Chapters A young girl of around thirteen years of age, and her parents were out to dinner at a restaurant enjoying a meal together. Everyone was dressed in nice clothes and eating their food along with drinking their drink of choice. The trio then finished their meals and tipped the waiter and paid their bill. They then got up from their table.
“Thank you, mom and dad, for the meal,” the young girl said.
Her mother smiled “: You’re welcome, dear” she replied as the family begins to walk through the restaurant toward its front doors. They felt the brisk air of the night sky on their bodies as they watched cars come and go from the restaurant parking lot. Carefully the family steps off the sidewalk and onto the black pavement of the parking lot. While her parents were ahead of her the young girl tried to keep up as best, she could.
Suddenly she was bathed in light as the headlights from the car came into view at a high rate of speed. They sent her flying through the air and barrel rolling onto the ground. Her parents then rushed over to their daughter's side, a mixture of panic and horror etched across their faces.
She could see her father pull out his cell phone and dial 911 and could hear her father shouting for an ambulance to come to their location right now as they stayed with their daughter. Several minutes passed until sirens could be heard as the medical vehicle pulled into the parking lot. Two people wearing medical uniforms came out of either side of the front of the ambulance and rushed around to the back of the ambulance and pulled a stretcher out and carefully lifted the girl onto the stretcher and then loaded her into the ambulance. Due to the pain, the young girl passed out.
Sometime later the girl woke up with her eyes fluttering open “Ugh, where am I? ” she thought to herself. She could hear beeping and saw that she was hooked up to a machine. “Am I in a hospital ? She wondered. She then looked over and saw her parents and asked “Mom, Dad what am I doing here?”
She could see the relieved looks on the faces of her parents.
“Oh, honey she’s awake” she heard her mother say with happiness in her voice.
“This is wonderful!” her father replied.
The girl then tried to move her body, but sharp sudden pains shot through her entire body and forced her to lie back down on the bed. Then there was a knock on the door.
“Come in” the girl's father loudly said. The room door then opened, and the doctor walked into the room with a serious look on his face. “Can I speak to you two outside?” asked the doctor.
The girl’s parents nodded and followed the doctor out of the room and closed the door behind them.
“What is it, doctor?” The girl's mother asked with worry evident in her voice.
The doctor began “While your daughter’s injuries will heal. Her spine is damaged beyond repair, so she’ll be paralyzed for the rest of her life” the doctor said.
“Are you sure?” the girl’s father asked in concern. However, the doctor just nodded solemnly. “I’m sorry we’ve done all that we could do. Please excuse me” said the doctor as he walked away. Leaving the parents alone, they stood in front of the door shocked at what they had just heard.
They turned to face the door and open it to walk back into the room to be with their daughter. The mother could not take it anymore and slumped into a nearby chair and began to cry.
“What’s going on? I saw the doctor come into the room and then they walked out of the room. However, judging by mom’s reaction I don’t think it's good news” thought the daughter.”
Then the girl’s father then came closer to her bed. “Hey, the doctor said that you were going to make a full recovery but there is a complication” her father began then however he looked down in sadness before he finally spoke again. “
'What kind of complications are you talking about dad?” the girl wondered in confusion.
“ Unfortunately, the doctor said that you’ll be paralyzed for the rest of your life.” her father began.
“Paralyzed, you mean that I’ll be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life?” The girl thought with a look of horror etched across her face.
Seeing her panic her father tried to calm her down by grabbing her hand and looking his daughter right in her eyes. “Look I know it’ll be a big adjustment, but we’ll get through it like always,” the girl’s father said.
“That’s right your father and I will do our best to take care of you” added the girl’s mother.
The girl thought about what her parents had said, imagining what her future would look like.
She imagined that she was living her life at home with her parents in a wheelchair, struggling to do even the most basic tasks like bathing without her parent's help. It mortified her, to be a burden to her parents and take over every facet of their lives.
“No! I can’t do that to them. I don’t want to be a burden to them. To take away their freedom is not something I want to do,” the girl thought to herself.
Suddenly the girl felt her chest begin to tighten in pain. Then the machine that she was hooked up to begin to beep loudly. She could see the panic looks on the faces of her parents as they tried to call for a doctor to help their daughter.
The pain in her chest grew more intense and the beeping of the machine grow louder. She then felt her eyes get heavy as she stared up at the lights of the hospital room,
“I feel sleepy all of a sudden and the lights feel brighter. I just have one wish. I would like a new body” the girl wished.
Then her eyes closed and darkness overcame her.

Chapter 1
Sometime later the girl awoke to see that she was in a place filled with darkness as far as she could see. Confused by all of this the girl got up to her feet and began to run to try and find a way out of this strange dark place. However, she only succeeded in tiring herself out, collapsing to her knees in exhaustion.
“Where am I?” she questioned. “Hello is anyone there?” In response, the dark place seemed to shift, and a bright light suddenly appeared, causing the girl to shield her eyes. Then out of the light walked a tall horse with a horn and wings along with a white mane and tail that looked ghostly in appearance with what appeared to be a mark of a rainbow on its hip. The horse then stopped in front of the shocked girl and smiled at her.
“Wha-what are you?” the girl asked, trembling in fear of the tall pony.
“I am a pony, an alicorn to be a bit more precise little girl you need not be afraid of me. My name is Luminary”
“Are you God?” the girl asked curiously earning a chuckle from the alicorn.
“I can see why you would think that but alas despite my appearance I am not,” replied Luminary. I was just passing by when I heard your dying wish”
“Dying wish? I died?” the girl said in shock.
Yes, you have my sincere condolences” Luminary said as the dark dimension shifted so that both Luminary and the girl could watch the girl’s parents cry over their child’s death. It saddened the girl to see that even in death that the girl still felt like a burden to her parents. The girl couldn’t take it anymore and she collapsed to the ground in sadness and then she started to cry. Seeing this Luminary bent down and nuzzled the girl to calm her down.
“It’s such a sad thing when someone dies well before their time and has an left unfilling life behind.” Luminary began. “Your plight has touched me child in a way that few others have over my centuries-long existence and so I have an offer for you”
Drying her tears the girl looked up at the alicorn. “An offer?” she questioned. Luminary nodded and responded. “An offer for a chance at a new life full of fulfillment and learning. One where you can be happy and not a burden.
“A chance to be happy?” The girl said as she imagined a better life for herself. Luminary nodded “Yes and you would retain the memories of your previous life so that way you are not unprepared one more thing” Luminary said.
“What’s that? Asked the girl.
“I know your previous life didn’t go the way that you had envisioned but I want you to live this new life without regret and not to feel like you are a bother to others. Live happily and have fun” said the alicorn.
The girl nodded. and responded “Okay I am ready” Luminary’s horn began to glow and the girl fell asleep and her spirit faded away leaving Luminary alone in the void once more. The alicorn smiled,
“We’ll see each other again one day child but for now enjoy your new life,” the alicorn said
The girl awoke once again to find herself in a stranger location than before “Now where did she send me to and why does my whole body feel weird and deformed somehow? Still, it feels as though I’m covered in a warm blanket it made me want to fall back asleep.”
Suddenly, however, her world was shaken by a sudden movement causing her to be tossed about her current location like lettuce being prepared for a salad. Taking a short rest to recover.
“What was that shaking just now?” She wondered but before she could dwell on it any further another rumble shook her world again causing her to panic.
“I’ve got to get out of here! I can’t die again!” she shouts as she begins to struggle to try and free herself from this prison that she was in. Unfortunately. She looked up to see a cord connected to her body keeping her tied down. Forcing sleep to claim her once again.
After what felt like an eternity she woke up again to find the area in which she lay had gotten more cramped leaving her little room to maneuver around the space that she was in,” This is so odd either my body has gotten bigger or this room has gotten smaller”
Another rumble followed it was almost hypnotic at this point for her as she was just about to go back to sleep, however, suddenly light burst into the space followed by a pair of colorful hooves coming to grab her and removed her from the dark area and bringing her into the light of the world. Cutting the cord that was attached to her body
“There is so much noise,” the girl said it was too much for her handle, and she began to cry loudly.
Then a pair of light greyish olive-colored hooves came underneath her tiny body to cradle it.
“She’s so beautiful,” Orange Slices said.” She has your coat” looking up at her husband Mosley Orange. “Indeed she is beautiful and she has your mane color” he added. Just then a doctor and a nurse pony came into the room and took the baby into another room to do a basic medical checkup,
The former human-turned-foal was taken to another room where a medical check-up was performed. Everything from hoof to tail was checked for any abnormalities in the body of the young foal. Satisfied with the results the nurse pony picked up the baby pony and placed him on her back and brought her back to the room where her new parents Mosley Orange came over and carefully took the child into his hooves, and went over and sat down in the chair next to the bed.
“What shall we name her dear?” asked Mosley asked his wife.
Hmmm,” Orange Slices began as she thought about naming her newborn foal. After some more thought, a name came to mind, “How about Citrus Spring?” she proposed
Mosley smiled and replied, “I love it.”
A couple of days had passed as Orange Slice and her and Mosley's newborn foal were discharged from the hospital and could now head home.
“I am glad to finally be out of the hospital” she said earning a chuckle from her husband. “Dear they just wanted to make sure that you and Citrus were okay” he replied.
“I appreciate that dear still it’s nice to be able to head home” answered Orange Slice she then turned to look at her foal who was securely on her husband’s back. could not help but smile. Though she and Mosley had nieces and nephews that they were proud of but to have a child of their own was something special.
While riding on her father's back Citrus Spring opened her eyes from a nap. In front of her she saw the back of her father's head and beside him was her was her new mother. They seemed to be talking among themselves so that gave her a chance to look around. She could see buildings of varying shapes, sizes and colors around her.
“Wow this city is massive ” Citrus Spring thought to herself as she laid eyes on each passing structure.
Finally, they arrived at an apartment building where Citrus then felt her parents go up a few flights of stairs before they reached an apartment with an orange on the door. She felt her father open the door with a hoof. They walked inside with Orange Slices closing the door behind them.
From her perspective Citrus Spring could see that it looked like a normal apartment with a small kitchen, a living room area and two bedrooms. The three ponies made their way to the kitchen and from her vantage on her father’s back Citrus Spring could see that like the rest of the apartment it was small. Then she felt herself being picked up by her mother’s hooves and placed into a high chair and from her new vantage point she could see a table and some cupboards as well.
She was then interrupted from this train of thought by a small container of baby food placed in front her followed by her father who was somehow holding a spoon in his hoof which surprised the baby pony,
“Okay my little seed time to eat, open wide” said Mosley as he slowly moved the spoon closer to his daughter’s mouth.
Citrus Spring meanwhile had thoughts of her own.
“The thought of being a baby pony was weird enough. Now here I am about to eat baby food, still I don’t want them to think that something is wrong with me. Plus, this body does need food in order to survive so, I guess it’s time to dig in” Thought Citrus Spring. She opened her mouth and accepted the food and swallowed it. Her eyes lit up and widened in happiness.
“Maybe its because I’m a baby now and it’s the body talking but this food is delicious ! Citrus Spring thought as she ate a few more bites before her body decided it was full.
Her father smiled at her as he then took the container and threw it away into a nearby trash can before coming back with a napkin and cleaning her face off.
“Looks like we’ll have to get you a bib” chuckled Mosley
“I told you she’d be a messy eater.” Joked Orange Slices.
Citrus felt her eyes become heavy as tiredness began to set in. Seeing this Mosley picked the filly up and placed her on his back and carefully trotted over to his wife.
“It looks like it’s time for a nap.” Mosley said.
“Indeed, it is come on let’s put her down so she can sleep in peace” replied Orange Slices.
The two adult ponies left the kitchen and headed through a hallway where they came upon two bedrooms. Carefully Mosley used a hoof to open the door to one of the bedrooms it was a decent sized room with s bed fit for two ponies and crib next to it. With great care Orange Slice picked up Citrus Spring and laid her down on the bed.
“I’ll be right back” Orange Slices whispered to her husband who just nodded as his wife trotted out of the room leaving father and daughter alone. Moments later Orange Slices returned holding a diaper in her hooves. She then walked up to the bed and with some careful maneuvering of her daughters body she got the diaper on. Then Mosley picked up Citrus Spring and carefully placed the baby pony in the crib and placed a blanket over her body. Both parents smiled as they looked down on their daughter in the crib.
“She is so cute.” Mosley said
She is indeed, I think she’ll be a positive influence on the both of us” Orange Slices replied.
“Lets let her enjoy her nap in peace” Mosley said as he and his wife then left the room and closed the door as Citrus Spring was now alone in the room.
“That was certainly an experience” Citrus Spring thought as she stared up at the ceiling of her parents bedroom. With a yawn coming from her mouth as she settled in for a nap and closed her eyes allowing her body to relax and fall into a deep sleep.
Hours later a foul odor woke Citrus from her nap and out of instinct she began to cry. Moments
Later her father came into the room with a fresh diaper and other cleaning supplies. Carefully he set the cleaning stuff on the bed. Then Mosley carefully lifted Citrus onto the bed and then took the dirty diaper off and left the room for a moment to throw away the dirty diaper before returning to the room to clean up his daughter's body and put a fresh diaper on his daughter.
“It looks like you have had enough of napping” Mosley joked, as he picked up his daughter and carried her back to the living room where her mother was sitting on the couch resting when she saw Mosley carrying Citrus come back into the room.
“I take it someone is done napping?” Orange Slices said.
"Well that and she had a dirty diaper” Mosley answered"
Orange Slice then leaned forward and gently grabbed Citrus off Mosley’s back and held the foal in her hooves. Citrus felt comforted to be near her parents.
Hours later the sun set and the night took over the sky, the three ponies were back in the kitchen eating dinner. After finishing their meal they then left the kitchen and walked through the main living area where they then came upon a small table that had a small framed picture of three ponies. Citrus could point out her parents in the photo, however, she did not recognize the third pony who had an orange coat, blonde mane and green eyes.
“That is Applejack she’s your cousin. She came to live to with us for a short time before you were born. She thought she wanted the glitz and glimmer of the big city life and she thought we could acclimate her to Manehatten. However, after a while she began to feel homesick and eventually she returned home to Ponyville and Sweet Apple Acres” Orange Slices explained.
“Manehatten isn’t for everyone and I’m glad she found the place where she belongs.” added Mosley Orange.
“You’ll meet her someday” Orange Slices said. With that they continued on their way to the main bedroom where Citrus Spring was placed into her crib as her parents stepped out of the room to freshen up for bed.
When they came back into the room they looked down on their daughter.
“Goodnight our little Citrus Spring” both her parents said, soon the room went dark as the two got into the bed.
Before she fell asleep she turned her head and looked through the crib.
“Good night Mom and Dad ” she thought to herself as her eyes then closed and she fell into a peaceful sleep,
