For the majority of the ponies in the little but ever growing town of Tall Tale, the railway that bears the town's name and gave it the ability to grow the way it did, has become a mark of pride, especially for those who work on the line. It is one of the shining beacons of Equestrian rail for safety, reliability, determination, and success.

But, despite all the accolades the line has received, it is till a railway. And even the best railways have their shameful and sorrowful moments. The Tall Tale Mountain Short Line had thankfully seen few such moments in number, yet each one is just as tragic to all as the others. All that is, except for one. One accident would not only scar the railroad's reputation and damage their rolling stock, but was also an absolutely devastating blow to the entire town that relied on the railway so. It would go on to forever be known as the Short Line's truly, Darkest Day.....
