An ancient chest, containing a magical mystery, is brought back from the Tenochtitlan Basin. Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst know they can figure it out eventually, working as a team. While Twilight is away on a friendship quest, they settle in for some magical research bonding.

It turns out ancient magic needs to be taken seriously, and they find themselves in a tight spot, and the wrong sexes. Now they just need to focus on a counterspell without getting distracted too much by one another.
