It was mid-afternoon in Colgate’s dentistry and almost closing time, the Maya coloured unicorn was onto her final patient before heading home for the day. Clipboard levitated in a pale blue field of magic, she trotted out into the small waiting room, her final patient waiting patiently to have her teeth examined.

“Violet” Colgate called as she looked over the clipboard. Her final patient was a lavender unicorn filly with a pink and white mane; she was being escorted by her sky blue mother. “How are we this afternoon?” Colgate asked kindly as she guided her patient and her mother into the practice.

Colgate allowed three minutes to dry and finally she chipped it away and shaped it correctly with the tooth. Colgate pulled away and wiped her brow.

“Okay, I’m done” Colgate said happily, withdrawing from her client. Colgate placed her tools onto the dish on the table and levitated her pen and clipboard, she quickly wrote down what was done before pulling out a small tin from a drawer. Colgate opened the tin and pulled out a lollipop.

“You’re welcome” Colgate replied happily, “Have a lovely weekend.”

“See you Violet” Colgate quickly added.

“Seeya miss dentist lady” Violet said cutely, “Thank you for the lollipop.”

“You’re welcome” Colgate finished kindly.

With that, the two left Colgate’s dentistry. Colgate locked the door and went about her closing duties.

The shop was cleaned, till counted, money sorted and paperwork complete; Colgate levitated her saddlebag onto her back, stepped out of her practice and locked the door. The blue unicorn looked left, then right. She was completely unsure of what to do; she needed to get Berry a birthday present but had no idea what to get her.

“Yes please” Berry answered from above. Colgate trotted back to the table, levitated two glasses and the bottle of wine; she uncorked the bottle with her magic and filled both glasses with the deep crimson liquid before placing the bottle back in the middle on the table.

Berry Punch walked into the dining room and took a seat opposite Colgate. “Thanks for cleaning up by the way, the house was a mess” Berry mentioned.

“Yeah no problem” Colgate said waving a hoof before lifting her glass in a field of levitation and taking a sip of the fruity wine.

Berry picked up her glass and sipped the wine. She looked at the glass and smacked her lips. “This is a good wine” Berry stated, “I’m teaching you well.”

Colgate merely shrugged and said, “It helps that I live with you.”
