Chapter 1: The Beginning (complete)

Hello. My name is Zack Catcher. I’m a Changeling, but there is no need to be frightened. We're not the same as we used to be, and I am not the same as other Changelings.

Many things happened the day the hive was reformed. This story will tell you what happened to me during this time. The month after I was born, some sort of shockwave blasted me away from my hive. I don’t remember what exactly happened, but it was said that the queen’s throne blew up and that the shock wave carried me.

I wouldn’t say I was unlucky, because that day changed my life forever. The shockwave sent me flying straight into the Crystal Empire, and I landed inside the royal garden where a rose bush broke my fall. When I came to my senses, I got scared because I didn’t know where I was or how I got here, so I began to cry. At least I think I did that day. Is not that clear in my head, anyway? After a while, I heard some pony trotting in coming toward me.

As the sound came closer, I quickly got up and ran as fast as I could. I ran down the hallways and through corridors, trying to find somewhere safe to hide. Eventually, I saw a door that was left slightly open, so I ran inside without a second thought. Once I got inside, I closed the door, locked it and took a sigh of relief. Suddenly, I heard a sound coming from behind me. I noticed a crib in which I saw a baby girl lying on her back, looking at me with a smile. She has light pink fur, and purple hair with cyan highlights, and her eyes are bright blue.

She crawled over to the side of her crib looking at me, giggling and giving a warm smile. I gave a small smile back to her before I tried to climb into the crib, but ended up falling over and landing on my back instead, causing her to laugh. I smiled before laughing as well. Suddenly, a loud thud came from the door, causing me to get scared and run under the crib.

I curled up as much as possible and hid under the crib, shaking in fear. I managed to look under the crib to see two ponies walk into the room. They walked toward the crib, but they didn’t see me. After a few minutes, they left the room, closing the door behind them.

Sighing, I crawled out from under the crib, then I looked into her crib to see if she was still there, and there she was, sleeping. From that day forward, I knew I wanted to be with her, protect her, and keep her company.

After a while, I got to learn that her name is Flurry Heart, from overhearing her parents. I also learned that their names are Cadence and Shining Armour. I knew I shouldn’t have stayed there, but I couldn’t help it. No matter what, I wanted to be with her.

A few years passed, and I was still with her. I and I haven't left the room. Every time I get close to the door, I get a rush of fear that causes me to hide and try to calm myself down. Every time I do, Flurry rushes over to me and hugs me, calming me down instantly.

Eventually, I stopped trying to leave the room. I didn't really see a point. Being with Flurry made me happy. I enjoyed being with her and she seemed to enjoy me being with her.

After a few years, when Flurry could speak, she said to me,

"Hey, I don’t think I ever got your name. Do you mind telling me what it is”

I opened my mouth to tell her what my name was, but I froze, realizing that I didn't know my name. I knew nothing before I came to the empire. I don't remember how I got here. I didn’t even remember where I was born. The only thing that I know is that I was born in some place called the hive.

I looked at Flurry Heart and said, “I don’t remember what my name is.”

She said, “What do you mean?"

I replied, “I don’t know my name or who my parents are, nor am I completely sure of where I was born. The last thing I remember is waking up in the royal garden.”

Flurry looked at me feeling a bit concerned before she replied saying, “Maybe you’ll figure it out eventually, but until then let’s just think of a name for you”.
I looked at her and gave a smile as I nodded. After that, we thought of different names.

We started pitching names such as Flutterfree, Snowflake, Cherry Blossom, Starlight, Frosty, Fairy, Snowflake, Frosty, Cinder, Fledglow, Starlit, Icefire, Fledgling, Cherry Blossom, Snowwhite, Snowflower, Fling. Then Flurry jumped to her hooves and said, “I got it! What about Zack Catcher?”
I replied, saying, “I love it, thank you Flurry” I gave her a big hug, and she smiled as she hugged me back saying, "You're welcome, Zack Catcher”.

After we stopped hugging, we said good night to each other and headed to bed. During the night, Flurry woke me up by saying,

"Hey, Zack, are you awake?“ Looking a bit shaken up, I slowly opened my eyes and said,

"Ya, is everything ok, Flurry?”
She replied, saying “I had a nightmare”

I sat up looking at Flurry so we could talk before saying, "Do you want to talk about it?”

She nodded her head and explained her dream.
She said, “So basically the nightmare was about you, at least I think so. The pony in the nightmare looked like you but had red glowing cracks on the left side of his face down to his front left leg. He tried to attack me multiple times, but every time he got close to me he would stop like something was actively stopping him from hurting me. But after some time he got closer and closer until he got me and I woke up

I felt bad for her, so I pulled her into a hug and asked if she was ok.

After calming down, she said “Ya I’m ok but is it ok if I sleep next to you for the rest of the night, in case I get another nightmare”, I agreed as I jumped in Flurry’s bed and laid down next to her, Flurry snuggled up close beside me, I smiled before we both fell to sleep

Chapter 2: The Snow Play (complete)

The following day I awoke to see a Flurry looking out the window, staring at something that I couldn't quite see. All I saw was I was snow.

I walked toward Flurry saying “Hay Flurry, is everything ok”

Flurry turned to look at me before nodding her head saying, “Ya everything is fine”

I tilted my head, confused, as I replied, “Then why are you looking out the window”

She replied, “Because it snowed last night. I like the snow it is white and fluffy. Hay zack do you want to play outside today?”

“Why? I thought you liked it inside?” Flurry giggled and said,

"True, but I also like to go outside some time’s, it feels good being outside plus there is a lot more room for us to play,”

I looked at Flurry as I replied. “I would like to go outside and play with you but I have never been outside plus i don’t want any pony to see me.”

Flurry replied, saying,

“Don’t worry, I know the perfect place to play at plus I have seen none other ponies go there, so you don’t need to worry about somepony seeing you," I replied.

I rolled my eyes as I said, “ok.. Ok I will go play outside with you as long as you promise no pony will see me”.”

Flurry smiled as she teleported us both outside. After she teleported us outside, she jumped into a pile of snow, and popped her head out of the top, laughing.

I looked at her, confused, and said to Flurry, “Why are you laughing?”

she replies, saying "It‘s just fun to play in the snow and it is also fun just to do random stuff”

I looked at Flurry before jumping in the snow pile with her, popping my head out of the top of the snow pile as well. I looked at Flurry before saying and said,

“huh I guess it is fun to do random stuff,” and we both started laughing.

Then we both jumped out of the snow pile and began playing with each other.

We both got out of the pile of snow and chased each other, still laughing. Suddenly Flurry stopped and threw a snowball, which hit me, and when it did I stopped before I turned my head to look at her. as I quickly turned around and chased her with 3 snowballs. After a few minutes, we bumped into each other, causing us to roll into a trench. When we both opened our eyes, I realized I was standing over top of her causing my eyes to widen as I stared at her blushing profusely before quickly getting off of her.

She said,

“You OK Zack?” I nodded my head and said,

“yup I’m fine I just got excited, I didn’t realize I had landed on top of you”, she smiled and said, “That’s alright I don’t mind”.

We spent the rest of the afternoon playing in the snow with Flurry. We played games such as tag, hide and seek, chase the windmills, catch the icicle, hide and seek, and tag again. I also made snow angels and snowmen with her.

I knew I wanted to stay with her and make her happy as soon as I met her. I loved the way she laughed and talked.

Whenever she did something silly, I laughed and she would too. She made me feel alive. We continued to play, then it got dark. We sat down next to each other and looked up at the stairs.

Then I got a bit tired, so I got up and stretched my legs and sat back beside her before I turned to her and said,

“Flurry”

she replied, “Yes Zack?”

And I said, "Do you like me?”.

I could hear how nervous she was and could tell how much it meant to her.

She said,

“umm well, it depends on what you mean by that”

I replied, “I mean, do you think I am a good friend?"

She looked at me and replied,

“Of course I do! Why?”

I replied, “Because you are loving, kind and my best friend all good things I hope to be. You also don’t seem to hate me even tho I’m a changeling.”

She laughed and replied,

"Zack, I've never hated anypony or anything in my life, especially not you. You are probably the only one I’ve ever been friends with."

I replied “Really” and then

She added “Yeah! To me, you're not just a changeling. You’re my friend,” I smiled

Flurry spoke again, saying,

“I think it is time for us to go back inside”

I nodded my head and Flurry teleported us back inside before she walked downstairs for supper. I went to sleep back under the bed and I closed my eyes.

A few minutes pass by and I slowly open my eyes when I hear Flurry say,

“Hay Zack, you know you can sleep on the bed with me. I don’t mind”

I smiled and crawled out from under the bed

And hopped onto the bed and said,

“Thanks”

she nodded her head, and we both drifted off to sleep

this is not my favourite chapter but I really didn’t know what to put here trust me the story is going to get a lot better

Chapter 3: A Dinner for Two+One (complete)

The next few days, I noticed I was developing feelings for Furry and I wanted to spend more time with her. One day, before Flurry headed downstairs for supper, she stopped and looked at me, as she said,

"Hey Zack, I know Changelings can transform themselves to look like a pony. I know you can because when you changed your form to look like me, but I was wondering, can you make yourself look like something else?”

I looked at Flurry and said,

“what do you mean?” she replied saying

“I mean, can you change into a small creature like a lizard or something?”

I looked at Flurry, saying, “I never actually tried to, but why do you want to see if I can?”

She replied, “Because if you are a small creature like a lizard, then you can come with me by hiding in my hair."

It took a little bit of time to think. I had never been outside of the room before and I was worried that I would get caught. But when I looked up I saw Flurry's face I agreed, Flurry's face lit up with a big smile before I closed my eyes and thought of myself as a lizard, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Flurry looking down at me with a smile on her face. I realized it worked, I looked at myself feeling impressed by what I just did

After I turned myself into a lizard, Flurry stretched her wings toward the ground and said,

“Hop on”

And as she said that, I walked up her wing into her back, into her hair on her head. Then she said,

"Get comfy. This is going to take a while."

Getting comfy was easy. Flurry’s hair was so soft and comfy so I just laid down in Flurry’s hair. Then she left the room and went to the dining room. But on her way, she got lost, and she saw a guard patrolling the hallway.

Flurry walked up to the guard and asked him if he knew where the dining room was. The guard nodded his head and told her where the dining room was. Flurry left the guard and started heading to the dining room after saying thanks to the guard.

When Flurry got to the dining room, Cadence sat waiting for her. When Flurry saw her mother, she said,

"Hi, Mom!"

She replied, “Hay Flurry, how is your day”

Flurry replied like she was not interested

“It was fine”

Cadence stood up from her seat and walked over to Flurry. and sat beside her and said in a calm voice,

“Flurry, I know it has been difficult for you after your father died, but please talk to me”

It shocked me to hear that Flurry’s father had died. I don’t remember when it was, but probably that day when Flurry came into the room crying and refusing to speak to me. I thought she just had a bad day at school, but I did not know this was why she was so upset.

I listened to what they were talking about.

Flurry answered

“It is nothing, Mom”

Cadence said,

“Flurry, I know how you feel about your father and how much he means to you. I understand that there must be a lot going on in your mind right now. Just please let it out”.

Tears began to form in Flurry's eyes as she replied, “I miss him, every day Mom.”

Cadence quickly pulled flurry into a hug as she held the back of her head and she did I continued to move around her hair to try to hide from Cadence as she said "Let it all out Flurry"

Flurry cried harder and cried for a long time and said.

“Every day I miss him and every night I miss him and I think that maybe if he was still here I could find some way to cope with it”.

“I know, sweetie, it hurts that Dad died, but I know he would want you to live the best life you can. Don’t worry about a thing, he wouldn’t want you to be sad all the time”

Flurry continues to cry as she says "I know, it, it just hurts"

Cadence replies,

“Hey, hey sweetie, it’s ok, it’s alright. Everything is going to be OK.”

As she says that she pats Flurry’s back to calm her down. I lay underneath her hair, listening to the conversation feeling a little sad for Flurry.

Flurry eventually started to calm down, as Cadence continued to hug her as she used her magic to bring over a box of tissues. Cadence began to wipe away the last traces of Flurry’s tears

Flurry looked at her mother and said,

"Thanks, Mom I really needed that”

Cadence kissed her forehead and replied,

"Anytime remember I will always be here for you."

They hugged once more, then her Cadence headed for the kitchen to make supper. Flurry followed her and sat at the table, they began to eat their food as they talked about memories of Flurry's dad. I stayed hidden until Flurry finished eating and headed upstairs to her bedroom.

Back in her bedroom, I hopped out of Flurry’s hair, transforming back into my original form. I turned to Flurry to see her cry in her bed, thinking about how her father had passed away. I walked up to her and said.

“Flurry, I’m sorry to hear about your father”

She replied “i just need to be alone right now”

I replied to her, saying,

“Flurry, please, we need to talk about it. I know you don’t want to, but it is going to help you feel better”

Flurry didn’t reply and instead, she cried, so I walked closer to her and placed a hand on her shoulder

I looked down at Flurry who had her face bared in her pillow. I sat down beside patting her back

I didn't know what to do, or how to make her feel better, but for some reason, I stayed beside her,

Eventually Flurry sat back up looking at the floor as tears continued to fall down her cheek, I felt a sharp pain in my chest as tears began to form in my eyes like I was feeling her pain, eventually, Flurry couldn't take it much more. as more tears started to stream down her face, I quickly pulled her into a hug resting my head on top of hers as she buried her face into my chest letting all of her pain out. after a few minutes, she began to calm down she looked up at me giving me a smile

" You ok," I said returning the smile, Flurry shook her head "No but I feel a bit better, thank you for staying with me" "Flurry your my best friend there is nowhere else I would rather be than with you"

We continued to hug for a few moments before we pulled apart from each other, Flurry smiled as she walked out of the room. However, before she left the room, she stopped and looked at me and said,

"Do you want to come and take a bath with me?”

"Sure" and turned back into a lizard and went into her hair. not thinking much of it. Flurry walked to the bathroom with me in her hair. When we got to the bathroom, I hopped out of her hair as Flurry closed the door and turned on the tub. After a few minutes, she shut off the running water and started walking into the tub as she motioned for me to join her.

We played inside the tub for about twenty minutes before we got out and headed to bed

Chapter 4: Love is key (rough draft)

Every day afterward, I was always happy. Flurry received a book from her school that she had to read one chapter of by the end of the week. But when Flurry came with the book, Flurry looked upset. I walked up to Flurry and said,

"Hey, is everything OK?”

Flurry looked at me, shaking her head

I looked at her and said, "Flurry, what’s wrong?”

Flurry looked at me and pulled out a book. The title of the book is “everything about red moon changelings,” she said

“I have to read a chapter by the end of the week but I can’t even read a page without struggling with a word, and worst of all the teacher made me stand up in front of the class and told me to read the first sentence” and when I did every pony laughed at me. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't read even a few words.

I replied

“I could help you read the book if you want"

Flurry looked at me with a confused look and said, "I didn't know you can read?"

I smirked and said, "I taught myself how to read by reading the books you have on your shelf. "

Flurry giggled and blushed a little and replied.

"Ok, I would like that"

For the next few minutes, we read the book together, and I was having an easier time reading the book compared to Flurry. She got through a whole paragraph without stopping or making any mistakes. As we were reading, she notice the book seemed to describe me. As she saw this; she looked at me curiously and asked me,

"so Zack, who are you exactly?".

I said,

"I'm a changeling. At least I thought I was, but if this book is right, then I'm a red moon changeling."

The book said that a red moon changing has red eyes and wings. It also says that red moon Changelings is born every One hundred read moons. which explains why I no pony have seen a red moon changeling. It is because they are rare to find. Or even an exist.

After we found that out, we continued to read the book and in doing so, learned many things about red moon changelings. One fact about them is that the book mentioned said red moon changelings do not get hungry but still need to feed because their power comes from the love that feeds off of other ponies

Flurry looked at me and said, "what does it mean by feed"

I shrugged and said, "well I believe feed just means the same thing as eating"

after I said that Cadence called Flurry stairs for lunch and Flurry said

"speaking of eating, I have to go get some lunch. See you in a bit"

And with that, Flurry ran out of the door to grab some lunch. But when she came back, she saw me curled up on the floor in pain. Flurry quickly ran over to me to see what was wrong and said,

"Zack, what’s wrong? What happened?”

I tried to reply, but I was in too much pain to speak

Flurry looked around my body to see if there were any wounds on me, but what she found shocked her. There was a small red crack in the middle of my belly. She spent a few minutes looking at the red crack before snapping herself back when she heard my scream in pain.

When Flurry heard me scream in pain, Flurry tried everything she could do to help me, but it was no use. A few minutes later, Cadence came into the room to see Flurry sitting beside me. Cadence was shocked to see me in Flurry's room, but when flurry said "mom please help him" she immediately rushed to where I was and tried to figure out what was wrong. Then she looked shocked and asked flurry

"Flurry, how long has he been here"

Flurry replied saying "he was here when I was very young"

Flurry was about to yell at Flurry for keeping some pony in her room without telling her, but she stop after I started screaming in pain. Flurry pleaded to her mom, saying,

"mom please help him"

Cadence turned her attention back to me and replied to Flurry

"we will talk about this later. But I know why he is in pain. He's starving and from the looks of things, he has been starving for a long time"

Flurry nodded and turned to get some food from the kitchen, but Cadence stopped her, saying,

"giving him solid food or any food that we eat will only make it worse. He is a changeling and changeling's can only eat love"

Flurry looked at Cadence and said, "then why don't you give him some love"

Cadence blushed at the thought, but she quickly snap herself back and said,

"that's not how it works, how changeling's he needs to feed off of some pony who deeply cares about him"

Flurry replies saying, "I care about him. He is the only friend I have ever had"

Cadence smiled at Flurry and said, "if this is true, then let Zack feed off of you and I promise you and Zack will be fine."

Flurry nodded her head and Cadence backed away, and with the last bit of strings that I had, I slowly got up and opened my mouth as the love from Flurry's body came to me and I felt better and the read crack on my belly disappear, but the same red cracks formed around my eye. After a while, I felt a lot stronger, but I saw Flurry was having a hard time standing up. I tried to stop feeding, but I couldn't. The more love I consumed, the stronger I felt.

A few minutes later, Flurry collapsed on the floor. I stopped myself and sprinted over to her and caught her before she hit the floor. Then Cadence ran over to Flurry to see if she was alright as I laid her on the floor. Cadence was re-levied to find that Flurry was just sleeping from exhaustion. After that, Cadence turned her attention turned to me.

Chapter 5: The Discovery (rough draft)

After Cadence went over to Flurry to see if she was ok, she turned her attention to me and saw me hiding under Flurry's bed. She called some guards into the room before she used her magic to knock me out.

A little while later, I woke up and saw that I was in a small room with nothing but an iron door and a small bed. I walked up to the door to see if I could open it. But the door was locked. I panicked because I thought I was stuck going to be stuck room.

I sat down on the bed and cried a bit, not knowing if I would be able to see Flurry again. The door suddenly opened, and I looked over to see a guard coming in. He stood beside the door as Cadence walked in right behind him. As she came into the room and said,

"well, this isn't quite what I expected”

Then she pointed toward me and added,

"an unreformed changeling living in my daughter's room. Now I have seen everything. Now tell me why you are here"

I said nothing and continued to cry from fear. Cadence looked at me and said,

"if you will not answer me, then I have no choice but to leave you here until you do. "

just then, Flurry walked by and when she saw me, she ran to me shouting "Zack" but the guard blocked Flurry from going toward m.

Cadence spoke to Flurry, saying,

"Now, Flurry, I think it's best if you wait outside while I'm doing something right now"

Flurry replied, saying,

"you told me that Zack left the castle, but you locked him in a dungeon instead"

Cadence responds

"Flurry, I don't think you understand. Somepony was living in your room without my knowledge. What if he hurt you?"

Flurry looked at Cadence and yelled in frustration, saying,

"he didn't hurt me and he would never hurt me," Flurry teleported beside me, looked at Cadence and continued

"he is my friend and I won't let anyone hurt him and he would do the same for me"

Flurry said that with a look of determination on her face. Cadence was stunned at hearing that out of her daughter's mouth. Cadence then said,

"fine, but you both stay right there and try not to move. I'll be back soon"

With that, Cadence left. When Cadence left the room, Flurry took a sigh of relief and said,

"Sorry about that, Zack. My mom can be a little protective when it comes to me"

I looked at Flurry and said,

"Don't worry, Flurry, I understand. I mean, who wouldn't be protective of you"

when I said that, Flurry started blushing, and she tried to hide the fact that she was blushing

I smiled as I looked at Flurry and said,

"Flurry, there is no need to hide your face. You look pretty cute when you blush"

Flurry blushes more and starts laughing awkwardly as she tries to come up with a response.

Once she gets a hold of herself, she turns to me and says,

"You are so cheesy! How do you expect me to respond to that?"

I laugh and say,

"I don't know, "

We both start laughing. That was when Cadence walked into the room and said,

"I see that I'm interrupting a fun time."

We both stopped laughing when she said that, then she continued

"Zack, you have my permission to continue living in this place, but you must keep to yourself. You cannot let anyone see you or speak to you other than Flurry and me. Do you understand?"

I nod my head and said,

"yes, ma'am".

Cadence continues speaking "now let's discuss where your room is"

Flurry spoke up and said, "why not he just continue to stay in my room"

cadence replies

"because I don't feel comfortable with him in your room"

Flurry then replied,

"but I don't mind. He is my friend, plus he feels safe when he is with me."

Cadence looked frustrated with the situation she was in, and after a while of Flurry pleading with her mother to let me stay in her room, Cadence, finally, let up and said,

"fine, he can sleep in your room but he will not be allowed to be seen by anyone outside your room, got it"

Flurry nodded her head in agreement and Cadence walked out of the room with the guards following behind her. Once they left, I snickered. Flurry looked at me and said,

"What are you laughing at?"

I replied

"your mom forgot I can change my form and I can change what I look like whenever I want"

When Flurry realized I could change my form, she giggled along with me. Then when she calmed herself down, she gave me a hug, saying.

"Zack, can you promise me something? "

I replied, saying,

"Anything"

she said,

"Promise me that no secrets will ever come between us and that w

I hugged her back and said,

"I promise Flurry, but may I ask why"

Flurry replied

"Because I was upset when my mom told me you left, and I thought that my only friend had abandoned me, but I was so glad to find out that wasn't the case. I just want to make sure that you are always safe. Because I feel safe when I'm with you and I hope we stay together."

After Flurry said that, I was shocked. I didn't realize that I meant that much to her. I replied,

"I didn't realize that I meant that much to you Flurry"

Flurry replied, saying,

"I don't think you realize how much you really mean to me"

I smiled and pulled flurry into a hug, saying, "it makes me happy to know that you feel that way about me"

Flurry smiled as she hugged me back

after a few minutes, Flurry let me go saying "it's getting let, let's head to bed" I nodded my head as we made our way back to Flurry's room

And We said good night to each other. I couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen next.

When we both arrived, the room fell silent as every pony bowed toward Flurry, Flurry had embarrassment seeping from her body and her expression.

But at once, Flurry composed herself and announced,

"Thank you all for coming. It is a treat to see so many smiling faces.” She smiled with her delicate and lovely features. “But don't stop the party just because I showed up… please enjoy." She waved a bit, cementing herself as part of the party’s monarchy.

Every pony in attendance recognized the Alicorn's wishes and stomped their hooves on the ground as all cheered, then the party resumed, and every pony started to mingle among themselves. Flurry looked down and let out a sigh. Seeing that something was bothering her, I asked,

"Is everything ok Flurry?"

She glanced at me and shook her head.

She woefully exclaimed, "I just get annoyed with my duties as a Princess." She spoke as her ears lay flat against her head.

I replied, “What do you mean?"

She replied,

“Zack, you need to understand that I am an Alicorn Princess. Every pony expects me to be my best and now that I'm 17, I have to go to events like these and make appearances as a Princess…But it’s starting to make me feel uncomfortable. All this pressure…They all expect me to be like my mom”

I looked at Flurry, a little confused, and said, "Why can't you just be yourself?"

She shook her head and said "Just forget it" After a little while another pony came over to Flurry. When Flurry saw this pony her face lit up instantly. "Aunty-Twilight! You made it!?"

Flurry ran up to her and gave her a hug. Twilight replied as she smiled, "It’s nice to see you too, Flurry."

After Twilight and Flurry tenderly reunited, Twilight turned her attention to me and asked, "Who is this, Flurry?" Flurry walked over to me and said,

"Oh this is my best friend Zack." Twilight smiled at Flurry and said, "Well it's good to hear that you’ve made a friend." Then Twilight turned to me and said, "It’s nice to meet you, Zack.”

I replied in a sheepish voice "h.. hi it's n... nice to m...meet you too…" anxiety started to rock my body, my fear was immense.

Flurry put a tender hoof on my shoulder, trying to help me feel more comfortable. I smiled at Flurry as I took a deep breath and said to Twilight,

"Sorry, I get a little shy meeting new ponies, but it is nice to meet you. Flurry has told me a lot of good things about you.”

Twilight smiled and replied, "Oh, you must tell me how you two met! Flurry has always been lonely. I wonder, when did you two meet?" Her voice was ecstatic, beaming with joy at the both of us. She clapped her hooves together in a show of her amusement. That Flurry finally made a friend.

My eyes widened as I tried to come up with an excuse, and replied to her question in a hesitant voice "Me and Flurry go way back." Then Flurry loudly interrupted, "TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.” Flurry stared at me and I anxiously nodded, “We have been best friends ever since."

When Flurry finished, Twilight's expression changed as she looked around and asked us to follow her. “Come with me.” She gestured forwards, and both me and Flurry looked at each other, before following Twilight outside the room into an empty hallway.

Twilight turned and said "Ok Flurry, I am going to ask you a question, don't be too alarmed…" Flurry nodded her head as she took a gulp before Twilight said "Is Zack a… changeling?"

Flurry stared at Twilight in shock as she said,

"How did you know?" Twilight replied,

"Because you just told me, and you also introduced Zack almost the exact same way that Spike introduced Thorax to me as Crystal hoof." Twilight chuckled, seeing that both myself and Flurry were utterly star-struck.

Flurry looked at Twilight, not knowing what to say. She took a breath before she said

"I'm sorry Twilight… I didn't mean to keep this from you, I was worried about what you would think about him if you knew he was a changeling".

As they continued to talk, I changed into my original form. Then I saw my body starting to have a warm glow. Suddenly Flurry and Twilight stopped talking as Twilight peaked behind Flurry to see me in my changeling form.

When Twilight saw me, she looked surprised. She then smiled and said to Flurry,

"Are you sure you're just friends? " Flurry looked at Twilight with a confused look as she said, "Of course we are. Why would you think we weren't?" Twilight replied, saying, "you look like you'd make a cute couple." Flurry opened her eyes wide and blushed, but when she gathered herself and cleared her throat, she responded to Twilight, "No, we're just friends."

Twilight smirked as she said, "Sure." Twilight rolled her eyes as she continued.

“Trust me, having a boyfriend isn't that bad, but don't worry, I'll keep this between us."

Then Twilight winked at me before walking back to the Party. Leaving me and Flurry in the empty hallway alone. I looked at Flurry, seeing that she was still blushing, still thinking about what Twilight said. Her posture was stiff, and she wouldn’t make eye contact with me.

After a few seconds of silence, I spoke to Flurry asking, "What did she mean about us being a cute couple?"

Flurry replied, still flustered, "I.. I think what she meant is that we would look cute if we were together."

I looked at Flurry, still confused as ever, "I don't understand. Aren't we together right now?"

Flurry giggled and said, "Well, yes, but no, it's complicated. Well, maybe, you see she thinks we should be together like boyfriend and girlfriend. Kinda like my mother and... kinda like Frosty and Ledger!"

I looked at her with my head tilted.
"Frosty and Ledger?"

Flurry replied, "...Kinda like mother and father." Her eyes became sad as she dropped her head, seemingly in pain.

After Flurry finished, she looked down and began to cry. I walked over to Flurry and pulled her in for a hug. A minute passed and Flurry stopped crying, but still held a woeful look, as she said, “Sorry about that… I-I just miss my father sometimes…” I gazed into her eyes‌.

“There is no need to apologize. You miss your father. I understand that, and I will always be with you to help you feel better.” As I spoke, Flurry's cheeks slowly turned red.

After I finished, Flurry quickly turned away from me as she said, “I... I think we should start heading back to the party.”

I stood up with a confused look on my face as I followed Flurry back to the party. I was wondering what happened back there. Why did she turn away from me? But I decided not to worry about it right now. There would always be other times to find out.

We spent the rest of the time having fun at the party together, and that was enough for me to be happy. I didn’t care what the other ponies thought. Various ponies glanced at us expectantly. But it was our night and our lives.

But it seemed to get to her. I tried to comfort her, but it didn’t seem like she was in the mood.

After a few minutes, the party ended and everyone left except for Twilight. Me and Flurry headed back to her room. When we got there I asked her “is everything ok? What’s wrong?"

Flurry replied, still hiding her face, “No, everything is fine.”

I replied, “Did I do something wrong to upset you‌?"

She quickly snapped and replied, “No! You did nothing wrong.” I walked up to Flurry and looked into her eyes and said, “Then why are you avoiding me? You have barely looked at me after Twilight spoke to us!”

Flurry sighed as she said in a soft voice,

“I-i don’t know how to explain this…but during the party, after you comforted me, my heart started beating and…” Furry paused as she saw a piece of paper on her nightstand and asked, “What’s that?" She pointed at the paper.

I replied, “That’s the present I made for you.” Flurry picked up the piece of paper and started to read it out loud.

“Bereft of a gift of the physical kind,
I have only words gifted from heart to mind,
So it comes: this approaching year's end,
Thoughts turn towards my dearest friend.
We steer through winding bends and handle all strife,
Leap over caverns, hills and valleys- the geography of life,
And like all friendships, it is so much more,
For the fellowship between us shapes our core,
It changes and rearranges us,
Makes us much better than before,
And the future of this rising new year,
New challenges yet new horizons lay near,

As she finished reading the poem, her eyes began to fill up with tears as I started walking toward her to give her a hug. Suddenly, Flurry pushes herself onto me, pressing her lips against mine. I stood still, as my eyes opened wide shocked at what had just happened. As flurry continued to kiss me, after a few seconds I started to settle down as we continued to kiss.

Chapter 9 A lie can Hurt (Flurry's P.O.V) (complete)

Chapter Nine

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. I felt refreshed, but when I turned to my side, expecting to see Zack lying next to me, I was a bit confused when he wasn't there. I sat up, rubbing my eyes trying to figure out where he could be until I remembered what happened yesterday.

I remembered reading the poem that Zack had written for me, feeling my heart swell with emotions as I read the words. I remembered kissing him, feeling the warmth of his lips against mine. And then I remembered the conversation we had after that, where Zack had expressed his true feelings for me.

My heart sank as I remembered the pain in Zack's eyes when I told him I only wanted to be friends.

I knew I had hurt him, but I didn't know what to do about it. Part of me wanted to ignore the situation, to pretend as if nothing had happened between us. But another part of me couldn't shake off the thought of losing him as a friend. I felt torn and confused.

As I got out of bed and got ready for the day, I couldn't help but feel guilty about the way I had treated Zack. I knew I needed to talk to him and apologize so I could try to make things right between us. But I was also scared. I was scared of confronting my feelings, scared of what might happen if I let myself be vulnerable.

As I made my way to the breakfast table, I tried to push these thoughts aside and focus on the day ahead.

I walked out of my room and started making my way to the dining room, but on the way, I heard voices coming from the training hall.

Curious, I peeked inside and saw Zack and Twilight talking and laughing together.

I was relieved that Zack was better than how I left him off last night. I smiled as I entered the training hall

"Hey you two," I said with a smile on my face

But as soon as Zack saw me, his expression changed. My smile faded as I saw him looking away from me, trying to avoid my gaze. My heart sank at the sight, finely relishing how much pain I had caused him.

I cleared my throat, feeling nervous as I walked toward them. "Um, good morning, Twilight, Zack," I said, my voice slightly shaky. Twilight gave me a warm smile, but Zack remained silent, still avoiding my gaze. I felt a lump form in my throat as I realized how much I had hurt him. I took a deep breath, trying to find the words to apologize.

I looked at Zack, who was still not looking at me and then at Twilight, who was observing the situation. I didn't know what to do, or how to fix things between us. I wanted to apologize, but I didn't know if it was enough.

"I'm sorry, Zack," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't mean to hurt you."

Zack took a deep breath before looking at me. "it's ok Flurry, I understand. " he said looking completely fine

I felt relieved at his words, but also a bit confused. Did he understand? Was he just saying that to make me feel better? I didn't know what to think.

"Are you sure?" I asked, still feeling guilty.

Zack gave me a small smile. "Yes, I'm fine. You just want us to be friends and I can understand that"

I let out a sigh of relief, feeling grateful for his understanding. but also a little hurt that I didn't get to tell him that I felt the same way

I looked at Zack with a smile as I felt mixed emotions. Part of me wanted to tell Zack how I felt, but another part of me was too scared to do so. I didn't want to risk losing our friendship completely.

Twilight spoke up, sensing the tension in the air. "Why don't we go get breakfast? I'm starving!" she said, trying to lighten the mood. I nodded, grateful for the distraction.

As we made our way to the dining room, I couldn't help but feel like there was still an unresolved tension between Zack and me. I knew I needed to have a proper conversation with him at some point, but for now, I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on enjoying the meal with my friends.

As me and Twilight ate, Twilight and Zack filled the room with lively conversation, but I found myself lost in my thoughts. I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off between us, and I knew I needed to address it sooner rather than later.

After we finished eating, Twilight excused herself to go check on her own responsibilities for the day. Zack and I remained at the table and I finished my drink in silence. I could feel his eyes on me, and I knew it was time to have that conversation.

"Zack, can we talk?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Zack nodded, his expression serious. "Of course. What's on your mind?"

I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. "I just wanted to say that...I know I hurt you yesterday, and I'm sorry about that. But I also wanted to say that...I don't think I was entirely honest with you."

Zack looked up at me, a bit confused. "What are you talking about Flurry? I already forgave you?"

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, and I suddenly became very nervous. I knew I needed to tell him the truth, but I was scared of how he might react. So instead, I decided to change the subject.

"Um, have you thought about what you want to do today?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

Zack's expression softened, and he smiled at me. "Actually, I was thinking about spending more time hanging out with Twilight, she has a book that she is telling me about and it sounds very interesting"

I felt a pang of disappointment in my chest at his words, but I knew I couldn't blame him. I had rejected him, and he was just trying to move on.

"That sounds like fun," I said, forcing a smile. "Maybe I'll join you guys later."

"I would like that," he said with a warm smile I looked at Zack with a smile as I felt mixed emotions. Part of me wanted to tell Zack how I really felt,

Zack nodded his head "I would like that," he said with a warm smile I returned the smile before leaving the dining room and as I left, I felt a sense of joy that maybe we can go back to how it was before but a small part of me wanted us to be something more, saying that we could never go back to the way things were before

As I walked through the halls, I couldn't help but think about what I had just said to Zack. I knew I needed to be honest with him about my feelings, but I didn't know if I was ready to face them myself.

I found myself wandering aimlessly around the castle, lost in thought until I stumbled upon a quiet courtyard. It was a secluded area, with a small fountain in the centre and a few benches scattered around. I sat down on one of the benches, taking in the peaceful surroundings.

As I sat there, I couldn't help but think about Zack and our friendship. He had always been there for me, even when I didn't deserve it. He had been patient, understanding, and supportive, and I had taken that for granted.

But now, things are different. I had hurt him, and I didn't know if I could ever make things right. And yet, a part of me still wanted to try. A part of me still held onto the hope that maybe, just maybe, we could be something more.

As I continued to sit on the bench, I couldn't help but think about how much Zack had meant to me. He was my closest friend, my confidant, and someone I trusted with my deepest secrets. I wanted to be more than just friends with him. I wanted to be his girlfriend.

But I also knew that it wasn't just about what I wanted. I had hurt him deeply and I needed to make things right.

I took a deep breath and decided to be brave. I pulled out a piece of paper and a pen from my bag and started to write down my thoughts. I wrote about how much I appreciated Zack, how much I valued our friendship, and how much I wanted to be honest with him.

After a few minutes, I looked down at the paper and read what I had written. It wasn't perfect, but it was from the heart.

Happy with my plan, I folded the piece of paper and tucked it under my wing. determined to give it to Zack as soon as possible. I knew I couldn't keep avoiding the truth, and I wanted to make things right between us.

As I stood up from the bench, I heard someone clearing their throat behind me. I turned around and saw Twilight standing there, a concerned expression on her face.

"Is everything okay, Flurry?" she asked, approaching me.

I hesitated for a moment before deciding to confide in her. "I need to tell Zack something, but I'm scared of how he'll react," I admitted, holding up the folded piece of paper.

Twilight looked at me with a smile,

“Flurry you are overthinking this just be honest with him, that’s all he has ever wanted,” she said trying to reassure me

I felt my nerves starting to act up “But what if he rejects me like I did to him what if he makes fun of me what i-”

Twilight interrupted me by putting her hoof over my mouth before saying,

“Flurry listen to yourself does that sound like something Zack would do” Twilight removed her hoof from my mouth “Zack has been there for you no matter he cares deeply for you and he doesn't want to hurt you even tho you hurt him”

“But how do you know that he still does I hurt his feelings,” I said my voice cracking with worry as I looked down at the ground, twilight “Because I know,” Twilight said lifting up my head to look into my eyes before she continued to talk ”you love him don't you”, I nodded my head “then tell him, it might be heard but it is what you want”

I nodded, taking comfort in her words. "Thanks, Twilight. I'll try my best."

Twilight smiled reassuringly. "Just be honest with him, Flurry. That's all he has ever wanted." I nodded my head grateful for her words, I left the room heading towards the library. If Zack was hanging out with Twilight he would be there, and I was right because when I saw him he had his nose buried in a book “Guess the book was interesting” I said to myself

I walked up to Zack saying “hay zack do you have a minute”

Zack moved his gaze to look up at me

“Sure what’s up”

I took a deep breath before pulling out the letter from under my wing as I said

“I want to say that I am sorry for hurting you, you are my best friend and I took you for granted” Zack interrupted saying “flurry it’s ok I already forgave you and I understand that you just want to be friends,” zack said trying to assure me

“But I don’t I haven’t been honest with you I was just scared of losing you so here,” I said as I handed him the folded piece of paper

Zack grabbed the piece of paper and und-folded it as he began to read what I put on there as he read he looked confused and then surprised

When he finished reading, he looked up at me with a smile on his face. "Flurry, I don't know what to say," he said softly.

I took a deep breath “Zack you are the bests friend I could ever ask for you are nice kind and most of all funny, you always know how to make me feel better whenever I am sad, you are the person a care about you've always been there for me when I needed you I just wished I did the same”

I paused when I start to feel my anxiety rise. I took a deep breath as I continued “You're the only person that has ever been nice to me ever since my dad died and when that happened you were there and you have been honest with me so it is time for me to be honest with you. I… I-I love you, Zack”

Zack's eyes opened wide before giving me a kiss on my cheek saying “I love you too,”

I felt a rush of emotions flood through me at Zack's words. Part of me was overjoyed that he still loved me, but still felt a little bad about how I treated him. However, the possibility of a future with him gave me hope and I knew I had to take things slow and be careful this time.

As we sat there in the library, lost in thought, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us. But for now, I was just happy to have been honest with him and to know that he still had feelings for me.

As the night wore on, Zack and I walked back to my room, feeling content and at peace with each other. We didn't say much along the way, but the silence was comfortable and reassuring.

As we continued to walk to my room, I couldn't help but feel happy with how things played out. Once we got to my room, we said goodnight to each other before I crawled into bed. Before Zack settled in beside me, and once he got himself settled in I moved my body closer to Zack, cuddling up with him and wrapping one of my wings around him as we drifted off to sleep.

At that moment, I realized that honesty really is the best policy and that being true to yourself and your feelings can lead to amazing things. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt grateful for having Zack in my life and excited for what the future may hold for us.

Chapter 11 a new friend

Chapter eleven a new friend

As me and Twilight stepped off the train, I continued to look down at the ground. I knew that I would miss Flurry, but I didn't realise how much. Twilight noticed my mood and put a comforting hoof on my shoulder. "I know it's tough being away from Flurry," she said. "But don't worry, we'll figure out a way for you two to be together soon."

I looked up at Twilight, giving her a small smile. After that, we continued to walk toward the castle. Twilight pointed out various buildings, saying stuff about each one. I tried to keep up with what she was saying, but quickly got overwhelmed by all the information.

Eventually, we arrived at her castle and when we entered the castle, my jaw fell open as I looked at the inside of the castle in amazement.

Twilight giggled as she said, "so I take it that you like the castle. " I slowly nod my head, my mouth still wide open

"It's incredible," I said, still in awe.

Twilight looked at me and smiled “i’m glad you like it”

She said before give me a tour of the castle

As we walked thought the hall’s i felt like a little kid looking at everything.

The castle was like nothing I had ever seen before. There were towering bookshelves lining the walls, filled with countless volumes of knowledge. Sparkling chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting shimmering light across the room. The floors were made of gleaming marble, and intricate tapestries hung on the walls.

Twilight led me through the halls, pointing out various rooms and telling me stories about the history of the castle.

Then she walked into the throne room an the was a blue pony with a rainbow mane standing there standing there

I looked at the blue pony with a rainbow mane standing in the throne room, feeling a bit confused. Twilight noticed my confusion and introduced me to her friend. "Zack, this is my good friend Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash, meet Zack," she said.

Rainbow Dash grinned and gave me a friendly nod. "Hey there, nice to meet ya," she said.

I gave a small smile

Twilight turned to Rainbow Dash and said, "Hey Rainbow, I was wondering if you could spend some time with Zack just to make him feel a bit more comfortable here."

Rainbow Dash replied, "I would love to, Twilight, but I have to go back to Ponyville tomorrow."

Twilight thought for a moment before asking, "How about this? Would you like Zack to come with you to Ponyville? I think it would be good for him to see more of Equestria and meet some of our other friends."

Rainbow Dash . took a second to think before a smirk appeared on her face “Sure, why not? Who knows it might be fun having some other guy to hang out with," she said, nudging playfully

I wasn’t really sure about this plan though. I just came to this castle and now i am already leaving

Twilight noticed my hesitation and said, "Don't worry, Zack. I promise you're going to enjoy being with her. Plus, Rainbow Dash is the best flyer in Equestria. "

I thought about it for a moment and then nodded my head. "Okay, I'll go," I said.

Rainbow dash had a smile on her face as we both began to leave the castle, As we walked towards the outskirts of the town, Rainbow Dash said “you don't’ need to hide your true form i already know your a changeling and no one else is here”

I was taken aback by her words. "You... you know?" I stuttered, feeling my heart race in my chest.

Rainbow dash looked at me a bit concerned "ya twilight told me, but why do you want to hide that fact from other ponies"

I hesitated for a moment before answering. "I don't know, I guess I'm just shy about it. It's not something that's accepted by most ponies," he said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Rainbow Dash nodded in understanding. "Yeah, I can see why it would be tough. But you know what? I think it's really cool that you can transform into anything you want whenever you want!" she exclaimed, a grin spreading across her face.

I couldn't help but smile at Rainbow Dash's enthusiasm letting out a small chuckle.

“I didn’t think that ponies would be this accepting”

Rainbow Dash shrugged. "Hey, we're all different in our own way, and that's what makes us awesome. Plus, I know what it's like to feel different and not quite fit in."

I nodded, feeling grateful for Rainbow Dash's understanding. As we continued to walk, we talked about our differences and our struggles we had growing up,

Rainbow told me how she once wanted to be like the wonderbolts and how she wanted to fly alongside them and now she is the captain of the wonderbolts.

As we continued to walk she preceded to tell me about how she became captain of the wonderbolts,

She also told me about some of the adventures she went on with her friends

“And that’s how we defeated the there villains” rainbow said looking a bit proud as I rolled my eyes with a smirk on my face “oh sorry i just realised that i have been going on about myself” she said a bit of blush appearing on her face

“No worries it’s fine” I said , laughing it off, “I never got the chance to ask you about your past, how did you come to be the way you are?” rainbow said looking a bit curious,

“well there is not much to tell i am pretty sure twilight told you everything” well yes twilight did tell me” she said giving a little chuckle “but i want to hear it from you, what’s your story” I rolled my eyes and for the rest of the walk i told rainbow dash my entire story. “That’s it” she said looking a bit disappointed “what about before you came to the empire” “i don’t remember what happened before that” i said trying to seem calm. Rainbow looked at me before giving a smirk “say have you ever used your wings before or are they just for show” “for show?” i replied a confused look on my face, “what i am trying to do is to challenge you to a race tomorrow”

I raised an eyebrow in surprise. "A race?" I repeated, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves.

Rainbow Dash nodded eagerly. "Yeah! I've never raced against a changeling before, and I bet you're pretty fast with those wings of yours. What do you say?"

I stopped taking a second to think before agreeing “ok rainbow dash i accept your challenge”

“A race” i said with a surprised look

Rainbow Dash nodded,with a smile on her face. "That's right! And don't worry, it'll be a friendly competition. We'll just see who's faster," she said, playfully nudging my shoulder.

I chuckled. "Okay, I'm up for it. But I have to warn you, I can be pretty fast when I want to be," I said, spreading them out to emphasise his point.

Rainbow smiled “i guess that a yes” she said letting out a small chuckle “we can have to race through the canyon tomorrow let get a hotel room for the night”

Nodded my head as we walked through the streets of Ponyville, as a minute later Rainbow Dash started talking about her past races and some of the strategies she's used to win them. I listened attentively, taking mental notes on how I could use my own abilities to my advantage.

After a while, we arrived at a small hotel on the outskirts of town and before we entered changing my form to look like a pony, rainbow looked back at me seeing me change my form "i am never going to get used to that" she said giggling

I chuckled as we walked into the hotel lobby. The receptionist greeted us warmly and gave us the keys to our room. As we made our way to the room, I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous about the race tomorrow. I had never competed in a race before, let alone against a pony as fast as Rainbow Dash.

But i shrugged it off, “there’s no reason to be scared” i said to myself trying to rescue myself

Once we got to our room, we both walked in to the room i imminently flopped onto one of the bed

Rainbow Dash laughed at my dramatic flop onto the bed. "Tired already? Better rest up, tomorrow's gonna be a big day " she said with a playful grin before leaving the room “i’ll be back i’m just going to tell twilight”

Chapter 12: The Race For My Life

Chapter 13: the truth

After everything went black I woke up to find myself lying beside Flurry in front of a warm fire. I looked around to see that I was in Flurry’s room. Everything was right where I last saw it. Not a single thing was moved an inch. Flurry was watching me and noticed that I was awake.

“Hey Zack, how are you feeling?” said Flurry with a smile on her face. “Ohh what . . . .what happened?” I said as I rubbed my head. “Don’t you remember?” said Flurry. “What I remember last is hitting my head on that tree in the race. '' I said as I rubbed my head trying to remember what happened during the race.

“Well before you took off after rainbow dash your wings started glow bright red glowing bright red before you took off making a big shock wave, I watched you as you slowly started to catch up to rainbow dash, then you crashed into a tree, lucky rainbow dash caught you and brought you to the finish line before you fell unconscious”.

“I do remember that, '' I said. Just then, when me and Flurry were talking, There was a knock on the door. Cadence then came into the room. I thought that she needed Flurry for something but I was in for a little surprise. Cadence when she entered the room, she hugged me. I wasn’t expecting this with everything that has happened. but she seemed to be happy to see me. As we pulled apart, she said good morning to me with a smile.

I was so confused, not understanding what was going on. “Why . . . Why did you hug me? I said with a little doubt. “Because I wanted to apologise for everything I did to both of you” Cadence said. “I was just worried that you would hurt my daughter because of what happened in my past, but after you got hurt and I saw what that did to Flurry, I finally understood that you make my daughter happy and if she is happy then so am I”. I was shocked at what she just said,

but she seemed to be understanding instead of hostile so i let it slide this one time. I then saw Cadence give Flurry a hug and she was the same to her as always. Then there was a knock on the castle door, “i’ll get it” Cadence said as she left the room. “Well . . . that was weird," I said. “Since when was she accepting of me”, I asked Flurry. “Since a few seconds ago, but she was always accepting of you, in her own way”. Flurry said with happiness in her voice. “I am just glad you're ok”

“I am to, I mean how could things get any worse” I said, giving Flurry a smile . Just then right after I said that thing’s can’t get worse Cadence re-entered the room. “Hey Zack,” Cadence said. “Somepony is here to see you”. I got up and followed Cadence downstairs to the castle doors. As we made it to the door’s I saw a changeling who looked just like me. He also had red wings and red eyes but he had red glowing cracks on the left side of his face down to his front left leg. “Uh hello” I said , not knowing who he was. The strange changeling said. “Hello Zack, it is good to finally meet you”.

I was confused and a bit wary. "Do I know you?" I asked cautiously. The changeling smiled. , “no you wouldn't know me but I know who you are, zack catcher if i remember correctly"

I raised an eyebrow, surprised that he knew my name. "How do you know my name?" I asked, my suspicion growing.

The changeling chuckled softly. "You look surprised I've been keeping an eye on you, Zack. Watching your every move, studying your strengths and weaknesses," he said, his voice dripping with a mix of arrogance and familiarity. "I know more about you than you know about yourself." I took a step back in fear, the strange changeling smirked at me as fear was all over my face

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I stared at the changeling. His words sent chills down my body, and I could feel my heart racing in my chest. I didn't know what to say or do, so I just stood there, frozen in place. Cadence stepped forward, sensing my unease.

"Who are you?" she asked, her voice firm and authoritative.

the changeling looked at her saying, "this has nothing to do with you" suddenly cadence start to faded until she was completely gone

I felt a surge of panic as Cadence disappeared before my eyes. The room fell into an eerie silence, and the realisation hit me that I was completely alone with this mysterious changeling.

"What have you done to her?" I demanded, my voice trembling with a mix of fear and anger. The changeling chuckled, his eyes glinting with malicious intent.

"Don't worry about her," he sneered. "She's simply been... relocated for the time being. Now, let's focus on you, Zack."

My mind raced, searching for a way to escape this unsettling situation. I couldn't let fear consume me; I had to find the strength to confront this changeling and protect those I cared about.

"Why are you here?" I managed to ask, my voice wavering slightly.

I felt a surge of panic as Cadence disappeared before my eyes. The room fell into an eerie silence, and the realisation hit me that I was completely alone with this mysterious changeling.

"What have you done to her?" I demanded, my voice trembling with a mix of fear and anger. The changeling chuckled, his eyes glinting with malicious intent.

"Don't worry about her," he sneered. "She's simply been... relocated for the time being. Now, let's focus on you, Zack."

"Why are you here?" I managed to ask, my voice wavering slightly.

The changeling took a step closer, his presence sending a wave of darkness through the room.

“I am here to take back what you have taken from me” His words sent a jolt of confusion through me. "What do you mean? I haven't taken anything from you," I replied, my voice tinged with both curiosity and apprehension.

The changeling's eyes glowed with an intensity that sent shivers down my spine. "You may not remember, but before I came to the Empire, I was in control," he revealed, his voice dripping with bitterness. "I was a ruthless and cold-hearted being, feared by many. But when i arrived fell to the empire you took everything from me”

I listened to his words, trying to comprehend the magnitude of what he was saying. The realisation slowly dawned on me that he was claiming to be the true identity I had once possessed, the embodiment of the darkness I had forgotten. The weight of his accusations hung heavy in the air.

"I... I don't know what to say," I stammered, my voice filled with uncertainty. "If what you say is true, then I'm deeply sorry for the pain I may have caused you. But I can't undo the past. I can only strive to be a better pony now." i said trying to calm ark down

“That's what I am talking about, you're a red moon changeling. You are supposed to be hard, cold, and feared,”he said with anger all over his face before he quickly calmed down. “But I’m not like that”. “I'm honest, loyal and kind”. “That’s just it”.

You're nothing like me in the slightest”. He said with his voice a lot calmer than before “And I see that now ''. “Tell you what, how you feel about a deal”. “What kind of deal”. I said with confusion in my voice. “I give you all your old memories along with all of your powers if you give me all of your body for a certain amount of time each day”.

I was shaken by this offer. I did want my old memories back along with my powers but I just couldn't give up my body like that. “Tick tock this offer isn’t going to stay on the table forever”. Ark said with a smirk on his face. “It’s an offer which I can’t accept”. I said. The smirk on Ark's face changed as he looked at me with a very creepy and smug smile. “I was hoping you would say that. I only made that deal because I felt bad for you but as expected you declined me”.

ark said with a smile. “What do you mean by that?”. I said with worry in my voice. “You see, I don't actually need to make a deal with you . I am powerful enough to take over your entire body.” ark said with a creepy smile. “What are you talking about?” I said with worry in my voice. “Where is the fun in telling you? I think it would be better if I showed you. As you take a front row seat at my plan”. ark said. “Sorry but I won't let that happen” I said. “Oh i know and since it would be more fun to have a fair fight how about you have all of your memories now”

As my memories flooded back, I felt a mix of emotions surging through me. Regret, guilt, and the weight of past actions weighed heavily on my conscience. The darkness that had consumed me as the Ark resurfaced, threatening to consume me once more. But this time, I was determined to face it head-on.

With newfound clarity, I stared at Ark, my gaze unwavering. "I won't let you take control of me," I declared, my voice filled with resolve. "Ii won’t let you destroy everything and everypony I care about."

I looked directly at the ark waiting, before charging at the Ark and attempted to hit it with my hoof but the Ark used magic to grab my hoof and tossed me to the ground. “Come on, I was hoping for a fight”. Ark said with cokeyness in his voice. I got up but he got kicked in the face causing me to fall on my face as he stood next to me. “Can’t even lay a hoof on me in your own mind”. “This is in my mind”. I said as I got up again.

“Well duh” Ark said. “Now take this”! Ark tried to punch me in the face again but I ducked below and kicked him back. Ark stumbled back “Not bad but not good enough” Ark said with anger in his voice. Ark then charged at me with a fast punch to the face. Sending me flying to the other end of the room as I started to remember when I met Flurry and when she picked out his name. Ark then smelled the air and smiled.

“Ah, I just love the smell of fear!” Ark said with a smile. “What’s wrong? Life flashing through your eyes”? “Not at all” “ I Said before getting up again”. “Take this”. I felt a burst of confidence passing through him as he was fully ready to take on Ark. “Ya want me? Come and get me”! Ark didn’t reply as we continued the battle. I first got the upper hoof as I knew this was in my mind and therefore, I could do anything.

He made his hoof’s hard and not easy to break. I continued to punch Ark as Ark was kicking me along with punching me again. This went on for a while but with each passing moment, I was getting more and more nervous. I’m not sure but I think Ark noticed this advantage and when I was open, he tossed him to the ground. I tried to get up but Ark blocked me. “How cute that you're trying to get up and fight," Ark said. “Let go of me”.

I said. “Oh I can't do that”. Ark said. "Now goodbye . . . forever”. Ark then pushed me in a little cage and sent it far away. “NOOOO”. I was screaming as loud as I could but it was no use. Ark had won and I had lost.

Chapter 14: Fear of Loss

As Rainbow Dash brought Zack to the finish line, my heart raced with concern. I hurriedly made my way to his side, calling out his name in a voice filled with fear and worry. "Zack, are you okay?" I pleaded, hoping for any sign of responsiveness. But to my dismay, his eyes slowly closed. As Zack's eyes closed, a surge of emotions overwhelmed me, and tears streamed down my cheeks.

I pulled Zack into a hug as I began to cry, Rainbow dash walked up to me “I didn’t think something like this would happen” she said with sadness in her voice “I only wanted to have a race but I didn’t expect this to happen”. “We need to get Zack to a hospital right now”. I said with strictness in my voice. Twilight then got the nurses out on the track. As they took Zack to the nearby hospital.

I stayed close by him as we made our way to the hospital. After we got to the hospital, we went into the waiting room and waited. “This is all my fault if I didn’t race him this wouldn’t have happened”. Rainbow said. “It’s not your fault”. Twilight said. “Zack lost his focus and he and he hit a tree and that led to Zack getting knocked out. No pony could have seen this coming”, “I just feel so bad about it all” Rainbow Dash said in a quiet voice. I was watching this all go down as I thought about Zack and if he was going to be ok. I was worrying about him more than I ever have before.

After what seemed like hours, a doctor came into the room. I quickly turned to the doctor. “Is he alright”? I asked. “Well, Zack physically is perfectly fine but we ran some tests on him and based on what we found his brain is in such distress, but we can’t be sure as of now”. The doctor said, “Can I see him?” I asked. “Of course right this way”. The doctor said as he led the three of us down the hallway and into Zack’s room.

As soon as I saw him lying there unconscious, I rushed over to him and hugged him like I haven't seen him for years. At this point, I could feel a few tears drip down my face as my eyes started to water a bit. I could see Twilight and Rainbow Dash looking at each other with a considered look. “I’ll leave you here for now”. The doctor said as he left the room

. Twilight and Rainbow Dash didn’t say a word as they sat down while I stayed with Zack, A few hours had passed and I was still with Zack. Rainbow Dash was the first one to speak. “So are we just gonna sit here and be quiet or what?” Rainbow Dash said. “Well I’m staying with Zack for as long as he’s unconscious,” I said with tears streaming down my cheek “Ok because I have to leave pretty soon.

The Wonderbolts won’t like it if I miss practice. A few minutes later Rainbow Dash said her goodbyes and she left the room. I stood there as I asked Twilight. “Hey Aunt Twilight, Is there anything you could do to help with Zack”? I asked. “Sadly no there is nothing I can’t do not after his powers have sufficed”. Twilight said. “But there has to be”. I said as I started to cry and held Zack’s hoof. “There has to be '' Twilight let out a sigh “There isn’t he is a red moon changeling and when they are unconscious they can’t be affected by anything that is related to magic”. Twilight said. “Please Zack, just wake up”.

I saw that Zack wasn’t moving an inch as I continued to cry. Twilight was watching this unfold as she looked down at the floor, sighing quietly. Just then, Some nurses came into the room. “I am sorry if I am interrupting but we need to do some muscle therapy on Zack”. Said the nurse Red Heart. “I’m going to get some food”. Twilight said, “Do you want anything Flurry”? “I think I’m good,” I said as I sat down. The nurses then started the muscle therapy on Zack for a while as I sat there. I was still thinking about Zack so much that I didn't realise that the nurses had left the room. A little while later Twilight walked back into the room, holding a few bags.

“I figured you would want a hayburger anyway,” Twilight said. “Thank’s Twilight”. I said even though I was too sad to think about eating right now. A few more hours had passed and the sun was long gone as the night came in. Me and Twilight were still there, Zack was the same as before. “Flurry”. Twilight said. “I do have to get going now. Are you gonna come as well? “No”. I said as I looked at Zack. “I want to stay with Zack until he wakes up. I’m guessing that already Twilight knew that she wasn’t gonna be able to change my mind so she left me with Zack. It didn’t matter. I wanted to be with Zack and I want to stay by his side for as long as it takes because I know that he would do the same if roles were switched. I’m guessing that I fell asleep at some point because when I looked out the window, I could see the sun rising up.

I looked at Zack who was still unconscious, I looked behind me and grabbed the hayburger that was still in the paper bag that Twilight left. My stomach then started to rumble a bit. I haven’t eaten anything since yesterday morning and I was starving so I picked up the hayburger and started to eat. Even though I was starving, I still couldn't stop thinking about Zack.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door as Twilight walked in.” Twilight”. I said but I didn’t acknowledge my mother. I was still upset with her and didn’t want to talk to her just yet. “Flurry we need to leave right now”. My mother said in a strict voice. “No, I can't”. I said in protest. “Zack need’s me. I need him”. “Flurry we need to let the doctors help Zack now”. Twilight said in a calm voice, “Flurry we are going back with me now head back home”. Mom said as she tried to pull me out of the room.

“I’m not leaving this building until Zack is feeling better”! I shouted at my mother in protest. I’m guessing that Mom knew that no matter what she did, I was staying at the hospital. “It doesn't matter if he is feeling better or not, we're leaving”. Mom said using her magic to try and pull me out “But he needs me. I need him”! I shouted in protest. Then I noticed that Zack was starting to shake a bit. Just then, a few doctors walked past the room and noticed Zack. “code blue”. One of the doctors said as they started to perform something on Zack.

Mom still tried to use her magic and pull me out of the room. “How many times do I have to say it Mother, I'm not leaving Zack”. I said. Mom looked furious but defeated at the same time. “Fine, but the second he is feeling better, we are leaving, '' Mom said with a stubborn look. The doctors continued to do whatever they were doing to Zack as the three of us watched from behind. Every second, I couldn't stop thinking about Zack. Finally after what felt like forever one of the doctors came out of the room “How is he ok” I said with worry in my voice “I can say for sure that Zack will make a full recovery”.

The doctor said with a smile. Without thinking, I rushed to Zack’s room and sat next to him. Twilight and Mom followed soon after, Mom looking more than pleased to get it over with. I heard Zack’s hoof and I could see his eyelids start to move a little bit. “Zack”. I said. “Come on Zack wake up”. After a little while, Zack’s eyes did start to open as he woke up. “Zack”. I said holding his hoof.

“Y. . . yeah” A wide smile appeared on my face as I started to kiss him. I could then see Zack start to blush a little as he smiled. “Where did that come from”. Zack said with a smile on his face. “I was just so worried about you that I let it all out”. I said. “I mean I didn’t say I didn’t enjoy it”. Zack said as we both hugged each as he gave me a kiss on my cheek. Meanwhile, I could see my mom watching this with an annoyed look on her face as she tapped her hoof on the floor. “We need to head home now, Flurry”.

I immodestly looked down as I began to walk out of the room. Zack appeared right in front of me, I looked behind me to see that he wasn’t in the bed, “how did you do that” I said looking at him surprised “You tell me first where are you going” Zack said in a calm voice” pushed Zack out of the way “come on Flurry were leaving now” she a said with an aggressive tone as she began to force me out of the room.

Zack split us both up as he said “ok Cadence I understand that you don’t like me, but don’t take it out on your daughter” Mom looked at Zack surprised at what he just said “Well you heard what Flurry said thanks for visiting, bye” mom said. Zack turned around and looked at me and asked “Do you want to go with her?” I shook my head, and Zack turned back to my mom and said “Well you heard her, thanks for visiting” As he said that I saw his wing pulse glowing red. “We should be on our way now,” Zack said. I then saw Zack’s horn begin to glow as he used his horn and teleported us outside. “What was that”? I said in shock as Zack teleported us to a bridge overlooking a creek.

“I . . . I don’t know. I guess I have more power than I realised” Zack said, “I couldn't teleport” I replied “That would have been convenient before” Zack said as we overlooked the creek. We looked at the water flowing under the bridge for a little while before I spoke. “Let’s just hope my mother doesn't come after you,” I said in a laughing tone. “Trust me I know what will happen if she catches us,” Zack said, “If she didn’t hate me before then she definitely hates me now”. Zack said jokingly trying to lighten the mood “She always hated changelings ever since Chrysalis attacked her wedding”.

“But we weren’t even born then so why would she forbid us to see each other”? Zack said “I don’t know, it’s just not fair”. I looked at Zack with a mugged smile, “I just want you to know that no matter what my mother says, we will still be in each other’s lives” I said as we leaned in and gave him a small kiss, I don’t know how or why but this time it felt special this time, Well more special this time then before. I knew that even if my mom went to drastic measures, I would find a way to be with Zack and I knew he would find a way to be with me. Neither of us even looked at the time to see that it was getting dark outside.

Just then, we heard a few sets of hoofprints as Cadence and Twilight found us on the bridge. “There you two are” Cadence said “It’s about time”, “I think it’s time for me to take my leave” Zack said as he started to walk away, “Where do you think you're going”? Cadence said, “I’m leaving”? I said in a confused voice, “While you two were away, me and Twilight talked it over and I have a few words that I should have said a long time ago”, Cadence said, taking a breath before she continued “What are those words”? I said, wondering what she wanted to say.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry for arresting Zack, banshing him from the empire and being a jerk to both of you, I was too blind by my past to realise that Zack makes you happy and I should have seen that and have been ok with it, So I’m sorry” I said nothing as I walked up to my mom to giving a hug “I forgive you mom” I said as I pulled away from the hug. “If it’s ok with the both of you, Zack can stay in the empire, “I like the sound of that” Zack said with a warm smile, “We get to stay together” I said as Zack and I hugged each other, Cadence and Twilight were watching this with a smile on their face “Told you that it was the right choice”.

Twilight said with a smile on her face “I suppose you were right but I can just sense something” Cadence said with a little bit of worry on her face.

“What” Twilight asked “Oh nothing” Cadence replied trying to change the subject. It felt like forever since the sun had set as the four of us took the train back to the empire.

Once we got back to the crystal empire, Cadence showed Zack his own room. “I figured you two would want to sleep in the same room so I took the liberty of making a room for you two” Cadence said with a smile. “Thank you mom”. I said pulling mom into a hug “I have to say that I like this new you”. Zack said. “I shouldn’t have acted the way I did, especially to you Flurry, so I am going to try and make it up for you too,” Cadence said, giving Zack a warm smile. “I do have to hit the hay now”.she said good night to both of us before she left. After she left to her corridor’s, we walked into the room my mom made before going to sleep

Meanwhile . . .

I continued to lay on the cold grow cage limiting my movement “let me out” I shouted getting no response as usual. This place has been nothing but torture. Suddenly Ark appeared right in front of me. “What do you want” I said in a hostel and tired tone “haven’t you tortured me enough” Ark smirk “I am not here for that” Ark said looking at me “I just came here to say that there has been a change of plans, I was going to destroy your life but now I think it would be better to take it”.

“What do you mean” I said not fully listening "I am going to live your life starting with your dear Flurry" Ark said as the room started to fill with dark laughter I stood up and shouted at Ark “don’t you dare lay a hoof on her or I’ll'' Ark interrupted me saying “you’ll what you lost you can’t do anything other than watch” I was about to shout at Ark but disappeared as quickly as he appeared. I let out a sigh as I hit my head on the cage. Suddenly the cage fell apart, I stood in shock as the cage fell apart around me but I knew it didn’t matter

Chapter 15: Preparation

It was just another day in the castle as I was signing some papers when I heard what sounded like a magical explosion. “Oh great,” I said as I quickly ran out to the courtyard to see what was going on. When I got there I saw Flurry and Zack, I walked over to them with a little considered look. “Pardon me but may I ask what you two are doing”? I said to Flurry and Zack. “We're just practising with Zack’s new power’s mom”.

Flurry said with a smile on her face. I rolled my eyes as Zack said “Is this what unicorns have to do with their magic”? “I’m guessing so I mean this is how I learned at school”. Flurry said, “Now just be careful you two, Twilight is coming over to help organize the library and I don't want any holes in it just like back when you were born”. I said as I walked back inside. I sat back down again as I continued to finish the rest of my work.

A few minutes later I finished the last of my duties that I had to do for the day and as got up from my desk I a guard came in the room and said “Cadence, twilight is here to see you”, I smiled at the guard as I said “send her in” of course, your highness the guard said as twilight walked into the room “Hello there Cadence ''. Twilight said with a smile on her face.

I returned the smile to Twilight as I walked up to her hugging her and saying “It’s such a treat ”. I said. “It's always a pleasure to see you Cadence”. Twilight said. Pulling me into a hug, after we pulled apart we started to head to the library. Once we arrived I turned to Twilight and asked “I just need help sorting out the strange fact section”

Twilight nodded eagerly, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Of course, Cadence! Sorting out the strange fact section sounds like a fascinating task. Let's dive right into it."

We made our way to the section of the library dedicated to peculiar and extraordinary phenomena. Shelves were lined with books containing peculiar facts about the world, magical anomalies, and unexplained mysteries; we even came across a legends book that talks about Tirek discord and the sirens. As we continued to put all the books back a book fell from the shelf landing on a page with a picture of Zack

which immediately piqued my interest. I used my magic to pick up the book to get a better look at the picture, and it looked exactly like him. “This is interesting. Why would Zack be in a book”. I asked myself as I continued to read. “Red moon changelings have red eyes and wings and they are born every one hundred red moons. That must be why I didn't see one when they attacked the canterlot and all of the Equestria”.

I said to myself. I continued to read. I learned that red moon changelings don’t get hungry but they need to feed off love to survive. “That must be what happened all those years ago. Zack wasn’t intentionally trying to hurt Flurry, he just needed to feed. This explains so much. But he could be a threat to the empire. If he’s been doing this all along, oh boy”. I was standing there talking to myself when Twilight came over.

“All good over here”? Twilight said. “Yeah, all good over here”. I said as I tried to keep my cool. “Ok”. Twilight said before continuing her part. I knew I wanted to confront Zack but I needed proof first. “How can I get proof on a creature that’s all too rare”? I sat down and started to think of something anything but nothing came to mind.

Then I remembered something. I remembered one day when Flurry came home in tears. When I asked her why she was in tears, she said she couldn't read a book in class that her teacher gave to her. I didn’t see the book but I think it was about a rare creature. If I could ask Flurry, then they might be the same book. She might have known after all that he is a threat. This could change things as if she knew, she most likely would want to keep him close. I sat there as I tried to fill in the blanks in my head.

It didn’t make sense that Flurry would want to keep this all from me in the first place. No matter how much I played it in my head, it never made sense. Flurry knew about my past with changelings. Even though there was one good changeling, they were not my favourite creatures. She would have told me about this. . . right? Maybe as to not cause a panic but . . . .she would have told me . . . maybe . . . I’m to blame”? I stood there for what seemed like an eternity. At this point, Twilight was all done with her section of the library and went over to check on me.

“What’s taking so long? It looks like you have seen a shadow pony”? Twilight said. “Oh… Oh, nothing. Just taking a while to reorganize the book’s over here. “Let me help ya”. Twilight said as she helped me reorganize the library pretty quickly too. “That was fast”. I said. “Just wait until you see how fast I can reorganize my castle’s library”. Twilight said. “With or without magic”. I said. “Without”. Twilight said giving me a wink.”Wow”. I said looking at her surprised.

“Anyway, I am getting the feeling that my stomach is telling me to get some food right about now”. Twilight said. “I know a good place in the empire”. I said as we walked out of the castle and started to head towards a restaurant. “Is everything alright Cadence? You seem a bit on edge”. Twilight said in a nervous voice. I let out I sigh “While we were back in the library, I was thinking about why Flurry would keep Zack away from me. It just doesn’t make sense to me”. I said. “I don’t think you should worry about it anymore. You and Flurry just made up a few days ago, Don’t try and do something to jeopardize it right now.

You do remember what happened the last time you tried to split them up” Twilight said, “Your right” I said, as we continued to walk as we reached The Tasty Treat. We walked in, ordered and took a seat. Twilight was looking at the menu as she was wondering what she was gonna have, and I was still thinking about what to do. I knew Twilight said not to do anything and I knew she was right. I decided to wait and see if Zack does something that I needed to get involved in.

Flurry did seem to be happier ever since I let Zack stay with her, and I knew I couldn't risk her happiness like that ever again. Flurry would hate me for trying to split them up again and I would look terrible and just be a bad image to the empire. If only Shinning was still here. I turned my attention to the menu as I said “What to order, There are too many choices. I’m just gonna settle with the soup”.

A few minutes later and a waiter came and asked us what will it be. “I will just have the soup please ”, I said. “I’ll take a hayburger please”, Twilight said. The waiter then left and came back with our orders. We then ate our food and left the restaurant. As we left and headed back to the castle I tried to forget about what I was thinking about, but It was in my head and I couldn't get it out even though Twilight told me to. I knew that if I did act then it would escalate like last time. As we made our way back to the castle we saw Flurry and Zack still practicing Zack’s new powers. So far they haven’t destroyed the castle yet at least so there was something to be happy about.

When me and Twilight got back inside the castle, we started to discuss Flurry’s birthday party that was coming up tomorrow. “So what were you thinking for Flurry’s 18th birthday Cadence”, Twilight said. “I’m not initially sure yet”, I said. “I have a few ideas on what I am going to do”, Twilight said with a smirk on her face. “Let me guess, you think Pinkey should plan the party”, I said in a joking tone. twilight let out a small chuckle as she said “It’s kinda her thing” I rolled my eyes saying “I suppose that would work” Twilight calmed herself down as she looked at me

“Any ideas for gifts”, Twilight asked wondering what gift I was going to give Flurry. “I know she’s started to like wearing dresses. Maybe we can get a dress specially made for her”, I said scratching my head as I continued. “Maybe something in the spirit of the empire. Maybe a dress with crystals weaved into the fabric”. “She would love that”, twilight said clapping her hooves together. “Then what are we waiting for? We should head to the best designer I know”, Twilight said, as we started to head to the train station to go to Ponyville.

Once we got there, we headed off to the Carousel Boutique to order the dress. we knock on the door and Rarity let us in. “Darlings it's so good to see two again, Rarity said with a smile on her face. “It’s so good to see you two”, Twilight said hugging Rarity. “Aren’t you supposed to be planning Flurry’s birthday or did you get pinky for that”, Rarity said in a playful tone. “We were wondering if you could make a dress for Flurry’s birthday”, I said hoping she had time to do so.

“Daring, I would love to do that”, Rarity said with a smile as she continued “What kind of dress were you hoping to get”, “We were thinking of just a white dress with some small blue crystals weaved in the fabric if you have any at the disposal”, Twilight said with a smile. “Well lucky for you I just got a fresh order of crystals from the rock farm. I can get it to you in a few hours”

Rarity said before turning away to start work on the dress. “That would be great”, Twilight said. As she gave Rarity a smile before walking out of the store. “Ok, Flurry's gift is done. Should we head to sugar cube corner”, I said to Twilight. Twilight nodded her head as we then walked through the town to sugar cube corner.

Once we got there, we headed inside and Pinkey was there handing out orders. “Oh hay Twilight and Cadence, that can I do for you. “Oh hI pinkie We're just here to supply food for Flurry’s birthday party”, I said, Just then, Pinky then started to do her thing and jump up and down. Omg-can-I-plan-the-party-please”, Pinky said excitedly “We were just about to ask you that”, Twilight said. “So-that’s-a-yes”, Pinky said excitedly, “Yes it is”, I said letting out a giggle Pinky then got all crazy again, “I-need-to-plan-this-party-right-away”, Pinky said as she started to head upstairs.

“So can we get the food now”, Twilight said before Pinky zoomed downstairs. “OH Almost forgot that”, Pinky said as she turned around to get us the food, as we picked out the food and paid she went zooming upstairs. “Same old Pinky”, I said rolling before we left the store. “We should also head to sweet apple achers as well for more food”, Twilight said as we departed off to the farm. Once we got to the farm, we saw Applejack bucking some apple trees, “Oh hay there Sugarcubes”, Applejack said looking happy to see us.

“Hay Applejack”, Twilight said, “What can I do for yall”, Applejack said before hugging Twilight. “We need some food For Flurry’s birthday party, and we were wondering if we could take some apples for the party”, I said. “Well your in luck cause we have a ton of apples left over from cider season, I am happy to get yall some, especially for Flurry speaking of which how is that boyfriend of hers”, Applejack said, “He’s doing well after I let him stay in the empire”, I said, “Well al be darn, he sure seems like a nice fellow. Good on yall”, Applejack said, “He sure seems happy with being with Flurry. I haven’t seen her so happy not before her father passed”, I said, “It was a good call”, Applejack said, “Anyway I need to back to my chores right about now but I can deliver those apples in an in a few hours”, Applejack said.

. “Thank you Applejack”, Twilight said, “No need to thank me just helping out a friend”, Applejack said as we departed yet again. "Where to next”, I asked Twilight “We're all done with the decorations but we should invite Rainbow Dash to the party, Twilight said as we flew off to Cloudsdale. Once we got to the clouds, we went over to Rainbow Dashes.

We knocked on the door and she opened the door, “Oh hay guys”, Rainbow Dash said, “Hay Rainbow, we were wondering if you could come to Flurry’s birthday party tomorrow”, Twilight said with a smile on her face “Wouldn't miss it for the world, Do you need me to plan at all”, Rainbow Dash said, “Were all good from here”, I said. “Ok but I will definitely be there”, Rainbow Dash said as we left to visit the last stop for the day. We went over to Fluttershy’s cottage and knocked on the door. “Hello”, Fluttershy said. “Fluttershy it’s so good to see you again”, Twilight said, “It’s so good to see you as well”, Fluttershy said pulling Twilight and me into a hug. “We were wondering if you could come to Flurry’s birthday party tomorrow”, I said, “Oh my I would love to come”, Fluttershy said, “Great”, Twilight said. Just then, there was a loud crash inside the cottage. “Oh dear, I think Angel wants another carrot, Fluttershy said before turning away to check on Angel, “We will be on our way now”, I said as we left.

“That was the last of the stops for today”, Twilight said. “We better start decorating for tomorrow”, I said as we left for the train station and headed back to the crystal empire. Once we got back to the empire, we went into the ballroom to start setting up only to find Pinky was already setting up. “Pinky what are you doing”, Twilight said. “I’m just setting up for the party silly”, Pinky said. “The party is tomorrow”, Cadence said. “Plus how did you get here in such a short time”, Twilight said. “When there’s a party that needs me I come right away plus I got vinyl scratch to perform at the party Pinky said looking excited.

“How did you do all of this in only half an hour”, I said, “Come on twilight you out of anypony should know that do this all the time”, Pinky said before returning to setting up the party. “I will never understand that pony”, I said when Twilight put her hoof on me. “None of us do and I’ve known Pinky for a long time and she will get this party ready for tomorrow”, Twilight said. We then walked out of the ballroom to let Pinky do her thing. We also saw that Flurry and Zack were still practising Zack’s powers. “I imagine they still will practice until the sun goes down, " I said, laughing. “Even better, she will be focused on that so we don’t have to hide as much.

Just then, Flurry came up to us saying “Mom look at what me and Zack have been practicing” I nodded my head as Zack began to put on a firework show, and as the show went on a few ponies came out of there homes to watch the show as well

chapter 16: A New Plan

As I stepped out of the now shattered cage with pieces scattered on the floor I looked up at seeing Ark in front of me who was not aware that I broke free I was ready to take back control of my body I already knew that I was trapped in my brain and I knew I could do whatever I want in here, but I also know that I can’t beat ark in a fight I had to wait until he goes to sleep but as I waited I decided to watch what he was doing with my body

“Wow, Zack. That was amazing”, Flurry said as she hugged me. “Oh keep it coming, I was fired out there”, I said as the crowd started to cheer me on. “You want an encore hun”, I said as I used my powers again and the crowd went wild. And I got ready to start the show again. I saw from the corner of my eye that Cadence was looking at me with a concerned look on her face. I didn’t care as I kept on the thunder for the crowd cause they wanted more. Cadence and Flurry continued to watch. Flurry watched in amazement while Cadence was constantly concerned. But I didn’t care as the crowd wanted more and more. So that's what I gave them

. “Don’t you think Zack’s acting a little weird”, Cadence said. “I don’t notice anything at all”, Flurry said as she continued to watch the show. “Zack’s shy though. Something’s up”, I heard Cadence say. I went on to amaze the crowd with my skills. Not to mention the encore that the fans always demand. It went on like this for quite some time. Long after midnight but around that time I could feel Cadence getting more and more suspicious about me. I had a feeling she was on my trail. The only problem was getting her off of it, but I needed to be alone for that kind of thing. “Ok, I think that’s enough for tonight. Even changelings need their rest”, I said in a tired voice. The crowd did start to moan but they were getting tired as well and headed back home. The three of us were no exception. When we got in the castle, Flurry had to use the lady’s room so I headed to our bedroom

. “Well, that is just great. That buffoon is getting closer and closer. She of all ponies can’t know about this. Chrysalis was right to banish her at all. She is dumb but she is also smarter than I'd hoped. Now how to get her out of the picture? hmm, I got it, I know just what to do, and they will never see it coming. I could banish her to those mines again, maybe trap her in stone or even blast her to a faraway land, nevertheless, she can’t be here for much longer. I for one, can’t wait to watch it all unfold. Just then, I started to feel a bit tired, I fell to the bed and fell asleep as I started to feel something but ignored it as I kind of heard a door open but I was too tired to react to it.

(Zacks pov)

After Ark went to sleep I took back control of my body and when I woke up I realized that Flurry wasn’t in bed with me and I know something was off so I left the room and started to look for her, I decided to start looking for her in the royal garden, but when I arrived I found Flurry heart sitting on the bench crying I walked up to her saying “are you ok Flurry” Flurry turned to look at me surprised but once she realized it was me she said in a sad time “oh hey Zack” I sat down on the bench next to her asking in a concerned voice “are you ok” Flurry nodded with sadness still, I lifted Flurry’s face to look in her eyes “Flurry look into my eyes”

I said in a calm voice as I continued “We made a promise not to lie to each other I know something is bothering you I can see it in your eyes” Flurry took a deep breath and said “It’s just ever since I was a newborn, even though I’m a princess and all, I wanted a normal life even tho I am an alicorn and I always looked towards the future excited, but after my dad died, I started viewed change as a bad thing, then you came into my life and well, you’ve made me happier then I have ever been I just don’t want to lose you.

I love you there is no pony else that makes me happy in the same way you do. I just wish I could be a normal pony so we could be together without other ponies harassing you”, Flurry said in between sobs of tears. I hugged Flurry. “I understand Flurry but Your royalty and I'm a red moon changeling, but I will never leave you. I want to be with you through the highs and lows because I love you two and no pony can ever change that '', I said with a calm voice. Flurry then looked at me with a smile. “Thank you, Zack, I needed to hear that '', Flurry said as she kissed me before pulling me into a hug.

As we hugged for a long time things felt like everything was . . . normal for once. It was a rare feeling because nothing has really never felt normal since Cadence banished me. It felt like everything was right. It felt like the ending of an old mare’s tale even though it was far from over. But as we continued to hug we fell asleep in each other’s embrace, as we fell asleep on the bench Flurry wrapped her wings around me. It was like before when we were younger, only this time, it felt right. It felt like everything was falling into place. For once in my life, it was going the right way.

(Cadence POV)

As I was walking through the castle to get ready for bed I came across the royal garden seeing Flurry sleeping on the bench with her wing wrapped around Zack as walked towards them I saw that Flurry was smiling in her sleep, I haven’t seen Flurry like this since her father, I never realized how much means to her. Maybe I should keep my suspicions to myself, I thought. It wasn’t worth it to have all the drama repeat again just because of me. I knew Flurry would hate me again, Zack would despise me and chaos would break through. I couldn't bear all of that again. I then noticed a blanket near the bench. It was a colder night so I put the blanket on Flurry and Zack as they smiled through it.

She seemed to be happier with Zack I smiled as I carried both of them two them to their room. But as I walked it start to get harder to hold them Luckily I was able to put them on their bed before my magic gave out, after that, I left the room and went to my own room to go to sleep

(zacks pov)

As I opened my eyes I could see the morning sunlight coming through the window and right into my eyes. I didn’t feel like opening the curtains so I got up for the day. Just then, I thought of something. I felt like love towards Flurry. Well, I always loved her and all but this felt different like I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Never leaving her side at all and that’s when I knew I wanted to do what I should have done long ago.

Just then, I heard a knock on the door as Cadence came into the room. “Oh hay Cadence”, I said. “Good morning Zack, Could we talk for a quick second”, Cadence said “Sure”, I replied following her into the hallway. “I didn’t want to say it next to Flurry but I just wanted to say that I’m really sorry for everything that happened to you and her, I was a complete jerk and an overprotective mother until I realized I was hurting her instead of protecting her”, Cadence said. “It’s ok Cadence, I forgive you and I think flurry has too”, I said, trying to reassure her “I know but I just feel like a complete traitor to you and Flurry, I was so paranoid from my last few experiences with changelings in my past that I acted without proper consent”, Cadence said, “Your past can’t be undone and you had a right to be afraid of me and the safety of Flurry but we all forgive you in the end. Don’t ever forget that promise”, I said. “Promise”, Cadence said as hugged.

I then knew that she truly trusted me with Flurry. Sure I knew then but I felt like she knew in her heart that she trusted both of us, I wouldn't forget that. After our chat, I headed back to the room to see Flurry slowly waking up as we said good morning to each other. We then had breakfast and that’s when I started to begin my little... . project.

I went out to the nearby crystal caves and picked up a perfect-looking crystal. “Man Flurry is gonna love the crystal. It has her name written all over it”, I said. Then while I was exiting the caves when I noticed that there were some changeling rocks nearby. “That’s a little odd that there are changeling rocks here”, I said as I then noticed one of the rocks seemed to be a circle shape. This was what I was looking for so I picked it up. I headed back to the castle, staying clear of anypony that could see me. I wanted this little project to be a surprise to everypony. Letting just one know could go south very quickly. Flurry’s birthday was tonight so I had to hurry. As I was walking through the castle halls, I noticed that Cadence and Flurry were cleaning the west side of the castle.

Perfect for staying out of their way, I then went into a quiet room and began to work sitting down at one of the desks and placing down the materials, but when I looked over at the crystal I saw that it had something red in it like electricity then I remembered that I had power’s, I looked at the circle shaped rock, suddenly red sparkes started to for around is as it uncoupled and attached itself to the crystal “perfect” I said to my self before tucking the ring under my wing

Chapter 17: An Old Nightmare

I opened my eyes seeing Zack right beside me sleeping. The crack on his face glowing red again, but other than that he is he looks peaceful. It looked like any other day with him. We woke up, had breakfast, and then went outside, Zack then said something. “Hay Flurry, I have been learning my powers and I want to show you what I can do now”, Zack said with a little bit of confidence in his voice. I turned and gave Zack a smile “Sure”, I said in a cheerful voice. As we were walking to the field from the other day, I kept noticing that Zack wasn’t himself. He was more confident instead of shy. It was like he was a completely different changeling, but I shrugged it off as I thought he had gotten more confident with the arrival of his new abilities.

We went to the field where Zack told me to stand back. He then started off with a firework show with his hooves as he was able to cast more lights this time and there were more of them. He then stopped the ground for some reason suddenly the ground began to shake, next thing I knew big spikes came out of the ground that looked to be made of changeling rock. Next, he got out a few buckets of water and this was when some ponies then came to watch Zack. He picked up the water with his magic again and then started to use it like to create a water ring, using it to splash some ponies and using it to create a cover.

Lastly, he was also able to run around the field in less than a second. By this point, half of the empire was watching Zack as they started to cheer him on. “Zack, Zack Zack”, is what they were cheering for a while. Zack seemed to like this attention as he was impressing the crowd not acting like himself at all. I knew now that something was up so when he left the field for a break, I went up to him. “Zack, what in Celestia has gotten into you? How could you be so shy yesterday but confident today”, I asked Zack in an annoyed voice. I won’t forget the look in Zack’s eyes as he looked at me as if i had figured it out. “Very well, I think it’s time... that you knew”, Zack said. He then raised his hoof, and the empire started to vanish.

The castle, the ponies, everything was disappearing as it was me and Zack in an empty void. “What is this? Who are you and what have you done with Zack”, I said to whom I thought was Zack. “You really think that I, I am that wanna-be? Wow, you are so stupid. I am not your lovey, perfect Zack, I am Ark”, Ark said with a smile on his face. “How long have you pretended to be Zack”, I said. “After that pitiful shockwave that carried me, I was hit in the head by a pillar which locked me away as someone else took my place. “Zack”, I said with a hint of fear in my voice “Exactly, that imposter took everything from me, but then the race happened and then I was set free,” Ark said with a menacing licking his lips before whispering in my ear “and how can I forget the part where kissed me” I eye opened wide before feeling my legs shack with fear. “You take that back”, I said trying to stand my ground“I won’t”, Ark said. “After all, you know who I am”, Ark said. “I do”, I said.

“Do I have to spell it out for you? I attacked you multiple times, I had a red glowing crack on the left side of my face, I got you then you woke up”, Ark said. After what he said, it struck me. Ark was the changeling in my dream all those years ago. I had known about him and I didn't put two and two together. “What do you want from me”, I said. “Nothing . . . but your love”, Ark said giving a sinister smile. “What, no my heart belongs to Zack”, I said with a loud voice. “You just don’t know what you're talking about. How about I show you both ways the story could go”, Ark said. “What are you talking about”, I said looking at him suspiciously “Imagine this”, Ark said as he used his hoof and we were in a hallway of the castle. “Open the door”, Ark said as I opened the door to see Ark in a fancy suit and me in a long, white wedding dress.

Cadence, Twilight, and the rest of the main six were also there as Celestia was upfront. “By the power invested in me, i now pronounce you two husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride”, Celestia said as me and Ark kissed. “This isn’t true, I would never marry you”, I said. Ark said nothing as we then teleported to a balcony where the crystal ponies were walking about with a smile on their face. They looked happier than I had ever seen them. “With our marriage, we gave all the ponies a happy life, free of evil, just a peaceful life. “Why should I believe this”, I said. “I suppose you need to see the other side of the coin”, Ark said as he then teleported us back into the castle where I saw myself and Zack arguing. “Here, after you get engaged, you and Zack start to fight a lot. Zack then leaves to go back to the hive as your left alone”, Ark said as he then teleported us outside again to see everypony fighting and hating each other. “With you feeling heartbreak, you don’t know how to lead a kingdom, everypony starts to hate each other”, Ark said with a frown on his face. Just then, the clouds started to get grey as snowflakes start to fall. “Snowflakes, we don’t get snow here”, I said looking around confused.

Just then, I heard a roar as I saw a windigos appear out of the sky as two more followed after. “Windegos”, I said. “Unfortunately, yes, this is what happens when everypony hates each other”, Ark said. “I don’t believe this, I don’t trust you”, I said my eyes filled with tears “Flurry please understand, I don’t want to hurt you I want you to be as happy as you can be and I know that we can,” ark said trying to pull me into a hug I struggled for a bit trying to push him away but it was no use and I fell into his arms crying, ark began to stroke my hair as he said “flurry, I understand what you are feeling, but i can be your soulmate, I can give you everything you want, just please sa-” my eyes shot open as I pushed my self out of arks hooves, “you spelled me”, I said as i jumped out of his hooves. “If I wanted to put a spell on you, I would have done that as soon as i saw you first. Please Flurry Heart, Princess of the Crystal Empire, can you just give me a chance”, Ark said as his eyes turned a little watery. “I’m sorry but my heart belongs with Zack.

No pony no creature else could change my mind about that”, I said as I ran from Ark. “fine I tried to be nice, but since you rather have that pathetic fool, I might as well torture you as long as your here” suddenly I heard a lower voice “I think not” as luna appeared she fired a blast at ark turning him into black smoke “you win today Flurry, but this will not be the last time we meet sooner or later you are going to wish you chose me, oh and before I forget. Happy birthday” Ark said giving a hollow chuckle, Luna yelled at Ark “Leave thow alone”, Luna said but Ark didn’t step down. “Why does every single pony in this entire land always have to meddle with my plans”, Ark said. “Because we know and stand up for what is right”, Luna said as she fired a laser at Ark but he dogged it. Ark then fired another, bigger laser at Luna but Luna fired a counter laser. The two remained like this for quite some time. And then I saw this as my chance to run and run I did.

I kept running and running, didn’t even look back once. Shortly I managed to get to the train station and hopped on the first train to Ponyville. I was scared out of my mind. But I knew there was one other pony that she could trust still. I know that this was all but a dream but I couldn't get out of it so I had to flee. The train got to Ponyville and I ran through the town to Twilight’s castle. I knocked on the door and Twilight answered. “Oh hay Flurry, what are you doing here”, Twilight said. “Ark and . . . Luna . . . . fighting . . . need shelter”, I said catching my breath. “What”, Twilight said. “This is a dream and I need help as to get out of it”, I said. “I think I might know how to help but I will need assistance for it. I then followed Twilight into the castle as Starlight was reading a book in the throne room. “Hay Flurry. What brings you here”, Starlight said. “We're looking for a way to get Flurry out of a dream”, Twilight said. “Have you tried waking up”, Starlight said. “I’m still here”, I said. “Have you tried waking up magically”, Starlight said. “That might work”, Twilight said. Just then, I heard the doors open as somepony stepped into the room that I knew as Ark entered the room.

But I heard Twilight say “Oh hello Zack, Flurry is right upstairs”. I thought she said that Zack was in the castle so I ran back to the room where Zack was and then hugged him. “Oh I missed you Zack, I have quite the news to tell you”, I said. “That Ark tried to turn you against me”, Zack said. “Wait how do you know that”, I said as I stepped back. “Wow, you are so gullible”, Ark said. “I tried the easy way and that didn’t work. If you won’t love me, then let's see how you do without your little changeling buddy”, Ark said. “I won’t let you do that this time”, Flurry said. “That’s what they all say, little do they know that i already did it. After all, how can you tell if it’s Zack or me”, Ark said with a grin on his face. “I... I don’t know”, I said. “What i thought of you”, Ark said. Just then, Luna burst through the doors, catching her breath. “Looks like we have company again”, Ark said. “Why you are fast”, Luna said. “Until next time”, Ark said as he and Luna continued to battle. Luna then saw her chance and turned Ark into a puff of black smoke again. Before he disappeared suddenly red sparks started to come out of a wall before Zack appeared there, “Flurry” Zack said as he ran towards me, Luna fire a blast towards Zack, but I used my magic to protect him,

Luna calm down this is just Zack, I said as she slowed her magic. “Really? Then how did you two first meet,” Luna said. “I fell in a rosebush, ran past some guards, and ended up in Flurry’s bedroom. It’s a day I can never forget,” Zack said. “Ok, so you're not that monster than”, Luna said. “I think I know who you're talking about”, Zack said. “How do we stop this Ark from coming back”, I said. “I think you two will want to talk about it soon. The sun is almost up anyway and I need to sleep for the next night, also Happy birthday Flurry”, Luna said as we said goodbye and she headed out. I finally was able to wake up from that nightmare seeing Zack in front of me. “Zack”, I said. “I glad to see your ok”, Zack said looking a bit relieved.

“I am just glad that the nightmare is over”, I said getting back onto my hooves. “What’s the matter”, Zack said. “We have a lot to talk about”, I said. “I know where this is going”, Zack said. “So this Ark figure took over you since you were in the hospital”, I said. “Yes. He confronted me most likely the same way he did to you, we had a battle, he won and took my body. I was stuck in a little cage with nothing to do when that cage broke and I was able to break free and take back my body. I was able to comfort you when you were out in the garden. That was me talking. Then we went to sleep and Ark reviled himself to you”, Zack said. “I can’t believe that”, I said. “If I heard right, he wants you for something”, Zack said. “He likes me to, and wants me by his side”, I said. “Well then, if I didn’t hate him before, I hate him now, Zack said. “I think we should keep this between us for now. Who knows what he could be planning next”, I said. “True. Let's just make this day your 18th birthday”, Zack said. “I agree”, I said as we got out of bed

Chapter 18: The Big Day

When I opened my eyes I saw two mannequins, one with a suit and one with a dress. I looked back over to Flurry seeing that she was still asleep. I kissed her on her head before I carefully unwrapped myself from Flurry's wing. I got out of our bed as I stretched my legs and walked over to the suit placing a hoof on it, suddenly I saw a piece of paper fall out of one of the sleeves in the suit. I quietly picked up the letter and put it on a nearby table. I read it out loud but in a quiet voice. “Dear Zack, I hope this letter finds you well, I know about how you are planning to propose to Flurry on her 18th birthday.

Don’t worry, I didn’t tell any other pony about this though. I just wanted to let you know that I support you in this. I know there’s nothing more important in this world than family and I know Flurry is the only family you know. I promise, your secret’s safe with me. From "Twilight Sparkle”, I looked down at the letter. I was a little worried at first but then calmed myself down as I knew Twilight would keep this all a secret for now. Just then, I turned around to see Flurry as she was starting to move very quickly in her sleep. It looked like she was worried and panicked. I quickly ran to her as I felt her pulse.

She was still fine but worried. I naturally assumed she was having a nightmare so I used a bit of magic and headed inside of her dream. Once I was inside, I saw that I was in Twilight’s castle. I then saw Flurry as she looked very much in distress. “Flurry”, I said before rushing over to her. Just then, I saw Luna as she blasted a magical laser at me but Flurry blocked the attack. “Luna, calm down, this is just Zack my boyfriend”, Flurry said as Luna lowered her horn. Flurry and Luna then talked back and forth before we both woke up. “Zack, I’m glad to see you're ok”, Flurry said, We talked for a while about the dream, and a little about Ark but after some time we decided to forget about what happened, for now, it was her 18th birthday. She doesn’t need to worry about anything today, she should focus on herself because for today it was all about her

Flurry smiled, giving me a kiss on the forehead before staring at the dress that was on the other mannequin, Flurry got out of bed to look at the dress, her eyes reflecting the sparkles that came from the small crystals, Flurry looked over and saw a gift with a letter on top. Flurry picked up a letter and she read it out loud “Happy birthday Flurry, I am sad to say that I won’t be able to make it to your party, but I wanted to do something special so I made this dress as well as get you a little gift hope you enjoy, with a lot of love rarity” Flurry said, “That was very nice of her”, Zack said, “I really do love this dress, She is good at what she does”, Flurry said, “Just then, Flurry's stomach started to growl. “I think we should get some breakfast”, Flurry said as we headed to the kitchen.

We then had some breakfast and headed out to the field where I practised my powers some more and then when the evening came around, we came back to our room and got ready. I changed into the suit that Rarity had left and Flurry changed into her dress. As I put the suit on, I looked at myself in the mirror. “Man, I look dashing in this," I said, But as I was looking at myself in the mirror I realized that there was something in my pocket, I reached in and pulled out a small red box. Releasing that this was for the ring I quickly put the ring that was under my wing in the box before putting it back in my pocket. Flurry walked out of the bathroom in her dress as well as some makeup. I could feel my heart beating at ridiculously fast speeds as my jaw dropped. Flurry blushed, noticing my reaction to her “So how do I look”, Flurry said, “There’s no word that could describe how beautiful you look right now”, I said, unable to take my red eyes off of her. “Well you look more handsome than the day I fell in love with you”, Flurry said, “Yeah, yeah”, I said as we headed downstairs.

We headed into the living room to see Cadence in a dress as she was waiting for us. Cadence then seeing us started to tear up a bit. “You're crying again, Mom”, Flurry said, “It’s just that I remember when you were smaller than me and now you're the same height, it just makes me happy to see my daughter becoming a full-grown mare”, Cadence said, “Thanks, Mom”, I said, “I guess I have grown a lot in 18 years”, Flurry said, “Are you two ready”, Cadence said, “I think we are”, I said as Cadence opened the door to the ballroom.

After I changed my form to look like a pony, The three of us headed inside to see Pinkey already there. “How do you get here so fast?”, Flurry said, “My pinky sense is silly”, Pinky said, After a few minutes, a few other ponies arrived such as Twilight, Starlight and Rainbow Dash. “Hey, Zack, hey Flurry”, Twilight said as she hugged the both of us. “Happy 18th Flurry”, Starlight said as she hugged Flurry. “Happy birthday also”, Dash said, “Good to see you again Dash”, I said, “Hey Zack, sorry for the whole race thing a few weeks back”, Dash said, “Don’t worry about it, some interesting things happened because of it, but I can fill you in later”, I said, As we both hugged each other. After some time, Twilight pulled me aside. “So are you planning to do what I think you're gonna do today”, Twilight said. “Yes”, I said, “I’m going to wait until she opens presents,” I said, keeping my voice down so the Flurry wouldn’t be able to overhear. “Good idea”, Twilight said,

We headed back to see more ponies entering. I saw a lime pony enter with a tan pony with a blue and pink main and a grey pony with a yellow main. This was gonna be a fun time, to say the least. Around this time, Vinyl Scratch then started up the music for the party. As we all started to enjoy ourselves. Shortly after She played a softer tune and I saw some ponies start to dance. I then got an idea as I walked over to Flurry. “Flurry would care to dance”, I said with a smile forming on my face. “I would love to”, Flurry said, as we headed to the dance floor. We then slowly danced together as we did the tango. Some ponies looked at us but it didn’t matter, I was loving this night already, and we only were there for around a half-hour. It was so magical already.

A little later we took a break to grab a bite, as we were both a bit worn out from dancing. Flurry then went over to talk to Twilight as I went to the table with the food. I took one of the muffins there and found a spot to sit at. I then noticed another pony then sat next to me. “So how is the party?”, I said looking at the pony “It’s good”, the pony said before continuing. “Name’s Kuno, what's yours?”, Kuno said, “You can call me Zack”, I said, giving a small smile. “Are you a friend of Cadence?”, I asked. “No, we were invited here”, Kuno said, “We then decided to come because if we were invited to a royal birthday, we would want to go to that”, Warden said, “That is rather true I suppose. I would have done the same thing as well”, Flurry said, We talked for a little bit before Kuno had to go to the little filly's room. Meanwhile, I saw Flurry talking to Cadence, as Flurry dropped her plate as another pony then caught it, they interacted for some time then he left. Kuno then came back as we talked but she had to leave as well. We said goodbye and she left with the other pony. Just then, Vinyl said over the speakers that this next song was a couples song. Me and Flurry then exchanged looks as we headed to the dance floor.

Once we joined the dance floor other ponies started to join as well as Kuno with a different pony that seemed to be limping. Suddenly an upbeat song started to play. Me and Flurry then danced to the song for a while. I was having so much fun up there on the floor and I can see Flurry was also having a great time. Even then, I couldn't wait until the opening of the presents to execute my little plan. I could already picture it now. We danced for what felt like forever then after the last song, it was time for the cake. We gathered around a table as the chiefs brought out a triple-layered, white-coloured cake with blue and pink frosting. On the top, “Happy Birthday Flurry" was written in frosting. We then sang happy birthday to Flurry before she blew out her candles and we had some cake. Then it was time, time for the presents … and my little plan.

The music turned off as Flurry got on the stage, moving the hair from out of her face before saying “Thank you everypony for coming for my 18th birthday it means a lot to me that you would take the time for your life just to see me turn 18” Flurry heart stopped before handing off the mic back to vinyl before she ponies started to line up in front of her to give her their gifts, she got some books from a few ponies including Twilight when I saw Kuno go up she gave her a box and Flurry opened it before closing it before her cheeks start to turn red, there was even one where she got a gift and when she opened it there was a box that said on the box “personal stress releaser” Flurry put the box up to here ear before her entire face turned red, she also got jewellery a crown that she put on immediately and some makeup.

Finally, it was my turn. I was the only one left on the stage, and I could feel everypony watching me, I felt my heart race, and I took a deep breath before looking into Flurry's eyes as she said, “What did you get me, Zack?” I replied with a smile on my face before dropping my disguise. At that moment I heard everypony gasp as Flurry came walking up to me and said “Zack what are you doing.” I opened my mouth, ready to tell her how I felt. On the first day, we became instant friends. I loved every moment we had with each other and before I knew it I started to fall in love with you, and you did as well. every day after that it was perfect and I know we can be happy as long as we are together” I got down on one knee pulling out the little red box from my pocket, Flurry gasped covering her mouth with a hoof, “Zack… are you” I smiled as I looked up at her “Flurry heart this may seem like an odd question coming from me but… will you marry me?” Flurry's heart's eyes opened in shock, as she took a step back in shock and everypony in the room gasped before everything went silent.

A Few seconds passed and I saw tears start to form in Flurry’s eyes before she said in a soft voice, “Yes” I looked up at Flurry my eyes going wide before she ran to me and hugged me as she continued this time her voice a bit louder “yes Zack I will marry you”, Flurry said with a very happy voice. The crowd erupted into cheers after Flurry agreed to Marry me. I didn’t expect the reaction that the crowd gave but I have to say, I was enjoying it. It was nice to know that Pony’s appreciated me despite my race and all. It felt like the night was lasting for hours and hours. When the crowd settled down, I and Flurry walked off the stage to see Kuno and the other pony from before. “Congratulations you two, you seem very happy together”, Kuno said, “I think you’ll make a great royal couple. Name’s Warden if I didn’t say it already”, Warden said, “Why to thank you two”, Flurry said, “It’s great to meet you two”, I said as we shook hoofs. “I never thought a pony and a changeling would love each other this much”, Kuno said, “You would be surprised”, I said, “Also because of curiosity, how long have you known each other?”, Kuno said, “Since as long as I can remember really”, I said, Just then, right after I said that Kuno suddenly asked if she could speak to me in private.

We went over to an area where not many ponies were. “I just wanted to speak changeling to changeling for a moment”, Kuno said, “what”, I said, not understanding. Suddenly Kuno dropped her form revealing that she was a changeling “Throughout my entire life, I thought, I was the one and only changeling that ever fell in love, It’s good to know that I’m not alone here”, Kuno said, “Well I was separated from Flurry a ton of times because I was a changeling, I thought I was the only one as well. It is good to know that we're not alone I guess”, I said, “Very agreeable and nice to hear that from our kind”, Kuno said, Also i was wondering how did you and Flurry meet each other in the first place”, Kuno asked me.

“Well that is a long story but I was blasted away from my hive and landed in the crystal empire. I heard some guards coming and I ran into Flurry when she was a baby and I stayed in her room for a couple of years until Cadence came along and a whole lot happened there and that’s what you need to know”, I said, “It does sound complicated”, Kuno said, “You have no idea”, I said, We continued to talk for a little bit before we headed back out to see Flurry and Warden talking. We reunited with Warden and Kuno. “Hey I don’t think I mention it yet but why did you come here”, I said purely out of curiosity. “Oh we were told to come here by somepony who we didn’t catch her name though.” Interesting”, I said, “Speaking of, how did you two meet in the first place”, Flurry said, “Oh that was a great story. We meet during the changeling invasion on Canterlot. I was a royal guard at the time and I was defending the city when I saw Kuno lying there on the ground, not moving. I took her in and healed her. When she woke up, she tried to attack me but she saw that I was welcoming and caring so she didn’t kill me and after some time, we started dating and here we are”, Warden said, “That’s pretty interesting”, I said, “It was different at first but we realized that we were made for each other”, Kuno said, “Just like us”, Flurry said to me. “Oh you're gonna make me blush”, I said, and we talked some more after that.

As we continued to talk, I noticed a small bit of magic swirling around Warden and then I realized it was changeling magic so I confronted Kuno about using a love spell, Kuno then tried to deny it but I said that I had done the same thing to Flurry. Flurry didn’t seem fazed by it but Warden was very mad by it. Kuno then explained why she put a spell on him. Warden was still pretty upset but he calmed himself and the two made up. I then remembered that Warden Lag was injured so I asked “Hay Warden, if you don’t mind me asking what happened to your hoof” Warden looked down at his hoof before replying “I got my hoof and wing broken during a fight” I looked at Wardens broken wing before asking if I could have a look at it, he nodded his head before stretching his wing out biting his bottom lip in pain. I stepped closer to Warden's wing before looking at it. I knew that I could heal my own body using my power, but I wondered if I could use it to heal others. Curious, I decided to give it a try so I put my hoof on it.

After flinching in pain, I closed my eyes, letting my power flow through his wings. When I opened my eyes, Warden looked shocked as he said “You fixed… '' my wing” No problem just remember even if she uses a spell on you that does not mean she doesn't love you, Warden looked back at Kuno and smiled “your right Zack” he said rubbing my head with his hoof we continued to talk until Kuno and Warden had to head back home and so they made their exit after we said our goodbyes. Just then, Cadence came up to the two of us.

“I’m so happy for you two”, Cadence said as she had a tissue in her hoof and was wiping her tears from her face. “Thanks, Mom”, Flurry said, “I had no idea that you were planning to propose”, Cadence said to me. “Well I wanted it to be a surprise so I had to keep it a secret”, I said, “You two are very happy together”, Cadence said, “Thanks again”, Me and Flurry said, Just then, Twilight and her friends then came behind Cadence. “We're so happy for you both”, Twilight said, “You're gonna make me blush”, I said, feeling my face heat up. I then noticed that Pinky had a huge smile on her face. Just then, the top of her head exploded into confetti. “Im-so-happy-for-you-two-please-let-me-plan-your-wedding-as-well-please-i’m-so-excited”, Pinky said as it was hard to hear her as she didn’t stop for a second. “I think what she's trying to say is that she wants to help plan the wedding”, Rainbow Dash said unamused.

“Yes-that-is-what-im-saying”, Pinky said while she was still very excited. “I think we can open up a slot”, Flurry said with a smile. Pinky then exploited into a pile of glitter and confetti as she was running around. “This is normal for her, right”, I said looking at Pinkie confused. “You have no idea”, Twilight said, Just then, the clocks struck midnight already. “Well I’m gonna have to make my leave now, Happy birthday Flurry”, Twilight said as she hugged Flurry and left. Shortly after, a few more guests left and me and Flurry left as Cadence continued to hang out with the guests that remained. We were both a bit tired out for the night so we headed straight to our room. Once we got to our room, Flurry then headed to our balcony, overlooking the empire.

“Zack” Flurry said turning to me, I replied “Yes Flurry” Flurry took a deep breath before asking me “Please don’t take this the wrong way, b...but I need to know. Do you love me” I looked at Flurry shocked and confused by the question “Of course, I do Flurry why would you think I didn-” Flurry put a hoof up interrupting me “Just answer the question Zack I want to know how you really feel about me” after she said that she lowered her hoof as she looked at me

I sighed before answering her question “I do love you Flurry. I have cared for you for so many years, and the only times when I am happy is when I am with you, I couldn't even imagine how my life would go if I had never met”.

I picked up one of Flurry’s hoofs before continuing “So to answer your question, yes I love you and I wouldn’t trade you for anything” Flurry let out a small laugh before I saw tears coming down here check, I kneeled down to look in her eyes ``woah hey, it's ok, what the matter” Flurry replied to me in between sobs“Zack I… I love you too, and I don’t want to lose you” I pulled Flurry into a hug as I said, “Flurry you're never going to lose me” Flurry then pushed me away from her as she said “Zack I want to believe you but I don’t know if I do love or if it is the stupid spell you put on me” Flurry then looked at me tears still in her eyes “remove it Zack'' I looked at Flurry a little shocked by her request “what” Flurry replied to me this time in a more direct tone “Zack I love you and it hurts me to say this, b...but I need to know if I love you. I want to love you, you have made me happy through every stage of my life, and no matter what happens you have always stayed right beside me. But if I am going to marry you, I need to know the truth… I… I ne… I need you to remove the spell '' I tried to reach out to Flurry trying to calm her down.

Suddenly Flurry smacked me hoofing away her face full of tears at this point “Zack, please… I need to know'', Flurry said, “I don’t know if I can. I don’t know how to live with myself if you don’t end up loving me after all”, I said almost in tears. “ Zack please this is hurting me as much as it is hurting you, I still love you but I need to know please just remove it”, Flurry said, “Ok…I will remove the spell”, I said, I then got into position and got my horn ready as all the memories of me and Flurry then entered my head. I didn’t know what was going to happen but I knew I had to do this. I then removed the spell. As I began to lift the spell, Flurry closed her eyes. “The spell is removed”, I said, “I feel weird like something was taken out of me”, Flurry said, “Are you ok”, I said, “I’m fine I guess”, Flurry said, “How do you feel?”, I said, Flurry stood there in silence as she looked at me. When she looked at me, I could see her eyes looking pale but after a few seconds, her eyes then lit up. Flurry then ran over and hugged me. “It’s like I fell in love with you all over again," Flurry said, “I’m just happy”, I said as we continued to hug. I was just glad that Flurry still loved me and I was happy because I couldn't imagine a world where she didn’t love me. After a while, we stopped hugging each other and got ready for the night. While I was getting ready to go to sleep, I saw Flurry on our balcony.

“You ok Flurry”, I said as I headed over to her. “Yeah”, Flurry said in a calm voice. “Then why are you out here”, I said, “I don’t know I just feel like something is going to go wrong” time of Flurry asking Zack to remove the spell)

I looked at Flurry confused “What do you mean” Flurry rolled her eyes "I don’t know maybe I just thought something was, this day has gone perfectly every time something happens that goes perfectly something goes wrong” I gave Flurry a kiss on the cheek about to say something but I was interrupted with from sirens Flurry let out a small giggle before she said “called it” looking at the ambulance, but she smiled faded as she saw it head the castle. “I worry that something would happen and it did happen”, Flurry said, “Don’t worry about it, Flurry. If somepony was hurt, I think we would know by now”, I said, “I think we should still check though”, Flurry said, “I think we should”, I said as the two of us then rushed downstairs as fast as we could. We got to where the ambulance was and we both gasped in shock as to who it was.

Chapter 20 Cadence's Revelation part two

After we all arrived at the hospital with Misted unconscious, once inside, the medics rushed her into one of the rooms, accompanied by a few doctors. A few anxious minutes passed before the doctors emerged, letting out a collective sigh of relief. I placed a hoof on my chest and approached the lead doctor.

"Tell me she's okay, Doctor," I implored. The doctor looked up at me with a small, reassuring smile, "Don't worry, Cadence. We were able to stabilize her, but she has fallen into a coma."

Worry quickly washed over my face as I realized the gravity of the situation. I couldn't help but blame myself; this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been so paranoid. "Can we see her?" I asked the doctor, desperately wanting to be by Misted's side. The doctor nodded, granting me access to Misted's room, saying, "Of course, Princess."

I smiled at the doctor as I entered the room, with Zack and Flurry following closely behind. As we stepped inside, we were greeted by the sight of Misted still unconscious on the bed, her eyes closed, and her body connected to various machines to sustain her.

There was a mix of emotions within me. On one hand, I felt relieved to see her alive, knowing that she was still with us. But on the other hand, a pang of sadness tugged at my heart, as I couldn't shake the guilt that I had played a role in Misted's current condition. However, I knew that I needed to set my guilt aside for the moment.

I approached the side of Misted's bed and gently placed a hoof on her. "Misted," I spoke softly, hoping that the sound of my voice might bring her back to consciousness. Much to my dismay, she remained unconscious, and the worry in the room deepened.

Without me noticing zack put a hoof on my shoulder “I think she might be out for a while”, i flinched at the contact but his soft tone seemed to help calm me down. “Yeah. At least she’s still alive”, the three of us took a seat in the room.

A few minutes of silence hung in the air, becoming somewhat uncomfortable. Finally, I decided to break it, turning my attention to Zack. "So, Zack," I began, "I've been meaning to ask you, what are your plans for the near future?"

Zack seemed slightly surprised by the question, and he took a moment to contemplate his answer. He tapped his front hoof against his chin before responding, "Well, I haven't really thought about it much." He then glanced over at Flurry, who was sitting beside him, starting to drift off to sleep. Zack continued, "All I know is that I just want to be with her, to make her happy." A soft, affectionate smile crossed his face as he leaned in to plant a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Listening to Zack's heartfelt answer, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. I was well aware that Zack and Flurry were scheduled to be married in less than a month. There was something about his words that felt genuine, but I couldn't shake the underlying discomfort I felt about my daughter marrying a changeling.

"Well... now's a great time to start planning," I replied, my tone encouraging. "Trust me, you don't want to have no plan after a marriage. I can speak from some experience."

Zack seemed genuinely interested and inquired, "Oh really? I assumed you had everything sorted out after your marriage."

A wry smile formed on my lips, though it felt forced. "I guess you could say we did, before the Crystal Empire came along, and things took a very, very sharp turn." I nearly forced out a laugh, the memories of those turbulent times still vivid in my mind.

“

Zack listened to my story, and I could see genuine concern in his eyes as he said, "That must have been a difficult situation, to go from just being married to the princess of an entire empire. I don't think I could handle something like that."

I couldn't help but smile and playfully roll my eyes at his comment. "Yeah, it was tough, but we got through it after a while. And then came Flurry, which was yet another challenge," I said with a giggle, recalling how much of a handful Flurry Heart could be. Memories of Shining Armor, who meant the world to me, started flooding back. From the Crystal Games to the Crystaling, he was a significant part of my life he was everythingto me.

Zack tried to lighten the mood by saying, "Having to be a princess in front of all those ponies and be a mother at home must have been something." It was an attempt to shift the conversation away from the somber memories.

I nodded in agreement and replied, "Yeah, it was. And then when Shining passed away, it was my breaking point, and I went to a very dark place." The memories of losing Shining Armor and the immense grief that followed were still painful to recall. "I don't even remember a night when I didn't cry in my sleep, knowing that my husband was gone."

Zack moved closer and offered comforting words. "That must have been one of the hardest things you ever had to deal with." He walked over and sat down on the floor in the center of the room.

I looked at him, and a faint smile crossed my face as I acknowledged, "You're right. It was incredibly tough. But then, being a single mom was even harder than I could imagine."

Zack spoke softly, "Well, there's a first time for everything, right? Even dealing with death is a first time." His words had a soothing effect, and I found myself joining him on the floor.

I continued, "Your assessment is spot on. It was no walk in the park at first, but as Flurry aged, it got easier as time went by, until you showed up that fateful day." I put emphasis on the last part of my statement, reminding Zack of the significant impact he had on my life.

Zack remained silent for a moment, processing our shared journey. "And I'm pretty sure you know the rest," I added with a hint of nostalgia in my tone.

“Yeah. I guess you could say what goes around comes around”, Zack said as he let out a little laugh smirking over his own joke. “Yeah”, I said as Zack then asked me something that i don’t think any pony has ever asked me before. “Do you regret anything about the past”,

Zack's unexpected question stirred something within me, and I found myself speaking my truth. "Not being there for Flurry after Shining died," I admitted with a hint of guilt. "We were both in a state far beyond pain, heartbreak, and sadness. I was so focused on myself and the Crystal Empire that I overlooked Flurry, to the point where I don't think I could fix it. Having you enter the picture back then didn't help matters, not that it was completely your fault."

Zack listened intently as I shared my thoughts. "I don't even want to imagine how things must have been. How far you two grew apart," he began to say.

I didn't let him finish, feeling that his perspective mattered. "I know it's not exactly my place, but—" Zack started.

"You're going to be family soon, even though I might not approve, and you may not have been there, but I think you can have an opinion on it all," I interrupted. It was a candid moment, and Zack acknowledged my point with a nod and a soft smile.

"I guess I just wanted a better relationship with Flurry, but I guess I held her so close that I pushed her away," I confessed, a tear rolling down my cheek. The weight of my past actions weighed on me.

Zack stood silent for a moment before offering his perspective. "You were dealing with a lot. I may not know all the details, but I think you just needed to talk to her. I mean, look how far she has come ever since I came into the picture. She has grown far beyond that little filly she once was. Maybe if you just talk to her, you can see just how great communication can be. Just talking to one another can lead to a better relationship. But I think you, of all ponies, should know that, at least."

Even when i did, i never asked her about her life such as school or even if she made any friends or anything like that. I was just focused on me, me, me and not even once did i say the words like ‘how are you doing flurry’ or ‘how is school flurry’ i was just so caught up with my self.

"I just wish I could click a button and redo everything I messed up on," I said, tears flowing down my eyes. "To fix being the worst mother ever and breaking me and Flurry's relationship over the years. To fix everything and live the life I thought we would get to live," I confessed, feeling like I had failed as a mother.

Zack offered comfort as he spoke words that I had needed to hear for a long time. "Like I said before, I don't have all the details, but I know that you just have to move forward. You messed up. We all do. It's a part of living and being a leader, but a great leader knows when they messed up and has the courage to make it right. You just have to move past the mistakes you made and make things right once again. It's not too late. Things are improving between you two; all you have to do is make an effort to help your relationship."

Zack's words brought me a sense of relief, and I wiped away my tears. "Yeah, you're right," I agreed.

Zack continued with his wise advice, saying, "You just have to spread your wings, and you'll be surprised at what that can do." His words resonated with me, and I replied, feeling better about myself, "Wise words. You really do make a great role model."

Zack blushed a bit at the compliment but modestly responded, "I just have my way with words. Somehow, I'm able to make someone feel better even without the full story."

A few more minutes passed as Zack and I continued to converse. In that moment, I began to question my initial doubts about Zack. Maybe, just maybe, he was telling the truth. I took a deep breath, ready to apologize to Zack for my earlier suspicions.

But before I could utter a word, Misted interrupted us. She slowly opened her eyes and weakly uttered, "Ca... Cadence." My heart skipped a beat as I rushed to her bedside, taking one of her hooves in mine.

"Misted, are... are you okay?" I asked with genuine concern. Misted managed to nod weakly in response, and I couldn't help but let out a relieved sigh. Knowing that my dear friend was going to pull through filled me with gratitude. I couldn't contain the words that spilled from my heart, "You had me so worried."

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I continued, "I thought you were gone..." The emotions of the moment had me on the verge of breaking down. Misted, with her gentle smile, placed a reassuring hoof on my shoulder and replied, "I thought I was too... but it seemed that fate had other plans." She coughed weakly, a reminder of her fragile condition.

Unable to contain my relief, I pulled Misted into a careful hug, mindful of the cords connected to her. "I'm just glad you're alright," I whispered, my voice quivering with a mix of joy and gratitude. Misted returned the hug, and for a few precious moments, we held onto each other, finding solace in the simple act of being together.

After a while, Zack and Flurry decided to return to the castle to get some much-needed rest. Misted's worried expression as they left didn't go unnoticed, and the room became quieter, with a sense of unease lingering in the air, zack and flurry were far enough away she turned to me

“Cadence” she said in a panicked voice “yes misted” “I think you want to know what i saw back there”, i quick shook my head. “No no now is not the time for that. You need to rest, we can talk about what you saw later”, I said trying to be calm and what not. “I think it relates to this Zack you mentioned”, my eyes flew pen as i looked around before leaning in to her “what did you find,”, I said as i got a little interested. “I wasn’t able to get much before i was attacked but whatever he is, he is nothing but darkness”, Misted said still in her weakened voice.

“What…What are you even talking about”, I said as i started to press for more. I was almosted tricked. “Please, you needed to hear me out. I saw that figure in my mind and he was definitely evil and nothing but darkness. I tried to run from it but it got me and landed me here on this bed”, I don’t believe it. How could he? And after a very open ended conversation as well. That traitor”, I said with anger riseing in my chest. “Please, find out what that thing is planning”, Misted said with pleading eyes. “Oh i will and he will never see it coming”

Chapter 19: Cadence's Revelation part 1

After the party, I started to head back to my bedroom, the faint echoes of laughter and music still lingering in the air. But as I passed Zack and Flurry's room, a hushed conversation reached my ears, causing me to halt in my tracks. The words "Do you love me?" floated out of the room, carried by a mixture of uncertainty and tension.

Curiosity getting the better of me, I involuntarily slowed down, my footsteps nearly imperceptible as I strained to catch any further snippets of the conversation. The moment seemed charged with an inexplicable heaviness as if the very walls were holding their breath in anticipation of the response.

I slowly backed up as I placed my ear up against the wall as I spoke to myself in my head. I really shouldn’t be listening in on them but my curiosity got the better of me. I put my ear as close to the door as possible trying to hear what they were talking about when I heard one of them say “To remove the spell” When I heard that I backed away from the door shocked as I said to myself “I was right, my daughter is under a love spell”, no wait I probably missed understood there conversation, I put my ear back on to the door and the next words I heard “it’s like I have to fall in love with you all over again”.

This single line made me very suspicious. I knew I wanted to stop but I just found their conversation so addicting that I just listened throughout it all. I then figured it all out. Zack put a love spell on her and he made the spell stronger. I couldn't make out how long my daughter was under the spell but I knew it was for a long time. I still needed evidence though as I couldn't just barge on in, I needed to figure out more information.

I went downstairs, rejoining the dwindling party in the ballroom. My mind was still grappling with the revelation I had overheard, and I was determined to seek help in resolving this delicate situation. As I entered, a familiar voice broke through the ambiance. "Oh, hey there, Cadence," the pony called out, approaching me with a warm smile.

" Whispered Thought, it's been a while," I replied, a sense of nostalgia washing over me.

"Tell me about it," Whispered, chuckling to herself. "So, what brings you here?"

"Whispered, I could really use your assistance," I said, my tone serious.

"Anything, Cadence. Just name it," she offered eagerly.

"I know your special talent involves reading minds," I began. "I need your help to gather specific information from someone's mind."

"It's true, mind reading is my specialty," Whispered affirmed.

I explained my predicament, emphasizing the urgency and the potential benefits of her ability. "Could you look into the mind of someone I know? It's for their own good."

Whispered hesitated, reminding me of the ethical complexities of her gift. "You know I can't just delve into someone's mind without their consent."

I implored her further, "Please, could you try? The situation is critical."

Her reluctance seemed to fade as I offered, "I'll make it worth your while. I'll provide extra compensation."

"Consider it done," Whispered finally agreed, her resolve firming.

"Great. I need you to read the mind of a changeling," I specified.

" Ah.... changeling," Misted said taking a step back her eyes in shock hearing that word

"Specifically," I continued, "a changeling by the name of Zack Catcher."

Whispered nodded, as she took a deep breath trying to calm herself down "Alright, I can do that. just show me where he is"

I nodded my head as I led Misted to Flurry and Zack's door, "he is in there" I said pointing to Zack "the changeling wrapped in my daughter's wing"

Misted nodded her head as she put one of her hooves on the head and closed her eyes, as her horn began to glow in a magic aura, a little while later a string of magic comes out of Misted's horn into the room onto Zack's head,

And as I waited I started to feel a binge of guilt, was this really the best idea? Sure I may despise him and I want to find something to use against him but for some reason, everything in my body is telling me to not do this, it was the same feeling that told me that Zack was evil, I thought over and over again. I knew this was wrong, but I knew what I had to do. I needed to know, I thought as Misted was ready now. I thought about telling her to stop but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I didn’t have it in me to stop at this point.

Suddenly Misted started to move her mouth, like she was talking to somepony “Who…who are you”, Misted said. “Misted? What’s going on”, I said as Misted continued to talk. “Wait…what in Equestria are you doing? No…stay back! I SAID STAY BACK! Wait…No..get away from me. Get…aw..ay”, Misted said in complete fear, as she then collapsed to the floor. I ran over to Misted as I noticed she had a red scar on her eye. I thought something terrible had to have happened to her. Misted are you ok”, I said as I tried to wake her up.

I continued to try and wake her up until I heard dark laughter coming from her mouth, “it’s good to finally meet you. Cadence”, Misted said in a dark hollow voice as she opened her eyes and I took a step back seeing that her eye’s had gone red. “Misted what are you talking about '', Misted looked up at me letting out a hollow voice before replying “Oh you incompetent fool, I am not your little friend, I am Ark”, Ark said. “What is going on”, I said with a little fear in my voice “I would tell you but let's just say that you were right”, Ark said. “Right? Right about what”, I said in a stern tone “Your daughter…IS MINE”, Ark said through bits of laughter in his voice. “Get out of my friend's body you… you monster”, “I got you all in my sight, I’m gonna take everything from you and your daughter, be ready, I like a fight, but goodbye… for now”, Ark said laughing.

Just then, Misted’s eyes then began to return to normal as she then collapsed on the floor again. I ran over to her again I checked and heard her breathing but very lightly. “Misted,” I said giving her a little shake but when she didn’t respond, I started to become worried, Misted is my best friend I couldn’t let her die “Misted! Come back. Anypony help! My friend passed out”, I said crying out for help. Tears stream from my eyes.

After a while, an ambulance came and put Misted on a stretcher when Zack and Flurry came down the stairs. And when they saw Misted their face immediately went from curious to shock as we all got into the ambulance as drove to the hospital
