Author's Note
My best (and worst) story ideas never arise ex nihilo; rather, they come from combining two utterly disparate ideas.
I really dislike "Forgotten Friendship" and "Spring Breakdown" — after that one-two punch, I stopped watching Equestria Girls. I got to thinking that adding a tentacle monster to the yacht cruise might might it interesting.
But that, by itself, wasn't really a story. It was just a setup.
Then I discovered the derpibooru tag "instant loss 2koma".
By writing the rapey tentacle monster in the form of two-panel instant loss vignettes, I decided I liked this story enough to write.
Whether this is one of my best or worst stories — is not for me to judge.
