Zecora spent the rest of the afternoon collecting the necessary ingredients and mixing the concoction together. Zecora meticulously selected the freshest plants and carefully measured everything out. The potion came together nicely in her cauldron. It was as dark burgundy color that clingged slightly to the sides of the cauldron as she stirred it, much like a red wine.

“I’ll explain why in a minute,” said Twilight. “Zecora was by earlier today and…”
“I mean, how would you feel if Fluttershy invited all of us to something but not you?” asked Pinkie, interrupting again.
“Pinkie,” pleaded Twilight, “please let me finish. Zecora asked me to test a potion for her. The thing is that the…”
“The thing is that you would feel awful if Fluttershy didn’t invite you to something,” interrupted Pinkie again. “I know I would feel just awful, like the time I thought you guys were avoiding coming to my party and I got really moody and started to spy on what you were doing. “The potion is supposed to stop the user from having bad dreams,” answered Twilight, “but so far Zecora has been the only one to try it. In statistics, the larger your sample size, the closer you get to the true answer. We need a larger N value to find out if the potion fills its intended purpose.” Applejack raised her hand. “Yes Applejack?”
“Yeah, um… what does that mean?”
Twilight sighed, “It means Zecora may have been a one-off. The potion may work just fine for everyone else but gave her a bad dream for some reason.” Applejack and everyone else looked like they were starting to understand. “So, only if more ponies try it, and it stops them from having bad dreams, then we will know if it works.”
“So you want all of Ponyvillie to try it?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“I figured we’d just start with us,” answered Twilight. “If we all get the same result, then we can be almost sure that it works or doesn’t. Although we’ll need to keep testing if it seems to work to make sure.”
“So, do we just drink it now?” asked Shining.
“Zecora isn’t sure how long the potion lasts or if daily activity may affect if it works. So I would say take some home with you and drink it a little while before you go to bed,” said Twilight. “Make note about what you did during the day and your dreams if you can remember.”
The other ponies at the table all looked around hesitantly at each other and le large jar of the potion. “Of course,” continued Twilight, “Being a scientific study, you don’t have to participate if you don’t want to.” Twilight looked a bit nervous, hoping her friends wouldn’t back out.

Shining and Twilight spent the rest of the day walking around Ponyvillie catching up with one another. “She’s back in Canterlot, safe and sound,” answered Chrysalis sounding a bit disgusted. “After what happened, It’s not like Changelings can get in their anyway.”
“But this is Canterlot.”
Chrysalis chuckled again, “Oh is it?” Her curved horn started glowing with a fluorescent green color. Shining looked up; the colors and textures of the finely cut stone of the ceiling seemed to wash away leaving the rough, black rock surface of a cave. Chrysalis hovered down to the floor and started to change the furniture in the room to the same black, blue and green colors while making it more “Changeling” in appearance. Shining continued to stare as the walls seemed to melt around him.
As the colors of what he was now sure wasn’t his bedroom continued to give way, what had been windows opened up to be tunnels. As soon as the openings were big enough, swarms or Changelings and immediately flew in at Shining. Shining steeled himself and ignited the magic in his horn; he wasn’t captain of the guard for nothing. He unleashed a hail of magical bolts into the pack of Changelings, taking out multiple targets with one shot. The Changelings began to fight back, spitting sticky globs of green goo from their mouths. Shining dodged and used his magic to create shields to defend himself, all while continuing his barrage of magic missiles, but the Changelings just kept coming. It seemed like the battle was an even match.
One Changeling happened to catch Shining’s eye. It was bigger than the others and its horn seemed more developed. It fired up its own magic and shot a glob that was a few shades of green darker than the ammunition of its compatriots. Shining conjured up a shield of force to block it, but to Shining’s disbelief, when it met the glob it seemed to dispel and dissolve. The glob hit Shining in the center of his head, completely covering his horn. Shining felt all of his enchantments fizzle and the goo absorbing any spell he tried to cast.
The hoard of Changelings was on him in an instant. Shining did his best to keep them off of him with punches and kicks but they were too many and too fast. “You’re so noble,” laughed Chrysalis. “Good as that idea is, and yes I did think of that, Cadence breaking my enchantment has made you immune to it. So short of possession, there is no way I can control your actions.”
“Then why have you brought me here?”
“Sustenance. Changelings survive on love remember?”
“Without your enchantment, there is no way you’ll ever get me to love you!”
Chrysalis’s dress burnt off in a green flame, giving Shining a full view of her curvy black figure.
