Hitch and the Parasyte
Sheriff's duty
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIn the beautiful coastal city of Maretime Bay, the earth pony, pegasus and unicorn mares, fillies, colts and stallions were all seen having a casual stroll through the beautiful city like any normal day in their beautiful land. Things were going as smoothly as usual with events going accordingly to plan with no disturbances in sight currently which was a good sign.
Within the town, there was a stallion who was seen assisting a pegasus mare in moving most of her packages into her newly opened bread shop after moving from Zephyr Heights to Maretime Bay permanently. The stallion was known as Hitch Trailblazer, the sheriff of Maretime Bay who was seen doing his work in patrolling the ponies and assisting them with their jobs with professionalism and compassion.
"Are you sure that you can carry them all Hitch?"
"Don't worry ma'am, everything is going accordingly to plan for me. I just have to try and lift these three boxes up." Hitch groaned as he tried to carry up those boxes of supplies and breads however, no matter how much strengths he tries to put, he was unsuccessful.
"Oh hey Hitch, you need some help?"
When Hitch heard the familiar voice, he looked to his left and saw his crush Sunny Starscout standing there while looking down of him with a soft and pleasant smile.
"Oh uh hello Sunny, everything is going accordingly to plan for me right now currently, and I'm in no need for any succour." Hitch told her with an assuring smile.
As Sunny watched Hitch trying to lift up those boxes and fail, she let out a giggle before transforming in her alicorn form. After that, she levitated the three boxes out of Hitch's hooves before looking at the pegasus mare.
"Don't worry ma'am, I'll help you with these boxes." Sunny volunteered.
"Why thank you so much Sunny."
"My pleasure."
After that, the two mares entered the bread shop with the pegasus mare opening the door for Sunny Starscout, leaving Hitch standing there with a depressed expression over his failure once more.
"Don't worry Hitch, there are other things you could assist with, it's not just moving boxes." Hitch told himself.
Located on the far west of the town, sheriff Hitch was seen assisting a unicorn mare in setting up her brand new vegetable shop. The mare was seen setting up her shopping stand, while Hitch was seen putting carrots in an orange box, everything was progressing smoothly with no interruptions but, the mare wanted her shop to be completed quicker.
"Hitch, how are the carrots going?" The mare asked. "There are other vegetables to be put in these other separated boxes too you know." She told him.
"Don't worry ma'am, I'm almost done with these carrots." He told her. "Just give me a minute." He finished as he began to pick up the pace.
After grabbing and putting in seven more carrots. Hitch has completed in putting the carrots in the box.
"Alright all done." Said Hitch with a smile. "All done ma'am, you can now-"
Hitch immediately stopped in his sentence when he saw Sunny in front of him having to have already helped the mare in completing her new vegetable stand as well as emplacing the baskets full of vegetables in their proper areas based on the signs and price tags. The sheriff must've assumed that the mare has completed in setting up her stand with the use of her alicorn magic.
"Wow, thank you so much Sunny, you've helped me set up my stand."
"You're welcome ma'am." Sunny said with a smile "Just feel free to call me when you need some other stuffs that I can provide you with some much needed assistance." She finished.
Hitch could only stand there with a sad expression.
Back in the intersection of the city, sheriff Hitch Trailblazer was seen trying to help bring down a colt's balloon that had unfortunately got itself stuck against a tree branch when the colt inadvertently lost his grip on it while he was watching princess Pipp's new video on his phone.
As Hitch received this report from the colt himself, he began to assist him the best that he could but, there was one small issue, he wasn't tall enough to grab the string of the balloon, it was too tall.
"Sheriff Hitch, is everything okay?"
"Everything's okay my little buddy, I just have to try and jump even more higher and better."
However, after a couple of more failed attempts. Hitch noticed magic surrounding the balloon, following up with it being pulled down from the tree branch gently so that it does not pop from the amount of pressure that is being put onto it.
Hitch looked to see who has helped the little colt and saw that it was none other than Sunny herself again.
"Here you go little colt."
"Thank you miss Sunny."
It was evening now in the city of Maretime Bay, a bunch of mares, fillies, colts and stallions were all seen gathered in the intersection area to thank Sunny Starscout for helping them with their obligations today.
"Thank you so much Sunny."
"You've really sped up our current tasks today."
"You're amazing Sunny!"
"Thank you, thank you all for your splendid and heart-warming comments you all. I'm glad to have assisted you all with all of your needs." Sunny told them with a pleasant smile.
As the ponies continued to thank the apricot coloured mare for her generous contributions towards the society. Hitch was seen left out and is now a shadow in the crowd, he also tried his best to assist the community with their jobs the best that he could but, it seems that Sunny got all of the attentions ans gratitudes from the ponies once again due to her quick acting as well as her magical powers.
"I'm now regarded as a joke at this point." Hitch groaned in annoyance. He was also made fun by the mares: Izzy, Pipp and Zipp on one day too.
One minute later, Sunny said goodbye to her pony friends before turning around to look at Hitch who had a dejected expression on him probably due to him not receiving that much gratitude from the pony community that much recently.
"Oh Hitchy I'm so sorry that I took over most of your role." Sunny apologized sympathetically as she walked up to the sheriff.
"Oh don't worry Sunny, I'm not jealous or anything it's just that um... uh..." Hitch said trying to come up with an excuse but, he had nothing to come up with.
"Just what exactly?"
"You know what? Nevermind, I need a nap, so... goodnight!" Hitch exclaimed as he rushed past Sunny before making his way into the sheriff's station through the doors leaving Sunny standing there with a perplexed expression of her own.
Within the sheriff's station, sheriff Hitch Trailblazer was seen rubbing his head to relieve the vexation from all of his failures in trying to render the much needed assistance to the community ponies today but, he was in no luck as Sunny managed to help them better with the use of her alicorn magic at her disposal at anytime anywhere.
"Ugh, I can't believe that I was very incompetent today, it's like the ponies are looking more up to Sunny more than me." Hitch groaned in frustration but, he couldn't be angry with the mare due to her being his crush ever since he was a little colt.
The sheriff then looked on the right side of his desk to see a resignation letter that he wrote to consider his resignation as a sheriff since all of the the ponies are now looking up to Sunny now meaning that he will not be needed anytime soon but, he was still thinking about it.
"I wonder if the ponies even care about me even since they all consider Sunny as the pony they could count on now." Hitch said to himself "Nothing exhilarating ever happens to me nowadays." He finished.
However, unknown to the sheriff, there was a small green bacteria seen landing on his window outside.
