“So… you're telling me that these abilities you currently possess are from a videogame?” The man says still confused with my whole power thing. We were currently sitting by a campfire discussing about my newfound abilities and how they work. We used the timberwolves bodies to keep the fire going for the night gotta make use of the free wood somehow.

“Pretty much,” I said proudly.

“And…there's over 20 of these characters each having their own personal ability or tools?”

“Mhmm.”

“Could you give me a rundown about these character's roles and their abilities again?” He sounded stressed out and he is still confused about the whole thing. I am not really great at explaining things, to be honest, I’d rather tell the truth than try to hide it or make something out of it.

“Alright, ill explain it to you again so listen closely cause this is the last time,” I said clearing my throat.

“Valorant is a first-person shooter game with characters with their own tools and abilities to aid them in fights. characters also have their special skills called ultimates that are for chaos, defensive situations, or scouting areas. Each character or agent whatever you want to call it has certain roles in gameplay for each situation that happens on the battlefield and there are over 4 roles.”

“Duelists - People who are on the frontlines and engage in combat first before the rest of his/her allies. They mostly use their abilities and skills to aid themselves in battles.”

“What you saw when I fought the timberwolves were two characters with the same role. Phoenix and Jett.”

Duelist/Phoenix:

Abilities.

Curveball- The user creates a flare orb that takes a curving path wherever the user throws it and detonates shortly after blinding anyone who sees the orb.

Hot Hands- The user creates a fireball. Once thrown the user may decide for either the fireball to explode on impact or create a lingering fire zone that damages enemies but heals the user.

Blaze- The user creates a flame wall. Upon release, a line of fire moves forward wherever the user points his/her hand the user may bend the wall in any direction his/her hand points to. After a short amount of time, a firewall is created blocking the enemy's vision and damaging anyone that enters the firewall. Like Hot hands, this also heals the user.

(ULTIMATE) Run It Back- The user leaves a fire marker on the ground. Once the ability is activated dying or after a certain amount of time has passed will end the ability leaving the user at the location of the fire marker fully recovered.

Duelist/Jett:

Abilities.

Updraft- Once active the user propels high into the air.

Tailwind- The user charges a gust of wind or his/her feet. Once released the user propels in the direction he/she is moving. If standing still the user propels forward.

Cloud Burst- The user throws a projectile that expands into a brief vision-blocking cloud on impact with a surface. The user may move the projectile's direction.

(ULTIMATE) Blade Storm- The user equips highly accurate throwing knives. When an enemy is killed knives are recharged process repeats until all 5 knives have been used.

(Passive Skill) Drift- If the user is airborne he/she may slow their fall speed and glide safely down to the ground.

“Basically Phoenix has the power to control fire and Jett has the power to control the wind.”

“But what if you were to accidentally burn something down? Wouldn't the fire spread like how it did to that timberwolf that fled?” He questions adding more wood to the fire.

“Not likely, see I have the power to control the flames meaning I can decide whether I want to burn something down or not. So if I were to throw a fireball into a tree the fire stays but the tree will be unharmed.” I answered and he gave a nod in response gesturing me to continue.

“So when there are duelists there are also controllers.”

“Controllers - People who assist their team on the battlefield by providing cover, cornering enemies, and taking control of areas.”

“Heh. That could be useful for us.” He said releasing a small chuckle.

“Yep some have useful tools to take control of areas and some have powers to help push back enemies.” I continued creating a tactical map on my left arm and showing it to the man. “This is one of the characters that use tools in combat.”

Controller/Brimstone:

Abilities.

Incendiary- The user equips an incendiary grenade launcher. Firing launches a grenade that detonates until it comes to rest on the floor creating a lingering fire zone that damages anyone in the flames.

Sky Smoke(Unavailable)- The user equips a tactical map showing the entire area in a 50-meter radius. The user can only send up to 3 smoke clouds. Tapping the screen a yellow circle pops out on where the smoke lands. confirming the location, smoke clouds descend from the sky and crash into the designated area.

Stim Beacon- The user equips a stim beacon, tossing it into the ground and upon landing the stim beacon creates a field granting the user and his allies increased movement speed.

(ULTIMATE) Orbital Strike(Unavailable)- Using the tactical map and selecting a location, the user may release a powerful lingering orbital strike laser at the selected location, dealing high damage over time to enemies that are caught in the location and destroying anything in the zone of the orbital strike.

As expected the man's eyes widened and his jaw dropped after hearing the ultimate I mean who wouldn't? So much damage can be made with a push of a button killing anything that is caught in the zone of the strike.

“This is Excellent! Equestria will surely fall if you have an ability like that!” He said laughing like a fucking villain in a Disney movie. Why would he want to take over equestria? welp, time to give him the bad news.

“Sadly I cannot access it.” I said preparing for the worse.

“What?!” He shouted standing up from his seat.“Why not?!”

“ Because I need a satellite to even use the tactical map without it it just leaves the thing static meaning it will be useless. The same goes for sky smoke.”

“Then why even bring it up then?”

“I……don't know.” I said releasing a slight chuckle while rubbing the back of my head.

The man releases a loud groan and sits back down but gestures for me to continue.”Alright, so now that that's out of the way there are also agents who use their powers to help control areas as well.”

Controller/Omen:

Abilities.

Paranoia- The user launches a shadow projectile forward, anyone who is hit by the projectile briefly reduces their vision. This ability can pass through walls.

Dark Cover- The user channels a shadow orb and is able to see through walls when the ability is active, the user may control the shadow orbs direction in which the shadow sphere lands. Releasing the shadow orb creates a long-lasting shadow sphere that blocks vision in the designated location.

Shrouded Step- The user channels a shadow walk ability that lets him/her teleport a few feet away from his/her previous location.

(ULTIMATE) From The Shadows- The user uses all of his power and strength to teleport anywhere wherever he/she pleases. The user appears as a shade at first that can be destroyed by anyone that is waiting on the other side. Once the shade is destroyed the ability is canceled.

“This agent would be useful if I were to be stuck in sticky situations or if I want myself to be hidden from enemies. His ultimate is also helpful for fast travel but I would need to use all my strength on doing so.” I said as I channeled a shadow orb in my hands. I looked over to see the man mentally taking notes as he stares at the ground with his hand on his chin.

“Hey, you still listening?” I said hoping to get his attention.

He gave a slight nod while rubbing his chin then he started coughing. This guy is really weird how come does he not know about video games? Besides the first question how did he even get into this world anyway? And why does he look so messed up? The dude smells like a rotting corpse like he hasn't showered for years. Has he even visited any of the pony villages for help or at least interacted with any of the ponies? These questions are going to have to come later after I discuss my abilities. If I were to cooperate with this guy I got to at least know his name.

“Alright, now that I explained to you about controllers there are also their counterpart initiators.”

“Initiators - similar to controllers but instead of controlling areas they help their allies drive the enemies back and enter the area safely. They also help duelists to get easy kills.”

This is also my favorite role when it comes to gameplay because of one character that I loved too much playing. I then swiftly change my powers to my favorite agent Skye. Now when it comes to changing abilities it also comes to changes in appearance and when I switched to Skye my clothing was all green colored between light and dark green and trinkets of different animals were strapped around my waist.

“This is my favorite character to play in the game,” I said smiling as I began to showcase what they can do.

Initiator/Skye:

Abilities.

Trailblazer- The user equips a Tasmanian tiger trinket, Once used gain control of the Tasmanian tiger. enemies that are attacked by the tiger, the tiger explodes releasing a concussive blast onto the enemy it had attacked.

Guiding Light- The user equips a hawk trinket, Once activated gain control of the Hawk. Provides an ariel view of the surrounding area. The user may reactivate this ability for the hawk to explode into a bright flash blinding anyone that looks at the hawk.

Regrowth- the user equips a healing trinket, and the user channels this ability to heal nearby allies. Can be re-used until the healing pool is depleted. The user cannot heal him/herself when used.

(ULTIMATE) Seekers- the user equips a seeking trinket, and the user must channel which victim or species must the seekers hunt. Once released the seekers hunt for the species/victims around the area. Once the seeker reaches its target the seeker then explodes near sighting the enemy whilst slowing their movement speed. Can be summoned by up to 10 seekers. (depending on how many are in the area.)

“So this guy’s ability is to control creatures that came out of wooden trinkets?”

“Girl actually and yep that's basically her ability.” I then summoned the Tasmanian tiger and showed it to the man. “ain't she a beauty?” I said while scratching the tiger's head. this is so awesome I can't believe I actually have these powers.

I then returned the tiger back to her talisman before switching to the next initiator. This time I was wearing a blue cloth and I had a metal plate on my right arm with a face of an owl. A bow is strapped in my back and to top it all off my right eye color was changed to a bright blue color. When my transformation was complete I hear the man speak up.

“Do you feel any slight pain when you want to switch different abilities?” He questioned whiles taking a little cough out from his throat.

You know it kinda actually does hurt a bit when I want to switch to different abilities. It is also very tiring when I want to switch to a different character just to use his/her abilities. I didn't even realize that I was sweating hard and was breathing through my mouth its either the coat that was given to me or that I'm actually tired of switching abilities constantly just to showcase this guy what they can do.

“Yep, it does but only a little bit,” I said honestly which he gave a nod in response.

Initiator/Sova:

Abilities.

Shock Bolt- The user equips a bow with a shock bolt. Detonating upon collision the arrow explodes into an electric blast. Alternate fire the bow to make the bolt bounce upon collision. (Up to 2 bounces).

Recon Bolt- The user equips a bow with a recon bolt. Activating upon collision the bolt then reveals any life form caught in the line of sight of the bolt. Alternate fire the bow to make the bolt bounce upon collision. (Up to 2 bounces).

Owl Drone- The user equips an owl drone. Releasing from its holster, take control of the owl drone. While in control of the drone fire the drone to release a marking dot. This dart will reveal the location of the person struck by the dart.

(ULTIMATE) Hunter’s Fury- The user equips a bow with three long wall-piercing energy blasts. Upon firing releases an energy blast in a line in front of the user, dealing massive damage and revealing enemies caught in the line.

“Hmmph his abilities could really be useful if we were to enter dangerous territory. We could scout the area before making any decisions we might regret.” He said releasing yet another cough this time louder.

“You tell me,” I said while firing a recon bolt into the forest. Nothing was detected by the bolt Hopefully those Timberwolves aren't going to be troubling us for a while.

“Usually it scans anything that's around the bolt revealing a bright yellowish light of any creature it scans and releasing a sound that goes-” just then a ding was heard from where I shot the bolt. We both looked in the direction where the sound was heard preparing for another attack from the timberwolves. Luckily the bolt only revealed a family of rabbits strolling around the forest.

“Like that.” I continued and the man coughs yet again. Is he sick or something?

“Hey, you alright you have been coughing a lot lately.” I said.

“I'm fine.” He said his voice rigid while clearing his throat “Just finish explaining your abilities.” Now as a nurse, I know that he is coming down with something but if he wants to be left alone ill leave him be….for now.

“Now finally we have the ones that hold down the fort sentinels.”

“Sentinels- The defensive experts who can lockdown areas and watch for any ambushes. The most crucial role ever.”

“Most crucial you say?”

“Trust me…they are a pain in the ass sometimes,” I said with a bit of disgust in my voice.

Sentinel/Sage:

Abilities.

Slow Orb- The user equips a slow orb. When thrown the orb detonates upon landing creating a lingering field that slows anyone that crosses.

Heal Orb- The user equips a healing orb. Channeling the orb on him/herself or on an ally heals them over time healing any injuries and open wounds.

Barrier Orb- The user equips a barrier orb. Channeling the orb creates a solid wall.

(ULTIMATE) Resurrection- The user may resurrect a dead being back to life. Requires a lot of focus, patients, and strength from the user to channel the spell correctly.

“Resurrection you say? It is impossible to even do that spell here. it takes a master magic artist with a lot of magic power to even bring someone back to life and they would still have a hard time performing it. And you can simply cast it yourself?”

“Hey, I didn't say it was simple. just requires a lot of focus and willpower for it to work. Other than that I can perform it. Now stop talking I'm almost done explaining.”

Sentinel/Killjoy:

Abilities.

Alarmbot- The user summons a covert alarm bot from his/her holster, The alarmbot stays hidden until it detects a living being in its range. Once detected the alarmbot explodes making anyone in its range vulnerable weakening both the enemy and the armor it wears. If the user is out of its range the alarmbot shuts down. Can summon up to 5 alarmbots.

Turret- The user summons a turret from his/her holster, The turret fires any enemies in a 180-degree cone. If the user is out of its range the turret shuts down. Can summon up to 10 turrets.

Nanoswarm- The user equips a Nanoswarm grenade, When thrown and upon landing the Nanoswarm converts hidden until triggered. Once triggered nanobots are deployed damaging anyone around them for a short period of time.

(ULTIMATE) Lockdown- The user equips a lockdown device. Once activated the device starts winding up for a long period of time creating a large radius of the surrounding area. Once the wind-up is finished all enemies inside the radius will be detained for a period of time. If the device is destroyed the lockdown is canceled.

“And that's about it,” I said returning back to my normal clothing and releasing a long breath of fresh air before continuing. “you got any of that?”

“Yes I have but I do have one question. Didn't you say that there were over 20 of these characters? Why have you only shown 8 of them?” He asked coughing.

“Well, first of all, I'm still getting used to these abilities and I'm already losing my breath by just telling you 8 of them and second my memory is a bit fuzzy at the moment and I can't really remember the rest of the characters well so give me some time to think.” I answered back.

For the first time in my life, I had lied to this guy and oh my god I'm glad he bought it. My second reason was a lie I know the rest of the agent's abilities from the back of my head. I just didn't want to tell them because they would bring even chaos to this world which I didn't want. Plus this guy is already shady enough. He's clearly a villain but why is he a villain? Welp, I guess it's my turn to ask some questions.

“Well, it's about time we get some rest. We got lots of things to do tomorrow” He said getting up from his seat and stretching.

“Now hold on a second if I were to help you, you have to let me ask some questions that need answering” I said standing up and walking towards him.

He used his menacing stare at me again when I first got here but I wasn't afraid of it anymore so I gave him a stare of my own. If he intends to hurt any of the ponies then he's got another thing coming. We continued to stare at each other for what felt like an eternity with only the cracks of the fire being heard until he stopped letting out a sigh.

“What do you want to know?” he finally asked sitting back down but not before releasing a cough.

“First of all I'm not just gonna call you dude all the time so got a name?” I asked the obvious first.

“I guess its only fair names Alex,” he said bringing up his hand. “Alex Hayes.”

“Justin Hermandez.” I said holding his hand and shaking it and then continued.”How long have you been in Equestria?

“I don't know…I lost track a while ago so I guess 1000 years or so,” Alex answered with another cough.

“What 1000 years?! How in the world have you lived that long?!”

“The powers that I wield now are what keep me alive,” he said releasing a small cloud from his hand. “A certain….pony taught me this power to use dark magic and I've been using them to slow me from aging hence why I look young.”

“But you look pale.”

“But still young.”

“Ok, so last question why take over equestria? And why bring me along?” Now I asked the real question and he gritted his teeth when he heard my question but manage to keep his cool. before speaking.

“If you must know their ruler took everything from me. I wasn't the only one that was in equestria I had a family there were multiple of us living in a quiet village along with the ponies. We trusted them and they trusted us everything was well but one night we were attacked by the ponies. We fought back until their ruler of the sun came along with her sister of the night she had killed all of us along with her sister. SHE KILLED MY FAMILY! MY FRIENDS! EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING IN THAT VILLAGE!” Alex shouted causing me to back up a bit. then he released a heavy cough this time blood came out of it. Then he continued. “...Except me.” He finished as he punched the ground causing it to crack a bit. “Celestia is a murderer and she will pay for everything and that includes everypony that lives. I won't stop until equestria falls beneath my feet and every single creature will kneel down to me.”

What in the world was I supposed to do at this point? he had a good point for why he was even like this. Also, Celestia did this to him?! Celestia was called many things but I don't think a murderer is one of them. But I can't side with him either he would kill many innocent ponies that probably don't even know of his existence considering it had happened 1000 years ago and even if they did they would be incredibly shocked to see a creature that was supposed to be extinct. But why did the ponies even attack his village? Didn't they trust each other? Gah! This is just leaving me with more questions!

“This is giving me a headache.” I thought to myself but then Alex spoke up again.

“Of course, I can't do this alone. I needed someone to help me take over this world. and that someone is you.” Alex said pointing a finger at me.

“What would you have me do?” I asked shivering a bit I did not like where this was going. not one bit.

“During my 1000 years of hiding from the ponies and training dark magic, there was news that Celestia had lost her sister. something about her sister taking some evil form called nightmare moon and took over the throne. She then banished her sister to the moon using the power of the elements of harmony. But now just a few months ago the princess of the night had returned and was brought back to her original form thanks to the new 6 elemental bearers of the elements of harmony.” He said with an evil smile coming from his face.” If the elements of harmony were that powerful to banish the princess of the night to the moon then it won't do any good for us. Our job is to find these 6 new elemental bearers and kill them!” He said grinning like a madman.

“Shit, he’s talking about the mane 6. thank god he does not know who they are.”

“Once we deal with them we head towards canterlot and fight the two rulers and then-” Alex then coughed again releasing more blood out of his mouth. “Ah shit.”

“Hey your coughing blood you sure you're alright?” I asked.

“It's fine, it's just that when I summoned you into this world it took a lot of magic out of me and I'm going to have to need my books to retrieve my magic back. But until then I'm sorry for what I'm about to do.” Alex said apologetically.

“What do you mea-” Just then Alex's human form was gone turning into a dark mist that charged right at me giving me little time to react. The next thing I knew is that as the dark mist collided with my body my vision was fading in and out and I fell to the ground unconscious.

I woke up the next morning with a big headache. I slowly got up rubbing the back of my head Everything was still the same the fire was long gone but the thing was that now Alex was nowhere to be seen.

“Strange…where did he go?” I thought to myself. just then a voice spoke up in my own head causing me to jump a little.

“Looking for me?” The voice replied. “WHAT THE FU-... wait Alex is that you?”

“Hahaha sorry for scaring ya there. I’d take you haven't experienced this before?” Alex asked genuinely. This is so fucking weird just having him in my head.”

“No I haven't…wait if you are in my head does that mean you can read my memories? If you do please don't look into them.” I begged.

“Relax I'll leave you and your memories be that would be a waste of magic anyway.” he replied.

“Why are you in my head?”

“Taking on that human form was also wasting a bit of my dark magic so I turned myself into a mist so that I could save up my powers. And even in my mist form I would still be draining dark magic so I transferred myself into your body instead. otherwise, I would have died right there on the spot.but enough talking we got things that need doing but first, we need my books.”

“Where are we going?” I asked as I started to walk away from the little campsite we had made last night.

“Head towards the abandoned castle of the two sisters.that is where I was hiding after the elemental bearers returned princess luna to her former self.”

“I’d take it princess luna is the ruler of the night?” I asked. Might as well play around a bit.

“Indeed, it's somewhere north of here let's get going.” Just then my stomach started growling breaking the long silence.

“I could go for something to eat right about now.” I said out loud rubbing my stomach.

“You can do that later, right now we need to get my books.”

“You can never go traveling with an empty stomach,” I answered back.

“What in the fuck.” Alex replied but I didn't pay attention to him. just then I spotted a large field filled with apple trees everywhere as far as my eyes could see. I also spotted a barn meaning that this was an orchard.

“Oh look apples.” I said smiling as I continued walking straight towards the apple orchard with a slight headache.
