. "What are you doing?" Dash asked. "Look in the corner of the wall, near the window." The girl told him. "Why-" "Just do it." Dash heard what sounded like scribbling on the other side of the phone. Dash hesitated, but walked to the corner of the room anyway, "What am I supposed to be looking at" Suddenly, old worn-out pen marks started appearing on the wall slowly, like burning wood. 'Hi,' it said. "D'ya see that?" The girl on the other side of the phone asked, before audibly capping her pen again. "Y-yeah." Dash was shocked. This surely was not possible. "Who are you?" They both asked at the same time, but the girl answered first, "My name is Aj." "Aj?" Dash raised a brow. "It's a nickname. Ah don't want to give you my real name yet since you could be some criminal or 'sumthin." Dash chuckled, "Well I'm Dash." "So tell me Dash, who wins the rodeo next year? Asking for a friend." Aj asked, half-jokingly. "I'm afraid I can't tell you that." Dash responded, "Well I would, but it would probably ruin the universe, but morally it's pretty wrong." "Darn, thought that was going to work." Aj asked, "So tell me about the current date. Wait does that sound corny? Hm, tell me about 2022." "Well..."
