//-------------------------------------------------------// Shining Armor's Coming Out Announcement -by Blue_Tidalwave- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// An Announcement... //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note Shining Armor heads to Ponyville with Cadence and Sombra to tell everypony the news. (Short chapter, I know, but I hopefully want this to make people feel better about themselves if special people in their lives don't accept them for who they are.) (also honestly not hoping this flops hard ;-; i might write extra chapters of just sombra x shining armor fluff or clop or something idk give me ideas pls thank you) An Announcement... Walking towards Twilight's castle, Shining Armor couldn't stop sweating bullets or shaking irritably. Sombra rolled his eyes and wrapped an arm around his coltfriend. "Shining Armor, you seem stressed," said the ex-Tyrant, "I suggest you stay calm." "Stay calm?! How can I stay calm when I'm imagining every possible outcome to this announcement?!" Shining Armor exclaimed instantly. Sombra rolled his eyes again before Princess Cadence let out a small chuckle. "Babe, I'm sure you'll do fine. Just say what you're going to say and the worse they can do is.... well," Cadence shrugged, "not accept you." "But I really want them too," Shining Armor looked down, "I just feel so... different compared to everypony else." "Don't say that, Shining," placing a kiss on Shining's cheek, Sombra reassured the white unicorn, "You are just like Cadence and I: regular ponies with regular feelings." Cadence nodded, continuing off what Sombra said, "This is normal, Shining. Twilight will be the first to accept you, I'm sure of it." "...hopefully," he replied with dismay. The three arrived at the castle, and Shining Armor knocked loudly on the front door. Opening said front door, Spike greeted the three ponies. "Shining! Cadence! And... Sombra!" Spike stared at Sombra for a few seconds, "You willingly wanted to come along? Or was this forced?" Chuckling at Spike's little joke, Sombra leaned down towards Spike and whispered just enough for Shining Armor and Cadence to hear, "I was forced to come." Shining Armor's horn lit up and he threw a nearby rock at Sombra. He got up and looked at Shining, who had a pouting facial expression. Sombra almost exploded of laughter, but simply let out a small chuckle. "Well, come on in! Twilight and the others can't wait for your announcement! We actually made theories of what it could be!" Spike said as he gestured the three to enter. They did just that, closing the door behind them. As Spike lead the three to the throne room, Princess Cadence spoke, "So, Spike! I was wondering, how long did it take you to adjust to your wings?" "A few weeks, actually," Spike replied, smiling, "Twilight and a dragon friend of mine both taught me how to fly." "Did she make you write a report on the history of flying?" Shining Armor joked. Spike shook his head. "No, but I was surprised that she didn't even make me read a book titled 'Flying for Noobies 101' or something to the degree of such," the dragon replied before opening the door to the throne room. Twilight Sparkle was already at the door and immediately hugged Princess Cadence and Shining Armor. Sombra awkwardly smiled before being pulled into the hug by Twilight. "Shining Armor! Cadence! Sombra! It's good to see you three! The rest of us are excited for your announcement!" Twilight chimed in delight, before teleporting straight to her seat, smiling widely. "Oh, do consider taking a seat, I'm sure traveling here must have been a pain with the train construction," Rarity stated, gesturing to the chairs. "Oh, we're fine after that, but thanks Rarity," Cadence said, taking a seat next to Twilight. "'We're?' Who are we talking about, because my back is aching," Sombra said, seating himself right next to Rainbow Dash. The rainbow-maned pony raised an eyebrow at Sombra. "You can have back pain? I thought you were immortal," she said in confusion. Sombra looked away before looking back at her. "I am immortal, yes," Sombra said before licking his lips, "...but unfortunately, that doesn't mean I am immune to physical pain. I guess you can put it that way." "...makes sense I guess," Rainbow Dash shrugged before turning to Shining Armor, "Anyway, heard you got an announcement. Is it important?" "I guess so," Shining Armor stated, taking a seat next to Cadence. He was about to sit but was engulfed in a fuchsia color from horn to hoof. He was levitated to Twilight's seat. Twilight teleported right next to Cadence. "Since you're announcing, you can have the seat!" Twilight said, with that same smile, "Now, before you announce whatever you're going to say, we all theorized something about what you're going to say. Pinkie Pie, you can go first!" Pinkie Pie took out a pile of notecards from her mane, "Let's see, do you want me to read the 'Totally Not Gonna Happen' pile or the 'Most Likely Going to Happen' pile?" "One of each," chuckled Shining Armor. Pinkie Pie shrugged, and randomly took one notecard from each said pile. The pink earth pony then read. "'You're going to have another filly,' this is from the mostly gonna happen by the way," Pinkie read the other card, "and 'you're dying your mane pink!' which is the most likely gonna happen." Shining Armor blinked as Cadence laughed. Cadence wiped a tear from her face, "Okay, I'm going to interfere with that one. No, Shining Armor and I don't plan on having any more fillies." "And uh.... no," Shining Armor cleared his throat, "I'm not dying my hair and mane pink, Pinkie Pie." "Awhh," said Pinkie Pie in defeat. She shrugged and looked at Fluttershy, "Fluttershy, what did you predict?" "U-Uhm," Fluttershy looked away slightly, "I-I also assumed that you were going to have another baby." "Likewise," said Starlight Glimmer, "I also theorized that you were going to announce a pregnancy." Applejack nodded, "Ah' thought Twilight was gunna be an aunt of two." Rarity chuckled nervously, "I thought that you were going to announce a pregnancy and also some threat to Equestria. But I guess Sombra isn't really doing anything." "What is that suppose to mean?" Sombra got defensive. Rarity only chuckled. "Oh, don't be such a party-pooper, Sombra! I was bound to make that joke, and to win a bet against Rainbow Dash for 'Most Amount of Jokes and/or Puns!'" Rarity stared at Rainbow Dash, who only stared back with a smile. "Oh Rarity... I didn't have to come from the shadows to see that," said Rainbow Dash as she slapped her knee and started laughing hysterically. She stopped after a good minute, seeing everypony else giving her a blank stare. Sombra scoffed and gave her a smirk. Rainbow Dash turned to Rarity who facehoofed. "Anyway.... I also thought you and Cadence were gonna have another child," Rainbow Dash said, "But you aren't..." "I kinda thought that there was another threat to Equestria," Twilight scratched the back of her head, "not continuing from Rarity's joke by the way." Rarity rolled her eyes. "I thought you guys had a national holiday just for me in my name for saving the Crystal Empire," said Spike with a proud smile. "For the tenth time Spike," Twilight said, looking at her adopted brother, "In order to make a national holiday, you have to-" "Yeah yeah I know," Spike repeated what Twilight said, "Go to a mayor, submit an appeal, have it approved by ten different ponies with useless positions before it gets sent to the maximum ruler..." Twilight rolled her eyes before turning to her brother, "I also thought you and Cadence would have another baby. And some other major event, but if it's none of that, then what is it?" Shining Armor sighed heavily, "Well... it's something about me. Personally." "'Personally?'" said Twilight in confusion. Shining Armor nodded. Catching everypony's attention, Shining Armor kept his cool and posture before letting it all out. "Twilight, Spike, everypony... I'm bisexual. I like both mares and stallions. I know this because Sombra and I have been experimenting with Cadence's permission. I wanted to get to know that side of me, and I got to know it very well. I knew I couldn't hide this forever, so now I'm announcing it. Right now. In front of you all. If you don't accept me, that's totally okay." Shining Armor turned to his sister who was in shock. He got up and walked towards her, "I just don't want to lose you." Twilight's mouth was agape for a few more seconds before she closed it. Twilight then gave her brother a look, "W-What?! Sh-Shining Armor! No! I would never reject you for who you are!" "Yeah, Shinin' Armor! We wouldn' dare ta not accept you fur the way you are!" exclaimed Applejack. "Of course, darling! After all, you're still a pony like the rest of us!" Rarity said. "Uh huh! This means I can make a bisexual cake for you!" Pinkie Pie hopped in her seat. "Your feelings are completely valid," smiled Fluttershy. "They are! And trust me, I've been in your hooves before!" Rainbow Dash said, signaling to her mane. "It's cool that you like both genders, Shining Armor! It makes you no different from the rest of us!" Spike said, smiling. "This doesn't change the relationship we have with you, Shining Armor," Starlight said as she walked up to Shining Armor, "You're you. And it's okay to be you. I learned that from a certain alicorn princess." Twilight chuckled slightly, "Shining Armor, you're my big brother. Our relationship will not change because of your liking to the same gender. We'll always be here to support you." Shining Armor stood still before his face churning slowly into a sad expression. He immediately started tearing up before hugging straight to Twilight. Bawling his eyes out, he cried, "T-Thank you! All of you!" Everypony else got up and hugged Shining Armor. As the group started letting go of the hug, Shining Armor sighed, "This felt really good to get off my chest." "See? Told you so," Cadence said, "You have amazing siblings, and six other incredible friends to talk to." "And you have Cadence and I," Sombra said, nuzzling against Shining Armor's neck. Shining Armor smiled. "This calls for a CELEBRATION! I'll note this down on my Friends-Calendar!" Pinkie Pie pulled a calendar along with a pen from her hair. The calendar was brightly decorated with her friends and herself being drawn on the front cover. She flipped to today's date and wrote "Shining Armor coming out day!" "Oh, I also made a cake!" Pinkie Pie pulled a cake from her hair also, which was colored the same tricolors as the bisexual pride flag. It had a figure of Shining Armor at the top of it. "I appreciate it, Pinkie. Thank you," Shining Armor thanked her. Pinkie Pie handed everypony a plate and fork, and a knife to Shining to slice the cake. "Wait, can you even eat?" Rainbow Dash asked to Sombra. He nodded. "If I ever starve, I can just go to the darkness and replenish there," Sombra smiled. Rainbow Dash scoffed. Everypony was enjoying cake and just hanging out with each other. Shining Armor felt content and happy that he was accepted into the group for who he was. He eventually went to Canterlot and told his parents, who also happily accepted their son for who he is. After spending the entire day with Twilight and her friends, Shining Armor, Cadence and Sombra said their goodbye's and went back to the castle via train ride. The construction was still annoying for Sombra, but he survived. After Cadence turned in for the night, Shining Armor and Sombra were having a conversation in the bathroom. Shining Armor was drying his hair and tail out with a towel while Sombra was brushing his teeth. "How do you feel, Shining?" Sombra rinsed his mouth out, his horn stopped glowing when he set aside his toothbrush and walked towards his coltfriend. Shining Armor smiled. "Relieved, satisfied, happy, content--" Shining Armor paused before saying, "The list goes on! I think this is the second time I've ever been happy like this." "What was the first time?" "When my parents bought me my first comic book," Shining Armor blushed slightly. Sombra chuckled softly. "What a nerd. But a cute one at that," said Sombra, getting closer to Shining Armor. Shining Armor blushed slightly. He looked at Sombra who bit his lower lip in a seductive mannar. "I prefer the term handsome," replied Shining Armor, grinning at the dark umbrum. Sombra scoffed and rolled his eyes. "I think the word 'pretty' suits you more. Has that ring to it, can't describe it so well," Sombra playfully chuckled. Shining Armor returned the gesture. "Any plans for tomorrow?" asked Sombra. Shining Armor paused to think about Sombra's question quickly. "Not really, Cadence is just doing princess duties and I'm training new guards but I don't think we have anything too major," replied Shining Armor, setting his towel behind the door. He started brushing his teeth as Sombra waited patiently. Once Shining Armor rinsed mouth out, he set his toothbrush in a cup and was greeted by Sombra when he turned around. Sombra's ruby red eyes stared into Shining Armor's azure ones. Sombra grabbed Shining Armor and held him. Shining Armor chuckled. "You wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid." "I guess my IQ is lower than the bottom of the ocean, because I do want to kiss you." With that, Sombra lowered himself and kissed Shining Armor. The white unicorn kissed back, allowing himself to melt into that kiss. The two pulled away, a small line of saliva connected their tongues. It broke quickly, retracting towards each other. "I love you so much, Sombra," Shining Armor stated. Sombra blushed slightly and hugged Shining Armor. "I love you too, Shining Armor." The two stallions got done with preparing for bed, and they headed over to the bedroom where Cadence was already asleep. Shining wanted to be in the middle, so he laid onto the bed spooning Cadence and letting Sombra spoon him also. When the two stallions drifted off into their deep slumber, Cadence turned and hugged Shining Armor from the front, smiling in her sleep.
