My Little Pokémon: Grander World
The Crown Tundra
Previous ChapterNext ChapterUniverse 1.Unilight. A snowy area. Nightfall.
The Main Universe. In the end, Unilight was brought back to the Main Universe after all, but it did not land in the Arcane Seas as Twilight Luminaria had hoped. Instead, the city landed in an unknown area, far from the Arcane Seas and instead in a massive field of snow.
Not only that, but many of the residents had been scattered due to the unstable arrival and landing of the city. In that moment, the battle with Celestia has come to an end, making it now impossible for her to fight against them with such little magic power.
Residents have also been scattered due to the volatile reaction, some ending up in random parts of the city or outside of it, their faces and bodies in complete snow. The entire area had snow that spanned a vast distance, being large enough to hold the mega city itself.
Unilight's arrival to this new location would cause massive damage, as many of its buildings were ruined and some were even destroyed. The impact of the city hitting the ground shook the entire world.
And right now, Twilight Luminaria was lying unconscious on the floor. She was so drained of magic after that blast, feeling like she was going to die. She was exhausted and could barely move a single muscle. Her body felt heavy and sore all over. She tried to lift herself up but her hooves just wouldn't work anymore. They were too weak to support her weight anymore.
"Y-Your Majesty!" Professor Grogar groaned, shaking his head as he looked down at Twilight Luminaria's staggered body. When he looked to the side, he saw that Cadence and Radiant Hope were gone, getting out of here immediately after using their magic to blast Twilight Luminaria.
"Nnngh..." Twilight Luminaria groaned, looking up at him weakly. "Pro...fes...sor..." She couldn't move. She didn't have the strength to do so anymore. She was too tired to even think straight anymore. "The Arcane...Sea...Are we there?"
"We're not. This place is nothing but a cold snow field." Grogar answered, looking around at the surrounding area. "But you've done it, Your Majesty. You've managed to bring the city back into the main universe. Your magic should refill automatically here..."
"Don't let them...escape..." She ordered, already knowing that Celestia and the others would try and flee from here.
And indeed, they were. The massive Ghetsis construct cackled over all of Unilight, laughing at their current predicament. The damage done to their city was immense, leaving many of its resources greatly damaged and limited. It was obvious that they weren't going to be able to keep up a fight, not with how drained they were of magic power.
Everything was an absolute mess. Some of the residents were stuck inside the rubble of buildings, others were stuck in snow, while a few were outside of the city, left to fend for themselves against the cold and whatever else was out there.
But as for the members of One Light, they were fine in comparison for the most part. Fluttershy and all the others who formed this Tantabus had awoken and immediately, they made a run for it while they had this opportunity.
"Look at this mess! What happened while we were asleep?!" Rarity uttered when galloping alongside her fellow ponies.
"I don't know! But I'm really starting to hate how cold it is!" Applejack shivered as she felt her coat grow cold from the surrounding snow. "It feels like the Everfree forest all over again! The first time around!"
"That Tantabus plan was a smash-hit!" Pinkie Pie giggled while bouncing away. "I didn't think Ghetsis of all people would be a ton of help! I'm sure that scared them all real good!" She looked so giddy about this.
"Well, let's hurry! I don't wanna be around the same vicinity as that thing!" Mayor Mare closed her eyes, not wanting to look at Ghetsis in any way, shape or form.
"This city is massive but we should be close to the exit." Nightmare Moon would appear, flying past all of them and leading the way. "Hurry! We have no time to waste!"
Thanks to this mess, they were able to get out of here safely as the Unilight Residents were still recovering. The massive Ghetsis construct would fade away now, laughing afterwards to taunt everyone in the distance.
Within the library, Grogar helped Twilight Luminaria stand up. "Can you walk, Your Highness?"
"N-No...My legs are numb..." She groaned, closing her eyes in pain.
"Then I'll carry you." Grogar assured her. "You need to rest your body, Your Majesty. You've done more than enough for today. As for me, I will see to it that Celestia and the others are captured."
"N-No, Professor. Right now, we need to find a compromise...Only the city was brought back to the Main Universe...and my plan of sending it to the Arcane Sea has been jeapordized. I need you to make that compromise while I recover. Call for your Arcane Institute. Have them report here with resources..."
"Of course." He nodded. "Leave that to me."
Outside of the city, somewhere else in this vast snowy area that seemed to stretch on forever, Sci-Twi and Sunset had ended up elsewhere after the aggressive transportation of Unilight. Not only them, but so have Celestia and Passion, the duo lying in the snow as they shivered, trying to get back up on their hooves.
"Ough..." Sci-Twi groaned while opening her eyes, her glasses being even more damaged than before. Celestia shook her head, using her magic to warm her body heat. Sunset Shimmer was now starting to wake up after some time of being out cold, looking around at the snowy landscape.
"I've got you, Twilight." Celestia would walk over to the unicorn, helping her up from the ground since she still wasn't used to her pony body. Standing up would be a struggle for her. "Are you alright?" She asked with concern.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine..." She sighed.
"W-What happened...? Where are we?" Sunset uttered, not enjoying the cold one bit. Since she was unconscious for a while, she was unaware of the rest of the events that occurred, now leading up to here.
"Ah! Ash and the others! They-" Celestia soon turned her head, hoping to see if Ash and his counterparts were okay. But upon turning around, the sight before her caught her and the others off guard.
Right before their eyes, each of the counterparts, minus Ash himself, were glowing. And just like that, they saw how Red and the others became outlines of light, soon flowing directly into Ash's body, disappearing once they had entered his body.
"W-What just happened...?" Celestia uttered in shock.
"They're gone?!" Sci-Twi blinked, rubbing her eyes as she hope she didn't see that wrong. But she didn't. After they had all entered his body, one final glow would emerge, one of a radiant and menacing appearance.
And after the glow dissappeared, they looked onwards, seeing Ash getting back up. Now, it was just him as he would stand up and recover. "Ngh...Man..."
"Ash!" Sci-Twi cried out, ready to run over to him. She nearly fell over thanks to her still figuring out this pony body, nearly falling headfirst into the snow. "Nnnngh!" But, she managed to firm her balance, clenching her teeth.
"Twilight...?" Ash looked at Sci-Twi, instantly believing he was looking at the Main Twilight Sparkle due to the pony form she assumed. But when looking at her closer, he noticed the ponytail hairstyle and the lack of wings.
"You're alive!" Sci-Twi screamed with joy, lunging towards Ash. Ash held his arms out, hugging the unicorn that came his way.
"Pika-Pi!" Pikachu did the same as Ash managed to hug them both. "Pikachu!"
"Oh Ash, I'm so glad you're okay! When we saw what happened, I thought...I thought..." She hugged him tightly, afraid to let go of him. "I thought you were gone..."
"Yeah...I'm fine." He said, trying to assure her that he was alright. He wasn't dead. And with how she felt against him, it brought warmth to him, helping him feel better. "I just feel like I've been asleep for a long time..."
"Well, it's wonderful to see you up." Celestia sighed with a smile.
"By the way...where'd your wings go, Twilight?"
"Hm?" Sci-Twi blinked, quickly realizing that Ash saw her as a pony. Instantly, she leapt back, landing on her back. "I-I'm not the main Twilight, I-"
"Just kidding." Ash giggled. "I know its you. Even as a pony, I know your style."
"Hah..." Sci-Twi had a relaxed and reliefed sigh while in the snow. "S-Sorry if you got me scared for a second there..."
"But Ash...Red and the others...They just went within you!" Sunset Shimmer pointed out. "What's up with that?!"
"About that..." Ash was about to reveal it all to the others. "Back there, that magic did an umber on us for sure. But Sombra saved us, using all of his magic to hold the blow back a bit. If he didn't things would've been beyond ugly. The last thing Sombra did was turn the others into spirits, just like he did with Hilbert."
"You mean...all of them are now spirits?" Celestia gasped at this sudden outcome.
"Yeah. But even so, we made a promise. I made a promise to them all. I'd finish things up from there while they're within me. I promised to help find Victor and to make sure Prisma never wins, even if he manages to show up again." Ash put his fist to his chest, his promise to his counterparts burning brightly. "So, they promised to synergize their souls with mine, but that doesn't mean they're out of the picture yet. And I made one extra promise to them. I'll get them all back to normal. I'm going to use the power I have to make it happen. No matter what it takes!"
"Ash..." Sunset Shimmer muttered with awe, seeing Ash's determination was at an all time high right now.
"Red..." Sunset closed her eyes, rather upset about what happened to Red. But she believed that the promise he and Ash made would come into fruition. Red was still there, just without a physical body. "I'm glad you're still here." She said to herself.
"But...where are we even?" Ash asked, looking around.
"I don't recognize this snow area anywhere, so it must be in one of the many regions. I can feel the familiar magic of our universe once more." Celestia said. "Either way, I need to get going. Now that we're back home, Unilight's magic will return to its original state. But the gateway was only large enough to grab the city and nothing else."
"It says here that we're in..." Ash took out his Rotomphone, seeing what location they were all currently in. "The Crown Tundra? Oh, so we're in Galar?"
"The Crown Tundra...? Oh I've heard about that place!" Sci-Twi realized. "The gateway brought us all the way here?"
"Hm. So if it's in Galar, we can get help. But at the same time, who knows where Unilight City has landed." Celestia paced back and forth before concluding on something. "I have to go. I'll first get Arcanine and Kommo-o back and immediately head to Wyndon."
"Why not head back to Canterlot?" Sunset asked.
"No point." Celestia shook her head. "Canterlot is empty since all of its citizens are in Unilight City. But there are members of One Light at Wyndon, thankfully. Ash. Twilight. You two will have to keep moving in the meantime. I need to gather as much help as possible."
"You got it." Ash nodded. "Maybe someone from the Crown Tundra's a part of One Light."
"Hopefully. Based on the damage I saw when the gateway was pulling everything in, it will take some time for Unilight to fully recover, so use that to your advantage. Ah, but before I go..." Celestia went up to Sci-Twi, grabbing her glasses. To do her favour, she quickly cast a spell on the glasses, repairing them. "Here you go."
"Ah! Thank you!" Sci-Twi chirped as the glasses were placed back on her face, good as new. "Um...You wouldn't happen to have a way to make me human? I'm not used to being a pony and this body's pretty flimsy."
"Don't worry. I've got you covered." Thankfully, Sunset Shimmer had Sci-Twi's back on that part. From her saddlebag, she brought out an extra Shift Stone. "Figured something like this would happen, so to make sure you never freak out, I got a spare Shift Stone as a backup."
"Oooh! Thanks!" She smiled, galloping over to it. It was placed in her hoof and immediately, Sci-Twi didn't waste time harnessing its power. She thought only about becoming human again, the stone pulsating in response to her thoughts. A cosmic light would fly out, ready to envelop her, but it also ended up enveloping Sunset Shimmer, the unicorn feeling the same thing.
Both Unicorns ended up being transformed, not just Sci-Twi. She was a bit too hasty and swift with the Shift Stone, letting its power spread out a bit more. Because of this, it would bring Sunset Shimmer into her human form as well, the light fading and showing the duo as humans.
"Haah...So much better." Sci-Twi had the happiest smile on her face, already feeling like she was at home with this body.
"Got a bit too careless there...but it's fine." Sunset looked at her hand.
"I'll leave the rest to you all. Stay safe." Celestia spread her wings, taking flight as Passion would fly alongside her. Soon, the duo were off. Now it was just Ash, Pikachu, Sci-Twi and Sunset Shimmer in the Crown Tundra.
They looked onward, seeing mostly a thick fog and snow in front of them. But right away, the group advanced, shivering more and more without any coats to protect them. But they did have their Pokemon. Sunset brought out her Pyroar to keep everyone warm as they ventured into the Crown Tundra.
It wasn't long until they managed to get somewhere. Up ahead, they saw a small town in the distance, one that looked like it was filled with people. They couldn't see the entire structure because of all the fog, but they were sure that it was a place that offered help.
"Finally...I think we're close." Sunset uttered, holding her arms around herself. "Please tell me someone there is a part of One Light." She looked down at her Pyroar, nodding to him as he nodded back.
"Pika..." Pikachu shivered a bit as well, walking alongside Ash and Sci-Twi as they kept going forward. As they made their way towards the large building, the snow began to pick up, making it harder for them to see where they were going.
Sunset's Pyroar walked ahead of the group, leading the way as he tried his best to keep the snow out of their faces.
"Oh, hey there!" A voice called out to the group as a figure in the fog could be seen forming. "Are you okay, lad and lassies?"
The group came to a stop and looked over at the figure in the fog, which turned out to be a man in a thick orange coat.

"I don't recognize you three! Visitors?" The man asked before coming into view. "And what are you doing without any coats?"
"I have my Pyroar with me, so it should be fine." Sunset said to the man.
"In this place? That won't last forever, believe me. You're best off gettting a Magcargo on your side and nothing else! Haha!" The man chuckled, having a hearty laugh. "But you should get yourselves wrapped up in something soon. No worries. I can solve that for you."
"Oh, thank you so much..." Sci-Twi sighed as Ash's stomach would suddenly grumble.
"Maybe get some food too. Man, I haven't eaten in a while..." Ash patted his stomach.
"Hm. You must've been doing a lot then for you to be hungry out in the cold. That's the making of an adventurer if you ask me!" He laughed once more. "The name's Peony. And who might you be?"
"I'm Twilight Sparkle." Sci-Twi introduced herself.
"My name's Sunset Shimmer." Sunset waved hello to him.
"And name's Ash. Ash Ketchum." Ash told him.
"Pikachu!"
"I'll say! You all look like you're from far away! The only one I've seen that's like you all is the Champion. I'm guessing you're here out of curiousity. But how'd you end up all the way out here with no coats?"
"It's a long story, but we were sent here by total accident." Ash said.
"I see, I see. Well, it's best we head to the inn. I can't have you all freezing out here. Come on, I'll show you lot around."
The town in question that they were brought over to was known as Freezington. A small peaceful village connected to a slippery slope and a field at the south. The people here were living peacefully, unaware of the chaos happening elsewhere across the world, especially when it came to the Prisma situation.
They found themselves in the Freeze Inn, which was rather cozy and warm inside. Ash and his friends sat at a table while Peony went off to grab some food for them, telling them to stay put for a bit while he did so. The trio felt so relieved to finally be somewhere warm and safe, sighing with relaxation.
"Ahhh..." Ash rubbed his hands together, seeing them stop from shivering. "What a relief."
"I know right..." Sci-Twi rested her head on the table, looking up at the ceiling. "Finally, we're safe and sound. I wonder if any of the other citizens noticed what happened?"
"If they did, I'm sure the news would be all over it." Sunset nodded, sitting down with a sigh. "What a day this has been..."
"So, you all were in another Universe and went through some trials? And the two of you are reincarnations of two important folks?" Peony got everything from them after they shared their story with him, which he was able to understand, despite it being hard to believe.
"And no one here knew of it? Not even you?" Sci-Twi asked.
"Nope! My sweet little daughter might've, but I don't think she cares all that much. She's too busy going aroun the Crown Tundra any way to spend time with her dear old dad." Peony crossed his arms while smiling. "Hm-hm. I bet she wouldn't mind hanging out with you all."
"So no one here is a part of One Light, I'm guessing." Sunset scratched her hair. "Good to know...We should get going but...the body's still weak and needs time to recover."
"Same..." Sci-Twi groaned while sinking into the couch. "We just need a break...Just a small break before we start our mission again. But we have to keep moving since Unilight will be on the hunt for us. Hopefully, they haven't recovered too son."
"Oh, you poor lot..." Peony felt bad for them. "Here, take your time and rest up. No one here knows you're here, so you can stay as long as you need to."
"They can track our souls, but I know Princess Celestia's got that part covered." said Ash.
"If you guys are having all this trouble, then you might need some extra help. Can't say I can do much for you, honestly. If you talk to the Mayor here, maybe he'll have something for you. He sometimes talks about some Pokemon that lives around here or something. But I've never seen it once."
"What Pokemon?" Ash asked.
"Ain't gotta clue. But it's got a legend behind it's name. The legend of the King of Bountiful Harvests."
"A King? Who?" Sunset questioned.
"Some sort of fairy tale some folks call it. Don't blame 'em. No one here's seen that Pokemon that's apparently a King." Peony shrugged. "Is it real or not? No idea. If it was, I bet it could chime in and help you all some how. But Freezington just ain't the place where you can get a lot of that help. At least, if you ask me."
"Wait a second..." Sci-Twi paused for a moment, taking those words in. She felt like something familiar was snapping in her head. It snapped to Ash as well. Lucas actually mentioned something about this. In fact, Lucas was the one to bring up the Crown Tundra in the first place and Ethan was the one to mention a Pokemon that could potentially help. "Ah! Is that it?!"
"Hm?" Peony looked over.
"Ethan said something about a Pokemon being at the Crown Tundra! I think his name was...Calyrex?!" Ash recalled the name. "Yeah, that's it! That's the one!"
"Huh...You really have heard of it. But why do you know it, lad?"
"Just by name. Never seen him at all. But he apparently lives here. Ethan said that Victor knows about Calyrex, so he's gotta be real! Plus...I also need to find Victor as promised..." Ash added. "Man! It feels like we were brought here to the Crown Tundra on purpose!"
"On purpose? By who?" Sci-Twi asked.
"No idea! But it's our lucky break! Maybe, just maybe, we can find Calyrex here and he'll be the big help that Ethan talked about! Hopefully!"
"Pika-Pika!" Pikachu jumped for joy, excited about this new lead.
"Then it's settled! We're gonna look for Calyrex and then we'll find Victor!" Sunset Shimmer agreed. "And uh...keeping you two safe from Unilight. That too."
"What an interesting group you lot are! Hah! I love it!" Peony laughed. "Alright then. How about I chime in? I did say you won't find a lot of help here...but no shame in helping someone in need, right? I can come along with you three to look for Calyrex. And I know this place like the back of my hand. How about it?"
"That sounds amazing! Thanks, Peony!" Ash cheered.
"Pikachu!"
"Then it's settled! Let me get myself ready and I'll join you lot! But first, you all need some gear in the Crown Tundra. Fire-Types won't protect you forever. Luckily, I have just the stuff."
With the help of Peony, Ash, Sci-Twi and Sunset were about to try and find the Pokemon that could potentially help them. The Pokemon known as Calyrex. A Pokemon known as King. Whether it was real, Peony wasn't sure, but Ash was. He believed Calyrex was real. Since Ethan informed him about what Victor experienced, Ash knew he was real.
As the journey continues.
