Keep Moving
Magic Star was your average unicorn; trying to find out her talent, all kinds of stuff like that. She already had her talent though, so all she was trying to do was to find out what to do with her talent. She could perform stronger magic, stronger than most ponies. However, she knew she could never compete with Twilight Sparkle, an out-of-the-ordinary unicorn who is gifted with even stronger magic. Magic Star felt like she was completely useless to everypony.
Every job she tried out she managed to fail and get fired from, so she knew that her life was hopeless. She couldn't compete with legendary ponies, be the princess's private student, she knew she had to be extra lucky just to be special. It wasn't every day you woke up and found yourself with five friends who somehow represented the Elements of Harmony.
Magic Star was walking along the road when she noticed a small young unicorn filly dart in front of her with her two friends, a pegasus and earth filly, exclaiming happily as she shook her flank side-to-side. A cutie mark twinkled softly. It was a little bell that had music notes around it. She smiled a little, as it reminded her of herself when she was a young filly.
Suddenly, the little filly stopped and stared at Magic Star and waved. Magic Star was a little surprised at the filly's out there actions, so she waved back at the little filly. The little filly cried, "Look, look at my cutie mark miss!" Magic Star smiled more and nodded, and turned to the side a little to show the filly her flank.
Magic Star's cutie mark was a magic wand with a sea-green star, with other lighter sea-green stars around it. The filly jumped up happily, as if she liked the look of her cutie mark. The little filly ran off as her friends trudged behind her, bummed out that they didn't have any cutie marks. Magic Star sighed and quickly started again on the road.
Seeing the little filly made her mood more happy. The little filly had such approving actions that it made her want to run back and hug her. However, she knew it would make her look like a filly-fooler, so she quickened her pace. Some sort of adrenaline made her faster and she didn't know why.
She was about to trot through a brush of neon blue flowers when a zebra called from the other side. "Listen to the words of me, these plants will harm thee!" Magic Star quickly went around, feeling the urge to thank the zebra for her warning. However, she continued on without a word, the eerie feeling of Everfree Forest making it feel like a monster would come out and gobble her whole. The air was foggy and it made Magic Star cough very violently. The sun started to fade and hide as she began to enter deeper, the brush getting thicker by the moment.
Suddenly, something rustled in the bush. She jumped back, landing in a pile of leaves when the creature in the bush popped out. It was a dragon and the sight of him made her fidget violently. The dragon jumped back and cried out at the sudden face, but after awhile of groaning and moaning, he came back out, a wagon behind him, full of gems. "Oh, sorry I startled you.." he said, helping her up.
She dare not speak a word for she came in this place to stay quiet and think about her life thoroughly. He sighed and said, "Can't you speak?" She nodded her head slowly and he muttered. "Oh, so you just don't wanna speak, huh?" She nods again, this time more quickly. He pulls the wagon and begins to head the opposite direction, not saying another word to her. She sighs and still continues to walk through the heavy and dense brush.
The world was empty and abandoned in the Everfree Forest. It was like the world told it it would have to care for itself, and the Everfree Forest agreed, letting every creature there roam and live on its on; to fend off the dying world inside the heavy canopy's of the trees. Light hardly twinkled through the leaves, on occasion there was a tiny drop of it on the forest floor, and every plant and living thing would fight for that single piece of it. Magic Star realized why everypony was so afraid of the forest. It was scary and it was like reading a book about 10 friends who decided to go to an abandoned manor, and all end up getting killed except one who knocks out the killer.
She felt her skin prickle. She wondered if using her horn to create a light source would be good, unless every creature would try and get it. She decided to give it a try. Her horn flicker, creating an amazing blue flame that began to envelop the forest with its warmth. She continued on when she heard something. She heard..crying?
She lifted her head higher and looked around, when she noticed a pony laying in the brush crying and crying about being humiliated, and she quickly rushed over. She pulled the pony up, scratches from tree branches aligned on her arms. She was trying to do suicide! Many tree branches were sleeping around her laying place, crusty with blood. She tried to bring back the pony to earth but she wasn't paying attention. She slapped her a couple of times when her eyes shuddered and stared at Magic Star. She threw Magic Star back against a tree trunk and yelled. "Why do you disturb Trixie?! Can't you see she is busy?!" Magic Star coughed, her words thrown around in her mouth.
"I'm very sorry I wanted...to help you..I came here..to find out...what to do...with life.." Trixie stared up at Magic Star and enveloped her horn with weak magic. She stared at her cutie mark and jumped back. Trixie showed her cutie mark, which was a magic wand with a moon behind it. Both had similar wands but the rest of the cutie mark was different. Trixie exclaimed happily,
"You must be Trixie's sister!" Magic Star bumped back into the tree and shuddered violently. It couldn't be possible, could it? Magic Star was so confused she nearly fainted but Trixie came over and hugged her tightly. "You don't know how long Trixie has been wanting a friend! But she got more! Trixie got a sister!" She cried.
"Is it...possible? It couldn't be...could it?" Magic Star asked, looking at Trixie's features. She was a unicorn too, and she had nearly similar colors, but not quite. Trixie's pelt was more of different, sky-blue. She also had a purple cape and hat with stars and moons on it. "Stars and...moons?" Magic Star questioned.
"You have stars, Trixie has a moon! It makes perfect sense to Trixie! It does!" Trixie replied, tears beginning to fall down her face. "Trixie is so happy...Trixie has a friend.." Magic Star smiled, feeling welcome to somepony for once. It all made perfect sense to her too. Now that she had a friend with her she knew she couldn't give up life now.
"Maybe we can work together? In Ponyville?" Trixie immediately shook her head. Magic Star was confused. Why not Ponyville? Was it because of Twilight Sparkle and her friends taking all the fame? Was Trixie humiliated before?
"Trixie does not want to go back to Ponyville ever again. Trixie wants to go somewhere else..." Trixie said, sighing, the moment making them find and decide where to go. Suddenly, Magic Star remembered Manehatten. Everypony there loved a good show.
"How about Manehatten...Trixie?" Magic Star asked slowly, levitating Trixie's hat and cape. Trixie jumped up in excitement.
"Yes! Trixie likes that idea!" Trixie exclaimed. She began a fast paced walk when Magic Star caught up and put the hat and cape on Trixie, smiling as she did so.
"Lets go give those ponies a real show, Trixie."
