Orchestral - Overture

Ponies are simply incapable of understanding at the level we do, for it would destroy their minds. They can not understand the toll that is taken on me in these last days. My sister is gone, not to return for a millennium, and I can't help but think it was my fault. When she was sent away, I felt truly alone. I had lost my sister and I couldn't stop thinking it was my fault.

My subjects can't understand me. They're glad. Glad the traitor is gone. My sister wasn't a traitor. It was not even her that caused the events of that day! They can't even see that! It angers me! Just because I am the one that you see on a normal basis doesn't mean you treat me differently than my sister!

All my sister wanted was her dues. I was respected, and I could have instructed my subjects to treat my sister with the same! She may have been saved, but now I'm stuck, looking at her every night. I haven't even slept! Three days without sleep! I just need to see the moon. My sister, could you ever forgive me for your punishment?

And so the pony waited, her eyes drawing slowly closed as her cheeks began to dampen. Dark streaks began to run down her face, her makeup streaking as a single tear fell from her eye. She did not know why she was waiting. Maybe for exhaustion? Maybe for her sister? She couldn't hold herself awake anymore, laying down with her head on her hooves as she drifted off to her dreams of sadness.

End of chapter one.

"Fate has been cruel, order unkind. How could I have sent you away? The blame was my own; the punishment yours. The harmony is silent today..."
