Life For A Life

Core opened his fridge to look for a midnight snack when he heard the doorbell ring. He looked over at the front door and closed the fridge. Wondering who it could be this late, he walked over and stood in front of the door. "Who is it?!" He yelled. When there was no answer, he turned the knob and flung the door open. No one was there. He stepped out and looked around. "What the hell? This some fuckin' prank?!" When there was no reply, he went back inside.

He went back to the kitchen and opened the fridge again. Seeing nothing of interest, he closed it and went to the pantry cabinets. He retrieved a bag of chips and made his way towards the stairs. When he entered the hallway, he looked down towards the sliding glass doors leading to the backyard. Seeing nothing, he sighed and headed upstairs.

He suddenly heard something move in the living room. He came to a stop and listened more carefully, setting his bag of chips down. He then backed up and ran to the kitchen, grabbing a knife from one of the drawers. Determined to kill this intruder, he ran back into the hallway and made his way down the hall towards the living room. He mentally noted that the sliding glass door remained closed. Peeking around the corner, he saw the TV, couch, coffee table, and everything else intact.

"Psst," came a faint whisper.

Core whipped around and swung his knife. Nothing. "The fuck?" He asked, not seeing anyone. "This is bullshit, man."

He quickly reached into his pocket to pull out his cell phone. Before he could unlock it, he felt a rag over his mouth. The world soon turned black as he passed out, dropping the phone and knife.

Core opened his eyes to find his wrists tied to his bedposts with his shirts. He tried to pull his hands free but it was no use. "What the fuck?" He asked, before he noticed the woman sitting at his desk. "Pinkie? That you, bitch?"

The pink-haired woman looked over at him and set a pencil down, implying she was writing something. "Hey, there, Core. You should really watch what you call me."

"What the hell are you doing?" Core asked with a grunt as he tried once again to pull his hands free.

Pinkie stood up and turned to face him. "You've been a bad boy, Core. I punish bad boys."

Core stared at her before he chuckled. "Is that what this is?" He asked. "You putting on a show?"

"Down, boy. I'm just here to make sure you pay for how you've treated Fluttershy and several other girls."

"Make me pay?" Core asked, before Pinkie held up a switchblade. "Are you fucking serious? You're gonna kill me?"

"Hmmm..." Pinkie hummed as she looked over the blade. "No. You're gonna kill yourself."

"The hell I am!"

"Oh, really?" Pinkie asked as she picked up the note she was writing with her gloved hand. She then went over to the side of the bed to hand it to the man. "That's not what this says," she cooed as the man took in and looked it over. "I've been watching you for a while now. Been planning this out. Tell me... is that your handwriting?"

Core growled. "You bitch."

"And now your fingerprints are all over this suicide note," Pinkie chuckled as she took the note back and set it back on the desk.

"You forged my handwriting?"

"One of my many skills, dear."

"But the evidence! The cops'll know this was a murder!"

Pinkamena giggled at that. "What evidence? I used chloroform to knock you out. I used your shirts to tie you down to avoid the marks rope leaves. I wore gloves to not leave any fingerprints. I wrote your suicide note. And isn't this your switchblade?" She asked, holding the weapon up again. Core just glared at her. Pinkie giggled and lowered the blade before she reached down beside the bed and seemed to be preparing something. "Now that you know it was me who did this to you..." she began, standing up with a wet rag in her hand. "...you can take that information to hell." She then jammed the rag in his face.

After disrobing the man and dumping his body in the bathtub, Pinkie filled the tub with water and then used Core's switchblade to slit both his wrists. As the blood from his left wrist turned the water red and the blood from his right wrist dripped onto the floor, Pinkie set the knife in the puddle of blood on the floor. Standing up, she let out and sat down on the toilet lid.

"I was hoping to have more fun with you, but... you forced my hand," she said, checking off Core's name from her mental checklist.

After about an hour, when it was clear he was dead, she stood up and checked his pulse. Confirming his death, she left the bathroom and grabbed the bag she brought. She then made her way out into the backyard and inhaled the fresh air. Much better than the stink she had to endure in that man's room. She then snuck off the property and, once she was a few blocks away, she removed her gloves and stuffed them in her pocket.

Now alone with her thoughts, she sighed heavily, wishing she could have tortured Core even more. After how he treated Fluttershy and made her cry on countless occasions, she wanted him to suffer. But she knew that if his death looked like a murder so close to the murder of Birch, the cops may come asking her questions. She had to be normal and play along before her next big kill. She walked for about ten more minutes until she noticed fire coming from a nearby home. The blaze seemed to have just started and was localized to the top floor.

"Is that... Gilda's house?" Pinkie asked herself as she neared it. Her initial thought was to just walk away, but then another thought entered her mind. Smirking, she quickly turned and ran across the street and up to the house. Trying the front door, she found it locked. "Dammit."

She went to find a window on the lower floor and broke it with her elbow. Reaching in, she unlatched it and slid it up. Once inside, she saw that downstairs had barely been touched. When she arrived at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the second floor, she saw upstairs on fire. Covering her face form the heat, she quickly ran up. She looked around for the bedroom but decided to call out.

"Hello?!" She yelled over the fire. "Gilda?!"

She listened carefully and heard light coughing from her left. "H... Hello?!" Came a faint voice. "He-elp!"

Pinkamena turned and ran past the burning walls and ducked as part of the ceiling fell. When she arrived at what she assumed was the bedroom door, she kicked it with all her might. It took her two tried before she managed to get it open. Inside, she saw Gilda laying on the floor beside her bed, a couple stab wounds in her stomach with blood all over her hands.

"You?" Gilda asked.

"Don't get picky," Pinkie said as she ran over. "What the fuck happened?" She asked as she let Gilda put her arm around her.

As the pink-haired woman helped her bully up, Gilda groaned. "Someone attacked me from behind, stabbed me twice, and set my room on fire."

"Holy shit," Pinkie muttered, helping Gilda out of her room. "Hallway's kinda hot, so... let's make it quick."

"Fuck me..." Gilda muttered.

"Alright... Go!" Pinks yelled, before the both of them booked it down the hall to the stairs. Once there, Gilda let out a loud yell of pain. "FUCK!"

They heard a crashing sound from the bedroom as the ceiling collapsed, flames bursting through the open doorway. Additionally, the front door was kicked open as the fire department entered. Pinkie helped Gilda down the stairs where the injured woman was taken away to the hospital.

"Anyone else?" The chief asked Pinkie.

"No. Gilda lived alone."

"What happened here?"

Pinkie shrugged. "I... According to Gilda, she was attacked, stabbed, and her attacker set her room on fire."

"Attempted murder?" The chief asked as the firefighters quickly managed to get the fire under control. "And destruction of evidence?"

Pinkie shrugged again. "According to Gilda," she repeated.

The chief nodded. "Well, you're a hero. She would've died if you hadn't come along."

"I'm aware."

"Right," the man muttered, before he cleared his throat. "Would you like a ride to the hospital?"

Pinkie shook her head. "I have to get back to my dorm. I'll visit her tomorrow."

"Ah, Canterlot University?" He asked. Pinkie nodded. "Got a son there. Nice school."

"It's fine." Pinkie then gave him the peace sign before she turned and walked away.

When Pinkie arrived back at the dorm building, she headed back to her room and took off her black outfit and stashed it in her closet. She then grabbed the clothes she wore to school and left her room, walking naked through the empty hall back to Fluttershy's room. Once inside, she dropped her clothes where they had been and climbed back into bed with her friend. When she scooted closer, she gently took Shy's arm and draped it over her so she could move closer. After getting comfortable, she closed her eyes and went back to sleep.
