//-------------------------------------------------------// Wish Granter -by DanishDash- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue It was a nice day in Ponyville, a nice lazy afternoon, with ponies going about their daily business. Some were out shopping, while others enjoyed time with friends and family. Foals ran around and played, enjoying their weekend to the fullest. So one had to ask, why in all Equestria did the Cutie Mark Crusaders find themselves in a dry old antique store on such a lovely day? It was a question Scootaloo had been wondering about for the past twenty minutes now. "I can't believe you talked us into this, Apple Bloom..." Sighed Scootaloo, sounding as bored as any of the crusaders had ever heard. "It ain't that bad." Apple Bloom shot back, coughing as she moved a cardboard box from the table, causing a cloud of dust to spread. "I thought you said we could find treasure here." Scootaloo said, taking a look around the old store, which was stacked with all sorts of old looking stuff. "It's just a bunch of old junk!" Sweetie Belle trotted past a shelf with some strange looking marbles. "Scootaloo, that's not very nice to say about somepony's store!" Scootaloo just rolled her eyes. "Relax, they aren't even here." She said, pointing towards the front desk, which was indeed abandoned by the owner. "I don't think we will get our cutie marks in finding lost treasure..." Apple Bloom sighed. "Well, maybe not. But at least we will get some bits for helping clean the store!" Sweetie Belle smiled a bit. "Then we can go for ice cream afterwards!" That got a small smile to appear on Scootaloo's face, and she nodded. "Now you're speaking my language!" She grinned and got back to wiping some shelves with the soaked cloth. The three fillies would normally be spending their time trying to get cutie marks in, well, anything. Their antics had made the girls almost infamous around Ponyville. It seemed like every week they would try several things, hoping to discover their special talent in things like, lion tamer, bungee jumping, engineering, demon hunting, tree climbing, stunt ponies, and whatever else they could think of. Compared to their other adventures, this one here was rather low key. It had been Applejack's suggestion to Apple Bloom, and of course it was a chance for the three fillies to earn some bits. It had been all Apple Bloom needed to hear before she suggested it to her friends, and the two had eagerly agreed. Now here they were, all spending their afternoon cleaning an old and dusty antique store. The place had been here as long as any of the fillies could remember, but thinking back, none of them thought they had actually been in here before. In fact, they were pretty sure they never had. The owner was an old mare, who seemed just as ancient and dusty like the items in here. She was polite and sweet enough, promising the three fillies a good reward for cleaning up her store. After ten minutes the old mare had told them she needed to leave on a small errand, and left the store in their hooves. The girls had first been a little excited about this, but soon enough it became clear nopony was likely to enter, so they focused on cleaning. Time seemed to pass slowly, and every time they cleaned something, it would seem they would find so much more they needed to do. The store was cluttered, and the air was thick. The stuff in here ranged from old furniture, old pictures, and other small knick knacks. Nothing really cool, like an old sword, a crown, or anything that seemed remotely interesting in the least. However as Apple Bloom rounded a corner between two shelves, her eyes happened to glance to the side, and spot something hidden away on the lower shelf. She wasn't really sure why she stopped, or why she noticed it, but now that she saw it, she wanted to get a closer look. "Hm?" She turned towards the shelf, narrowing her eyes as she looked. Something was glinting as a beam of sunlight hit it. The item was hidden between some other junk, which Apple Bloom reached out and moved to the side, revealing the glinting surface of a glass ball. Reaching in, she pulled the object out into the light. It was a snow globe, and an old looking one at that. The glass ball was covered in dust, but even if it was, Apple Bloom could not help but marvel at the beauty of the base. Below the glass orb was the platform on which it rested. It was made of what looked like silver, with figures of ponies of the three races seeming to be carved into it, along with patterns, and symbols. "Wow..." Apple Bloom smiled, running her hoof over it, removing some of the dust from the silver, letting it shine a bit. It didn't take her long before she started to move her hoof around the glass globe itself, letting her hoof become dirty, but it was easy enough to wash away as the content of the globe was revealed. The water inside was surprisingly clear, and now that the dust was being cleaned off, she spotted a miniature landscape within. Inside was a tiny forest, with a landscape leading to the center of the globe, which held a miniature palace (https://netrinoimages.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/2005/05/06/1656/135264/disney_cinderella_castle_3d_model_c4d_max_obj_fbx_ma_lwo_3ds_3dm_stl_1602245_o.jpg), which took up most of the content of the globe. Apple Bloom let her eyes wander over the castle, taking in the many details. the castle was surrounded by tall walls, and held several buildings and towers, with tall blue spires, and large windows. As she watched, she could swear she could just make out details beyond the windows, if she could just get a better loo- "What are you doing, Apple Bloom?" "Ah!" She let out a startled yelp as Sweetie Belle's voice suddenly sounded behind her. Turning around, she saw Sweetie Belle standing with Scootaloo, the two fillies looking at her with raised eyebrows. "You okay there, Apple Bloom? We have been calling for you for the past minute." "Oh, I didn't hear you." Apple Bloom said honestly, then took a step to the side, smiling rather sheepishly. "But look what I have found!" The two fillies walked closer, Scootaloo looking rather unimpressed. "A snow globe?" She asked, looking at her friend as if to see if she was serious. "Wow, its a castle." Sweetie Belle said in awe, seeming to notice the details like Apple Bloom had. "It's really beautiful." Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "I think we have been here for too long." She reached out and took the snow globe in her hooves as she sat down. "They sell these things at the toy store." Without really thinking, she started to shake it, which would normally make the fake snow whirl around in the water inside of the globe. However instead of fake snow, it seemed to be glitter, casting the castle in a storm. "Hey, be careful with it." Apple Bloom admonished. "Lighten up, Apple Bloom. They are meant to be shaken." The orange filly grinned, about to do it again. Before she had a chance to do so, Sweetie Belle took a hold of it. "Hey!" "I think some light came on!" Sweetie exclaimed, ignoring Scootaloo's protest. "Really?" Apple Bloom asked, sounding interested. "Probably got some batteries." Scootaloo said, sounding mildly impressed with such a detail. "Hey, I think something is in there!" Sweetie Belle suddenly said, making the two other crusaders jump a little. "Maybe an insect?" Scootaloo guessed, trotting closer to have a look. Sweetie Belle made a face. "Ew!" Apple Bloom joined them, sitting down next to Sweetie Belle. "Wouldn't it drown?" She asked, leaning a bit closer. "Probably no water inside of the castle." Scootaloo shrugged, leaning closer as well, sounding a bit more interested. Despite her better judgment, Sweetie Belle looked a bit closer too. At this point the water had settled, and the glitter had vanished from the side, seeming to hide between the small model trees around the castle. Apple Bloom narrowed her eyes, then suddenly gasped, making the two other fillies tense for a brief moment. "Look there!" Apple Bloom said, pointing to a certain spot. Sweetie Belle turned the globe so all three could see what Apple Bloom had, but it took them a moment to figure it out. At one of the windows there was a strange orange glow, a sort of flicker. Scootaloo was just about to say it must be running out of battery power, when the little light started to move, seeming to move along the windows, as if somepony was holding a torch, and walking the halls of the castle. Of course that would be completely insane. Still the three fillies watched on, watching as the little light made its way alongside the windows for a time. Sweetie Belle moved her hooves, rotating the globe just a little so they could follow along. The light then came to a stop, stopping in front of a small balcony. Then without warning, the light vanished once more, and for a few seconds nothing happened. Scootaloo was just about to suggest it was just an insect, when to their utter shock, the tiny doors to the balcony opened, something stepped outside. No, not something, as the girls looked closer, their eyes widened in shock, seeing that on the balcony, looking up at them, was a tiny pony. Without really thinking, Apple Bloom raised a hoof, and made a small wave, not really knowing what she was expecting to happen. The tiny pony raised its hoof, and waved back, which made the girls freak out. Without thinking, and without knowing she started it, they screamed, trying to back away, but somehow managing to bump into one another. Sweetie Belle trapped between her two friends falls over, feeling the snow globe slip out of her hooves. She lets out a yelp, and stumbles into a pile with the two others just as they hear the nasty sound of glass smashing. The sound seems to snap all three's attention to the globe, which is now laid on the wooden floor, the glass globe destroyed, and the water spilled out. For just a moment, the fillies worry about having broken something that belonged to the owner of the place, having for just a moment forgotten about what had just scared them. That memory quickly returned, as the water from the globe started to change color, and seemed to change from water, into a blue mist. Scootaloo was just about to yell for her friends to run, when a pop sounded, and replacing the mist was a pony standing above the snow globe, looking a bit rattled. Took them a moment to realize the pony was actually a colt, and another moment for them to see he did not only have wings, but a horn too! The colt was a few inches taller than them, sporting a dark blue mane, with some lighter blue streaks. His coat too was blue, but a bit lighter, giving him the same sort of mystical color like princess Luna had. The three fillies laid on the floor, looking up at the swaying colt, who seemed a bit confused. Then shook his head, stopped swaying, and looked around. "What...?" He whispered, looking down at his chest. His hoof came up, poking his chest, as if he couldn't believe he was actually real. As he did so, his eyes turned to the three fillies. "You... You freed me..." He said, almost in disbelief. Then his mouth turned into a big smile, and he cheered. "YOU FREED ME!" He yelled, making all three fillies scream in shock. In sheer panic, the three fillies got up, and started to run down between the shelves, but with another loud pop, the colt appeared right in their path, and held out his hooves. Before the fillies could stop, he managed to catch them, drawing all three into a big hug! "Oh thank you thank you thanks you thank you!" The colt laughed, hugging them tighter and tighter, until he heard them let out uncomfortable grunts. "Oh!" He quickly let them go, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry about that..." The three fillies all started to get up, a bit less scared, although not super comfortable yet. Looking at him, Apple Bloom ventured to talk to him first. "Who are you?" The colt's grin widened. "Well, I am! Ehm..." His smile vanished a bit. "I am... Uhm... My name is... Uhm..." his smile vanished, as he sat down on the floor, scratching his head with his hoof. "I'm..." He kept mumbling over and over again, looking as if he was trying to recall, but just couldn't reach the memory. He kind of looked like Scootaloo when she was trying to remember some important detail. "You don't remember?" Sweetie Belle asked. The colt closed his eyes, looking like he was really trying hard to recall. Finally he let out a sigh, looking slightly defeated. "No..." He said, looking at them. "Well, why were you in the snow globe?" Scootaloo then asked, stepping up beside her two friends. "Uhm, well..." He got the same look as he had before. "I was waiting, I think..." The fillies exchanged glances before looking at him again. "You think?" Scootaloo pressed. "I think this is something you have to know, dude." Sweetie Belle frowned at her friend. "Scootaloo..." The colt scratched his head. "I know I was waiting for something, but it has been so long I must have forgotten..." He said, then shrugged, his smile returning. "But you were the ones who freed me, right?" The fillies exchanged another glance, then nodded. The colt let out a happy laugh, then stood up to his full height, spreading his wings. "Then I owe you each a wish!" The fillies looked surprised. "A wish?" Scootaloo already seemed interested, while Apple Bloom looked more unsure. "Wait, how does that work?" The colt smiled. "Well." His horn glowed for a moment, and the remains of the snow globe appeared in front of them, hovering over the floor. "I was trapped in here." With a pop, the snow globe was whole again. "I was waiting for somepony to call upon me, so I can grant wishes!" Sweetie Belle looked interested, but like Apple Bloom was a bit skeptical. "So you were waiting for somepony to free you so you can grant their wishes?" The colt nodded, looking both proud and excited. "That's right!" "Uhm..." Apple Bloom hesitated. "So does that mean you will return to the snow globe when we have wished our wishes?" The colt froze in place, and the fillies were almost sure they heard glass break as the colt seemed to realize this. After a moment, the colt deflated, seeming to realize he was indeed not free at all. "Oh no... You're right..." He let out a deep sigh. "After the last wish, I am going back inside, and left on some dusty shelf..." The three fillies looked at one another again, as the three started to think. "Well, could we not just free you with one of our wishes?" Sweetie Belle asked. The colt looked startled. "You would do that?" "Yeah, Sweetie Belle, would you use your wish for that?" Scootaloo agreed. Both Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle sent Scootaloo a look, which she quickly deciphered. "Oh, sorry, that didn't come out right." The colt smiled a little. "That's okay, I'm not really sure it would work anyway..." He said, thinking about it. "I mean, I guess I would not be tied so strictly to the snow globe, or would have to return to it when rested, but I am pretty sure I need to be in the service of somepony." He looked at the three of them. "If you keep the snow globe after you free me, then I guess it could work, perhaps." "Wait, so you mean we can have more wishes if we let you stay with one of us?" Scootaloo asked in disbelief. Again, the colt paused to think, but then nodded. "I think so, but I haven't actually tried it before." Scootaloo looked excited about the prospect, looking at her two friends expectantly. Apple Bloom thought about it, scratching her head. "Well, it wouldn't be right to leave you in that thing..." She mumbled. "And it would be pretty cool to have an alicorn as a friend." Sweetie Belle smiled. "And we get wishes!" Scootaloo added, then paused, looking at the colt. "So if you can grant wishes, does this mean you can clean this store up for us?" The colt let out a laugh, as if the idea of him not being able to do it was just plain stupid. "Clean this store? Easy!" "Yes! Then I wish for-" "Hold up!" The colt cut in, holding out his hoof to stop her. "Just a few rules." The snow globe levitated to Apple Bloom. "You have to keep this with one of you back at your home. Otherwise anypony can take it, and I would not be able to help you guys anymore." He warned. "Also, you can't tell anypony about me." Apple Bloom raised an eyebrow. "Why?" The colt shrugged. "I don't remember, I just know it’s the rules. I can tell more about them later, but let me make this place a bit cleaner first." He grinned, looking at Scootaloo expectantly. Realizing what he was waiting for, Scootaloo grinned and started again. "I wish for this store to be clean!" The colt nodded, and his horn lit up. There was a flash and another pop! When the flash faded, the three fillies were introduced to a whole new store. The whole place was sparkling clean, with every item of the store neatly sorted, and lined up for easy browsing and inspection. The thick smell of dust was gone, giving way for a fresh clear smell that made the whole place seem much less stuffy. The windows had been polished, and the curtains cleaned and redrawn, allowing the sunlight to light the whole place up. The dead plants had sprung to life once again, and the girls could not see one cobweb, or spec of dust anywhere. The colt looked very pleased with himself, as he puffed his chest out a bit. "There we are, easy peasy." The colt grinned. The girls all looked around amazed, about to comment on how cool it was, when the door started to open, and the owner trotted inside. The colt looked at the girls, winking. "Alright, I'll see you three later. Remember, keep the snow globe." And with another pop, he was gone. The fillies looked stunned at the snow globe, but their attention was soon directed at the owner's startled scream. The three hurried to the front of the store and saw a stunned owner run her hoof over a table, her eyes wide in awe. "Oh my, how in Celestia did they..." She paused, spotting the three fillies standing there looking at her. "Girls, did you do all this?" There was a moment of hesitation, more exchanged glances. Then they looked back at the mare, all three smiling. "Yup! We did this!" Author's Note And so my random thought for the evening was put down, and is now here for you guys to read. XD I was pretty bored, and decided to write something that seemed kind of fun. Interestingly, it started as a Apple Bloom love letter story, lol. :rainbowlaugh: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/rainbowlaugh.png Anyway, if you guys have ideas for wishes the CMC could make, let me know in the comments below. :ajsmug: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/ajsmug.png https://img.youtube.com/vi/W2thmrHpuzQ/mqdefault.jpg //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: A Colt Named Comet //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: A Colt Named Comet "And thank you again girls!" Said the VERY happy store owner as the Cutie Mark crusaders left the antique store. The three girls left with big smiles, all pretty happy at how it had all gone down. The owner had been so surprised and happy with how her store looked, that the three fillies could not help but feel happy too. Not to mention they got a nice pile of bits, which only served to sweeten the whole experience. Luckily enough, when Apple Bloom asked about the snow globe, the owner happily gave it to them free of charge! Apparently she had no idea what it was, or who was in there. Apple Bloom felt a little bad about it, but as Scootaloo said as they walked out, what she doesn't know won't hurt her. The three made their way to the park, with Apple Bloom carrying the snow globe and the bits in her saddlebag. "I can't believe our luck!" Squealed Scootaloo in excitement. "We got a magical alicorn that grants us wishes!" "Told you it was a good idea to help out at the store." Apple Bloom smirked. Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, you didn't know about the globe, so that doesn't count." "It does so!" Argued Apple Bloom. "I found him, and it was my idea to go in the first place!" "She has a point." Agreed Sweetie Belle, making Scoots roll her eyes again. "Oh whatever! Let's get him out!" The CMC found a more or less secluded spot in the park, and sat down at a bench. Apple Bloom reached into her saddlebag, and got out the snow globe. Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle looked on expectantly as Apple Bloom placed it on the table in front of it. "Hello, you in there?" Sweetie Belle asked. There was a second of silence, when suddenly a puff of blue smoke appeared in front of them, and the colt stood on the table, coughing a bit as he waved the smoke away. "Sorry, I'm not used to getting out..." He said, shaking his head, and then smiled. "Hey guys! How did everything go?" "I went great, the owner was really grateful for the job we did." Apple Bloom smiled. "She said she has never seen her store so clean before." The colt grinned, puffing his chest out a little, looking exceptionally pleased with himself. "Well, it was nothing." He said in a bad attempt of seeming humble. "Hey, uhm..." Scootaloo paused. "Wait, we didn't get your name." "Oh right!" The colt nodded. "You can call me, uhm... You can call me... What was it..." The three fillies stared at him for a minute or two, when Sweetie Belle leaned forward a little. "You don't remember your name either?" "Hmm... No..." He let out a sigh, sitting down on the table. "Haven't used it in a while, so I guess it just kind of faded away." It was amazing how carefree the colt could look. He didn't look too sad about it, more like shrug it off and keep going kind of attitude. "How about we come up with a name for you?" Apple Bloom suggested, earning her a smile from the colt. "Okay!" The colt nodded excitedly. The three fillies started to think. "Well, how about Blue Bird?" Sweetie Belle suggested. "Because he is blue..?" Her tone suggested that she knew full well how lame that reasoning was. "No, no, no." Scootaloo shook her head. "How about Thunder Blaze!?" "Ooooh, I like it." The colt grinned. "Thunder Blaze?" Apple Bloom asked, looking unimpressed. "Doesn't really fit him..." Sweetie Belle nodded. "Yeah, I agree." "Oh and Blue Bird was much better?" Scootaloo asked. "We could call him." Apple Bloom thought it over. "Apple Starlight?" Now it was Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo's turn to look unimpressed. "Why is it always apples with you?" Asked Scootaloo. "And where did you even get Starlight from?" Apple Bloom made a face. "Well, first off because of his cutie mark." She said and pointed at the colt's flank. "And where did you get Thunder Blaze from?" For the first time since they had met him, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo looked at the colt's flank, spotting a golden star shooting start. "Huh, didn't notice that before..." Scootaloo mumbled. The colt looked down at himself. "Me neither." "Alright alright, so maybe something with stars?" Sweetie Belle suggested. "Star Bright?" "Starswirl?" "I think that's trademarked..." "Star Shooter?" "Wishing Star?" "Starfish?" "Steve?" The girls continued to list off names, all of them containing the word star in them. None of them they could agree on. After about twenty minutes, the girls were leaning over the table, all of them trying to think of a name they could all agree on. Meanwhile the colt still sat on the table, looking at them expectantly. "Stardust?" Sweetie Belle suggested. "Nah..." Responded the two other fillies. Scootaloo let out a groan. "This sucks, how about we just call him Bob, and get on with it?" "No, Scootaloo, he has to have a good name." Apple Bloom argued, getting Scootaloo to nod. "Now, there has to be a perfect name for him out there..." "Comet?" Sweetie Belle then suggested. The two other fillies looked at her, almost seeming surprised. "Comet..." Apple Bloom repeated, as if trying the name out. "Not bad." "Comet..." Scootaloo nodded. "Sounds pretty cool." The three of them nodded to one another, and then looked at the colt with big smiles. "How about it, you like the name Comet?" Apple Bloom asked. "Comet?" The colt tilted his head. "It does have a nice ring to it." Then he grinned, standing up and pointed to the sky in a dramatic pose. "From this moment on, I shall be known as Comet!" The crusaders laughed, and clapped their hooves together as if to applaud him. Comet laughed sheepishly, sitting down again as she scratched the back of his head. "Okay, now that we got that sorted out." Grinned Scootaloo. "Comet, I wish for-" "Hold on!" Comet interrupted, holding out his hoof. "I'm sorry, Scootaloo, but I can only grant each of you one wish per day, and you have already used your wish for today." Scootaloo's eyes widened in realization. "What, no! I take it back!" Comet shook his head. "Sorry, no refunds. I can't annul a wish just like that, and give it back, it isn't how it works." "Well that's stupid!" Scootaloo declared. "Take it easy, Scootaloo. You will get another wish tomorrow." Sweetie Belle reminded her, but she only got an unsatisfied grumble back from Scootaloo. "So, is that one of the rules you mentioned before?" She then asked, turning her attention back to Comet. "Ah, yes!" Comet nodded. "One wish per filly each day. You also can't tell anyone about me." "Why not?" Apple Bloom asked. The colt shrugged. "I don't know, it's just the rules." "Wait, so isn't it dangerous for you to be out in the open like this?" Scootaloo said, looking around to see if anypony was nearby. Comet smugly. "Don't worry, only you three are able to see and hear me right now." He let out a chuckle. "But I guess we should get the big ones out of the way. Rule one, I can't kill or harm anyone. Rule two, I can't mess with love. Rule three, I can't bring anyone back from the dead. Rule four, no time travel!" "That's it?" Scootaloo asked. "Nope." Comet shook his head. "But that's some of the bigger ones." Apple Bloom smiled excitedly. "How about giving us our cutie marks?!" "Yeah, great idea!" Scootaloo nodded, and Sweetie Belle joined in. "No can do." Replied Comet. "WHAT?!" All three yelled, almost making the colt fall backwards. He frowned, holding up his hooves as if trying to calm them down. "S-sorry, but I can't give you cutie marks..." "Why not!" Demanded Scootaloo. "Well, I have no idea what your special talent is, and even if I did, I could not grant you the mark for it! It's harmony magic, it keeps changing, so I can't mess with it." Comet tried to explain. seeing their disappointed faces, he quickly added. "B-but I can help you figure out what your cutie marks are!" "You can?" The three asked in unison. Comet nodded. "Yeah, we just have to try a bunch of stuff and figure out what you are good at!" The girls sighed. "We are already doing that..." Sweetie Belle sighed. Comet snorted. "Yeah, but you haven't done it with somepony like me before." He grinned. Scootaloo thought about that for a moment, then grinned herself. "Hey, he's right! We can do a lot more if he is around to help us!" She looked back at Comet. "So if we wanted to see if we can get our cutie marks in, uhm..." she thought about it for a moment. "Uhm, railroading, then you could do it, right?" "Yup yup!" Comet smiled. "I could give you your very own train to drive!" Now the girls all looked excited again, realizing the possibilities, and how many new things they could suddenly try. It was around this time the girls realized it was getting late. It wasn't too bad, but they did have school tomorrow, and so couldn't spend too much time outside today. Apple Bloom smiled, looking at comet. "Then tomorrow we will begin our new and improved quest to find our cutie marks!" The other two let out a cheer, and so too did Comet. "Until then, how about some ice cream before we head on home?" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were quick to agree, and so Apple Bloom looked at Comet with a smile. "I wish for us all to have our favorite ice creams!" Comet smiled, and gave a single nod. "Coming right up!" There was a flash, and in an instant there were three bowls in front of the girls, filled to the brim with ice cream, whipped cream, and with cherries on top. Comet had also been smart enough to make three spoons appear next to the bowls. He smirked as he saw the girls marvel at the sight of the large desserts. "Wow, these are the biggest bowls of ice cream I've ever seen!" Scootaloo declared, not hesitating for a second before digging into her chocolate ice cream. Grinning, both Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle started to eat their ice creams. After maybe a minute or two, Sweetie Belle looked over at Comet. "So, where is he going to stay?" "In the snow globe." Scootaloo said with her mouth full. Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes. "I know that, but where is the snow globe staying?" "Well wherever you put it, I won't be able to go far from it." Comet noted, earning him a confused look from the trio. "Why not?" "I told you." Comet said. "I'm bound to it, look." He raised his head, stretching his neck. Then they saw it, a glow appeared around Comet's neck, and they watched as a golden chain made of light moved from his collar to the snow globe. "You see?" "That's horrible!" Apple Bloom frowned. Scootaloo nodded. "Yeah, that's pretty messed up." Sweetie Belle looked at Comet, a pleading look in her eyes. "But my wish can set you free, right?" Comet looked at her, thinking. "Well, as I said, I am not really sure what will happen. You might be able to free me, but I think I would become tied to you three instead." Without thinking about it a second longer, Sweetie Belle pointed at him and said, "I wish you were free from the snow globe!" Comet's eyes widened, and having no other option he granted the wish. Before their eyes, it was like the chain shattered, only to then reappear. Only this time, there was no one chain, but three, and neither of them led to the snow globe. Instead each chain led to one of the crusaders. "Uhm..." Scootaloo hesitated, watching as the chains vanished into thin air. "What just happened?" Comet looked a little concerned. "I think what just happened was you three got substituted from the snow globe." He looked unsure, something that didn't exactly serve to ease the worries of the fillies. "So my guess is that I am now tied to the three of you..." "Just like that?!" Apple Bloom asked in disbelief. Comet shrugged. "I've never had anyone wish for that, not that I recall anyway. Haven't had a master for..." He thought for a few seconds, then shrugged once again. "I don't know, so you girls are probably the first ones to ever have wished for something for me." He grinned. "So does this mean you can grant us more wishes?" Asked Scootaloo. "No." "Drat!" "Sorry, Scootaloo, but rules are rules." He said with a small sad smile. "Anyway," Comet yawned. "I should get some rest... I'll see you girls tomorrow." Then before any of them could ask what he meant, he vanished in a puff of blue smoke. Scootaloo waved her hoof in front of her, trying to keep the blue smoke away from her ice cream. "Geez, he could at least have done that a bit farther away." "So, who should he stay with?" Sweetie Belle asked, moving back to her former question. Both Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle looked expectantly at Apple Bloom, who shrugged. "I don't mind him staying in my room." He nodded to the snow globe. "Reckon he's going to stay there until morning." "Okay, but let's promise not to make any wishes before we all get together!" Scootaloo suggested. "Alright, that seems fair." Apple Bloom agreed, and Sweetie Belle nodded too. The cutie mark crusaders finished their desserts, or tried to at least. It was the best ice cream any of them had ever tasted, but there was simply too much for them to eat. After some time, the three gave up, making sure to throw it out in a bin before they left the park. The three of them said their goodbyes, and Apple Bloom trotted all the way home. It was already late afternoon, with dinner just around the corner. Apple Bloom couldn't help but let out a groan at the thought of eating dinner. Granny wouldn't have liked it if she knew Apple Bloom had just eaten ice cream, but she just needed to power through it. Besides, when she had wished for ice cream, she had imagined popsicles or something, not huge bowls of luxury ice cream! Not that she or the others complained about such a minor detail... As she walked the dirt road leading up to the farm, Apple Bloom thought about what kind of colt Comet was. He was an alicorn, or at least he looked like one. He had no memory of who he was, or why he was even stuck inside a snow globe. The only thing he really seemed to know about was his task of granting wishes, and the rules he had mentioned. This was all really strange, but it was no use speculating on it now. Better wait until he was rested, and then she could ask him more about it tomorrow. Soon enough Apple Bloom arrived home, she greeted her family, and excused herself before making her way upstairs. Once there, she took off her saddlebag, and took out the snow globe. As she placed it on the bedside table, she was just about to turn around to go to the bathroom, when she noticed something odd. She looked at the snow globe once more, and found to her surprise that there were multiple lights on inside the castle. Before it had been completely dark, with windows as dark as an abandoned house. Now they were lit, like somepony was actually living inside it. She frowned, thinking back on Comet, and when they had first seen him step onto the balcony. Did that mean he was actually living inside of that tiny castle? That it wasn't just an empty model? She leaned a bit closer, trying to see if she could see past the large windows. Sadly, she could not see anything, either the glass was not made to be looked through, or perhaps the light was just too bright. Apple Bloom let out a frustrated grunt, but then shook her head. She could ask Comet about it tomorrow, perhaps he would even have remembered something of who he was? The more she thought about it, the more she found herself wishing to know... Wait a minute... "Wish..." She mumbled, then smiled. That's right, she could wish for him to remember! Yes, once they all gathered tomorrow, she would wish for Comet to remember everything! Sweet apple, she was such a bright filly. With a satisfied smile, she turned around, and trotted to the door. Stopping just for a moment to look back at the snow globe. "See you tomorrow, Comet." And with that, she left the room. Author's Note Sorry there was no major wishes in this chapter. I wanted to get the introduction and some of the basic rules out of the way first. :twilightsheepish: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightsheepish.png Anyway, thank you all for sending in your wishes for, well, the CMC's wishes. I should let you know I won't be taking them all, and there is some stuff I won't have them wish for. I hope to do some fun ones where some of them can go wrong, and the girls has to figure out a way to get out of the situations they put themselves in. :twilightoops: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightoops.png Of course, not all wishes ends up being a problem. Scootaloo wishing for herself to be able to fly is a good one, and can happen with no negative consequences. :ajsmug: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/ajsmug.png I hope you all continue to enjoy the story! :rainbowwild: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/rainbowwild.png
