New Frontiers (Rewrite)
He was no one special. A simple private given leave for exceptional academic results. He decided to see the Florida keys with the family he had there. It didn't last long as the first day ended in tragedy.
An attack on a global scale sent all world leaders into a frenzy. Attacks hit almost all costal bases and natural resources were seized. To make things worse, a majority of naval craft were destroyed in the first few hours. A single battle group managed to survive and would build the foundation for combating the new threat.
The young soldier survived, but his family didn't. Using what little skills he had gained from basic, he would make an uneasy alliance with a wounded Griffin. One a survivor of tragedy and the other a failure in the eyes of her comrades, they seek to end the unjust war. He never knew that the information he got from his new comrade would be so vital to the war. Both have to adjust to the new war, the dire situation humanity's in, and their change from an 11 and 25 to an 18 series.
Newly appointed Staff Sargent Hunter Herrero would be the hope of the people, but none are human.
Yeah, it's a rewrite. I'm now officially a soldier and I can see what was wrong with the last story. This'll be grounded in reality with very few leaps in logic.
... Probably.
I've never seen combat, so it's really just going to be based around what military culture is right now and what I believe happens.
