Long Days and Cold Nights
The day started slow, as always, and Storm and Bolt were outside. Noticing that every other pony was as well. They seemed to be fighting over something or at least fightnig eachother. Storm jumped up and looked around panicked. The crowding was too much for Bolt, so he jumped up too.
"See that?" Storm asked. "What is it?" He pointed his hoof twards a beat-up pony who was bleeding. It's eyes were a blank white color, and it was moving slowly, weakly.
Bolt jumped. "What the..."
A loud noise blew through the air, splitting Storm's ears. It was the siren. Celestia had only mentioned it once. She said that it was "Only for emergencies." The pony on the ground suddenly jumped up and and tackled a blue pony below, tearing it's flesh out of the pony's neck. A loud scream of pain was heard, and the bitten pony dropped to the ground.
"DID YOU SEE THAT!?!?" Bolt yelled. His eyes widened. " IT JUST KILLED A PONY!"
Storm just nodded. "Lets get out of here, NOW!" Storm took off twards his house and Bolt followed. Bolt looked below and saw fire and explosions. He saw ponies jumping on others, and rip them apart. He noticed that when the pony fell, a couple minutes later, it would get up and become one of the others. Like a virus. An epidemic.
Bolt and Storm reached the house, and Storm burst through the door. Nopony. Storm sighed in relief, and spoke. "What just happened."
Bolt was still creeped out, and so was Storm. "I don't know..." Bolt said. "But we're not going to get any sleep tonight..."
And with that, the sun set. Screams booming in the air outside. The day was over.
Storm woke up with a pulsing headache. He rolled over to the clock, 7:38 am. He jumped out of his bed and flew out of the room, to Bolt's room. He saw Bolt sound asleep, and he didn't plan on waking him up, so he made his way to the phone, hoping to reach somepony in his family. He dialed his brother's phone and there was no awnser. His mom didn't pick up either, only the voice recordings... Storm left the same message to every one of his family members, "It's me storm, something terrible has happened in ponyville. Don't come near town." When he hung up the last call, Bolt got up.
"Try my brother." He said.
Storm nodded and called Bolt's brother Brayden, again, message. Storm spoke. "Hi, this is Storm, I w-" Storm's voice was cut off by Brayden's.
"I'm here. Do you have any clue what's happening? They took Rainbow and Twilight! The elements are useless!" Brayden's voice was soft, but panicked.
"Don't worry." Storm said. "We'll come to get you." Brayden cut Storm off.
"No! You can't! They're too many walkers! You have to stay there, I'll be there soon!"
And with that, the line went dead. Bolt paced around, worrying about Brayden, he was all Bolt had. "Storm." Bolt said. "There is somepony outside..."
Storm looked out a nearby window and saw the figure of an orange pony with a brown ripped-up hat. Applejack. Strom rushed down the stairs and flew the door open. Applejack spoke.
"Have you seen Twi or Rainbow? I've been looking all over for them! We have to defeat the walkers!"
'That was the nickname the ponies had.' Storm thought. "Twi and Rainbow are gone... The walkers took them...." There was sorrow in his voice and he paused. Applejack ran off, too deep in her thoughts to say anymore.

The morning flew by and late noon approached, with no sign of Brayden. Suddenly Storm heard a loud pound on the door, causing him to jump and run to the window, nopony. He flew down to the door and opened it. Walkers. Ten, maybe twenty, Storm was too scared to think. A walker started to come in and almost bit Storm's leg, miss. It tried again and suddenly a bullet went right through it's head, blowing blood straight out the other end. Bolt sprung up from the shot.
"STORM!" He yelled while running down the stairs. He saw the dead walker on the ground and looked up. And there he was, with a shotgun to his side, and a smoking magnum in his hoof, Brayden.
He pulled out his shotgun and began to blow rounds into the heads of the zombies, blowing some off, or just blowing them up. He smiled and said, "A little too late huh?"
Bolt tackled him and said, "Just a little." Bolt returned the smile and held his hoof out for Brayden. Brayden accepted, and Bolt pulled him up. Storm, Bolt, and Brayden walked over the dead bodies and shut and locked the door tight. Brayden may of just saved Storm's life, and Storm was still almost in shock from the walkers. But Brayden had saved Storm, and was pretty happy about it himself. As the day passed, the walkers multiplied elsewhere... begining to grow faster, stronger, and some remembering the ability of magic and flying. Storm, Bolt, and Brayden had no idea what they were in for.
