There was something special about the summer times of Canterlot City. Even after experiencing it for years, the people here couldn’t believe that a city that could hit well below freezing in winter could strike back so hard with record-breaking heat waves. In the face of such crazy temperatures, the citizens of the city really only had one option.
“You sure about this, Pinkie?” With a smug grin as wide as her face, Rainbow Dash called to her friend from a distance. She gripped the plastic handle of her water rifle tight as she slung it over her shoulder. “You already know ya can’t beat me.”
“Aren’t we tied?” Pinkie held a similar rifle in her hands, keeping it stable with her off-hand. She was looking ready for war, with several water balloons filled to the brim somehow hanging from her waist. She met Rainbow’s smug glare with a determined grin. “Come at me!”
“I’m ready when you are!”
Time seemed to slow around them. The passersby, who’d already known that shenanigans were about to take place, collectively took a step back. The two became statuelike, with neither even twitching.
Then, arbitrarily, the two took off.
Rainbow Dash, being the faster of the two, readied her rifle and pulled back on the pump. A large gush of water burst forth, rushing toward Pinkie. Thankfully, this wasn’t her first rodeo, and it was easily sidestepped. Pinkie’s counterattack, two quick pumps in succession, had been dodged by Rainbow’s dive. Capitalizing on her downtime, Pinkie grabbed one of the balloons around her waist and chucked it toward Rainbow. With a hefty backstep, the balloon smacked against the grass and exploded.
“Those were good investments,” said Rainbow. Pinkie smiled at the compliment. “But not good enough!” Rainbow stepped forward, quickly evading two more jets of water, before taking aim. Pinkie reached for her belt, throwing a balloon between the two to stop her advance. To avoid it, Dash jumped into the air and sprayed downward. With quick thinking, Pinkie spread her legs, the water blasting the earth between them.
“Turns out…!” Pinkie reached for her belt, grabbed her last balloon, and tossed it toward the landing Dash. “They were a great investment!” With almost no time to react, Dash’s hand shot behind her back, quickly returning with a large balloon of her own. Pinkie’s eyes went wide as she saw it in her hand. Dash could barely hold it properly. With a haphazard throw, Dash’s balloon connected with Pinkie’s midair, both exploding in close proximity.
“Whoa!” Pinkie was knocked back by the blast of water, falling to her butt with a small thud. The water had soaked her entire front. Her shirt clung to the curve of her breasts, and her skirt flattened out against her thighs. With her off-hand, she wiped her face and flicked the water off to the side. “Welp, guess I lost, huh!”
“Nah, this one’s a tie, too.”
Pinkie looked up to find Rainbow Dash standing above her. Though she hadn’t been knocked down and her jacket took most of the blast, her shirt had been similarly soaked through. Being less blessed than Pinkie in the chest department, her shirt clung on to what it could. She pulled against it, but her blue sports bra was still clearly visible.
“I don’t know why, but I feel like you’re disrespecting me somehow,” said Rainbow, her eyes narrowing. “Just so you know, this isn’t over.” Despite her words, Rainbow extended her hand out to Pinkie. With a smile, Pinkie took it.
“Of course not, silly!” She got to her feet, brushing the dirt off her butt as she did. “We still have the whole festival to look forward to.” Rainbow nodded, then lifted her rifle over her shoulder once more.
“They’re probably wondering where we are right now,” said Dash with a chuckle. “Wanna go soak ‘em?” Pinkie grinned, then lifted her own rifle in a similar fashion.
“You know I do!”
The Lakeside Festival is the annual event Canterlot City holds wherever the heat reaches unbearable levels. Originally designed to be a tourist attraction, the festival eventually grew so large in size that more locals were coming for a chance to cool off than tourists. And so, every year, the city sets up games and attractions all targeted at beating the heat in an effort to keep everyone cool and safe.
“You know you don’t have to explain that to us, right Twilight?” Pinkie chuckled, throwing off Twilight’s clearly rehearsed explanation. “We’ve been coming here since like, forever!”
“W-Well, yeah. I know that.” Twilight looked away, a small embarrassed blush flashing across her cheeks. “I was just… setting the scene.” She recovered from her flustered state as she cleared her throat. “Anyway… why are you two already so wet?”
“We just had a couple of water fights before we got here.” Pinkie’s hair had been doused with water, making it flop in front of her eyes like a dog with a lot of fur. Rainbow had her normally flamboyant and stylized hair flattened out. Neither seemed to be too bothered by this, though. “Well, maybe more than a couple, hehe.”
“I feel so bad for your poor underwear…” Dash smirked, then pulled at the hem of her skirt. She hiked it up just enough for Twilight to see what was underneath.
“No problemo,” said Dash. “With these bad boys on, I’m all set.” Twilight spotted the pair of shorts she was trying to show off. Despite her claim, they seemed to be just as drenched as the rest of her. With them clinging to her, the definition of her toned thighs looked even more pronounced than normal. Before Twilight could comment any further, she dropped her skirt.
“It’s pretty awful for me, though!” exclaimed Pinkie with a fervor that didn’t match her words. “But it’s alright. Getting wet in something you’re not supposed to is pretty cool, too!”
“Well, if you say so,” said Twilight with a resigned sigh. “Anyway, you already know this, and it’s not like I’m much of a gatekeeper, but… keep out of trouble and everything should be alright.” Without skipping a beat, Pinkie and Rainbow Dash both performed an exaggerated salute, putting on their most serious faces as they did.
“You can count on us, Twi,” said Dash.
“Just one last question for you, though!” Twilight’s eyebrow raised at Pinkie’s statement.
“What’s that?”
As if it were a practiced routine, the two moved in unison and readied their rifles. Twilight’s eyes barely had time to go wide before they both blasted the last few pumps of water in their guns at her chest. She put her hands up to protect her face, but it was already too late. By the time the duo had run out of water, all three of them were equally soaked through.
For the next few moments, there was silence. Well, the sounds of merriment and cheer could be heard from behind Twilight, but between the three of them, no one said a word. It wasn’t until Dash lowered her weapon that the silence was broken.
“A swimsuit, huh?” she asked. Underneath Twilight’s normal attire was an average purple swimsuit. Though it was made to protect against water, it seemed to hug her shirt tight, making it very easy to spot. “Guess that makes sense. We are at a water-themed festival.”
“Sorry, Twilight,” said Pinkie with a chuckle. “We just thought that you might wanna get in on the festivities too, so we just…” Twilight wiped what little water had reached her face away with a swipe of her hand. “H-Hey, you’re not… mad, are you?” After wiping her glasses with a nearby towel and putting them on, Twilight smiled.
“No, Pinkie, it’s fine,” she responded. “Though, now I have a question for you.”
“This is giving me bad mojo,” said Dash, her eyes widening. “Like, ‘it’s time to get the fuck outta dodge’ bad mojo.” Twilight simply chuckled, her grin growing wider with each passing second. She bared her teeth like a lion eying two gentle gazelles. The two met eyes for just a moment: more than enough time to realize the danger they’d gotten themselves in.
“My vengeance… Do you think you can escape it?” Before her sentence had finished, the two had dove past her, heading into the festival grounds proper. Twilight followed them with her eyes for a distance before chuckling once again. “Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same.”
Of course, the two had no way of hearing those words. By the time she’d said them, they’d already run a considerable distance away from the entrance. Pinkie, who’d fallen behind Dash’s impressive speed, finally caught up to her underneath the shade of a large tree. Thankfully, where they’d decided to catch their breath was right at the heart of the action.
All of the festival’s… festivities surrounded a massive body of water called Saddle Lake. Countless booths and stands sprouted up around the edge, though there were some set up directly in the water as well. For as many people that were participating in the games in some way, there were still plenty just swimming as well. And of course, there were those that weren’t doing either.
“Hm? Oh, Pinkie, Rainbow. Hello, darlings.” Rarity tilted her head towards her friend as she approached. Comfortably sitting in a reclining deckchair underneath the liberal shade of a large umbrella, Rarity held a drink in one hand and pulled down her sunglasses with the other. “You two seem to be having fun.”
“Hey Rarity,” responded Dash. She moved her rustled hair out of her face, as it already began to dry. “We actually just got here.”
“Getting a headstart on the fun, then? I can understand. Rarity’s gaze traveled down almost imperceptibly toward their clothes. The intense heat was already drying up the evidence of their earlier activities, but the damp cloth still found itself stuck to their skin. With her quick eyeful complete, she turned away and took a sip of her drink. “Exquisite…”
“So Rarity, what are you getting on first?” asked Pinkie enthusiastically. Rarity chuckled.
“I’ll take a dip in due time, darling. You don’t need to wait for me.” She turned back to them. “In fact, there’s a perfectly good spot in the water just in front of me here.” The two watched as her pupils narrowed and she bit her lip. “Why don’t you two—”
“Rarity! This Great and Powerful one requires your immediate attention!” The three of them jumped as the voice blared from a bit off in the distance. Pinkie and Dash swore they could hear Rarity suck her teeth as she turned to the newest speaker. “This swimsuit Trixie bought from you is the wrong size. It keeps falling apart! Trixie demands you do something about this immediately!”
Trixie was someone the three knew best not through any direct interaction with her, but because of her… unavoidable presence. She had the ability to make it impossible to not know who she was by screaming her arrival whenever it was appropriate to her. Though they knew she wasn’t being actively malicious, she was definitely a painful thorn in their side.
“Why are you all looking at Trixie like that?” Her eyes widened. “Oh, I see. You desire Trixie’s picture. Well, who would I be to deny such eager fans!” She placed her hands on her sides, jutting out her hip, and struck a pose. “Well then? Fire away!”
What Trixie had somehow neglected to remember was that her hand was basically the only thing keeping her top from falling off. After a few seconds, it slipped off of her chest, exposing her. The three barely got a peek of her bare breasts before Trixie shot forward to catch it with speed even Rainbow Dash had to be proud of. She hugged the cloth to her chest like her heart was in danger of falling from it. She looked up at the trio, a healthy blush covering her entire face.
“A-A-As you can see, T-Trixie requires your help… please.”
“Y-Yes, I see.” For some reason, Rarity was just as red as Trixie. She put her hand up to her mouth to attempt to hide it, to no avail. “Pinkie Pie, darling… Can you help her adjust the straps? I would do it myself but… I feel like my knees might be a little weak.”
“Okie Dokie!” Pinkie skipped around Rarity’s chair, stopping right behind Trixie. She grabbed the loose strings hanging off her body, then pulled them together. “I’ll wrap them up real tight.”
“Trixie, darling, you’ll need to move your hands,” called Rarity, her voice still muffled by her palm. “Otherwise Pinkie won’t be able to do what she needs to.” Though she was clearly reluctant at first, Trixie obliged, moving her arms out of the way.
Rarity couldn’t help but squeal. With Pinkie pulling it taught, the swimsuit hugged her breasts in a firm grip. Water cascaded down her neck, sliding down and slowly disappearing behind the top. Given Trixie’s more than modest bust, pulling against the bikini revealed a perky bump underneath the cloth. Rarity’s piercing gaze almost gave the impression that she could see beyond it.
“N-No, that’s… that’s no good d-darling,” huffed Rarity. Her hand was no longer enough to hide anything. She was clearly smiling and as red as a beet. “Your hands… underneath…”
“You’re getting off on this, aren’t you!?” exclaimed Trixie, nearly as red. “You think my embarrassment is funny!”
“No, I don’t think that’s the kind of getting off she’s experiencing right now,” said Dash with an awkward smile. “Hey Pinkie, maybe you should hurry up and fix her top so we can go do some other stuff.”
“No!” Rarity raised her voice more than any of them had heard before. She turned towards Dash, the fires of passion burning bright behind her eyes. “This is a job for a professional, Rainbow Dash! I will not have you spoiling this moment for me!” She whipped back just as quickly, leaning closer toward Trixie. “Now, darling… hands underneath your chest please.” She huffed. “Push those puppies up—”
“Done!” Pinkie popped out from behind Trixie, a large smile on her face. She patted her shoulder a couple of times. “There’s no way that’s coming apart. That knot’s stronger than most marriages!” Trixie snapped out of her embarrassed daze, and covered her chest, despite the top being firmly in place. Once she realized that fact, she turned to Pinkie.
“T-The Great Trixie thanks you,” she mumbled. “And must also be going. Goodbye.” She spun on her heel, then sped away with impressive speed. Before anyone could say another word, the three were left alone again. Rarity huffed again, this time in disappointment, before falling back into her chair, pouting.
“Now look at what you’ve done,” she said, crossing her arms over her chest. “I’ve missed a perfect opportunity to… get feedback on my clothes! What do you have to say for yourselves?” Pinkie offered her a friendly smile.
“Sorry about that, Rarity,” she said. “I’ll find some way to make it up to you. Pinkie Promise!” Rarity turned in her direction.
“Oh? Well, I suppose I could forgive you if you wanted to jump in the lake here and—”
“Another time!” exclaimed Dash, putting her hands on Pinkie’s shoulders. “We’re gonna spend the whole day here if we go along with Rarity’s antics.” Once again, Rarity pouted, this time aimed exclusively at Dash.
“Fine. Spoilsport.” Her mumbling was accompanied by a wave of her hand. “Go on, then. Shoo. If you won’t oblige me, I suppose I’ll get back to my… sightseeing.” She reclined in her chair, back to the position she was in before they’d approached her. The two shared a glance, then shrugged, turned, and walked away.
It didn’t take long to find a new source of entertainment for the two. A small crowd had gathered at a spot near the water’s edge. For people to be this clumped up on a day as hot as it was, the two knew something special had to be up. Though, once they approached, they were greeted with a sight neither could have ever predicted.
“Alright, everybody! Get ready for the next round!” A familiar voice blared over a megaphone, instantly catching the attention of the pair. They looked at each other before beginning to wade through the crowd to find the source. “Next up: a challenger sure to knock the queen off her throne! Bulk “The Brick” Biceps!” The crowd erupted in cheer just as Pinkie broke through the front.
The aforementioned contestant confidently walked down a narrow path floating on the water. By the end, there was a much sturdier structure protruding up from the water: a long, wide pole holding up a large flat disk several feet above the water. Once Bulk climbed up to the main platform, the rickety path was removed and tossed to the side. The person to do it hoisted her megaphone once again.
“Both players are locked in!” Applejack yelled. The crowd yelled out in excitement. Now at the front of the pack, Pinkie and Rainbow watched as Bulk Biceps raised his weapon and brandished it at his opponent. “On yer mark… get set…”
“Hey, wait!” Rainbow called, snatching the megaphone away from Applejack. “What do you think you’re doing!? If Fluttershy fights him she’s gonna get smoked!” Applejack shook her head, then pointed towards the makeshift arena.
“Ain’t no way I’d throw little ‘ol Fluttershy to the wolves without a plan,” she said. The three of them turned to where AJ was pointing. “Watch.”
Just as Rainbow Dash had said, standing across from the massive mound of muscle was Fluttershy, almost insignificant in comparison. In her hands was a pillow nearly wider than her.
“Sorry Fluttershy,” said Bulk. He flexed his muscles and held the pillow in a tight grip. Even without a proper go signal, Bulk Biceps pulled his pillow back and jumped toward her. “But you’re going DOWN!” His first swing was lightning quick, aimed at Fluttershy’s lower body. Rainbow leaped into action, ready to swim all the way out there if it meant saving a friend.
Instead, with a grace she’d never displayed before, Fluttershy hopped over the swing, throwing Bulk’s balance into massive disarray. As he stumbled toward her, Fluttershy sidestepped him, using her foot to trip him further. Finally, with a large swing of her own pillow to the back, Bulk tipped over, flipping off of the platform and landing in the water with a large splash. What few water droplets did reach the platform were tactfully blocked with the pillow.
The crowd erupted in cheer. A few seconds later, Bulk Biceps emerged from the lake, shaking his head back and forth to clear any water from his face. He looked up at Fluttershy, who hand kneeled down and smirked.
“Guess that’s my loss!” he said. “Welp, time for the swim of shame…” Bulk Biceps turned toward the shore, doggy paddling his way to it in just under a minute. Once he could walk, he jumped out, soaked head to toe in lake water. Despite that, his toothy grin made it seem like he’d come out on top after all. In the commotion, Applejack snatched the megaphone back from Rainbow’s hand and turned it on.
“Give it up for the Undefeated Queen of the Ring, Fluttershy!” the crowd once again exploded with cheer. On the platform, Fluttershy blushed slightly. “Unfortunately, since there ain’t no more cider left to sell, I’m afraid we’re gonna have to call it quits here.” There was a bit of vocal backlash, but most of the crowd understood. “Thank y'all for comin’ out! See ya round!”
The large crowd gave one last hoorah before slowly disbanding. As they did, AJ retrieved the long strip of a walkway and returned it to the water, pointing at the arena.
“Alright, Sugarcube. You can come back.” Before she’d even finished her sentence, Fluttershy hopped down onto the walkway and skittered across the water like a bug. By the time AJ lowered the megaphone, her feet were firmly planted on the grass, and the pillow was firmly clutched to her chest. ‘Nice one, Fluttershy! You earned me a lot of money.”
“Why was she even out there in the first place?” asked Pinkie with a raised eyebrow. “Fluttershy doesn’t exactly seem like… water battle material.”
“W-Well, I was helping set things up for the festival this morning, and Applejack said she needed someone to help her with a little attraction for a bit.” The two turned back to AJ, who smiled awkwardly.
“Hey, don’t look at me like that! I didn’t expect her to go undefeated. I thought she’d go down in the first round,” she explained. “But, well, people kept buyin’ and Fluttershy kept winnin’ so I thought I might as well keep going!” AJ put her hand on Fluttershy’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, Shy. You’re going home with a huge cut for what you’ve done for me today!”
“Thanks…” Fluttershy mumbled meekly. She handed her pillow off to AJ, who placed it with the other one in a pile near the rest of the supplies. “Well… it was a little bit of fun.”
“Hey, Fluttershy!” The booming voice was enough to make Fluttershy yelp in surprise. The four turned around to meet the speaker, finding a familiar toothy grin in its place. “Your arm is pretty good! I’d love to try going against you again sometime.”
“Oh, um, um…” Though Fluttershy was known for her shyness, as her name implied, there was something underneath it this time. Her eyes darted every which way besides at Bulk Biceps, eventually landing squarely on the ground between her feet. Even then, she found it necessary to cover her eyes with her palms. “M-Maybe you’d like a towel? Or s-something to cover yourself up?”
“Oh, this? This is no biggie” As he spoke, Bulk pulled at his soaked shirt. It looked like it was a size or two too short for him, so when he flexed, his biceps and abs bulged through it. He may as well have been topless. Fluttershy let out a small wail under her breath as she looked up at him between her fingers. “Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you were awesome! Hope you enjoy the rest of the festival.” With a wave and another smile, Bulk was off, heading toward some other attraction. The three were silent for a few awkward moments before Fluttershy cleared her throat and returned to normal.
“So you’re like that too…” mumbled Dash. Fluttershy’s eyes widened.
“L-Like what?” she stuttered. “I don’t know what you mean.”
“Nevermind,” said Dash with a resigned sigh. She turned to AJ with a hand on her hip. “So, you guys wanna walk around with us? There’s still plenty of other things to do.” AJ grabbed the brim of her stetson and pulled it down slightly.
“I’m gonna have to pass on that one,” she said, closing her eyes. “Since we’re all sold out, I’ve gotta pack stuff up here and bring it back to the farm. No telling how long that’ll take…” She sighed, then turned to Fluttershy. “But Fluttershy hasn’t even had a bit a’ fun since the whole thing started. Reckon she might want to get out there and play around.”
“Yeah! Let’s go find some more stuff to do!” exclaimed Pinkie. She grabbed Fluttershy’s hands and lifted them into the air. “Anything you’ve been eyeing, Shy?” Fluttershy averted her eyes, then smiled nervously.
“Anything that doesn’t involve getting wet,” she mumbled. “Today is… probably not good.”
“Whaddya mean?” asked Dash. “It’s like a bajillion degrees out. Unless you wanna end up like a grape, there’s not much you can do but get wet.” Fluttershy shuffled in place for a few moments, not saying anything, before Dash sighed and shrugged. “Well, if you don’t want to, you don’t want to. Let’s get something to eat.” Fluttershy smiled, which was mirrored by the other two.
And as the sun’s heat reached its peak for the day, the three took off toward the next part of the festival.
“Oh hey. Didn’t expect to see you three together.”
The voice came from one Sunset Shimmer. Sat on the grass underneath the shade of a tree, she watched a trio approach her. In front was Rainbow Dash, wielding a water rifle in one hand and a corn on the cob in the other. Behind her was Pinkie Pie, a water gun slung behind her back and holding two corn dogs in each hand. Bringing up the rear was Fluttershy with a kebab of roasted vegetables. Sunset smiled as they approached her.
“Looks like you two have been enjoying yourselves,” she said. It was the same line that Rarity had delivered not long ago. This time, the two had been splashed through with water once again. “Hey Fluttershy, you alright? Your face is looking pretty red.” Fluttershy put her free hand up to hide her blush.
“N-No, it’s nothing,” she assured her. “Just happy to bring up the rear…”
“So what’re you doing back here?” asked Pinkie. Sunset pointed toward the lake, at a setup near the shore.
“Waiting for the cannonball contest to start,” she said. “I think I’m gonna participate this year. I hear there’s a sweet hat as a prize.” She got to her feet and motioned toward the trio. “I’m guessing you came to join in too?”
“Nah, we’re just gonna hang out here,” said Dash. “We’re not finished eating, and Fluttershy doesn’t wanna get wet, anyway.” She turned to her friend. “Though I'm guessing that watching a cannonball contest would be right up her alley.” Fluttershy chuckled nervously but didn’t respond.
“Looks like there’s a crowd here.” Keeping in line with the long day of interruptions, the group of four turned to meet a new speaker. This time, however, it was a group of three that approached them. Given the trio’s history with the group, none of them could be faulted for being a little on edge once they finally stopped in front of them. Thankfully, it was all smiles. “Enjoying the festival?”
“Hey, Adagio.” It was Sunset who spoke up first. “Feeling pretty good. How about you?”
“This place is awesome!” It was Sonata who answered her from behind. “Everything’s all about water! It’s almost like we’re back home!”
“It’s not bad,” chimed Aria. “Anyway, you guys gonna be in the cannonball contest?”
“She is, we’re out,” said Pinkie, hoisting her corndogs. “Gotta get some nutrients in!” Sonata chuckled.
“That makes sense,” she said with a nod. “Even if you did enter, all you’d do is get creamed by us anyway!”
The silence that followed could only be described as suffocating. The two groups stood across from each other, their stares enough to piece steel. Still, everybody was wearing a smile.
“C’mon, Sony!” said Pinkie with a laugh. “Cream us? There’s no way.”
“Well, we are creatures of the sea after all,” said Adagio with a smirk. “There’s no way you guys would ever stand a chance.”
“Maybe if you were in your original form,” said Sunset. “But now? With an ass that flat? I don’t know.” Adagio’s eyebrows turned down, but she was still smiling. Though, by now it looked more like she was gritting her teeth.
“C’mon girls,” said Aria. Everyone turned to her, not expecting her to ever be the voice of reason. “Let's put our money where our mouth is. The contest is starting.” Rainbow and Pinkie quickly finished off their food before tossing the remains in a nearby trash can. Finally prepared, the six participants (Fluttershy stayed behind) made their way to the diving board.
The one that had been set up looked professional. It required a ladder to get to the top, and if the previous contestants were to be believed, the board was strong and bouncy. Though none of the six were especially worried about anyone but their opponents.
“Flat ass… I’ll flatten her ass…” Despite the nonsensical nature of her mumblings, Adagio still muttered them under her mouth as their group approached the latter. “Alright, here’s the plan—”
Before she could speak even a word, Sonata was already climbing up the ladder. Adagio wanted to call her back down, but the fire of competition had set her body alight. She sped up the ladder and stood at the edge of the board in record time. She looked down at the pool of water, almost like she was examining it for the best place to land, before hopping in place. Once, twice, three times, until she built up enough height. With a final hop, she vaulted off of the platform and plummeted into the water below.
She landed in it like a pin, barely even rippling the water. A few seconds later, she resurfaced, a wide grin on her face.
“How’s that!” she said, pointing at her opponent’s group. “Barely even a splash!”
“The lights are on, but nobody’s home…” Adagio sighed. “Alright, so Aria. Here’s the plan—”
However, much like her younger sister, Aria had already begun climbing. Now embodying her rash personality properly, she clambered to the top and stood at the edge. Adagio was a little annoyed that she’d ignored her, but at the very least, she would understand the actual objective. Sonata climbed out of the water on the shore next to the tree just as Aria jumped off. She hugged her legs close to her chest, using her backside to slam into the water. It was a sizable wave, but barely even lapped the shore.
“Alright… Here’s the plan, me.” Despite saying that, she climbed to the top without a word just like her sisters. At the top, she looked at her sisters on the shore, then down at the water. With a deep breath, she jumped off.
After hitting the water, the wave lapped up against the shore, splashing the legs of the other Dazzlings. She smirked at the competition with a grin before rejoining her sisters on the shore.
“Hphm, not bad, not bad,” said Pinkie, crossing her arms over her chest. “Now let me show you a real cannonball.”
Pinkie spent very little time climbing to the top, then started hopping. Just as Sonata did, she slowly gained more and more airtime. It almost seemed like she was trying to touch the clouds with each bounce. Eventually, though, she came down, bent her knees, and soared into the air.
Everybody looked up at her, and time seemed to stop. She floated among the birds, her knees tucked and her hair slowly wrapping around herself. As the seconds ticked on, Pinkie spun and spun, slowly gaining speed as she plummeted toward the water. Adagio’s eyes widened, but she barely had time to turn around to act.
Pinkie slammed into the lake. A wave wouldn’t be enough to describe the impact. For years to come, people would ask what they saw that day. Most couldn’t tell you. But for the six that participated in the contest first that day, it was clear.
The water wall approached. It had been the second coming of Moses.
There was a split second of silence before the tsunami of water crashed into the land. People standing 10, or maybe even 15 feet away were blasted with water. Every girl in the contest had been soaked through, and even some who weren’t. Then, just as chaotic as it had been before, the silence returned. Pinkie came up to the surface of the water, spitting some out as she did.
“So how’s that!?” she asked. “Do I get my prize?”
“You’ll be getting something, alright.” Once again, a new voice sprouted up among the rest. Pinkie slowly turned towards it, an awkward and apologetic smile on her face. Standing on the shore were the two contest administrators, Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna. Their suits had been doused in water just like everyone else, their tops almost completely see-through. Pinkie had to admit, seeing the curve of her breast as the shirt was stuck underneath it was a sight to behold. Fluttershy or Rarity wouldn’t have been able to deal with it. “Come with me.”
“So…” Pinkie murmured. “No hat?” Luna looked down at her, clearly not amused.
“No hat.”
“And so, the festivities of the day come to an end. Many travelers will be heading home for the day, as the locals prepare to wrap things up here. So is the way things go during the Lakeview Festival.”
Pinkie turned to her side, spotting a camera crew filming the large gathering of people gathered for the end of the Lakeside Festival. Sitting with everyone they’d met for the day, Pinkie and Rainbow Dash turned to the camera, giving them a smile and a wave.
“You sure are cheery.” Pinkie turned to meet Sunset’s eyes. “Well, considering that you just got a hilariously high amount of community service hours assigned to you, maybe you’re just laughing to keep the pain away.”
“That is a bummer, but It’s okay!” Pinkie hummed and tapped her foot on the floor. “What’s one or two… hundred hours?”
“I think it was somewhere closer to five, actually,” Fluttershy chimed.
“I really can’t believe it,” said Applejack, with a whistle. “Someway, somehow, ya managed to get through the entire day without not a lick of water touchin’ ya.” By some miracle, Fluttershy was the only one of the group who hadn’t gotten hit by the large wave and had dodged any other attempts to get her wet. Even AJ, who came later that day, had gotten soaked at some of the attractions.
“Oh, it’s no big deal,” she said with a shake of her head. “I just don’t think today was a good day to get wet, is all.” Before she could finish, or anyone else could chime in, the loud screech of a microphone took their attention away. It came from a small, makeshift stage near the entrance of the park. Standing on top of it was a pair of faces Pinkie would have loved to never see again.
“Ahem, attention all.” The stern voice from Vice-Principal Luna was sure to gather everyone’s attention. Once she was sure she had it, she continued. “Today has been another wonderful Lakeside Festival, barring a couple of… events.” Pinkie felt several eyes train on her.
“Oopsie,” she said. Luna cleared her throat.
“Anyway, without further ado,” she raised her hand, then pointed it out over the crowd. “I declare this year's Lakeside Festival to be concluded!”
Normally, this would be a time for cheer, but the crowd fell deadly silent. The group was confused until they realized that everyone was looking above them. When they followed suit, they were similarly speechless.
A rift had formed above their heads, rippling with arcane energy. Though it was a bit hard to make out, the other side seemed to be a comically large bucket of some kind. Though most were simply confused, Pinkie and Rainbow’s eyes went wide. Near the top of the bucket, there was a familiar face. And just seeing it was enough to send chills down their spines.
“Destiny has arrived.” Twilight’s words were followed by a large creaking sound. The bucket tipped over, and from it poured a massive deluge of water. With no time to react, there wasn’t much anyone could do except be blasted. It continued on for half a minute, but it felt much longer. Once the last bits of water dripped from it, Twilight jumped through the rift, landing on the muddy ground she just created right in front of the pair. “Consider this justice served.”
“H-Hey, Twi,” said Pinkie. “S-Sorry for blasting you with water this morning.”
“Oh, you’ll be sorry,” she said with a maniacal laugh. “This is special water. I created it myself. This water won’t dry up for weeks.” She grinned wide. “Your panties will be soaked through so long, you’ll forget what dry feels like!”
While Twilight cackled evilly at the edge of the crowd, Fluttershy’s mind had gone elsewhere. All around here, everywhere, everything was wet. She put her hand up to her mouth, but not even it could hide the redness of her cheeks.
“Oh…” Her eyes darted left. The Dazzlings were pulling on their shirts, wringing excess water from them as much as they could. The way they pulled them made their boobs pop out way more than before. Darting to the left, she spotted Sunset, AJ, and Rarity all soaked through. Rarity’s shirt became as see-through as glass, her stunning black bra on display for all to see. AJ and Sunset had their jackets on, but the space between their breasts was noticeably blank. As they peeled them off of their bodies, Fluttershy couldn’t help but huff and puff. “This is... heaven.”
“I agree, darling,” said Rarity, similarly blushing red. “However, might I advise you to take a look at yourself for a moment?” Fluttershy froze as she felt the eyes of nearly every person in the venue turn to see her.
She had gotten wet, just like the rest of them. If someone were to look closely at her chest, they might be able to see something more. Poking out of the fabric of her nearly see-through shirt, were two large pink nubs. It didn’t take a genius to realize what they were. Her hands moved quickly, but only to cover her eyes.
“I-I-I didn’t do any laundry today,” she murmured. “I didn’t have anything to wear…”
“W-We’ve got that on camera, right?” Juniper Montage whispered to her cameraman. After he nodded, she smirked. “That’s going on the bonus DVD!”
