Chapter 2: Mama Starlight and Baby Cady

“Cadence please don’t get mad! I swear is not what it looks like!” said Shining from the changing table as he tried to sit and explain.

His wife simply walked toward him and started pocking his tummy with a smirk. “I don’t know what this looks like to begin with! Does my little Shining wants to be a little baby, huh? Would you rather become Flurry’s playmate instead of her father!”

Sun Burst quickly intervened. “Yes, Your Highness! Prince Shining was overwhelmed! He barely held it together with all of his responsibilities with the Crown and the army, and when Flurry came to the picture he couldn’t take it anymore. I see my friend on the verge of collapsing so I offered to help!”

Cadence looked at Sun Burst. “Is that so?”

Sun Burst nodded shyly. Then Cadence looked at Shining, who nodded. Cadence stood there unsure what to do or say, when suddenly Starlight started laughing so hard that she almost fell, but Sun Burst held her on time.

“AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Unbelievable! Hahahahaha! FOR REAL? YOU, OF ALL PEOPLE, THE DADDY? HAHAHAHAHA! I can’t take it!!”

The pink mare continued laughing much to Sun Burst’s annoyance. When she finally calmed down, after 5 minutes of laughing, Cadence offered her a glass of water.

Sun Burst looked away. “Yes! This is why I knew this is what Shining needed. It helps whenever I am overwhelmed my work and responsibilities. Of course, my responsibilities are nothing compared with Shining’s, so I figured he needed this more than I do.”

As for Sun Burst, he was just apologetic.

“Hey so this is where Flurry’s bunny puppet ended up! I made the maids to look for it all over the castle!” said Cadence taking the puppet. “Shiny!”

“I didn’t do it! Dada brought me my toys, not me!”

Cadence then looked at Sun Burst. “Okay sorry, is just that Flurry stopped playing with these toys and I didn’t want them to go to a waste. So, when Shining and I started playing, I just took them!”

Shining raised his hooves defensively. “See? It wasn’t me! Actually I never thought this puppet and the missing one were the same.”

Cadence rolled her eyes. “Okay, let’s leave it like that.”

She put on the puppet on her hoof and Shining picked a dragon puppet. They started to play with each other carelessly when Cadence’s expression changed.

“Cady?”

“I need to go. I had a lot to drink with Starlight!” she admitted with a blush.
