//-------------------------------------------------------// Cindy's Best Birthday Party Ever -by Psychoponyman- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Cindy's best birthday party ever //-------------------------------------------------------// Cindy's best birthday party ever Cindy was a bright orange unicorn with a long curly black mane. She sat in an ocean of presents. She had only invited 10 other ponies to her 14th birthday party but there was much more presents than that. Her parents owned one of the largest and most profitable oil companies in all of Equestria and could always buy her anything she wanted. They had even hired a birthday party clown to make her birthday that much more special! There is only one present left now and she tears into it eagerly. It is a green dragon with orange plastic fire coming out of its mouth. She immediately decides that it is her favorite. She looks around at the multicolored mass of toys surrounding her. This will be the birthday where she gets everything she ever wanted! Well almost everything. "Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Cindy, happy birthday to you" Her mom sings carrying an extra large chocolate birthday cake. Everything in her family's huge 4 story mansion was extra large it seemed. "You look like a monkey and you smell like one too!" says her best freind white lightning, a white pegasus with a blue mane and a storm cloud as her cutie mark. "Make a wish Cindy but dont tell us what it is or it wont come true" says Cindy's mom. For a long moment Cindy stares at the candles, her red eyes filled with wonder and curiosity. Will the pretty little fires really make my wish come true? Finally she blows out the candles. Then the ponies gather in the dining room for cake, ice cream, and pizza. Cindy eats much more than anypony else even though deep down she doesn't really want to. It is her birthday and she deserves to have more. Its just the way things should be. Suddenly she doesn't feel so good. BLAAUUU! her eyes go a little bit cross eyed as she emptys her stomach on the floor. Everypony is laughing at her and she laughs too, even though it is all at her expense. She has never been a pony that minded being laughed at, and it is funny after all. She is just glad to see her friends so happy. The sad looking clown sits in a corner of the room making balloon animals, ignored by everypony. Now its movie time. The ponies all sit on the floor in front of the huge flat screen tv. For a while they argue about what movie they want to watch. Cindy gets the final say, of course, and she chooses some goofy scifi horror movie called Galaxy Ponies Revelations. Cindy's parents were one of the few cool parents that understood that horror movies are really meant for kids. By the time anypony is "old enough" to watch them they are usually too jaded to be scared by any of it. Not that Cindy had ever been scared by horror movies. She isn't scared of anything. The movie begins on a massive spaceship with the crew just going about their daily lives. Oh no! The ship in infested with bizarre looking aliens! The aliens ambush the space ponies when they wander off alone and drag them screaming into the darkness. The captured space ponies are then laid full of eggs. They die a horrible death. Some of them are even half awake as the alien hatchlings burst from their chests and crawl away across the cold metal floor. Cindy shoves more popcorn in her face. Now it is time for the space ponies to fight back. They plan their assault on the alien hive taken root in the cargo hold. Then they put on their power armor and grab their plasma rifles. They fight bravely but the tidal wave of ugly alien motherfuckers is unending and they begin to take heavy casualties. There can be no victory. In one final act of desperation the captain activates the spaceships nuclear self destruct sequence and the countdown begins. They then need to get to the escape pods. One especially heroic pony sacrifices herself to slow the aliens down and give her friends time to escape. The few remaining survivors fly away in the escape pods with only 5 seconds left to spare. Then the spaceship explodes in a huge ball of fire that fills the entire screen and Cindy giggles. She loves this movie. Then the movie is over and the ponies go for a swim in the huge outdoor pool. They all jump in at the same time with a huge splash. They then begin to fight over the many pool toys and splash each other endlessly, as if they were not wet enough already. Suddenly there is a loud honking noise followed by a splash. Somepony kicked the clown into the pool! You see it's just so very unexpected, thats why its so funny! Everypony has a good laugh at the clown's expense. Cindy floats on a large red pool donut and relaxes, ignoring the chaos all around her. She is wearing a pair of dark sunglasses that she thinks makes her look cool. It is a bright sunny day. Perfect weather for her perfect birthday. As she floats about she gazes up at the sky and daydreams happily. She knows from her science class that the sun is a supermassive ball of fire millions of miles away. One day a gagillion years in the future the sun will explode, annihilating all life on Equestria. Yet at the same time without it life could not even exist and the whole planet would be a cold dead rock. It is all really interesting to think about but people rarely do. "Cindy we need to talk!" her mother's voice interrupts her pleasant thoughts. This can't be good. She swims over to the edge of the pool. "Cindy you are failing almost all of your classes! Have you really been doing none of your school work? What do you have to say for yourself?". "School is stupid." "Well it's important and you need to do it. You can't just go through life never thinking about the future. Go do your homework or i'll take away your Xbox". As if she ever had it within her to punish her precious daughter for anything ever in her entire life. "You can rejoin the party when you have gotten at least SOMETHING done." "whatever" Cindy crawls out of the pool and trots to the mansions library. The library is huge and full of pretentious books. It even has a fireplace which the servants keep lit. The library is completely empty except for her so she should have no distractions. Maybe she will actually be able to get some work done for once. She sits down in front of the fireplace and gets started on her homework. She had been leaving it all to the last minute as usual and so there is quite a lot of it. After a while she stops. This isnt fair! All her friends are outside having fun and she's stuck in here! This is her birthday! This day is meant to be about her! She doesn't want to be doing homework on her birthday! Actually she doesn't want to do it at all. Blissfully unconcerned with the consequences of her actions she throws the entire homework folder in the fireplace. She then sits there and watches it burn. "Take that Miss Cheerilee! I'm not doing any of that crap you want me to do!" she says defiantly as the fire devours her homework. She enjoys watching the flames. If you are an imaginative person, as Cindy is, you can pretend to see patterns and faces in the fire. It's sort of the same thing as people who pretend to see stuff in the clouds in the sky. For one brief moment Cindy imagines she can see the whole world in the flames. Why should something so pretty be contained? Using her unicorn telekinesis she grabs a still burning stick from the fire. She looks around for something to burn. On the walls of the library there are photographs of her and her family members at holidays and stuff like that. Cindy never understood why people take so many photos. Its not like you are ever going to forget what people look like. She holds the stick to the photos and feels some satisfaction when they take flame. That is not good enough. She needs more. She wanders around the library casually setting fires. It occurs to her now that she is probably going to get in trouble. After all the fire is very large now. She doubts she could put it out now even if she wanted to, which she does not. Look now its spreading to other parts of the house! Cindy watches the fire spread with utter fascination. Its like she invented a whole new fun game! Guess where the fire is gonna go next! Now its in the hallway! Now its in the bathroom! Now its in the kitchen! Now its in her room! Thats amazing! She takes a moment to observe the chaos and destruction all around her. All of this is because of her. The thought makes her so unbelievably happy that she spontaneously bursts into song. It's a song from one of the kids movies she made her parents watch a million times. The one about the funny green man. Suddenly something dreadful occurs to her. She stops singing. The toys! If the fire reaches them their plastic will melt and then they will all be ruined! She gallops to the living room and starts throwing all the toys out the window, leaving only the stupid looking hand knit sweater her grandma had made for her. It actually takes a long time as it is seriously a lot of toys. Much more than you ever got for your birthday thats for sure. Finally all her treasure is safe and she breathes a sigh of relief. Oh look her friend the fire has followed her in here now too! Thats awesome! Cindy rolls over onto her back and starts laughing hysterically completely unable to control herself. "CINDY GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" her dad appears from nowhere. He grabs her and drags her outside. All of the other ponies are standing in a circle outside and looking up at the burning building. Everypony seems to be here. Well almost everypony. "Wheres Lightning?" somepony asks. Hearing this everypony goes dead silent. "M-maybe she just went apple-picking?" somepony else says, but nopony really believes this. They all know where Lightning really is. For the first time Cindy realizes how deeply she fucked up. The two ponies had been best friends for as long as either of them could remember. Whenever Cindy was at her lowest it was always Lightning who lifted her back up and put her back on her feet. Over the years the two of them had gotten in so much trouble together and gotten away with just as much. When they were together the whole world was at their mercy. Cindy looks back at her burning home. Her best friend in the whole wide world is going to die and it is all her fault. Unless... "I'LL GET HER" Cindy galloped back into the burning building. "NOOOO CINDY COME BACK!" wailed her mother, but when had Cindy ever listened to anything her parents said? Once again Cindy is surrounded by her favorite thing in the entire world. The colors really are so very pretty. She is amazed by the raw destructive power of the fire. It makes her feel powerful too. "YES! EVERYTHING MUST BURN!" she shouts gleefully, waiving her front legs in the air. Then she hits herself in the face with her hoof, breaking the hypnotic power that the fire had over her. Stop it! Focus. You are here to find somepony remember? She silently promises herself that she will not leave without her friend, no matter what. A true true friend helps a friend in need. But the mansion is so very large, how will she ever find her? She gallops throughout the house jumping over burning furniture and kicking open doors, looking for her freind. Her mane and tail are just a little tiny bit on fire but she doesn't care. The smoke is a problem. It hurts her eyes and makes it hard to breath, but that doesn't stop her. She can do anything she puts her mind to. The building had begun to collapse now. Near her a large chunk of the ceiling collapses with more than enough force to crush a small magical pony. She does not have much time. She wonders why she is not more afraid than she is. After all she is very aware that she is probably going to burn to death, and it's not like she wants to die or anything stupid like that. She is a little bit afraid but somehow it's not the paralyzing and panic inducing fear it should have been. Its more like the fear you feel when you are on a rollercoaster. All of this danger is just so very exciting! She has never felt so alive! Then she remembers Lightning and feels guilty. Whats wrong with her? She shouldn't be having this much fun when her friend is in trouble! Wait did she just hear something? "SOMEPONY HELP!" she hears from above. Lightning must be up there on the 4th story. Not the best place to be in a situation like this but Cindy races up the stairs without hesitation. She finds her friend trapped under a pile of burning debris. "Cindy!" Lightning cries out seeing her. Cindy quickly begins pushing the debris away. While she is doing this the stairs behind her collapse but for the moment she doesn't think about it. Unburying her friend is all that matters. Finally Lightning is free and she stands up. Lightning is covered in painful looking bruises but does not appear to be seriously hurt. She is in shock and seems unable to do what is necessary to save herself. "Cindy you came back for me thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you" sobs Lightning. The two ponies embrace each other as the fire rages all around them. "You need to goooo now Lightning! fly away!" says Cindy after a while, pushing her friend away from her. Lightning looks at her with tears in her eyes then flys out a nearby open window to safety. Yay! She did it! She really did it! She saved her friend! She is a hero. But how is she going to escape? The stairs are gone. She certainly isn't getting down that way. "Oh god Cindy I think you're gonna have to jump!" says Lightning, flying in place just outside the window. Cindy looks out the window not entirely too thrilled about her options. At least there is grass below her, that should make this slightly less brutal. Cindy looks back at Lightning one last time. It is very common for ponies that do not have wings to sometimes be jealous of the ones who do. Jealous of the way they fly freely though the air. Cindy certainly wishes she had wings right now. Because this is going to hurt. She jumps out the window. Her body does cartwheels in the air as she falls. She hits the ground and her whole world goes dark. She wakes up in a brightly lit room. About two thirds of her body is covered in bandages and she is laying down on a comfortable bed. She is in a hospital. Everypony from her party is there in the room with her. They had been waiting for her to wake up. "Good to see you are finally awake, you had quite a nasty fall" says a nurse pony. "You have a skull fracture and many broken bones...but nothing so bad that it wont heal in time. We expect you to make a full recovery. You really are one very lucky pony. Things could have been a lot worse. And it was an incredibly brave thing you did, saving your friend like that." In spite of her physical condition Cindy is extremely happy. She is not dead! Even better she's not even permanently crippled or had her face melted off or anything like that! Thats awesome! Now she can continue to be alive and play with her friends and have fun! Suddenly Cindy realizes that she was not actually expecting to survive. All the other ponies in the room are talking over each other but Cindy isnt listening to any of them. She lays there on the hospital bed with a huge smile on her face, thrilled to simply be alive. She takes a moment to think about everything that happened. She sure made a big mess this time hadn't she? Good thing nopony knows what she did. She certainly isn't going to tell them. It will just be her little secret. And its not like she is ever going to do THAT again, she tells herself, with the absolute certainty of an addict who has done drugs for the last time. Well maybe she could still light small fires! Just every once in a while. But wait, something is different! There is an image of a red ball of fire on her flank. She has finally gotten her cutie mark! Now she really has gotten everything she ever wanted! Well except for bones that aren't broken of course. That actually does kind of suck. But other than that this had been her best birthday party ever, ever. Author's Note Cindy the pyro pony is not a role model. Never do any of this shit in real life.
