//-------------------------------------------------------// Two Days -by Snugglewarmscale- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Two Days //-------------------------------------------------------// Two Days Hitch smiled happily as he rocked with his son. The tiny dragon slept soundly in his hooves. It had been a little over a month since he hatched from his egg. But, for Hitch that was just yesterday. He hadn't put much thought into being a father. All he ever thought about was being the best sheriff his town could ask for. Now he couldn't even imagine a day without his little Sparky. He felt him squirm a little in his hooves. He smiled and readjusted his little body in his hold. Sparky purred happily as he nuzzled against his father's chest. Hitch looked up at the clock; he saw it was almost six in the morning. He chuckled a little as he remembered how loud his son was crying just a while ago. He whispered to him. “I love you, son.” Sparky smiled in his sleep; his purring growing a little louder. Hitch gently stood up and walked back over to the crib. He gently placed his son down on the bed and covered him up with his small blanket. He heard him whimper a little. But, with a few gentle hushes and the placement of his favorite stuffed crawfish. Sparky was sleeping peacefully in his crib once more. Hitch could just sit there and watch his baby boy sleep all day. But, today was going to be a rather busy day for the both of them. He had a day off and he was going to be spending all day with his son. He began to think back. Back to the day his son entered the world. Hitch yawned as he turned on the kitchen light. The kitchen itself was just like any other kitchen. The only difference being was the large incubator he had sitting to the side. He smiled as he walked up to it and gazed through the window. In the center of it sat the egg he had found at the beach. Thank to Queen Haven's pet he learned that it was a dragon egg. He could hear Sunny's voice saying how dragons had not been seen in Equestria for generations. He started to take the top off the incubator as he said. “Good morning.” He had said that with a slight tune. Thankfully, nobody was in his house to hear that. He continued. “Good morning little egg.” He started to gently rub it. A million thoughts raced through his mind. He wondered if he would be a good father. He remembered some of the classes he took back in school. But, this was way different than raising a foal. He tried to find out as much information on dragon hatchlings. Unfortunately, books that mentioned dragons; we're mostly fiction books. The only book that even had basic information on dragons and their eggs; was a book Izzy found in a bookstore in Bridlewood. He couldn't thank Izzy enough for the book. The book did provide some useful information on dragon eggs. Mainly the temperature they needed to be kept at. He noticed close to the tip of the egg was a pip hole. He smiled that meant his baby was beginning to hatch. All those nights he spent with the egg. When he first candled it. He swore he never smiled so big at the sight of the embryo. He spoke to the egg. “You can do it, little guy.” The egg seemed to shake a little as he placed the top of the incubator back on. He was thankful to have both today and tomorrow off. He wanted to be here for this moment. The moment his baby entered the world. Two months of waiting coming to an end in twelve more hours. He walked over to the coffee maker and started making some coffee. As he was putting the coffee grinds in he heard his phone ring. He picked it up and answered. “Hello?” Sunny's voice spoke. “Hey, Hitch. Good morning.” He smiled and replied. “Morning, Sunny.” He started filling the maker with water as he asked. “You and the girls still coming tomorrow?” He heard her respond. “We wouldn't miss it.” She asked him. “Have you thought of any names?” As he pressed the brew button he replied. “Not yet.” She asked him. “What are you hoping for?” He took a quick whiff of the brewing coffee before he answered. “I just hope my baby is healthy.” He took a quick glance at the incubator. The glance turned into a small quiet stare. Sunny's voice called out to him. “Hitch!” He jumped and juggled his phone a little before getting a good hold of it. He sighed in relief as he brought it back to his ear and he answered. “Sorry, Sunny. I'm still here.” She asked him. “Worried?” He sighed and answered. “Yes.” He reached for one of the cabinet doors and opened it; allowing him to pull out a mug. He continued. “I just hope I can be a good father.” Sunny tried to reassure him. “Hey, you'll be a great dad Hitch.” Hooves could be heard in the background. He heard her greet Izzy. “Morning Izzy.” He could barely hear the other mare respond; after bidding a quick goodbye to his friend. He returned to the egg and smiled. Just a few more hours and his baby will be in the world. The day progressed slowly for him. He mainly spent the day cleaning and getting the last bit of the nursery put together. He also made sure to have plenty of gems stockpiled for his baby. Again, he would have to thank Izzy. As he worked he would occasionally check in on the egg. His baby had made the pip hole larger throughout the day. And, by the looks of it, the baby was starting to zip. Just as the sun began to set he heard a knock at his door. He smiled as he walked to the door and opened it. Allowing him to see his friends standing at the entrance. He greeted them. “Hey, guys.” He stepped back as he welcomed them in. “Come on. The baby is starting to hatch.” The girls wasted little time entering his home and entering the kitchen. As he entered the room; he could hear small whimpers coming from inside the incubator. Zipp and Sunny parted ways and allowed him to walk in between them. Slowly, Hitch removed the top of the device and placed it off to the side. The egg now had about seven to eight holes around the top. It was also wiggling and the baby was whimpering and. Pip asked. “Is it squeaking?” Another audible squeak was heard; the mares in the room awed at the cute sound. While Hitch gently rubbed the shell. The baby wiggled inside the egg as it pushed against the shell. He encouraged the baby. “You can do it. You're so close.” The baby squeaked again as it continued to push against its shell he continued. “Come out and see me.” Then with another push, the top of the egg was pried further open. From the egg, the small hind leg of a dragon hatchling popped out. Hitch awed as he said. “Look at his little leg.” Pip commented. “Aw. Look at this Pipsqueaks.” She had her camera out and was live streaming the event. More squeaks and whimpers were heard from the egg as the baby continued to push its way out. Hitch gently touched the egg and began to turn it. As he turned it; the top of the egg became looser and began to break away. He stopped mid-turn after noticing the baby's head was curled up underneath one of its legs. Once he was sure no harm was going to come to his baby; he continued to turn the egg over. As he did he said. “You got this little one.” He began to gently set the egg back down. He continued. “You've got this.” The baby squeaked and then with one more big push its head and most of its upper body was out of the egg. The girls cheered as the baby lay in the incubator. Its tiny lungs taking in deep breath after breath. The poor thing was exhausted. Hitch spoke to his baby. “Oh, little baby.” The hatchling whimpered before pushing the bottom half of its egg away. Finally, the little dragon had entered the world. His baby had been born. Hitch reached for a towel he kept close by and gently scooped the baby up. It whimpered and cried as he gently cleaned the fluid off of his baby's scales. As he cleaned his baby he found out the hard way that it was a boy. The girls had a good laugh while he rolled his eyes. After a little while; Hitch was cradling the newborn dragon in his hooves. He was smiling down at his baby boy; who was sleeping peacefully in his hooves. He spoke to his baby. “You did so good baby boy.” He gently kissed the baby on its forehead. The dragon cooed a little as it tilted its head upward. Its eyes started to open; allowing him to see the smiling face of his father. The baby coed before resting its head on his father's chest again. As he rested he inhaled his father's scent. Whimpering a little as it rubbed its little body against his. It was cold in this new world. Hitch didn't care if the girls saw him crying right now. He was too happy to care about his image. Too happy to worry about being called a big softy. He was happy to finally be a daddy. He checked to make sure the towel was secured as he looked at Sunny. She smiled and asked. “Do you want me to hold him?” He nodded and went to hand him to her. The moment his baby was placed in her hooves. He began to whimper just before he started crying. His little claws reaching out for his daddy. Almost instantly Hitch took hold of his baby and began to gently rock him. The baby stopped crying a short time later and started sleeping peacefully again. All of them smiled at the precious sight; not only had they just witnessed the birth of a dragon. But, it was the first dragon born and seen in Equestria in generations. Izzy asked. “What's his name Hitch.” Hitch still hadn't thought of a name. What does one call a baby dragon? As he was in thought his son yawned; as the baby dragon yawned. Small sparks of flame flew from his mouth. It caused the mares to jump back. While Hitch patted out the small embers that had ignited on the towel. Sparks? Sparks? That was it; that was his son's name. He then proudly said. “Welcome to Equestria. Sparky.” That was a happy memory and so were the other memories he had made with his son. From the time he took his first steps. To the time he first set fire to a sand castle and turned it into a stone pyramid. He chuckled as he finished packing his baby bag and slipped on his baby pouch. He could hear Sparky babbling excitedly. He turned and looked at his son in his high chair. Watching as he played with his stuffed crawfish. He walked over and asked. “Are you and Mr. Bug ready to go see Uncle J.” Sparky gasped and started laughing while reaching for his father. Whenever he heard they were visiting Uncle J he would always get excited. Hitch laughed as he picked the little dragon up and placed him inside the pouch. After checking to make sure both his baby and his bag were secure. He walked over to the counter and tapped a strange star-shaped ornament. The ornament glowed a bright yellow and a portal opened in front of Hitch. He looked down at Sparky; smiling at him as he said. “Here we go!” He then jumped through the portal; Sparky's laugh echoed through the home as the portal closed behind them. Hitch landed in the middle of a town's illuminated square. It appeared to be nighttime for the two. But, for the residents of Traverse Town. Nighttime was the only time for them. The town itself was small separated by only three districts. A voice called to them. “Hitch! Sparky!” Hitch smiled and turned around; while Sparky squealed out in excitement. In front of Cid's shop stood a male human with gray hair. The human appeared to be a teenager; he wore black pants and a heavy leather jacket. He wore a dark purple shirt underneath the jack. And, he wore zip-up boots. He started walking to them. Sparky poked his little head out of the pouch and laughed in delight. The human fist-bumped/hoofed with Hitch before looking down at the dragon. He smiled as he reached down and picked the little dragon up. He said. “How's my favorite nephew?” His reply was a small squeal as the baby dragon reached for him. He gently hugged the dragon before asking. “How you been Hitch?” Hitch smiled before answering. “Been good.” He asked him. “How have you been Jack?” Jack answered. “Can't complain.” he then lifted Sparky over his head and placed him on his shoulder. He heard Sparky laugh as the little dragon wrapped his claws around his forehead. While he held Sparky's legs. He turned towards the door of the third district and said. “Come on. I got your beds made for ya.” Hitch smiled happily as he followed his friend back to his home. Yes, he had today and tomorrow off back in Equestria. But, thankfully here in Traverse Town. Two Days in Equestria was Two whole weeks here. Which is why he loved coming to this world. Even though the first time was completely by accident. But, that was a story for another time. The two made their way to the entrance of the second district. Hitch and Jack caught each other up on current events. Jack had a good laugh as Hitch told him of Izzy's recent blooper. While Jack told him about a crazy assignment he recently had. As they entered the second district; Sparky began giggling quietly while also pulling on his uncle's head. Jack knew what the munchkin wanted and a devious grin formed across his face. Hitch knew that grin and said. “Jack.” He noticed that Jack had started walking a little faster. He continued. “Jack, Jack don't you do it.” He noticed the soles of Jack's boots started to glow. He started to run at them yelling. “Jack, don't you do it!” Jack defied him while yelling. “I'm gonna do it!” He then jumped and started running along the fronts of the shops. Hitch was yelling at him to knock it off. While Sparky squealed out in delight; his tiny arms waving in the air as his uncle jumped from the building and glided over to the other side of the square. Jack enjoyed flow running. He enjoyed it a little more while giving his nephew a fun ride. The moment his feet touch the front of the buildings on the other side he jumped off and somersaulted. He aimed himself at a light post-banner poll. The moment he touched it; he was springboarded into the air. His nephew yelled. “Whee!” Hitch yelled. “Both of you get back here!” Jack and Sparky landed on top of the bell tower. They turned and looked; only to see Hitch running up the side of the building. His hooves glowing with flow energy. Jack smirked as he ran up one of the pillars and jumped to the opposite wall. The moment his feet touched the wall he pushed himself off and flew through the air. Narrowly passing just over Hitch's head. Sparky was laughing his little head off. For the next hour, Hitch chased the two all over the second district. Jack and Sparky laughed like they were mad. While Hitch yelled warnings and threats at them. Mostly at Jack for being a bad influence on his son. But, he couldn't deny a good flow chase was always fun. As Jack landed on top of the fountain he lost his foot and fell into the water. He made sure to hold Sparky up in front of him; that way the baby wouldn't be crushed under him. He hit the water with a loud splash; displacing a little water as he floated just above the bottom of the fountain. Sparky laughed as he sat in the shallow water. His little arms held up in the air; as the water from the fountains' jets rained down on top of him. Hitch landed in front of the fountain. Finally, he caught the two. As he walked up to the fountain; he saw Sparky splashing in the water. While Jack simply rested like he was in a hammock. He looked at the with a stern stare. Jack noticed and invited him. “Hitch, come in the waters great.” Before Hitch could reply he was suddenly pushed into the fountain. He yelled out at the sudden shock of the cold water on his body. Both Sparky and Jack laughed; while he stared back at the one who pushed him. Jack had summoned one of his spirit friends. An armadillo that had already rolled itself into a ball and started rolling away. He wanted to be angry. Oh, he wanted to be angry. But, the anger faded when his baby boy walked up and hugged him. He sighed what was he going to do with these two? He returned his baby's hug with a hug of his own. Sparky giggled as he nuzzled his father. While Jack and Hitch relaxed in the calm water of the fountain. After a little while, Jack stood up and said. “Alright come on.” He climbed out of the fountain and turned back to Hitch. Extending his hand out to him while saying. “Let's get to my place and get out of the cold air. The last thing we need is a cold to catch us.” Hitch chuckled as he grabbed hold and was helped out of the fountain. He placed Sparky on his back. The little dragon purred as he nuzzled into his favorite spot on his dad's back. Hitch was about to grab his bags he had left in front of the hat shop. But, Jack beat him to it as both his baby bag and his pouch walked past them. Jack had summoned two spiders and were heading towards the third district. He shook his head while looking at Jack; he said. “You enjoy this don't you?” Jack replied. “Shall we not rest peacefully in an ant bed? Always wondering if we are to lose our heads?” Hitch asked. “What?” Jack laughed and apologized. “Sorry. The other day I was hanging out with Hatter.” Hitch chuckled before the two started making their way to the third district. He tilted his head to look over his shoulder. But, he was really trying to hear what Sparky was doing. The baby was sound asleep on his back. He smiled as they continued walking down the alley. Yeah, the next two weeks were gonna be great. Jack gently pushed open the door to his home. Darkness ruled the inside of his home for a moment. That was until he pulled a card out from his wrist and threw it at the fireplace. The moment the card hit the logs; a fire that would often change colors illuminated the room. The inside of the house was amazing. It looked like something out of a fantasy book. A large table sat in the center of the small home. It looked like the table was carved from a large tree. There were even small stumps that acted as chairs. The walls themselves looked like tall grass. And flowers grew on the ceiling; their bulb's added more light to the dark house. But, the light was the same color as a peaceful night sky. There were small flowers that glowed like stars. Yes, this house was anything but common. But, to Jack it was all common; especially if you were born and raised in Wonderland. He pulled another card and threw it at the table. In a magical poof of smoke; the table was set with a menagerie of teapots and silverware. Some of the pots were dancing around; along with most of the silverware. Hitch chuckled a little as he walked into the home. Jack closed the door before asking. “Youngin need his nap?” Hitch answered. “Yes.” He heard Sparky coo as he reached for him. Lifting him up and over his head. Allowing him to cradle in his hooves. Sparky opened his eyes for a moment and smiled. He reached for his father and gently hugged his neck. Hitch hugged him back while saying. “Love you Sparky.” A magical glow came from a corner of the room. He looked and smiled as he saw a crib had been placed in the corner. The crib looked like it had grown from four small trees. Their branches had grown in a way to mimic a crib's walls. He walked over and gently placed Sparky down on a soft mushroom bed. A massive ladybug acted as his pillow. While a large tarantula acted as a warm blanket. Sparky whined a little his little arm reaching for something. Hitch knew he wanted Mr. Bug. Before he could turn toward his baby bag. Mr. Bug was brought up into the crib. The stuffed toy came to rest under Sparky's claw. The moment his arm touched his favorite toy; he pulled it close and snuggled with it. Purring happily as he continued to nap. Hitch chuckled as he saw a small colony of fire ants walking out of the crib. He thanked them. “Thanks.” One of the ants appeared to turn and nod at him. Before all of them vanished in small sparks of light. He turned and looked at his friend. “You're gonna have to get me a deck of those cards one day.” Jack replied as he pulled another card. “Sorry, my friend. Royal family only.” He threw the card at the wall creating some lounge chairs. Jack sat in one of them; while Hitch sat in the other. Sighing as his body relaxed into the soft chair. A small lily-pad table walked over to him. On it stood a teapot that tipped itself over. Out from the nozzle, a small plate along with a teacup, cinnamon sugar cubes, a lemons slice, and a small spoon poured out. Each item landed in its proper place. The spoon began to stir the tea on its own. Hitch smiled as the tea cup floated in front of him. He thanked it. “Thank you.” The teapot whistled a thanks before the table walked over to Jack. From his chair, a small buttercup grew and formed into a teacup. If filled with tea from the bottom up; the teapot poured what appeared to be a yellow orb into his hand. The orb turned out to be a sweet snack known as a butter ice ball. It tasted like butter-cream ice cream. Wrapped in a soft shell of toasted muffin bread. He thanked the teapot. “Thank you. Delicious as always.” The pot bowed. Hitch felt his stomach rumble and he asked. “May I have one of those too?” The teapot whistled happily as the table walked back over to him. The teapot tilted itself over and poured out a small serving plate. Onto the plate, a strange cube was deposited. It looked like a Rubik's cube. The only difference was that it just had two solid colors on both sides. The rest were blank. He asked. “What is this?” Jack looked over and laughed before instructing. “Solve it.” Hitch looked at him and did as instructed. The cube only needed one turn and it was solved. It then did something outstanding. It floated in front of him and unfolded. Revealing a small multicolored sphere inside the cube. It looked like a Rubik's cube but it was round. The small sphere landed in his hoof and he asked. “What is it?” Jack answered. “Rubik popper.” Hitch looked at him and instructed him. “Pop it in your mouth and chew it.” Hitch was unsure at first but a growl from his stomach swayed his mind. Like he was told he popped the sphere in his mouth. It tasted like freshly made chocolate and baked bread. The flavor instantly changed. Now it tasted like coffee that had just been brewed to perfection. It was followed by the flavor of his favorite cake. He commented. “Wow.” It was then he noticed his hooves and nearly yelled. “What the! Whoa!” His body was rapidly changing colors. The color pattern was the same as the Rubik's cube. He heard Jack laughing. When Hitch looked at him he explained. “Rubik's wonderful yummy pop popper.” His voice sounded like that of someone in a commercial. “A wonderful treat that you eat. Colors paint your body so neat. If your day is feeling sour. Or if the in-laws are visiting for an hour. Try this super treat. Rubik's wonderful yummy pop popper.” Hitch chuckled his friend was just as spontaneous as Izzy. But, he seemed a little more controlled than she was. He sighed in relief as he relaxed into the chair. The chair itself began to turn into a pea pod. It wrapped around him and closed; allowing him to nap in peace. Jack joined the nap part and relaxed in his chair. It turned into a Venus fly trap. The mouth of the pod closed around him. Closing him inside a nice warm and snug bed. Hitch woke up about two hours later and yawned. The bed had turned back into a chair and helped him to his hooves. A teapot with a small daisy on top of it floated in front of him. It puffed some steam in his face; allowing him to fully wake up. His son was giggling happily as he was carried about on the ceiling. A tarantula hand him in its hold and was running rapidly across the ceiling. He chuckled as his son came to a stop just above him. The spider began to lower him down. Sparky laughed as he looked at his father. The spider held him upside down. Hitch said. “Come here, baby.” Sparky cooed as he was taken from the spider and flipped right side up. Hitch then hugged his baby again before walking over and picking up his pouch. After getting the pouch, Sparky and Mr. Bug secured. He walked out of the home and down into the courtyard of the third district. He stopped just in front of the yard fountain. Its wonderful light sparkled on the jets of water that shot up from it. He could barely make out the images of two dogs in the fountain. Sparky began to babble while looking up at the sky. Hitch followed his gaze and noticed a meteor shower was happening. The area they were in was a little too bright. But, in the second district. He smiled as he looked at his baby and said. “Hang on.” He began to run to one of the walls; his hooves illuminating with flow magic. Sparky gasped and laughed happily just as his father started running up the wall. He then jumped and glided across the courtyard. Spark squealed in delight as they soared through the air. Hitch landed on a light pole and used it to springboard himself up to a scaffolding. He then used it to wall jump to the upper part of a large apartment building. He ran up the side of the building before jumping over to the roof of the previous one. The moment his hooves made contact with the roof; he jumped and soared over to the second district. He may not have been a master of flow motion like Jack and the others. But, he knew enough to keep not only himself but his son entertained. The moment his hooves touched the roof of the hat shop; he dashed over to one of the chimneys'. He used it to launch himself into the air and towards the other roof. Allowing him to jump and run up the bell tower. The moment he reached the top; the flow magic stopped and he set Sparky down on the edge. Sparky looked up in awe at the wonderful light of the meteor shower. It looked like all of the stars in the sky were falling to the planet below. Sparky gazed up in complete awe. While his father sat by his side. As the two watched the magnificent display; Hitch noticed someone was putting up a flier. He was curious and whistled down at the person. They jumped and looked around until spotting them. They waved at the two and he waved back. The person then grabbed another fly and formed it into a paper airplane. He didn't know how they did it. But, somehow they threw it and it glided all the way up to them. Hitch was able to catch it and he unfolded it. Before he could even thank the person they were gone. The flier was a notice for Traverse Towns' festival of arts. A two-week-long event took place in all three districts. Hitch smiled not only did he time his days off right. He timed them at the best possible time. After all, he had two whole days off. Two whole days for him and his son to enjoy Traverse Town. Author's Note Something i wrote to kill some time and take a break from the MLP Tales stories i'm writing. hope yall enjoy the fun little crossover. I'm only calling it a crossover because I'm using Traverse Town and metioning some characters and locations used in both the Video game Kingdom Hearts and the story Alice in wonderland AKA looking glass and whatever else it's called lol
