Chapter 1 - One Tarterus of a introduction
The woman was shaking awake when she noticed the nice warmth all around her. Someone or something was shaking her hard while heating up her confinement.
Perhaps she was being rescued from the remains of the glass panel that had been falling down on her? How she survived this at all, was far beyond her imagination.
But someone was about to save her and she be reunited with her family.
A mighty collision she more heared than it was feeled by her stopped all the shaking.
When after several minutes nothing happened, did she started to panic.
She had to get out of her predicament!
To her surprise, her prison begins to cracked slowly, when she tried to escape again. With light shining through the cracks of her prison and the liquid slowly draining away.
Her head eventually popped out of whatever held her in place. When she had obtained freedom, did she notice how she was inside a small crater. Climbing out with her old body would be a pain in the ass.
When she looked around herself, did she see her former prison. It looked like a stone like egg.
"Impossible!" So she thought.
Then she noticed something blocking part of her vision, it was purple and it looked like a heavy breathing dog snout or something similar... with scales.
Impossible as it seems was she was freezing in place, when she tried to take the object in her face away with her... CLAWS?
Holy mother of all that is something important, her hands are clawed! No skin on them, but rather snake-like scales. She declined the possibility that she was really seeing what was infront of her.
She must really have suffered head trauma from the glass panel falling on her as well using her head to break free of the... Egg?
Impossible, what was going on?
She checked out her body as much she could, her neck was ridiculous flexible and when she feel her tail up and down, did she notice the muscles in them. She could move it shortly after, but she was very concerned about injuries she might sustain if she accidently moved it her way.
She had a bloody steel sword as a tail tip.
Well it wasn't literally bloody, yet.
But she sure knows what not to mess with unless she really needed to.
Something inside her mind started to calm her down. It was like a soundless voices she just know where there, but something hold them of from actually hearing them.
Despite one of them seeming to humming her a lullaby of sorts and her stress and confusion started to melt away from it, like ice in a child's ice cream cone.
Next was a different voice in her mind beckoning her to climb out. She followed the voiceless suggestion and found her claws to be excellent tools in climbing out of the crater.
She was in a forest full of Apple Trees, some of them apparently had been set on fire by something and the ground around the crater was partially burned clean down to the earth or stone? It was hard to describe how the ground looked like.
The lullaby to keep her calm continued to contain the female's anxiety and the other voice in her mind told of knowledge that sounded to be a matter of fact, rather than a suggestion.
It told her she was a baby dragon, her affinity was related to darkness, electricity and magically changed fire.
Magic? Magic was real? What was going on?
If not for the continued humming of a calming soundless lullaby she be probably lost to confusion and fear.
But wherever she was, she apparently had someone watching over her. Her personal guardian angels perhaps?
Apparently did both voices chuckled at her suggestion, despite not vocal voicing it.
She seem to have roommates in her head. Paying rent in the form of mental support and knowledge.
She was taken out of her musings when something was heard to produce a low growl behind her. The dragon hatchling spinning around on her four legs managed on instincts and substituted muscle memories thanks to her roommates to move rather swiftly.
It felt rather natural to walk on all four legs of her body, yet she somehow knew that one of the voices assisted her in moving so coordinated.
Would the voice support end, would she be stumbling around like a newborn without a doubt.
While one voice helped her move smoothly, did the other voice let her move in some kind of autopilot. She know she could override it anytime she wanted, but she trusted her guardian angels to guide her.
Not all to sudden three Timberwolves jumped out of the cover of still smoking trees.
The smoke that acted like fog really seemed to make their on their own glowing eyes even more dangerous and ominous in nature.
Her breathing was clear despite all the smoke in the area. The wooden wolves in front of her had slightly to fight with coughing though.
The ones on the sides spread out flanking her, cutting off line of sight as well they managed.
Her field of view was a lot bigger than before, even with the blind spot in front below her, a well compensated trade.
When the dragon hatchling bad luck had her potencial escape blocked. But they in turn didn't move to attack while the original middle one that was the only one approaching her alone.
She or rather the voices in her head guiding her body unlike her own wishes to walk away to denied that instinct. Her body was slowly walk instead of backwards as her human mind suggested, instead it was actually slowly walking towards its deadly aggressor.
The wooden wolf one of the voices called a Timberwolf, stopped advancing and rather slowly backed away while growling.
One of the two voices in her mind whispered and demanded her to take a deep breath through her nose, hold it and release it in force as if to shout but not to speak, rather than exhaling with all the force her lung would allow.
All three minds in her body flinched slightly, when a silent but insistent roar with a green fireball exited her mouth.
The Timberwolf tried to back away from the vibrant forest colored flame, but found itself bumping into a tree.
The Timberwolf now set on magical fire cried its own agony into the sky, before falling to ash.
The ash in turn seemed to be picked up by a strange wind and was flying towards places unknown.
When she turned around, another Timberwolf was almost snout to snout with her. One of the voices used her tail when she backflipped with all her might backwards.
The Timberwolf, unfortunately already committed to attack in a jump to catch his prey by surprise, was cleavaged cleanly in two pieces.
The three voices were confident to now manage the last Predator. Since their teamwork seemed to have trump this beasts hunting instinctual behavior with improvised combat prowess and she felt something rising from her throat.
A mighty cute roar was coming out of her throat.
If not for her displayed deadly attacks on its pack members, would the Timberwolf have fallen to pieces in laughter. It sounded like a Kitten was roaring because it scared itself after farting for the first time from indigestion.
After the embarrassing failure and a mental facepalm did she tried again.
This time the formerly old woman breathed in with her mouth instead of her nose and exhaled with all her lungs capacity.
She actually only expected a faster build up of air and exhaling of fire. Instead did she exhaled a dark lightning bolt that cracked with unstable electricity.
The Timberwolf exploded on impact and its fragmented body pelted the dragon hatchling. It's scales had not yet fully hardened and it feel like tiny ice balls showered her with slightly painful hits.
It reminded her of a hail storm actually.
After the voices had used the hatchling body to turn slowly twice in place and scanned the area further for threats, did the hatchling body from overuse of physical and magical strength started to lower to the ground.
The voices under protest had lost their control of the body and while still there was unable to assist in anything but singing her a lullaby in unison to keep her troubled human mind occupied until they guided her failing body to sleep.
Not one of the three minds of the out cold body of the hatchling was able to register the ponies coming to the old ponies and by extension her young bodies aid.
"Honey over here." A pony stallion in enchanted leather armor called over a mare in the same themed and enchanted leather armor was heard echoing over the still in smoke fogged Orchard.
The two figures were running towards the unharmed, but totally exhausted and passing out elderly mare and to their surprise a female dragon hatchling.

The Apple family was out in the field of their Orchard in the fields closest to the Everfree Forest, when a pack of 13 Timberwolfs had stormed them.
Instead of surrounding them as expected, the Timberwolfs holded 4 by 3 formation with the Alpha Timberwolf at the front slightly in front of his pack.
The Ponies of the Apple forest had not left enough of the magic rainbow apples behind for them to feed on in their opinion even if it was slightly more than last year's portion.
It was time to feed on one of them to remind them who really owned this Apple forest and the portion of the wild jungle where once a year the rainbow apples bloomed for one week.
The Apple family was unprepared for this attack, magical wards should have warned them if anything would go through or above the fence that are enchanted for alarms to sound all over the orchard.
Unfortunately did no one expected the Timberwolves to generously dig under the fence poles that already reached two meters depth.
A stallion the father of the family, a mare the mother of the family, a elderly mare the Grandmother of the stallion and a pair of foals between the legs of the parents. They all know that fleeing as not an option.
Under tears did the elder walked over to the parents of the foals and give them a nuzzled goodbye.
The Timberwolf respected this delay standing in formation. While they are Predators and superior in every way, was there no reason to not show respect to the sacrifice the elder was willing to give to pay for the safety of the Herd.
The Alpha would snap her neck quickly to end her pain and leave her a few minutes to have safely died before devouring her.
Nature was unforgiving, the ones in it in contrast had empathy unlike many expected them to show and practice it.
Before the old light green mare with silver mane and tail could walk over to her last walking while her family was wailing for her fate to be changed by any creatures miracle, did loud *bang* take every creatures attention towards the sky.
As if their call for divine intervention was heared and answered did a massive fireball come from very high in the sky towards them.
As if Celestia's divine wrath was coming for those that would dare to harm her subjects.
The Timberwolves were uncertain if this was a horned Prey trick or not.
When the Alpha checked the Herd, did he noticed no horn and they watched in awe towards the fire in the sky.
What ever trick this was, they would not fall for it.
The Timberwolfs as barked by the Alpha keep formation and ready themself for a counter attack.
Three younglings of the pack moved towards the prey to keep the elder from fleeing in a moment of distraction.
Noone expected the fireball to be actually a high velocity dragon egg that got *yeeted* by Nightmare Stellar Moon and Luna towards the planet.
When the burning egg impacted in the middle of the pack was every Timberwolf directly surrounding the impact zone instantly disintegrated to ash.
The three remaining Timberwolves and all the ponies got thrown to the ground through the shockwave.
The remaining Timberwolfs recovered and retreated to observe the situation.
Their pack was destroyed. They would need at best one hole day and night to recovering from becoming ash, three days and nights if they wanted to return to half their total strength individually.
Their Alpha would not be amused about this outcome after having renewed itself.
The Timberwolfs retreated, but keep the ponies in view, in case they charged due to the turn of events. The adults take the foals and fleeing the Apple Forest to their wooden den.
The elder lay unmoving in the grass. If it was dead or unconscious was not too important.
At least one meal was waiting for them that they had not to share with the pack... a rare opportunity.
After some time did a wingless purple not pony came out of the hole in the ground.
The hunt was on!
