Queen Opaline confronted by Blue King

That night, a light blue unicorn was walking along the beach. Her mane and tail were curly and darker blue. Teal highlights had the form of wavy lakes. Her horn was pink. Same with the fur closer to the hooves.

The pony looked at the ground as she walked. Tears were rolling down her cheeks. She spoke to herself — "I can't… I can't let her treat me like this… but what am I without Opaline? Nothing, I can't even get a cutie-mark…"

After a while, the unicorn stopped walking — "Maybe I should go back? There still is time. Opaline probably didn't notice that I left. It would be better to return while I can still see where I'm going."

"No." — she replied to herself before stepping forward — "I'm not coming back to Opaline… I won't allow her to abuse me anymore. Living in the castle is not worth it… but everything looks so scary now…"

Suddenly there was thunder in the ground. The land shook as far as the pony could see. Even the mountains trembled. And the sea moved in waves taller than houses. The unicorn fell on the ground.

"Ow! Ah! I should have gone back! This is too scary! Queen Opaline, please save me!" — she yelled and shivered while covering her head. Tears began rolling down the pony's cheeks — "I just wanted to be appreciated! I'm sorry!"

The earthquake stopped. After shivering a bit more, the pink-horned pony opened her eyes. In front of her was a massive and monstrous white pony face. It had four light blue eyes, each bigger than the unicorn's head, with dark blue pupils.

"AAAA!" — screamed the light blue pony. Her face and neck turned pale. The pupils dimmed. She jumped back and began to run. But then her legs stopped moving. The mosntrous white face glared at the unicorn. And the light blue mare fainted out of fear.

Later she woke up glowing white-blue. The ground was far from her, as if the pink-horned pony stood on a large invisible house. A voice came from behind the unicorn — "I'm sorry for almost scaring you to death. But what is a little unicorn doing alone at night?"

The light blue mare was turned around. And the monstrous white face was in front of her again. This time, more of the body could be seen. It was shaped similar to a pony, an alicorn. Although robotic and magnificent.

Plate armour made the monster seem even more imposing. There was no mane on that mechanical horse. Because of a broad dark blue hood, its head looked almost like a giant cobra. The ears were closer to those of a jackal.

While the long, light blue horn could be compared to a lightning bolt. Just like the pink-horned pony, it was glowing white-blue. The mare covered her face and shivered. But then she heard a command — "Look at me and speak."

And the unicorn's hooves uncovered her face. The legs stretched as far from each other as they could. She couldn't turn away her head nor close her eyes for long. While shivering and coughing, the mare replied — "I'm scared… please don't hurt me…"

"I didn't come here to harm you. Don't worry. My name is Blue King. Tell me yours, please." — said the big robotic alicorn. The pink-horned pony answered — "My… My name is… Misty… Misty Brightdawn."

"That is a very nice name. And now that we aren't strangers anymore, I will ask again. Misty, why were you walking and crying alone so late?" — asked Blue King. The light blue unicorn tried to explain — "Opaline abuses me…"

"If you don't have the power to defend yourself from the abuse, then running away is a good option. Who is that terrible creature?" — asked the great robot alicorn. Misty answered — "Queen Opaline is my adoptive mother..."

"She is neither a mother nor a queen. Mothers are supposed to care for their children, provide comfort and encourage through kindness." — replied Blue King — "While a queen should be a mother to every citizen of her kingdom."

"But Opaline is an alicorn… she is powerful and immortal…" — said the pink-horned pony. The magnificent and monstrous entity frowned — "There is more to being an alicorn than immortality and great power. I doubt that Opaline understands friendship."

"How is her magic helping Equestria? Does Opaline move the sun or moon? Is she encouraging love, friendship or joy? Does that alicorn help others with deeper problems?" — asked Blue King. Misty paused before asking — "What about you? You're also an alicorn."

She stopped glowing white-blue and fell into the robot alicorn's hoof. The magnificent and monstrous entity smiled — "I have time to spare. Why don't we visit this "Queen Opaline"? And I will show you what I do."

Far from that beach, there was a hillside. And on that hillside stood a colourful castle and some ruins. A leafless tree, almost as tall as the fortress, was growing around it. A long stone bridge led into the stronghold.

That colourful castle is where our story continues. The pink-horned pony was walking around as quietly as she could. And then the light blue unicorn saw another, larger and purple, pony. After getting closer, Misty whispered — "Queen Opaline, are you awake?"

"Uugh… yeah… I haven't slept since the earthquake… What do you want, Misty?" — asked the purple alicorn. Her horn was longer and pointier. And the wings were menacing. She stood up and looked down at the light blue mare.

Suddenly, one of the walls crumbled. The mechanical and magnificent horse entered the hall. It smiled and a white-blue lightning bolt smashed the purple alicorn into a wall. Opaline's horn and wings bursted into bright and colourful flames. She shot a beam of her own.

But the robot alicorn blew it out like a birthday candle. The four blue eyes shone. And then the fires on Opaline's wings became white-blue. While clapping her wings, she began to jump around and scream — "OW! IT BURNS! AH! AOW! OW! AAAGH! MY WINGS BURN! AAGH! HURTS! AAGH-OW!"

"Good. You deserve that. You are not worthy to be an alicorn, a mother, nor a queen." — replied Blue King. Opaline's wings became black dust and disappeared. Her pupils were also gone. The purple alicorn was crying and coughing.

White-blue light appeared on her legs. They were pulled, shocked and burned. Opaline tried to scream, however air rushed into her mouth, filling the throat. The purple alicorn's neck inflated and changed colour. She desperately shook her blackening legs.

"During the other things I'll do to you, there will be opportunities to scream. But now, we don't need that." — said the mechanical and magnificent horse. Soon Opaline was screaming again — "AAAGH! AA-OW! HURTS! AAAGH! STOP! OW! PLEASE! OW! AAGH! AH! OW!"

The light blue unicorn rushed into a small room. She slammed the door shut. Then the pink-horned pony closed her eyes and covered her ears. But even then Misty heard Opaline's screams. That continued for a while. And kept getting worse.

"I had fun torturing you, Opaline. Have a painful end of life." — said Blue King. His horn was glowing white-blue. Suddenly, Misty ran into the hall and yelled — "No! Stop! I don't want Opaline to be destroyed."

"Alright." — replied the robot alicorn. His horn stopped glowing. The colours and pupils of the purple alicorn began to return. But still there were many wounds, black marks and stripes. Opaline's legs were ruined. Her horn was broken.

The light blue unicorn hugged the purple alicorn. Blue King shot something into the ground besides him. Many white-blue symbols appeared. He spoke — "Here is a special healing spell. My influence has left Opaline, so she should be healable."

"But be careful. The spell will knock you out for a day." — the robot alicorn gave a warning. Misty read the scribbles before they disappeared. With a glowing horn, she approached Opaline. Then the sides of the unicorn's butt started to glow.

"Congratulations on getting a cutie-mark, Misty. You expressed who you really are." — said Blue King before flying out of the castle. Misty smiled and cried. Now there was a symbol on each of her flanks. She healed Opaline.

The light blue unicorn was thrown against the wall by her own power. Misty's adoptive mother hugged her — "Oh my dear Misty. I am so sorry for how I treated you. I promise to be a much better mother from now on."

At the same time, the mechanical and magnificent horse was in a town. In front of him, there was a red pony held by white-blue light. He had a very short yellow mane. It all fell off from the glare of Blue King. The red pony became blind and pale. And then he died out of fear.

This story ends with Misty sleeping in a big bed. Opaline kissed the forehead of the light blue unicorn — "Good night, my Misty. I love you."
