Before she could even so much as take a breath a hoof grabbed her bottom jaw. Daisy struggled, trying desperately to escape. The undead stallion? He pulled. Hard. Only gone.Today was a special one. It was the day that sunset summer died. Celestia's daughter. Cradling a photo album the princess and god of the sun openly wept for the only pony she loved more than her sister. A pony who brought her joy and love never once dreamed of before, And now she's gone. Dead. Taken away by a being who couldn't even feel the loss of losing another. Munch less what that meant to a mother. It was true Sunset was adopted and while Celestia never gave birth the connection was still there. At least the white alicorn hoped so. They loved one another that much was true, but having been abandoned at a young age it left a mark that even the white princess couldn't heal. As such there were times were Sunset acted out toward those who seek to help her. In her mind, the ones who get close always leave. As such, she grew to be harsh, reckless, and unforgiving. At least at first. Over time, however, barriers were broken through, and together she and Celestia managed to form a bond that seemed unbreakable. At least until that thing appeared. The emotionless being known as Twilight Sparkle. A pony who around that time while feared still had a hoof hold on pony society. It also helped that she was regarded as the smartest pony to ever live. The princess doesn't know how the two met or what was said all she knows is that one day her sweet Sunset was gone, and in its place was a pony who moved like with purpose, and yet her eyes shined with something that the princess did not like. Then there were the disappearing acts. At first, it was hours then days then those days became weeks. Sometimes she would come back with tired eyes and a few scratches here and there other times there would be deep scars with some even looking self-made Celestia couldn't take it anymore. At first, she was giving Sunset the chance to come to her. Thinking that it was some type of rebellious stage of her life. Oh, how much of a fool she was. When she confronted Sunset it went wrong very quickly. Simple questions became a full-blown argument regarding Celestia's rule over the country. It turned out that Sunset blamed her for the loss of her parents and that if Celestial simply made things easier for ponies who had foals then Sunset would have been happy. Oh, the things Celestia said in return. In the end, Sunset left, and Celestia never saw her again until it was too late. Now Sunset was dead and Celestia had a hoof in killing her. The princess screamed in agony before stomping a hoof into the ground. The result sent shock waves throughout the castle. The sound of Celestia's bed chambers can be heard. A moment later a dark wing wrapped itself firmly against the princess. "All will be well sister". Celestia sniffed. "I miss her so much!" Luna frowned. Nearly heartbroken at the sight of her older sister. Unfortunately, there wasn't much she could do but comfort her as best as she was able. Suddenly a letter appeared in thin air between the ancient beings. Within seconds Lina was reading its contents. Upon seeing the look on her sister's face Celestia grew concerned. "What is it?" However, as soon as Luna opens her mouth there was a knock at the door. Snarling Luna stands ready to unleash her built-up rage upon whoever decided that now was a good time to interrupt them. However, before she even made it half the door opens. Revealing a loyal guard with green eyes with a bomb strap to his chest. Luna paused. "ALL MUST PREPARE FOR THE NEW WORLD!" "NO!" Luna lunged. The pony only smiled. A second later everything turned white. """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""'''""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" An explosion echoed throughout Canterlot. Moments later the princess's castle was up in flames. As ponies looked on in horror they noticed two figures fly out of the castle. As they did however the flames which were a bright orange turned morphed and changed into a pony that looked to be in her final moments. Not only that but as the flames formed this image they also formed a set of words that caused Celestia to scream. SHE'S DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU. However, while all that was going no one noticed a blue unicorn casually making her way by within the crowd. Nor did they see her holding a large box that looked to be hundreds of years old. Why? Because to them, the box was simply a bundle of grocery bags hanging off of the mare's back. You would think that breaking into the castle would be next to impossible and it is but with a little distraction anything can be possible if you know what you're doing. As the mournful enraged screams of a sun god rang in her ears Trixie couldn't help but take out an old locket with the picture of her and White together. As she did a tear fell down her cheek. No matter what or how long it takes Trixie will get her hooves on those who took her beloved away from her. Even if it means she has to burn the entire country to do it. They messed with Trixie Lulu's moon the greatest thief the world has ever seen and there will be hell to pay. ShadowingBlood. There was blood everywhere, And bodies, Oh, the bodies. Berry punch threw up. Her mind is unable to handle the sight she was seeing before her. The others were munching the same stopping at Rainbow dash who at least tried to look like she wasn't sick to her stomach. Regardless the trio along with the rest of Ponyville came across what can only be described as a massacre. Blood, limbs, and pony insides can be seen inside and outside through the windows of the post office. Mixing together like some twisted version of spaghetti. Despite this, the brutal act somehow remained unnoticed until recently. Whether it was due to a silencing spell or an illusion no pony knows for sure. All that they do know is that whoever did this wanted to send some type of message. Like they had more than enough reasons to be scared already. Luckily members of the royal guard showed up to contain the situation as best they could. However when they appeared the crowd couldn't help but notice dents in their armor as well as the lingering smell of smoke. Securing the area the royal guards made sure that no pony other than the elements themselves and the princesses can enter. Not that they wanted to go in. At least, not all of them. "What are you doing?! By the time the words left Vinyl's mouth the olive-colored pegasus was already passing through the guards. The look in her eyes was full of determination however upon hearing Vinyl's voice she looked back. "A pony villain or not doesn't always leave things up to chance. If this was the same monster or killed Big mac or something different altogether the clue is inside". With that Sunny took a deep breath before entering the building. Just in time for the princesses to arrive. """""""""""""""""""""""""""'"""""'""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Celestia was angry. Scratch that the immortal mare was downright livid. With every step, she took the temperature around her began to rise. With every exhale a wave of white smoke left her lungs. When she speaks her voice is filled with barely contained fury that seemed desperate to get out. Like a living creature that tries to claw its way toward the light. Despite arriving at a bloody scene with the looks of scared ponies huddling all around only one thing echoed in her mind. The long overdue death of a being who shouldn't have even been born. Fortunately, Princess Luna looked to be in better spirits if only slightly. Well, she looked a tad more approachable at least. "What happened?!" Before anypony could answer a blood-curdling scream broke through the air like a blade to skin. Everypony's eyes widened. Sunny. They needed to get to Sunny. """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" The trio of ponies burst through the room. All of them are on guard and preparing for the worse. However what they saw instead rooted them to the spot. A shadow. A dark massive being that towered over the princesses like a parent to a foal hovered in the air. Its teeth and eyes glowed with a mixture of red and black energy as it stared down at Sunny with a look that can only be described as pure animalistic hunger. However, beyond even that, we're the eyes of a hate-filled creature that wanted nothing more than absolute destruction. "It can't...it can't be" Luna muttered with shocked eyes Celestia on the other hoof was speechless. It shouldn't have been possible, And yet. The shadow spoke. Its voice was almost otherworldly. "You killed them, you killed every single last one and buried them under a rock like they were nothing. As if you were better than the ground you walked upon. Do you think that you can kill Sombra? We refuse! IF YOU CAME TO MY HOME SEEKING WAR THEN WAR YOU SHALL GET!" The shadow roared in fury before exploding in a dark mist that rapidly began to evaporate. Leaving only shocked and terrified ponies in its wake. Silence fell. At least until Berry punch spoke. "W-who was. That?" Her voice was small and scared. Sounding as if she wanted to do nothing but curl into a ball and cry herself to sleep. The silence was her response. Shaking her head Celestia turned to leave. Only to pause as if considering Berry's question. After a long period of still silence, she spoke. "A being who like me will forever linger on the past and those she lost along the way". In a flash of magic, Celestia disappeared. Leaving those behind both shocked and confused. Luna sighs lowering her head. "We are not thee only ones who made a crucial mistake. Now we fear that Celestia's might lead towards a path of death and destruction". The elements looked at one another. Each one of them feels as if things just got a whole lot more dangerous. Now that leaves only one question. What next? """"""''"'''''''"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""'""""""""""""""""""""""" "There goes another one!" Derpy giggles before pushing the now lifeless corpse of a pony off the table. The mare was young and looked suitable, alas it just wasn't meant to be. "How many is that? Spike looks at his clipboard. "36". Derpy clicks her tongue. "You would think that we would have found the right one by now". "Hey don't look at me! I'm just the muscle". Derpy shrugs. "Well in that case let's try that filly over there. I mean the ones before were all adults". Spike nods before going over to the massive cage filled with ponies along with a few other creatures in all shapes and sizes. "All right little one we can do this the hard way or the easy way". The said filly in question looked on in a near-frozen state of fear. Spike shrugs. "Hard way it is then". What is evil?Sombra. A name that was nearly written out of the history books because of actions that happen under the said regime. However, even with this taken into consideration, the truth was still buried under perception. The stories of the old describe Sombra as a powerful figure cold and ruthless. One who only thought of himself as superior in every way imaginable. A twisted dictator that forced ponies under his command to ponies to dig for crystals under their hooves were soaked with blood. At least that's what was told. In truth, no pony knows the true origins of Sombra or where he came from. All they did know however that one day a shadow larger than the Crystal empire appeared. Bringing an aura of twisted satisfaction along with it. They thought Sombra to be a demon. A powerful stallion birthed out of the shadows of hate. Neither was true. Who Sombra was will forever be a secret that Celestia herself kept hidden under lock and key. Why? Because Sombra was her dark secret. A monster she had a hoof in forming long ago when loss nearly overlook her. A time period of mistakes and misguided optimism that nearly ended in a war between the two kingdoms. Who was Sombra? The question was simple. She was Celestial's student as well as a replacement for Sunset shimmer. One of Celestia's greatest mistakes. """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Black was cold, oh so very cold. Shivering the young filly tried her best to keep warm. Her friends Spot, Careless, and Blue moon huddled close beside her. It was wintertime. A season Black hated the most due to a dwindling lack of warmth as well as resources. This was a time when foals like her and her friends die from frostbite. Fortunately, they already survived two winters and this one was nearly at its end. "You would think that ponies would be a bit more sympathetic this year". Black rolled her eyes. "Come on Spot, this is the Crystal Empire we're talking about". Spot chucked. "True, but hey since it's almost time for the annual meeting between nations I bet they'll be in a giving mood". Blue snorted. Like Black, the filly had low expectations when it comes to counting on adult ponies. They had better luck looting a freshly frozen corpse than getting any food or bits that'll last longer than a day. Still, Spot's high hopes were somewhat amusing to listen to. Careless on the other hoof merely scored. Black rolled her eyes. They should consider changing his name one of these days. If they live long enough to do so that is. "Maybe they'll have pie!" Despite themselves, the two fillies laughed. As they did this however Careless awoke with a jolt. His eyes snapped open and his ears stood at attention. Seeing this the others immediately went quiet. Watching as his ears began to twitch ever so slightly. They waited. When saw a smile begin to form they knew they were in luck. "Somepony abandoned their colt two blocks down heading to the nearest Inn". All four ponies looked at one another. The grins on their faces to this day couldn't be matched. """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Some say that monsters aren't born but merely created by circumstance. Others say the exact opposite. However, the truth can be far more complicated for even the best Scholars to answer Of course, when you're an immortal spirit of darkness you tend to have a lot of time on your hooves. For Sombra however, time wasn't nearly to explain the hate and anger that boils in her heart. No, doing so would take decades or even eons for a pony to truly grasp the length of how far she will go to achieve victory. The princesses could just seal away using the elements. Oh, how shocked they must have been upon seeing her return. Sombra only wished that she was able to see the horrified look on their faces. Ah but unfortunately the time wasn't right. Soon however the downfall of this nation will be at hoof, and when that happens Sombra can exact her revenge upon the one who cursed her. The one who took everything away from her. Princess Celestia. The one who was supposed to be her mother. Oh but you see fate had other plans. Closing her eyes Sombra envisioned her close friends smiling down upon her. The ones who stuck by her through that gruesome period she was born in. Oh, how she wished that there was a way for them to see what she had in store. Unfortunately, it wasn't time that removed them from her gasp, but no matter she will make them proud once she accomplished what they promised to one another as foals. Then when the time is right she will find a way to remove her curse and join them in the eternal realm of slumber where they can join together in peace. Black smiled. Soon the name Sombra will be shared once more among them. For now, however, she must bid her time and wait for an opportunity to present itself. "H-hello i-is somepony t-there?" The voice of an older stallion echoed in the darkness of an alleyway he and another mare used to seek pleasure in secret. From inside said darkness, Sombra grinned. Her eyes flashed in a dark purple hue that the stallion in question saw immediately. He screamed turning to run. Unfortunately, a limb made of shadow moved faster than his legs ever could. Lifting the stallion into the air she emerged from the darkness covered in her newfound attire. "Hello prince, how would you like to make a deal?" As such there were times were Sunset acted out toward those who seek to help her.
"Hello prince, how would you like to make a deal?"
