Classes at Canterlot had now been underway for a couple of days now. Celestia and Lucky Star were doing great. Though, there was this one classmate known as Luster Dawn who had a knack for trying to show off. It was rather wierd.

Still, things were smooth for the first week. No major events happened while school was in session.

It was during the weekend when something did happen. That being Cozy Glow's return to Canterlot with the mysterious "Queen Chrysalis".

But when Twilight saw who Cozy Glow was escorting into the throne room, she gasped and headed straight up to the mysterious creature no pony recognized.

"Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake." Twilight began.

"Clap your hoooves and do a little shake~" The creature finsihed with Twilight.

"I didn't think I'd ever see you again, Chrysalis." Twilight said.

"Says the alicorn I was all too happy to help run off Discord." The creature said.

"Err...Twilight, you know this changeling?" Cozy Glow asked.

"My apologies, I hadn't made the connection until now, but this is Chrysalis; she helped me out when Discord first showed up. She and I bounded after we ran him off. I haven't seen you for at least a thousand years, yet you don't look that old." Twilight said.

Chrysalis giggled. "Being a changeling queen allows me certain benifits such as a long life-span." She said.

"Oh, I didn't know you were a queen." Twilight said.

"You don't need to adress me by title, Twilight. You're a really good friend; someone I'd like to think of as a sister." Chrysalis said.

"Err, am I the only one confused? You know what this is, sis?" Shining Armor asked.

"She's a changeling. A shape shifter. Don't worry though, she's friendly. After she discovered how great friendship can be to fuel changelings, her entire hive started allowing themselves to use positive emotions to feed themselves." Twilight explained.

"Well sadly, as much I'd like to say we're the only changeling hive, there are others. While most don't want to invade Canterlot, there is...one changeling hive I've noticed who refuses to live in harmony with ponies." Chrysalis said. "I came here to warn you of that hive."

"That doesn't sound good. Whose in control of this hive?" Twilight asked.

"I'm afraid I don't know. In fact, I met with all the other changeling royals before I asked to be escorted here. Not a single one of them knows whose running this potentially rogue hive, but all I could gather is that they are based in a very desolate area with very little vegetation." Chrysalis said. "Unfortunately, that narrows the place down to three different locations, so I have no idea exactly where it is."

"Understood. Since your here already, perhaps you'd like to hang out for old time's sake." Twilight said.

Chrysalis smiled. "I think I'd like that."

I know it's short, but I really wanted to make sure that I'm covering all possible bases. So yes, Chrysalis is the one that gets a bit of a sister role with Twilgiht in this timeline, thus replacing Candace for that role completely. And well, while I didn't show too much off of Luster Dawn right now, you can probably already guess what role she's going to fulfill. Or maybe you can't. I could be misleading you. Who's to say, really?
