Reunion of Childhood Friends
"How absurd!" as the stallion trots rather frustrated, beside the stallion is a vibrant purple color pony with a horn and wings trotting beside him.
"Please Chancellor Neighsay...Give this school of friendship a chance! Other creatures deserve to know the meaning and lessons about Friendship! Not just ponies.". The stallion just scoffed at the idea of any creature other than earth-ponies, pegasi, and unicorns learning the ways of Friendship.
"If you may princess, our top priority is to make ponies learn the basics of education that our school provides, not some kind of bundle of creatures that Celestia knows what would do." He said as he states. As both of them keeps arguing on the topic, a slight knock sounded. Both of them looked at their side and saw a mare with dark orchid and moderate rose with lighter edges on her mane, with moderate opal colored eyes and a scar covering the right and a broken horn.
"Princess Twilight, may I ask the direction of-..." the mare stops as she looks at the chancellor's familiar face. Both the chancellor and the mare stared at each other, staring with each other's gaze.
"Oh, Fizzlepop! So nice to see you!" The princess said in delight to see her. "So...directions to where exactly?".
"The uhm...this school's library.". Twilight points to her side and said the directions on where to go. Fizzlepop thanked her and moves on to the library's direction. The chancellor was stunned at the sight of the mare that was trotting through.
"Anyway, this school priority the learning and teaching of friendship to whoever is willing to try." said Twilight with little worried eyes on her face. The chancellor was not listening and his lost on thought. Twilight shook him gently to get him back to reality, and so the chancellor snapped back to reality.
"Who was that mare just now?"
"Oh, do you mean Fizzlepop? She's a student here at this school, why do you ask?" said with a curious tone in the Princess's voice. "Are you friends with her?" she questioned. The chancellor lost in thoughts again. He nodded and said:
"You can say something like that.". At the library, the doors opened and out came the door is Neighsay. He scanned the area and found that many creatures big and sometimes small, reading books and talking to each other. The library is big with many floors and books that have stories and subjects on everything. He scanned through the crowd of mix creatures and finally landed on her.
Sitting in the corner far from the crowd is Tempest or Fizzlepop. She was reading alone and no pony was even there to check up on her or chatting her. Neighsay, the chancellor, came up to her, many eyes stared while he went to sit next to her.
"May I sit beside you?" said Neighsay. At most, she was shocked to see that somepony sat beside her and anypony but the chancellor himself.
"S-sure." she said with a shock but shyly tone on her voice.
"If you don't mind what is your name?"
"I-It's Tempest, sir." she said while still reading the book that was laying on the table.
"Tempest, huh? What an odd name. Why aren't you with the...uhm...other creatures?".
"Pfft! Other creature? What do you mean by that now?" she said as Tempest giggled like a little filly.
"W-What? I do not approve to make this school with other creatures in it." he said grumpily.
"Well this school teaches this so-called friendship. Still getting there but it's different a lot of ponies here and some have built friendship than other schools, and some are accepting of me here." she said as she closed the book down.
"That's absurd, I will never approve this so-called school, this is just a mashup of creatures that are, who knows what to do.".
"That's not true, Chancellor..." said Tempest in her sad yet soft tone. "These creatures you see here wanted to learn even if they are different they still want to learn our culture and stories, not just friendship." she continued. Neighsay thought about it as much as he hated the idea of approving something that is new. "Just think about it, Chancellor." she said as Tempest gets up from her seat then trots away to put back the book from where she got it from. Neighsay still sitting there deep in thought never had somepony told him a reason.
A good reason, in fact. Not noticing the time, he had spent there on the library grounds for an hour now, still lost in thoughts until somepony tapped him and he snaps back again to see.
"Uhm…Chancellor Neighsay? Are you okay?" Starlight spoke. "You've been there sitting for an hour now and it looks like you are in deep thought." said the vibrant pale pink-ish purple unicorn.
"OH! Sorry about that…uhm, I was just about to leave." Neighsay said in a hurry. Before he leaves, he asked Starlight on Twilight where about. Starlight said that she was in her castle. And so, Neighsay goes to that destination. As he trotted down the hallways, he was seeing every creature besides pegasi, unicorn, and earth ponies. Seeing those, he began in a trance of his self-thoughts again, not noticing a hippogriff standing there, and both he and the hippogriff bump into each other.
"O-oh no! I'm so sorry Chancellor Neighsay...!" it said in a sad expression.
"No, It’s uhm…It is okay. I wasn't looking on where I am going." he said with no thought nor thought about what he said. As Neighsay helped the hippogriff student on the ground, he heads off to the castle where Twilight lives. He knocks at the door. For a while he knocks again, then another. He knocks again, and this the door opened and a small purple dragon with green back scales.
"Is Twilight here, uhm…little dragon?" he speaks in a normal tone as possible.
"Uhhh…Yeah! I can call her if you want, Mister." said the little dragon.
"Sure, little dragon." said Neighsay. After a while, he heard loud panting and hooves stomping and coming closer to him. The doors banged open and seeing an exhausted Twilight leaning on the door with sweat coming from her face and to her hooves. It looked like she ran a marathon to get from one place to another. Neighsay coughed a little to get her attention.
"Princess Twilight, I will not approve your school of friendship, BUT, I will approve it if you can manage it. If not, I will shut the school down, and I will monitoring your progress, Princess." Neighsay said in his confident yet serious tone. Twilight was delighted to hear that it might get her school approved and she was jumping in joy on the spot. "You are not in the green light yet Princess of Friendship." he said as he looks the other way and trots off. As he began to trot away from the castle, he heared Twilight screaming .
"I will not make you regret it, Chancellor Neighsay!!!". He scoffed again from that comment. As he was trotting, he bumped into Tempest again.
"Oh, hey there, Chancellor Neighsay." She said as she greeted him again.
"No, no. Just Neighsay, please.” he said with little confident on his tone of voice.
She giggled a little and said, "Alright, Neighsay~" with a playful tone on her voice. Neighsay began to fluster and trying his best to keep calm and cool. As they chatted while trotting to else where, they got to know each other more and more. They sat on the bench at a park somewhere in Ponyville. "Well that's interesting, Neighsay. I didn't know you were a top student in your class." as she laughs a little.
"Well, I was really focusing on my studies, so it was kind of easy for me," He said proudly. Both of them laughed along in the night sky. As they looked up at the bright stars above, Tempest wonders to herself.
"If the stars up there are as bright as they say, then you should shine like the brightest right?" she said to herself. As Neighsay heard this, he looked at her and back to the stars above.
"`The stars are brighter than usual. You'll shine as the brightest star up above. Even on hard times, you'll continue to keep shining like the stars in a clear sky up above’ somepony said to me once." He said as he scoffed to it a little. Tempest was stunned as she looked at him with gleeing eyes. She was a little stunned by his comment and just silently smiles.
"That was cute." she commented. A blush came out of Neighsay's face as he stumbles on what to say. Tempest just laughs at this, and that mean and cold look on the chancellor's face turns out to be a flustered filly on the inside. "Thank you for spending your time at the school, Neighsay." she said in a grateful tone.
"I-It’s my job to approve that friendship-school, so..." he said before Tempest laughs a little and cuts him off.
"I know, Chancellor, and I mean to get to know me well beside from Princess Twilight and her friends of course." Tempest said and smiles softly. As they said goodbye to each other and greeted goodnight, they parted ways and yet, Neighsay can't shake her from his thoughts. Maybe it's weird, but he is actually smiling.
Tomorrow will be another day for him, but he is looking forward to it.
