Rivals

In the city of Manehatten a Threstral family of three daughters and a son and their parents were packing for their move to Canterlot. The daughters were named:
Snowflake Obsidian being the eldest at the age of sixteen, Firebrand being aged at fifteen, Knuckles aged fifteen as well because Firebrand was his twin even though they looked completely different. The youngest was Star Shadow at age fourteen.

Their new school in Canterlot was large and the siblings were at this moment in their new house unpacking their stuff. “Snowflake…” began Knuckles and Star Shadow in unison but Knuckles began to talk before Star Shadow could finish her thought. “Snowflake, do you think we’ll be accepted at our new school?”

“Don’t fret over that issue until tomorrow, I did a fly over the soccer field and the cheer squad and the team was practicing and I found that this school will have a popular group. The cheer captain is a gray pegasus with a red and black mane. We mares will most likely have a hard time fitting in, but you’re athletic and good looking but still the team captain of the buck-ball team might see you as a rival.”

The following day arrived, and Knuckles and his sisters happily enjoyed the warm morning walk to school. Knuckles saw the one whom his sister Snowflake had described. The school team captain was with her, and Knuckles noticed that the pegasus had quite the entourage. The morning sessions were math, history, and biology; the lunch hour had arrived and the cafeteria was packed. Knuckles saw that his sisters had found people to sit with and the only spot left was at the “cool kids” table. He walked over and asked if the spot was taken and he was met with the negative so he sat down. The team captain for the soccer team was being a bit of a jerk though. “What makes you think you can sit with us?” Before Knuckles could answer he saw the pegasus of the cheer squad.

“Cool it down Two-Bit…so kid what have you got to offer to let us allow you to sit here with us? That is excluding the telekinetic abilities and being a bat pony? If there is nothing to offer to impress us then get lost!” The one named Two-Bit shoved Knuckles off the bench and Knuckles saw his siblings fly over his tumbling body. “So kid you have siblings who will stand up for you…that is rare and impressive. Lily please bring my tray to this end and move Two-Bit to where I had been sitting! Knuckles you're sitting with me.”

Knuckles saw that his sisters were walking off and looked confused. Knuckles introduced himself and the pegasus sat silently before replying. “My name is Stormcloud but a few are allowed to call me Stormy. Anyways, I saw your sister fly over the other day. Besides cheer captain I hold the fastest times for track…well second to Rainbow Dash over there.”

“ Back home I was one of the fastest on my track team and was also on our soccer team.”

The pair talked and had silently decided that the other was a rival in terms of speed. After the lunch period Knuckles prepped for his biology class and mentally prepped for his physical education class which had a mile and a half run built into it before a sport was played.

Knuckles found his siblings on the far end of the soccer field stretching. "Hey you guys! Thanks for coming to be my back up earlier. I gotta make sure I stretch plenty since I need to out run Stormcloud and Rainbow Dash."

Snowflake Obsidian spoke first, "Knuckles you'll never outrun Rainbow Dash and for the love of what's holy don't make it a competitive between you and Stormcloud. The girl did get that jock off your ass earlier."
"I know but she made a claim about being the second fastest in the school and I'll beat her to it!"

“Brother of mine, just be the best that you can be and you know how mom and dad feel about you trying to better than a girl at sports. There are other things to think about…like the other girls in this school - like Sunset Shimmer or Sonata Dusk maybe you’d take to liking that Starlight Glimmer.”

“I don’t need a girl right now…I just need to be the second fastest in this school!” Soccer season at this point in time was at an end to be precise and and what Snowflake Obsidian had seen was just drilling.

Knuckles met up with Stormcloud at the school track and stretched and warmed up. Rainbow Dash was there and all warmed up and was ready to sprint. Stormcloud was on a bench...more like her feet were on a bench while she had propped herself and was doing push-ups.

Knuckles and the other guys were talking and and making crass jokes and comments about their female counterparts. Knuckles was trying not to stare at the girls; some were in shorts and tank tops or leggings and a crop top. Stormcloud was wearing shorts and tank top and looked attractive.

Knuckles siblings arrived at the track starting line and began their run while they watched their brother pace himself with Stormcloud and Rainbow Dash. On the trio’s heels were Zipp Storm and Indigo Zapp. The final lap came and everyone sprinted! R.D. finished first followed by a near margin with Stormcloud in second place with Knuckles on her heels with Zipp and Indigo just two inches behind Knuckles.

Breathing hard, the siblings Sat down on a bleacher and began to drink some Gatorade to rehydrate and cool down before the coach dragged them into a sport. The sport they had heard was gonna be the obvious choice - soccer. Stormcloud had chosen to be with Zipp, Indigo, Rainbow Dash, and one girl the siblings hadn't met yet.

The soccer game was pretty well balanced and Knuckles was frustrated the whole time because Snowflake Obsidian was the goally for Stormcloud and he couldn't land a ball pass his sister! No one could, not even Rainbow Dash. Stormcloud was heard swearing as she couldn't land a ball past Starshadow.
