After surviving the horror that was the 5th Holy Grail War, Shirou was unable to truly confront, his future self, Archer's scathing remarks on the Ideal they both pursued and felt condemned to become just like him, a broken and cynical servant of Alaya. Though he had at least saved his sister Illya at the time, her limited lifespan meant he was alone once again chasing after a dream he knew would lead to hell. Without the support of Illya and Rin's unfortunate inability to reach out to Shirou he grew evermore the spitting image of Archer. A man destined to be destroyed by his own wish "To Save Everyone." Such a simple and beautiful thing that when taken to its extreme leaves a twisted husk more machine than man in its wake.

In another world, Twilight Sparkle desperately searched for a way to stop the return of Nightmare Moon. Her search leads her to discovering a strange ritual, one that will change not just her Fate but another's as well. So when Shirou Emiya is summoned to Equestria to be her Servant, he may soon find that his real challenge will be realizing that another path lies before him. That saving everyone means saving himself as well. And Tartarus be damned if Twilight won't help her new friend out along the way.

Though some may consider these changes the whims of Fate, there is more to this divergence in events than can initially be understood. After all, not all the Stars in the night sky are friends.
