Star swirl's comet

Prologue

It was unlike anything she ever felt in her entire life. Even though their eye contact only lasted for a moment, she felt as if his gaze had touched her very soul. Her cheeks began to radiate heat and make the transition from their normal yellow to a reddish pink. Her eyes grew wider and she began to sweat. Her heart also felt as if it was desperate to escape her chest.

Rarity noticed this after her friend had left her side. At first, she didn’t know what had happened. It was as if her friend had been hypnotized by an invisible mare or a phantom of some sort. Only after seeing the stallion that was surrounded by the slowly growing crowd of passers by, did she realize what had really happened.

“Ah ha... it seems as though Fluttershy has a crush!” Rarity said, giggling.

Chapter 1

Angle the bunny hopped franticly on her master’s bed in hopes of awakening her. Although he didn’t understand pony speak, he still knew what today was and the importance of the upcoming event to her master. The weekly visit with the annoying purple haired pony with the gems on her flank. At first, he didn’t know where she went those days until they started to come to his master’s place for tea.

After tiring himself out from continuous jumping, he called upon the other creatures living with him and his master to help. Swarming her face with chips and other sounds, she finally awoke. At first, she didn’t know why she was awoken in such a way as they woke her. Then, after almost falling back to sleep, she jumped out of her bed and flew out her door, not even thinking of getting ready first.

Ohh! I’m so late! Thought Fluttershy. superviseing ten bat babies is harder than I thought! Why did they have to migrate this way? Fluttershy was so lost in her thoughts that she almost missed her destination. Briskly, she turned, and dove for the spa, not realizing that she was going much faster than she ever has before. At the last moment, she shot her wings out, slowing her dramatically, and landed on the ground. After realizing what had just happened, she was awestruck. How did I do that? When did my wings get so strong? I never did- her train of thought was disrupted by Rarity, who was also quite impressed.

“Darling” Rarity began “what was that? I’ve never seen you move at such speeds before let alone land how you did. It was amazing!”

“ Th-thank you but I don’t even know how I did that…” Fluttershy spoke, although not fully paying attention.

"Have you been training? You couldn't have just learned that now?"

"I... it... I don't know. It just happened."

“Well it was amazing!” Rarity stated once again “Oh! We can’t forget why we really came here. Come along! Apparently there is something fabulous lined up for us because of the coming comet. I think Aloe called it ‘comet dust sensation’” Rarity said as she pulled Fluttershy into the spa building.

All through out the time she was at the spa, all Fluttershy could think of was the feat she preformed earlyer. That speed, the swiftness, the skill. All she had only seen by professional flyers. She normally was barley fast enough to keep up with other pegasi. She also had no desire to go at such speeds. It all just baffled her. But what was even more baffling to her is how she didn't faint afterward. Something strange was going on and she needed figure out what. but how? she thought.

"Darling! Are you listening?" Rarity was becoming quite irritated at how Fluttershy was ignoring her every word. The whole time they were at the spa, Fluttershy had been almost unresponsive to everything she said. She doubted Fluttershy knew that they had left the spa. She was also concerned about Fluttershy. She usually would be apologetic after anything odd, bad, or in between was brought up. In this situation however, she did almost nothing. It was not normal of her.

I have been a little braver lately... Fluttershy thought to herself, still contemplating on what she did earlyer. Then something happened to brake her train or thought.

"STAMPEDE"

And with that, everypony ran for their lives. All but Fluttershy, who Rarity now thought was insane.

"Fluttershy! You must move! Now!"

Fluttershy wasn't listening. She was addle by the now unconscious gofer in the way of the coming stampede. She saw it get run over by a now nerveless pony running wild. She wanted to do something. She wished she could do something but unfortunately, the dauntlessness she had felt for the past 3 days had just vanished. She was in a dilemma.

Then, all of a sudden, a flash of blue and white swooped down and removed the helpless rodent from the assault of hooves and utters. She was overjoyed but as quickly as it came, it left and was replaced by fear of her own saftey.  Almost at the last second, a blur of rainbow swooped down and snatched her off the ground, saving her from harm.

"Fluttershy! That was crazy!" It was Rainbow dash. "You almost got ran over! Didn't you hear? Stampede!" Fluttershy wasn't listening. She was too busy scanning the air for that blue flash. She assumed it was another pegasus but she wasn't sure. What ever it was, it had that gofer. She needed to know it was alright.

"The comet is in orbit, my queen. We have absorbed much magic! May we strike?"hissed the small changeling.

"No. We will wait untill the comet festival. The Celestia would be least suspecting then." spoke the changeling queen. We won't lose this time. This time, Equesria falls!A menacing grin formed across her face.

Rarity was aghast! Only moments ago, she was yanking at her friends tail to come inside but now... she didn't even know if her friend was alive. Only after seeing her flying above ponyville, did she let herself breath. she's ok... good. with a smile, she called to her friend to land.
