A shadow has fallen over the once peaceful land of Equestria. After the return of the Crystal Empire, alongside its dark king, the entire Equestrian continent has been crushed beneath Sombra's iron hooves. The death of the old order has taken with it the former rulers, as the Element of Magic is presumed dead, the other Elements powerless without her, and the three alicorns sealed away with dark magic.

Alongside this political destruction and replacement, society and culture itself has been shaken to be unrecognizeable, as Sombra's personal perversions have led his every decision into this new society; one of slavery, submission, and most of all the attraction to the male sex. An authoritarian regime enforces this with brutal efficiency, as members of his new political elite are either brainwashed into thoughtless obedience or corrupted by Sombra's influence into giving into their own dark needs, which Sombra is more than happy to indulge for the sake of loyalty.

In this new landscape of darkness and perversion, one stallion is forced for the sake of his family to do his best to return Equestria to what it once was, and along the way is forced to work with the very beast he is trying to slay. But can he save the world without losing his soul?

This story is heavily inspired by the story; It's Good to be King by InfiniteGlass, reading it is not necessary, but I feel I owe the author credit even though longer a part of the fandom.
