Scorpan becomes friends with the princesses and turns Tirek in after unsuccessfully trying to get him to give up on their plan. Tirek is imprisoned in Tartarus. (year 89) Rockhoof saves his village from a volcano and joins the Mighty Helm. (year 90) Flash Magnus uses the Nintitus shield to fend off dragons and save his fellow soldiers. Somnambula saves Prince Hisan and her home village from an evil Sphinx. (year 91) Mage Meadowbrook cures an outbreak of Swamp Fever in her village, finds her passion for healing, and becomes a traveling healer. Flash Magnus and the Royal Legion save a village of griffons from the Dread Storm, despite the high Griffon/Pony tensions of the time. (year 94) Three sirens invade Equestria, causing and feeding off disharmony. Stygian brings together the Pillars (Starswirl, Mistmane, Rockhoof, Mage Meadowbrook, Flash Magnus, Somnambula) to defeat the Sirens, and they banish them to the human world. (year 101) Stygian turns into the Pony of Shadows when he gets jealous of the Pillars. The Pillars imprison him and themselves in limbo. Before trapping themselves, they plant a seed infused with their magic that eventually grows into the tree of harmony. (Starswirl is 129 at the time! His life is longer than average due to his power.) (year 112) Discord comes to Equestria and wreaks chaos. He plants plunderseeds to drain the Tree of Harmony’s magic, but the Tree is powerful enough to keep the seeds at bay. Luna and Celestia find the Elements of Harmony and use them to turn Discord into stone and reverse his chaos. (year 117) A young blind filly named Snowdrop creates a snowflake and presents it to the princesses. They love it and ask her to make more. (year 120) King Sombra kills Princess Amore and takes over the Crystal Empire, enslaving most of the Crystal Ponies and killing all the remaining alicorns, seeing them as too much of a threat. Luna and Celestia turn Sombra to shadow and trap him in the arctic ice. This is when Equestria solidifies itself as a superpower to the rest of the world. (year 1025) Granny Smith is born. (year 1034) Ponyville is founded, and a young Granny Smith discovers Zap Apples. (year 1064) The Pear family moves to Ponyville, starts their pear farm, and develops a feud with the Apples. (year 1075) Bright Mac and Pear Butter are born. (year 1083) Chiffon Swirl gets her cutie mark with the help of Pear Butter. (year 1091) Buttercup and Bright Mac are married. The rest of the Pears move to Vanhoover. (year 1099) Cadance is born a pegasus in Canterlot and found and raised by Earth ponies in the woods. (year 1103) Prince Rutherford closes off the Yakyakistan borders for an indefinite amount of time. (year 1103) Sunset Shimmer is born. (year 1105) Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst are born. (year 1108) Fluttershy is born. (year 1109) Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie are born. (year 1110) Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle are born. (year 1113) As a teen, Cadance reverses a love stealing potion and gets her cutie mark. Celestia finds her and, upon seeing her abilities, adopts her as her niece and turns her into an alicorn princess. (year 1118) Sunset Shimmer becomes Celestia’s personal student. (year 1119) Rainbow Dash befriends Gilda at flight camp. (year 1121) Sunset Shimmer rebels against Celestia and runs away to the human world. (year 1121) Bright Mac and Buttercup have Apple Bloom and die shortly after. (year 1122) Applejack moves in with her Aunt and Uncle Orange in Manehattan. Rainbow Dash performs her first sonic rainboom at flight camp, earning her cutie mark and setting in motion a chain of events leading to all the Mane 6 getting their cutie marks. Fluttershy is knocked to the ground at the start of Rainbow’s race and calms the animals when they get scared of the sonic rainboom, causing her cutie mark to appear. A homesick Applejack sees the sonic rainboom pointing towards Ponyville and races home to her family, earning her cutie mark. Rarity’s horn drags her to a rock, which the sonic rainboom cracks open, revealing it to be full of jewels. Rarity uses the jewels to make the school play costumes, and gets her cutie mark. Pinkie Pie, bored of life on the rock farm, is overwhelmed with happiness at the sight of the sonic rainboom. She throws her first party for her family, and gains her cutie mark. The sonic rainboom causes Twilight’s horn to overload during her entrance exam for Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. Twilight hatches Spike, gets her cutie mark, and Celestia takes her on as her personal student. (year 1123) Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are born. Cadance starts foalsitting Twilight and meets Shining Armor as a result. Zecora leaves her homeland of Farasi (near the Peaks of Peril) and settles in the Everfree Forest. (year 1124) Twilight befriends Minuette, Lyra, Lemon Hearts, Moon Dancer, and Twinkleshine at magic school. Applejack goes to Camp Friendship and meets Rara. Pinkie Pie moves to Ponyville and the Cakes take her on as their apprentice. (year 1125) Fizzlepop loses her horn and travels Equestria on her own. She then joins the Storm King and helps with his attack on the hippogriffs, driving them into hiding under water. Celestia sends the Mane 6 and Spike tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala. Trixie comes to Ponyville, and Twilight defeats an Ursa Minor, humiliating her. The Mane 6 befriends Zecora. Applejack and Rainbow Dash compete in the Running of the Leaves. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo form the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Rainbow Dash performs her second sonic rainboom and wins the Best Young Flier competition. Rarity makes dresses for the Mane 6 to wear at the Grand Galloping Gala. (year 1130) Twilight helps with Winter Wrap up. Twilight adopts Owlowiscious. The Mane 6 attend the Grand Galloping Gala. (season 2) Discord is freed from stone and unleashes chaos on Equestria. He tries to defeat the Mane 6 by destroying their personalities, but they overcome him and use the Elements to turn Discord back to stone. Luna participates in Nightmare Night. Flim and Flam visit Ponyville and attempt to steal Sweet Apple Acres from the Apple family, but they lose the competition they set. Cranky Doodle Donkey moves to Ponyville, and Pinkie reunites him with Matilda. Rainbow Dash adopts a tortoise and names him Tank. Spike has his first birthday since moving to Ponyville. The Mane 6 star in the Hearth’s Warming Play in Canterlot. Pound and Pumpkin Cake are born. (year 1131) Cerberus briefly strays from Tartarus, and Tirek escapes before Cerberus is returned. Queen Chrysalis infiltrates Canterlot as Princess Cadance, just after Shining Armor proposes to her. Twilight rescues the real Cadance from captivity in the caves under Canterlot. Cadance and Shining Armor defeat the changelings and have their real wedding. (season 3) The Crystal Empire returns, and King Sombra with it. The Mane 6 go to help Cadance and Shining Armor protect the Empire. Twilight finds the Crystal Heart, but Sombra traps her, so Spike brings the Heart to Cadance, saving the Empire. The Crystal Heart destroys King Sombra and releases the Crystal Ponies from his control. Trixie returns to Ponyville and takes over, but Twilight stops her, and she gets redeemed. Rainbow Dash unofficially adopts Scootaloo as her little sister. Rainbow Dash enrolls in the Wonderbolt Academy. Celestia releases Discord from stone, and Fluttershy becomes friends with him, reforming him. The Crystal Empire is selected as the location of the next Equestria Games. (year 1132) Twilight completes a spell that Starswirl could never finish, creating new magic and becoming an alicorn princess. (season 4) The plunderseed vines finally grow, invading Equestria, capturing Celestia and Luna, and slowly killing the Tree of Harmony. The Mane 6 return the Elements to the Tree, replenishing the Tree’s magic and driving the vines back , revealing a chest with six keyholes. The Mane 6 start keeping a friendship journal. The CMCs are chosen to carry Ponyville’s flag at the Equestria Games. Rarity gets her key for the chest from Coco Pommel. Rainbow gets her key for the chest by choosing Ponyville over the Wonderbolts at Rainbow Falls. Pinkie Pie earns her key by choosing Rainbow Dash over her pride. She also meets Cheese Sandwich. Fluttershy gets her key by helping the breezies. Maud leaves for her rocktorate dissertation. Maud finds Starlight in the process of constructing her village where everyone is “equal” without cutie marks. Applejack gets her key when Flim and Flam come back, and she busts them for their lies. Rainbow Dash passes her Wonderbolts reserves exam. (year 1133) The Equestria Games takes place in the Crystal Empire. Tirek starts draining ponies of their magic and recruits Discord to join him. Tirek destroys the Golden Oak Library, and Twilight gets her key from Discord. The Mane 6 open the chest and defeat Tirek, imprisoning him in Tartarus once more. The Castle of Friendship grows from the unlocked chest. (season 5) The Cutie Map appears in the castle, and the Mane 6 follow it to Starlight Glimmer’s village, where nopony has cutie marks. Starlight steals the Mane 6’s cutie marks, but, with the help of the villagers, they get their and everyone else’s cutie marks back. But Starlight escapes. Tank goes into hibernation. The Grand Galloping Gala is held, and Discord attends with the Smooze. The Cutie Map calls Pinkie and Rainbow Dash to Griffonstone. Matilda and Cranky Doodle are married. Bon Bon tells Lyra her secret identity as Agent Sweetie Drops. The Grand Equestrian Pony Summit is held in Canterlot. Equestria officially allies with Yakyakistan. Rarity opens a boutique in Canterlot. Wind Rider is discharged from the Wonderbolts. The Cutie Map calls Applejack and Rarity to Manehattan. Fluttershy participates in Nightmare Night. The Pies and the Apples spend Hearth’s Warming together. (year 1134) The Cutie Mark Crusaders get their cutie marks. Shining Armor and Cadance announce they’re having a baby. The Cutie Map calls Twilight and Fluttershy to the Smokey Mountains. The Helping Hooves Music Festivalis held in Ponyville, headlining Countess Coloratura. Applejack helps Rara get rid of her controlling manager, Svengallop. Starlight travels back in time to prevent Rainbow Dash’s sonic rainboom, causing several alternate timelines. Twilight and Spike stop and redeem her, and Starlight becomes Twilight’s pupil. (season 6) Cadance gives birth to Flurry Heart, the first naturally born alicorn in over a thousand years. Starlight and Sunburst reunite. Flurry Heart accidentally shatters the Crystal Heart, but Sunburst helps restore it at Flurry Heart’s Crystalling. The CMCs help Tender Taps get his cutie mark. Ember wins the Gauntlet of Fire, becoming the new Dragon Lord. Starlight and Trixie become friends. Rainbow Dash becomes a full time Wonderbolt when Fire Streak retires. Rarity opens “Rarity For You” in Manehattan. Zephyr Breeze graduates from mane therapy school. The Cutie Map sends Pinkie and Rarity to Canterlot. Rainbow Dash goes to a Daring Do convention, meets Quibble Pants, and helps Daring Do obtain a treasure she’s after. (year 1135) Ponyville holds the Applewood Derby. Spike befriends a changeling named Thorax. The Cutie Mark Crusaders help Gabby find her true purpose. The Cutie Map summons Applejack and Fluttershy to Las Pegasus, where they help Flim and Flam rekindle their friendship. The Cutie Map calls Twilight and Rainbow to the Wonderbolt Academy. Changelings impersonate Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Flurry Heart, Shining Armor, Spike, and the Mane 6. Trixie, Starlight, Discord, and Thorax team up and go to the Changeling Kingdom to rescue them. They defeat Chrysalis and most of the changelings go through a metamorphasis. Thorax becomes their new leader. (season 7) Starlight, Trixie, Discord, and Thorax are awarded Equestrian Pink Hearts of Courage, and Starlight graduates from being Twilight’s student. The Mane 6 go on a friendship retreat in Manehattan. Maud graduates from the Equestrian Institute of Rockology with a doctorate and moves to Ponyville adjacent. Fluttershy establishes the Sweet Feather Sanctuary. Scootaloo meets Rainbow Dash’s parents, who finally learn that their daughter is a Wonderbolt. Big Mac and Sugar Belle start dating. Grand Pear moves back to Ponyville and connects with the Apple family, meeting Big Mac, Applejack, and Apple Bloom for the first time. The Cutie Map calls Starlight to Canterlot. The Mane 6 publish their friendship journal in hopes they will inspire others with their lessons. The Cutie Map calls Spike to Ponyville. The CMCs, Rainbow, Rarity, and Applejack go on a camping trip and tell the legends of Rockhoof, Mistmane, and Flash Magnus when they get stuck in a cave. Thorax’s brother, Pharynx, finally accepts the Changeling’s new ways of life and transforms. Pinkie and Rainbow Dash convince Daring Do not to retire. Fluttershy and Twilight travel to Hayseed Swamp to find a cure for Swamp Fever and save Zecora. The CMCs start a Cutie Mark Day Camp. Twilight and her family go on a zeppelin cruise. Sunburst finds Starswirl’s last journal in a barrel he bought at an antique shop. The Mane 6, Starlight, and Sunburst release the Pillars from limbo, also releasing the Pony of Shadows. The Pillars and the Mane 6 team up to defeat the Pony of Shadows. Starlight and Twilight help free Stygian from darkness, and the Shadows are banished to limbo. (year 1136) (MLP: The Movie) Tempest leads the Storm King’s attack on Canterlot, capturing Luna, Cadance, and Celestia. The Mane 6 and Spike go south to seek help from the hippogriffs/seaponies, who refuse. Twilight is captured by Tempest. Her friends come to free her, and they and Tempest turn the Storm King to stone, and then he shatters. (season 8) Twilight opens the School of Friendship, with the Mane 6 as teachers. Rainbow, Applejack, and Rarity teach classes two days a week, due to their other jobs. Pinkie and Fluttershy teach three days a week. Twilight works full time as the headmare, giving lectures twice a week. Starlight is the guidance counselor, but she also teaches classes four days a week. Twilight recruits many guest speakers, and holds student bonding events often. The school is temporarily shut down by Chancellor Neighsay, but Twilight quickly reopens it. Maud starts dating Mudbriar. Rainbow Dash and the Golden Horseshoe Gals go to Las Pegasus. The Cutie Map calls the Cutie Mark Crusaders to Mount Aris. Gallus pulls a prank on Hearth’s Warming Eve so he doesn’t have to go back to Griffonstone, where he has no family or friends. Trixie and Starlight go on a road trip together. (year 1137) Scootaloo briefly joins the Washouts. Twilight appoints Rockhoof as Equestria’s “Keeper of Tales.” The Tree of Harmony tests the Student 6’s friendship by making them confront their biggest fears. The Cutie Map calls Applejack and Fluttershy to the Peaks of Peril to help the kiren. A dragon named Sludge comes to Ponyville and pretends to be Spike’s biological father. Cozy Glow tries to erase all magic from Equestria, but the Student 6 stop her, and she is imprisoned in Tartarus. (season 9) Grogar assembles a legion of villains (Cozy Glow, Chrysalis, Sombra, Tirek) to attempt to take down the Mane 6 once and for all. Sombra defects and takes over the Crystal Empire and destroys the Tree of Harmony and the Elements. The Mane 6 defeat Sombra, but the rest of the legion is still out there. The Student 6 come back from summer break to find the Tree of Harmony destroyed, and they turn the remains into a clubhouse. Twilight and Shining Armor compete for Sibling Supreme status, but Spike ends up winning. The Amity Ball is held at the School of Friendship. Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis retrieve Grogar’s bewitching bell from Mount Everhoof and hide it from Grogar in a plan to overthrow him. The Confluence occurs at Sweet Apple Acres. Apple Bloom tries to catch the Great Seedling. (Best Gift Ever) The Mane 6, Spike, Discord, Cadance, Shining Armor, and Flurry Heart spend Hearth’s Warming together in Twilight’s castle, and Pinkie meets the Gift Givers of the Grove. Rarity meets a young teen named Pistachio who loves fashion. The Student 6 travel home for the holidays, and Gallus goes to Mount Aris with Silverstream. (year 1138) Scootaloo’s aunts, Holiday and Lofty, move to Ponyville, and Scootaloo moves in with them. Celestia and Luna take a vacation together to do some sisterly bonding. Twilight establishes a buckball team and a cheer squad at the School of Friendship. The last Summer Sun Celebration is held, and Twilight creates the Festival of the Two Sisters to replace it. Cozy, Tirek, and Chrysalis sneak into Canterlot and steal a book about the bewitching bell. Starlight takes over as headmare of the School of Friendship after summer break. Sunburst becomes the vice headmaster, and Trixie becomes the new guidance counselor. Sunburst and Trixie both start teaching a few classes as well. Twilight cuts her School of Friendship work down to lectures once a week. Moon Dancer and Tempest are hired as full time teachers at the school. Applejack, Rainbow, and Rarity all cut their teaching down to one day a week each. Daring Do and Caballeron write the next Daring Do book together. Lyra and Bon Bon get engaged. Big Mac and Sugar Belle get engaged and are married a couple months later. (year 1139) Chrysalis, Cozy Glow, and Tirek finally strike. Grogar is revealed to be Discord in disguise, and they drain him of his chaos magic with the bewitching bell. The Mane 6, Pillars, and Student 6 defeat the 3 villains with the magic of friendship. Discord, Celestia, and Luna turn Chrysalis, Cozy, and Tirek to stone. Starlight and Spike collect memories from Twilight’s friends to put together in a magic scrapbook. Lyra and Bon Bon get married. Twilight is crowned ruler of Equestria, and Celestia and Luna retire, though Luna still dreamwalks (and continues to for the rest of her life), and Celestia still teaches at the School of Magic. The Mane 6 establishes the Council of Friendship. (year 1142) Granny Smith dies of old age. Rainbow Dash stops teaching at the School of Friendship, but still pops in as a guest sometimes. (year 1144) Twilight cuts her lectures at the School of Friendship down to twice a month. Rarity opens her fourth boutique, in Whinnyapolis, and stops teaching at the School of Friendship. She still pops in as a guest when she can, though. Chipper, an earth pony from Starlight’s old village, becomes a teacher at the School of Friendship. (year 1147) Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich get married. Diamond Tiara and Stygian are hired as teachers at the School of Friendship. Rarity opens a boutique in Yakyakistan. Rainbow Dash becomes captain of the Wonderbolts. Minuette is hired as a teacher at the School of Friendship. (year 1152) The CMCs become teachers at the School of Friendship. Yona and Sandbar take over Carousel Boutique. Smolder becomes a teacher at the School of Friendship. Big Mac and Sugar Belle’s son is born. (year 1201) Rainbow Dash dies of old age. (year 1207) Starlight dies in a magical accident. (year 1212) Pinkie Pie dies (of old age? mysterious causes? she just decided to? we’ll never know, it’s Pinkie). (year 1218) Applejack dies of old age. (year 1288) Celestia and Luna both die in a ritual created to let them become part of the sun and moon, meaning the sun and moon rise and set on their own with no need for magical assistance. (year 1331) The Umbrum attack the Crystal Empire, and war is declared on both sides. (year 1333) Cadance dies in a battle with the Umbrum, and Flurry Heart takes over the Crystal Empire. (year 1334) The Crystal Empire finally wins the war with the Umbrum, after recruiting Equestrian assistance. The Umbrum are driven back into their caves in the frozen north. (year 1352) Flurry Heart’s daughter Aurora is born. Aurora is also a natural born alicorn. (year 1360) Flurry Heart’s son Orpheus is born, a unicorn. (He’s not the crown prince, but they might have turned him into an alicorn anyway, but he refused. He didn’t want the longer lifespan.) (year 1448) Twilight retires, and Flurry Heart becomes the new ruler of Equestria. She officially makes the Crystal Empire a part of Equestria. (year 1487) Orpheus dies of old age. They are powerful and born of an alicorn, so he lives longer than normal, but his lifespan is still much closer to the average pony’s than an alicorn’s. (year 1533) Twilight dies of old age. (year 1555) Flurry Heart retires, and Aurora takes her place. (year 1707) Scarlett Sunrise, a pegasus from the Luna Bay Area, is born. (year 1725) Aurora takes Scarlett on as her student and to train her as the next ruler. (year 1737) Scarlett is turned into an alicorn by Aurora, and starts learning to use alicorn magic. (year 1750) Aurora retires and Scarlett Sunrise takes over as the next ruler. (year 1884) Scarlett’s son, Periwinkle, a natural alicorn, is born. (year 1889) Scarlett’s daughter, Mayleigh (an alicorn), is born. (year 1892) Scarlett’s daughter, Calliope (a pegasus), is born. //-------------------------------------------------------// Decline into the Dark Ages //-------------------------------------------------------// Decline into the Dark Ages Equestria's Decline: (year 1908) Tensions with Griffonstone have been rising again for decades, and they come to a head when the griffons invade Rainbow Falls and move towards Trottingham and then to Fillydelphia. A war with Griffonstone has officially started. (year 1911) Scarlett dies in a battle with the griffons, and Periwinkle takes over. Peri is young and inexperienced, and Equestria quickly surrenders, leaving the griffons Trottingham and Rainbow Falls and the mountains surrounding it. Equestria and Griffonstone don’t really officially consort with each other after that. (year 2001) Calliope dies of old age. (Just like Orpheus, she lives longer than normal, especially for a pegasus, and she turned down the opportunity to become an alicorn. She didn't want to deal with learning unicorn & earth pony magic later in life. She’d rather just enjoy what she already has.) (year 2019) Peri adopts their one year old niece, Stella (a unicorn) when Mayleigh and her husband die in a fire, and he raises her as his own daughter. (year 2046) Periwinkle dies in a tragic train crash, which kills 9 ponies, including the conductor, and injures 17, and Stella takes over. However, it makes a lot of ponies uneasy. (Peri planned to turn Stella into an alicorn after she’d been trained for a while, and she was sure she was ready and wanted it, but they died before they could, and now there are no more alicorns.) Stella is a pretty good ruler, despite being rather young, but Equestria has never had a non-alicorn as a ruler, and especially the earth ponies and pegasi are unhappy. (year 2112) Stella retires and dies a few months later, she appoints one of her advisors, Dust Storm (who’s an earth pony, age 42), as the next ruler. Ponies are a bit more comfortable now with the situation, but the unicorns are now experiencing some stress and uncertainty. (year 2137) Dust Storm dies of cancer at a time of turmoil with the yaks, and he appoints his military advisor, Thunderclap (pegasus, age 33), as the next ruler. War with the yaks occurs under Thunderclap’s rule. The war ends in a stalemate eventually, but the ponies are more divided than ever, especially when two more pegasi rulers follow after Thunderclap, his sister Lightning Strike and then her daughter, Gentle Rain. Not much happens under their rules, but ponies are mad that the Pegasi seem to have taken over the monarchy. (year 2244) After Gentle Rain, her son, Castor (an earth pony, age 32), becomes the new ruler, which cools the earth ponies’ anger a bit, but the unicorns are even worse. (year 2294) After Castor, his niece, Dara Dawn (unicorn, age 49), takes over, and then her daughter, Nymphadora (unicorn, age 43) takes over after her. (year 2377) After Nymphadora, her nephew Florian (unicorn, age 31) becomes the next ruler. Three unicorns in a row, making the other ponies, whose anger had been cooling, riled up again. The unicorns in turn get angry back at them for “being distrustful.” The tension between tribes is the highest it's been since pre-Equestrian days, and the wendigos are peaking their heads in a bit. Dark Ages: (year 2393) Florian is suddenly assassinated (sparks the Dark Ages), by an unknown pony (the mystery is still unsolved), before he names an heir. The ponies riot without a ruler. What’s left of the government frantically tries to introduce candidates for leadership, but it’s too late. The wendigos have resurfaced. The ponies are already living in mostly segregated cities and towns, and now they’re fighting with each other all the time - about food, weather, lighting & heating spells, etc. (year 2397) Discord steps in and decimates the wendigos and tells the ponies to get their shit together, and then he disappears back to his realm. He’s very upset that the ponies are stomping all over Fluttershy’s legacy. (year 2408) The ponies’ fighting goes on until finally, without the wendigos, the spirit of the Tree of Harmony uses the rest of its remaining magic and the leftover wendigo residue to store all pony magic in three crystals, one given to each tribe. They only work if they’re all brought together, but each tribe is too proud and angry to meet and try it. Ponies don’t really record everything for a while, as they get used to living without magic (weather running wild, planting & growing crops without magic, none of the spells that kept houses warm & lit, the trains going, etc.) Everyone (almost) pretty much forgets about the crystals holding their magic. (year 2501) Spike dies of old age. (year 2712) The three tribes have each mostly settled in their own places and stop communication with each other. There’s no more trains or any large transport system, so it’s not too hard. The main three cities are Maretime Bay (earth ponies), Zephyr Heights (pegasi), and Bridlewood (unicorns), but there are smaller settlements of each tribe scattered around the remnants of Equestria. Some of them are integrated, but only barely. Eventually these become pretty much totally segregated as well. There are some historians who try to recover and remember the past, but most want it left forgotten. //-------------------------------------------------------// Return of Magic //-------------------------------------------------------// Return of Magic Return of Magic: (year 3107) A pegasus (Ice Winds, age 24) and an earth pony (Maira, age 23), who are each from small northern towns around Ponehenge (or where it used to be) meet while exploring, and fall in love. The ponies from their towns aren’t supposed to interact, really, but they were young and adventurous. (year 3108) Maira and Ice Winds go off to live together in the middle of the woods (a bit north of Bridlewood). (year 3111) Snow Drift (a pegasus), the daughter of Ice and Maira, is born. (year 3112) Argyle Starshine is born in the small earth pony town that Maira left. Argyle does a lot of exploring as a young adult, his love of history and ancient culture supported by his parents, though they don’t quite understand it. He slowly starts to gather how ponies lived in the past, the three tribes in harmony, and becomes very focused on this in his studies. (year 3137) Argyle meets Snow Drift on one of his explorations. She also loves to explore, and they fall in love, and go on many more adventures together. They are the ones to find one of the three crystals (the earth pony crystal) on one of their adventures. It was in a cave with a bunch of other treasure, which looked to be an abandoned dragon’s hoard. They are very excited and go on many quests trying to find the other two. (year 3142) Sunny Starscout (earth pony) is born to Argyle and Snow Drift, and they settle in the mountains for a little while until Sunny is about two, and then they start to take her with them on small explorations. (year 3145) Snow Drift dies on one of their adventures, and Argyle, devastated, moves himself and Sunny to Maretime Bay, where he continues his studies, but doesn’t go on adventures anymore. (year 3158) Argyle ventures out into the woods near Maretime Bay for the first time since he moved there, looking for a lead he found about the unicorn crystal. But he’s caught off guard and gets killed by timberwolves. (The northern woods he’s used to don’t have timberwolves.) (year 3164) When Sunny is 22, a unicorn (Izzy) comes to town, and the G5 movie ensues Author's Note Well, if you made it this far, thank you. I don't really know if this is going to interest anyone, but I've been working on it for months, so I thought I'd put it out there. I'm also working on some little stories taking place during the lost years that will be out at some point. //-------------------------------------------------------// Pre-Equestria //-------------------------------------------------------// Pre-Equestria Pre-Equestria: (year -1196) Grogar declares himself ruler over a collection of farms and creates various monsters to terrorize them. (year -1039) Gusty the Great defeats Grogar and hides his bell at the top of Mount Everhoof. Grogar is left very weak, and he slowly rebuilds his strength over millennia. (year -922) Abraxius the Bold conquers most of what would later be northern Equestria. (year -901) Abraxius the Bold is assassinated by an unknown pony, and his empire falls apart. (year -842) The Crystal Heart manifests in the frozen north, and civilization forms in the protection it provides, made up of mostly Earth ponies and some alicorns (Princess Amore is a descendant of these alicorns). Those ponies eventually evolve into a slightly separate race of Crystal ponies due to prolonged exposure to the Crystal Heart. (year -643) The first of the Alicorn-Draconequus Wars begins, throwing what would later be northern Equestria into chaos. Some alicorns choose to leave and seek refuge, either in the Crystal Empire or further south into Unicorn and Earth pony territory. (year -124) The Alicorn race is almost entirely wiped out in the wars between the alicorns and draconequus. Celestia and Luna, hidden away with a few other alicorn children, are among the only survivors. The responsibility of raising the sun and moon is then taken up by the unicorns, though the strain exhausts them. Celestia, Luna, and the other alicorn children are raised by the two older alicorn teens in their group. The group eventually part ways, Celestia and Luna going south, and the other three alicorns going north to the Crystal Empire. (year -112) An unknown, extremely contagious, illness sweeps through the draconequus, leaving a young Discord as the only survivor. He was sent away by his parents and older sister before the illness took hold of him. (The illness is suspected to have been as a result of a curse from a remaining alicorn, but nothing has ever proven that.) (year -9) Clover the Clever, Starswirl’s apprentice, completes seven trials, in one of which he defeats an evil sorceress with a memory erasing artifact. (year 0) Earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns have been living together in hostility, and windigos come to terrorize them. The tribe leaders (Chancellor Puddinghead, Commander Hurricane, Princess Platinum) try to move, but the windigos follow them and freeze the leaders. Their cohorts (Smart Cookie, Private Pansy, Clover the Clever) become friends and drive back the windigos, thawing the ice. The three tribes make peace and form Equestria.
