Fluttershy REALLY likes humans

"Thanks Simon, I can't thank you enough for all the help you've been over the past few months with all the animals, feeding them, bathing them, assisting me with the ones that are sick, I really don't think I could get so much done without your generous help. With how efficient things are now with you around, I can't even fathom or remember a time before your arrival that I did everything I did today and more all on my own!"

Fluttershy was smiling her usual cute smile as she thanked Ponyville's resident human, Simon E. Nine, for helping her out all day with the animals in exchange for being able to stay with her in the cottage until he had enough bits to buy his own place. Humans weren't uncommon in Equestria, no pony knew where they came from and whenever they were questioned about it, they didn't even know how they had arrived in Equestria either, they just seemed to turn up one day as if out of nowhere as fully grown adults with intact personalities and cognitive function and start going about their lives. Most questions about humans had no answer, their existence was a mystery and nothing about them had ever been confirmed, most answers being based on mere theory and speculation without any evidence one way or the other.

Simon was one such human and he was a little more secretive than most in that, even with his strange surname of "Nine", he never seemed to want to say what the "E" stood for and insisted that, like another human called "Ulysses S. Grant", that the singular letter didn't actually stand for anything at all.
