Author's Note
To clarify Age of the main three heroes (not accurate in other stories):
Tia is 9
Acey (OC Middle Child) is 7
Luna is 4
And mentioning their parents, after having lost them a year ago, will be implied. A guardian will be looking after the three siblings in the prologue, but after that, it's mainly about the three.
Anyways, enough said, enjoy!
Prologue
Three soon-to-be royal siblings had been a great bond, despite being troublemakers one time or another.
Celestia, or for short at the time, Tia, is the eldest of the three siblings. She had a white fur coat and pink mane. Her magenta colored eyes were ones of beauty. While her personality was down-to-earth, Tia never ONCE been able to express herself much.
Mike, nicknamed Acey, is the middle child and only brother of the three. He was not like his siblings, as he was a Hybrid, a human who has Alicorn abilities. The red hair, blue eyes and green shirt were reflective for those who knew Acey. While Tia was shy, Acey was QUITE LITERALLY the complete opposite. Acey would express in a way that he see is as honest as possible. Acey's problem is that his emotions nearly get the better of him.
And then there is Luna, the youngest one of the three, with her blue fur coat and her mane of sky blue and teal eyes. Almost ALWAYS, Tia and Acey would look out for Luna.
But little did these three know that one day, they'd be in such a huge situation where they have to protect their home and even each other!

The Three's day started off like boring as usual. Then, one thing leading to another, Tia and Luna end up in a rivalry, chasing each other down. Acey did NOT wish to know what it was about this time.
"Oh, no," Said Acey. "What're they on about THIS time?"
This was definitely not the first time Acey saw Tia and Luna get in a Sibling Rivalry. From the time Luna was two, she and Tia always had gotten in a rivalry and Acey always had to be the one to end up splitting them up from practically killing each other.
Acey chased the two down and separated them.
Acey sighed, "Alright, you two. What's the arguing about THIS time?"
Luna said, "Tia won't share the markers!"
"That's because you kept drawing on the walls," Said Tia. "Guardian Star told me I can't let you have them anymore. Last time was a complete disaster!"
Acey growled, "Knock it off. Luna, you have CRAYONS, now don't you?"
Luna protested, "Why are you siding with Tia?!"
Acey said, "I ain't siding with either of you. Yes, Tia has no reason to hog the markers and normally, I'd ask her to share, but Guardian Star is right. Star says no more with the markers. Now can you please leave me be and keep it down?"
Tia and Luna groaned, "Fine."
Acey sighed. He had no idea how much longer he had to deal with this. Despite being the middle child, yes, he can understand helping Luna, but WHY does he have to separate Tia and Luna everytime something goes wrong.
Guard Star said, "Acey, what's the matter?"
Acey replied, "Tia and Luna got in ANOTHER rivalry over the markers."
Guard Star asked, "Again? That's the third time this week."
"I know," Said Acey. "And you already said Luna can't have them, right?"
Guard Star said, "I'm sure it's a phase, Acey."
"You say that, yet, it's an EVERYDAY thing," Said Acey. "And everyday it happens, I ask myself what fresh hell they're on about."
Guard Star said, "Now Acey, you shouldn't be swearing."
Acey sighed, "Yes, but you GET my point, right?"
Guard Star assured him, "I do. But show your support. They ARE your sisters after all."
Acey nodded. He couldn't disagree with Guard Star. Acey was NOT the only one who was depressed with losing their parents.
But out of the three siblings, only ACEY knows why truly, but Guard Star convinced him to say absolutely nothing to Tia and Luna until the time came. The problem was, though, Acey never knew when that time would come. It would be beyond his control.
And worst of all, Acey never knew what his destiny was. Tia's would be to bring out the day every morning and Luna's would be to bring out the night every evening. But Acey's destiny? Not a thing yet.

Then came the afternoon. Tia, Luna and Acey, by noon, would always get along just fine.
But this afternoon was different, and not for the better. Acey saw Luna crying.
Acey asked, "Luna? What's the matter?"
"Guard Star has gone missing, Acey," Luna sobbed.
Acey said, "Now, Luna, don't joke with me like that."
"She's not kidding this time, Acey," Tia said. "Something's wrong here!"
Acey then squinted for a second. Then he could see in their eyes that something was, in fact, wrong!
Acey thought to himself, Okay Michael. Don't panic! Maybe Guard Star is taking a nap?
Next thing they find is Guard Star's room, hoping that Guard Star was sleeping. But unfortunately, that was NOT the case.
One of the assistants (Tia, Luna and Acey's soon-to-be royal guards) said, "I'm sorry, but Guard Star is—"
The assistant put his head down in sadness. Acey could already tell where this was going.
Tia sobbed, "Guard Star!"
Acey's sadness became anger within SECONDS. Then, Acey dashed off to his room.
The royal assistant asked, "Prince Acey? What do you plan on doing?"
Acey replied, coldly, "I'm getting to the bottom of this!"
Then Acey slammed the door.

Acey started looking for clues once Acey got his searching supplies and came back to the now empty bedroom Guard Star slept in. He didn't just see red splatters, presumably blood, but he also saw black shadowy splatters of goop. He refrained from touching the goo, as nobody and nopony knows what would happen if corrupted by it.
Acey asked, "Splatters of blood?"
Acey shuddered at the sight of the corpse.
Acey whispered, "Rest easy, Guard Star. You did your service for us, albeit cut short."
Acey then saw the dark substance.
"Darkness?!" Acey exclaimed.
Acey cleaned off the black gooey substance before he got caught corrupt with the stuff.
Acey said to himself, "Deductive reasoning leads me to the conclusion that DARKNESS is spreading! And that Tia, Luna and I have to do something about it."
Acey remembered their father's last words.
When the darkness tries to spread over your kingdom, Acey, that's when the time comes to make things right.
Then, it was PERFECTLY clear as to what Acey had to do!
The Royals
Tia, Acey, and Luna, after hours of walking, found themselves at a simple field. It was late afternoon, early night by then. Luna was already tired.
Tia suggested, "How about we set a campfire down there somewhere?"
Acey nodded and said, "With what wood? I didn't bring no wood."
Tia said, "Acey, I didn't bring it either."
Acey said, "Then we can't stop unless we have the wood."
Acey then found a large tree and a hacksaw.
Acey said, "Looks like I'm gonna have to work my buns off for these two."
"Hold it right there, green shirt!"
"Huh?" Acey asked.
A yellow protective pony, about Acey's age, said, "You can't just CUT that blue tree down! That would be going against wishes of the Darkness Master."
Acey said, "Okay, but I have a family who needs warmth. Me and two sisters. The youngest of the three of us is only four years old."
The protective one said, "As if I care, human!"
"You SHOULD, she's just a kid like you and me," Acey shot back. "And I prefer the species HYBRID thank you very much."
The protective one said, "Whatever. Point is, you three shouldn't BE out here by yourselves. Go home. And don't you cut the tree down."
The protective pony then left.
About a minute or two later, Acey called, "You're NOT my mother!"
Acey then started to cut the tree down.
Tia squealed, "Acey, No-o-o! Didn't you hear what that pony said?"
Acey scoffed, "I'll tell you the same thing I told him; HE AIN'T MY MOM! Now shut up and give me a hoof!"
Tia sighed, "Man, of COURSE Acey wouldn't care."
After Acey and Tia cut the tree down, they came back to find Luna missing!
Tia gasped and asked, "Acey?! Where's Luna!"
Acey did NOT like the sound of this, and said, "Okay, let's remain calm, here, Tia. Maybe Luna needed to use the bathroom?"
Some darkness creatures approached Tia and Acey with Luna held as a hostage!
The protective pony said, "I told you! These guys don't care about nobody. They prefer a tree."
Acey demanded, "All this over a STUPID TREE?! There are plenty OF them!"
One creature warned, "Watch what you say about our trees, child. These are NOT ordinary trees."
Acey scoffed, "Okay then. Mind tellin' us what KINDA trees y'all are so protective of?"
The creature explained, "These trees are meant to help those on the wrong path! Like you three for example. You shouldn't be anywhere NEAR here with our Darkness Trees."
Acey said, "Darkness Trees huh? Well, lemme explain something to you: These DARKNESS TREES, they're only KILLING every city the darkness spreads to. Let my sister go, and we will only use ONE of your trees for the night."
The creature said, "I'm afraid I can't let you even have ANY part of our trees. Our master won't allow that!"
Acey scoffed, "Okay then, fill me in. Who's this MASTER of yours who so says we can't use one tree even for the night?"
The creature replied, "I cannot give that away. Now put our tree back up or this blue one is gone."
Luna begged, "Acey, please! Please put the tree back!"
Acey scoffed, "Wanna do this the hard way? Fine!"
Luna cried, "Acey, don't!"
Acey had taken on the three darkness creatures! While he was outnumbered, Acey had his abilities as a Hybrid. Tia watched and helped Luna get freed. Acey had struggled and successfully finished the three darkness creatures, with only mild injuries.
Acey told the creature, "Tell your master, he, she or it just started a revolutionary war with The Royal Three! Remember the names Tia, Luna and Acey!"
The three darkness creatures ran off, intimidated.

The protective pony said, "Aw man, I can't believe you did that! It takes GUTS to stand up to a darkness creature like that, let alone take down three at once!"
Acey scoffed, "No sweat. And besides, I couldn't let my little sister get hurt. She's only four."
Tia said, "Acey, are you hurt?"
"Barely," Said Acey. "Although, I could use something to cover up my cut."
Acey revealed a small cut, bleeding slightly, on his arm.
Tia gave Acey a magical cure, the cut closing as if the cut never even happened.
Tia thought to herself, Acey, you're too damn arrogant for your own good.

The next day, Tia, Acey and Luna were awake, along with the protective pony from last night.
The pony said, "Well, I hope you'll be careful out there. Whoever that master is, only does it for tyrannical usage!"
As Tia, Luna and Acey left, the pony remembered something he's been meaning to do for ages.
He called, "Hey! Acey was it?"
Acey replied, "Yeah?"
"Lemme come with you," the protective said.
Acey asked, "Now, why would you wanna do that?"
"Because," the protective pony replied. "For four years, I've been meaning to leave the Darkness cycle and use my power for good. I was getting tired of the stupid trees!"
Acey said, "Okay, but you have to do EXACTLY as we say. What's your name?"
The pony replied, "Golden Dollar."

Meanwhile, the three darkness creatures approached their master, The Darkness Tyrant!
One creature said, "Your highness! Something went amiss!"
The tyrant said, "Hm? Really? Let's hear."
Another said, "Canterlot has been corrupted, but three have survived and in fact, we met up with them!"
The tyrant had demanded, "What?! Which three?!"
The third creature said, "Tia, Luna and Acey. We've been beaten by the boy. We even overheard Golden Dollar betraying us!"
The tyrant yelled, "WHAT?!"
The first creature flinched and said, "Your majesty, please! We can fix this, I swear!!"
The tyrant thought to himself for a moment. For him this was bad, because Tia, Luna and Acey have survived and on top of THAT, his number one lackey BETRAYED him!
The tyrant said, "Bring those four fools to me, and DO NOT fail me!"
The three replied together, "Yes, master!"
The tyrant said, "And do NOT come back here until you do!"
The tyrant thought, So, it's WAR you want huh? You've got it, Acey!
The tyrant then let out a vicious laugh!
