Chapter 1: Prelude to War
We start our story with an unicorn mare with a light heliotrope-ish gray coat, and a gradient mane of brilliant cerulean to cobalt blue mane Unicorn.
Said Unicorn walks through the woods outside of Bridlewood. An outcast of some sort, this mare wanders outside her hometown because the ponies consider to be too awkward for their society. She sees this spaceship crash land onto the forest outside of Bridlewood. She runs to the crash site and finds said ship inside a large crater that destroyed the surrounding forest.
It was an odd looking ship, as it was something not used by ANY of the three nations. So the arrival of this mysterious craft is odd to say the least. She gets closer, and her presence seems to cause a door on the craft to open. This mare enters to only find a smaller craft, most likely some kind of prototype aircraft. The cockpit canopy opens, silently begging the pony to enter. To which she does. Lights inside the cockpit. Showing that it’s an aircraft meant for two to pilot. A main menu on the screen in front of her shows her the options. She thinks about it and selects the auto-pilot. Which then lights up the entire cockpit. The main screen changes to show some information. Which reads:
Prototype XL Stingwing
Property of Task Force Pulsar
Igniting engines!
Images of the hanger appear on the Canopy’s HUD screen. Meaning the canopy is made of metal with cameras all over to transmit everything into the cockpit. Then the actual HUD turns on. Showing a targeting reticle, information such as weapons, which only the cannons are active. The ceiling of the larger aircraft opens for the Stingwing to leave the craft through the now open ceiling via a VTOL aircraft. Which it does, and then shoots forward at high speeds. The wings are radically different from any aircraft used by the three nations. As they are two pairs of wings forming an X formation.
“WHOO! IZZY MOONBOW! BEST AIR PILOT IN BRIDLEWOOD!” The mare declares.
Somewhere else in the forests of Unicorn territory. A blue unicorn stallion with red mane and a tiny beard on his chin, is meditating in front of a campfire. His makeshift cabin nearby, along with a small garden full of vegetables growing. Then the Stingwing flies overheard, and Izzy is still squealing with joy inside the cockpit. The stallion opens his eyes. Unlike other ponies' eyes. His eyes seem to be completely purple, and they also seem to be glowing as well. He merely looks up where the Stingwing was a second ago.
“Well that happened…” he then sighs, “Not my problem.”
Before he went back to his meditation. As the plane got dangerously close to Maretime Bay…
Opening Theme
This is Equestria and hundreds of years have passed. Many years ago magic suddenly vanished. No pony knew why or how to get it back. The technology that was produced using magic stopped and replaced with machines made of pure technology. Pure Science. This spawned a new age. However like ages past there is always conflict. This conflict came into the form of civil war between the Pegasi, Earth Ponies and Unicorns. This constant conflict since their magic disappeared, has reached to a point that a ceasefire had to be called. Now an uneasy peace continues to this day. Until a single unicorn mare finds a highly advanced jet fighter from an unknown spacecraft. This will reignite the conflict, but true peace may be unreachable.
It is early morning over the Earth Pony territory of Gaia. A Su-30 Flanker flies on patrol as the early morning sun begins to rise. The pilot of this fighter is a light gamboge stallion with light tangeloish-gray chest and fetlocks. His eyes are a moderate gamboge and his mane is moderate arctic blue. The navigator behind him is a red stallion with white fetlocks and a blonde mane.
“This is boring!” the red stallion states loudly “Hey Hitch can we get back to base?”
Captain Hitch Trailblazer is in the Gaian Air Force Reserves, along with his navigator Sprout Cloverleaf. Outside the Air Force these two are sheriff and deputy respectively.
“Not yet Sprout!” Hitch replied, “We still have to finish our patrol!”
“But there isn’t anything out here! Just as there is every weekend!” Just then the radar pinged. Something was headed toward them. “Uh… Hitch… We have incoming…”
“Incoming? Where?” Hitch asked, then the Stingwing flew past them, like really close. The Flanker shook violently and Hitch grabbed the stick to regain control.
“What was that!?” Hitch asked.
“We have to chase it down! It could be from Unicorn or Pegasus territory!” Sprout exclaimed.
The Flanker gave chase, and flew after the Stingwing. Both jets flew through the air, with Hitch trying to get a lock-on, trying to shoot it down.
“I can’t get a lock-on…” Hitch said.
Inside the Stingwing, Izzy got serious, as she was now in danger.
“Um… Can you get us out of here?” Izzy asked the AI.
“I’m trying to… And please call me Athena…” the AI said. Athena took full control of the Stingwing. Dodging and strafing out of the opposing jet getting a target lock.
Sunny Starscout, a Earth Pony mare with brilliant tangelo with light brownish gray fetlocks coat, moderate rose and heliotrope mane, and moderate aquamarine eyes, walked to her smoothie shop in the downtown area of Maretime Bay. It was her normal work day, as she prepared to make smoothies for the upcoming presentation at Canterlogic Industries. A tech giant based in Maretime Bay, that builds the latest technology for the Earth Ponies of the Gaia territory. Every year they hold an annual presentation for the Earth Ponies in the latest technologies to “protect” Earth Ponies from the Unicorns and Pegasi.
As Sunny got to work, the dogfight above between the Stingwing and Hitch’s Su-30 flew past. Startling the ponies going about their day. Sunny was spooked, but also excited. She was in the Air Force with Hitch and Sprout. All Earth Ponies had to serve in their military for a year. So she was a former pilot and did take interest in flying planes.
She looks out of her shop, which is just a small trailer. She looks and sees Hitch’s plane fire a missile and hits the Stingwing. However the Stingwing withstood the full brunt of it with shields. However the missile DID cause the Stingwing to spiral downward to the outskirts of the city. This horrified Sunny. As she put up a sigh and left to go investigate.
“Target lock!” Hitch said as he locked on to the Stingwing. “Fox 2!”
An AIM-9 Sidewinder missile fired from the Flanker, and it hit the Stingwing head on. However the Stingwing was so highly advanced, that it had shielding. Which mitigated the damage and only caused the Stingwing to be knocked out of the sky.
“We’re going down!” Izzy exclaimed.
“I’m aware and will try to make sure you’re safe!” Athena said.
Then the Stingwing crashed. Sliding against the ground. Knocking down trees as it did so. Then it stopped. Izzy was fine, but a little shaken from the crash, but otherwise fine.
Sunny ran through the woods as fast as her legs could take her. She followed the path of destruction that the Stingwing caused. She eventually finds the crashed plane. With Izzy opening the canopy.
“Are you… okay…?” Sunny couldn’t believe what she was seeing. IN front of her was a Unicorn. Other pony races don’t leave their own territories.
“I’m fine!” Izzy then let out a small giggle.
HOLD IT RIGHT THERE! YOU’RE UNDER ARREST!” came a stallions voice. Soon a special military police unit enters the area. Guns drawn and pointed at the two mares. Soon both were arrested. With Sunny in total confusion. Why was she being arrested too…?

Alright first chapter of my rewritten Ace Combat story. Same as last time this is like an anime series. Only I will try to focus on a small amount of characters, until the end. When all characters unite to end the whole conflict. Also tell me what you think of the opening theme.
